Overview Reviews
Idyllic countryside spa retreat in North Wales. In a sublime setting where you can truly get away from it all, the Wild Pheasant Hotel & Spa, BW Signature Collection fuses the traditional charm of its original 19th century building with a luxury contemporary wing and soothing spa facilities. It is nestled among the stunning scenery of the Vale of Llangollen in North Wales, close to both Wrexham and Chester. So whether you are here to hill walk, sightsee, shop until you drop or make new business contacts, the hotel makes a fantastic base. It is no wonder it has become a part of our coveted BW Signature Collection. Our 47 elegantly decorated bedrooms include executive rooms and suites, as well as rooms with disabled access. Our popular Dee Valley Suite even has its own private balcony with a hot tub. There is onsite parking for 80 cars, plus free Wi-Fi in all areas and an excellent choice of dining options to make your stay as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
6.7 Good
Pros: This for us was just a quick night away to try relax and unwind. Upon arrival the receptionist was very helpful and polite... our room was an exec double.. to our room we went after unpacking and put our stuff in bathroom..unfortunately it didn’t look like it had been cleaned
Cons: Just the slight confusion regarding eating and lack of menus... at dinner.. very young staff and not always on same wavelength... hope that makes sense... we wanted pudding but unfortunately didn’t get it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: room and spa
Cons: Breakfast was over priced for what you got
5.1 Okay
Pros: The "Junior Suite" (which is actually a larger bedroom and a bathroom) is a completely different and higher standard of room. I was moved to this room eventually, after complaining about the poor quality of the first two rooms provided.
Cons: Standard room in the older part of the hotel (and I tried two) were of poor quality. Poor and tired decor, cobwebs, stains and broken furniture. The bar food was of dubious quality for the price e.g. £11.95 for a burger (which was quite literally a dry meat pattie in a bun, with no tomato, no onions, no lettuce) and fries. Wifi only works in the "suites" section of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I HAD A ROOM WITH BATHTUB THIS TIME.
Cons: I didn't like the stopper of bathtub worked very bad. I didn't like I couldn't use the steam room cause no hot steam this time.It happened and night and morning .Even I asked for hot steam during my trip I had just Swedish sauna

8.0 Excellent
Pros: how helpfull the staff were at the hotel and how clean and comfy the whole stay was oh and the price was fairly reasonable.
5.3 Okay
Pros: Convenient - comfortable food was very good
Cons: It was explained when we arrived that the television signal was paying up, and that we would have problems with some channels - we were told that an engineer would be putting it right that afternoon but no improvement was seen - we stayed at this hotel approx a year ago and had the same problem, coincidence or not?
8.0 Excellent

Pros: Location very good. Staff very Good. Bar , reception & restaurant nice. Good views from restaurant. Plenty of car parking. Staff hard working & multi skilled. Chilli nice on evening meal. 6.0 Good
Pros: Warm and cosy. Clean Lovely fires.comfotable bed slept very well. Good breakfast staff very friendly
Cons: Warm and cosy. Staff very friendly. Bed Very comfortable bathroom in need of an update i.e. leaking shower and damaged sink. Menu quite limited and expensive for what it was
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The cooked breakfast was a reasonable size.
Cons: The room was cold even with the radiator on full. Couldn't get a signal on the tv even after following the printed instructions in the room. The wi-fi was only intermittent. There was only a very small jug of milk on the breakfast table and none anywhere else to enable you to have a bowl of the cereal which was provided. The room was small and hardly any room to pass the bed to get to the other side. Two of the lights weren't working and one of them was the one by the make up/shaver mirror. All in all we have had better rooms elsewhere for less than half of what we paid at this hotel. The drinks from the bar were expensive as were the meals.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I'd previously read that the breakfast was award winning. I could not disagree with that description. The whole location for the West Arms hotel was outstanding. Really looking forward to a return journey in the future.
Cons: There is nothing that we didn't like about our stay at the West Arms hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is cosy, informal and welcoming. The rooms are nice and the food is delicious. Great wine list, couldn't go wrong. The bar has great beers and superb chef special sausage rolls. Definitely worth a visit to this beautiful location.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, good size room, comfortable bed, ability to be able to take the dog into most areas of the hotel, warm friendly welcome
Cons: Kitchen smells from kitchen fan directly outside room window, but didn’t last all light. Also booking.com advertise adding evening meal for £25pp. This is inaccurate as there is no £25 menu at the hotel and if meal choice exceeds this cost then customer pays the difference, booking.com should make this clearer. A lot of hype about the food, did not reach the heights of our expectations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location in a quiet but quaint village. Hotel beautiful cosy with log fires wonderful food
Cons: little bit more choice for a vegetarian but guess this isn't a priority in an area of agriculture!

Pros: The suite was fabulous, particularly loved the bath in bedroom in the bay window with gorgeous views of surroundings. We went for a relax and chill and that’s exactly what the room provided ultimate relaxation. The decor was spot on everything went together. The man who greeted us was lovely. Will be returning and have recommended to family and friends.
Cons: That we only booked one night would have loved to stay longer
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed in the cottage, everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
