Il Borgo di Genova - Genoa - Bedroom
1
9.2 Excellent (197 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Il Borgo di Genova in Genoa (San Fruttuoso), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Luigi Ferraris Stadium and Piazza de Ferrari.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation is in an old but very nice/ typical Italian building, close by Brignole train/ metro station. So the location is very good (Brignole train/ metro station is one of the main stations in Genoa). You can find nearby different stores and trattoria(s). If you would like, you can walk to the (old) city center, Genoa Porto Antico, Piazza Ferrari, etc (15-30 minutes). The rooms are very clean and the bed is comfortable. The owner is very friendly and is always around, ready to help/ provide you with information you might need.
Cons: There is a small (and probably busy in the morning) pedestrian street, which is used in the morning to easily reach the metro/ train station. It could be a bit noisy in the morning but if you keep the window close there is no problem.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room and bathroom! Friendly and helpful the owner of the guesthouse. Recommended!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The host was really friendly and helpful. The location suited my needs very well - it is really close to Brignole station although unfortunately I got off the train at Principale. The room was immaculately clean, bed comfortable, room quiet and neither hot nor cold, high ceilings, pleasing decorations.
Cons: I thought there would be breakfast but there wasn't. There are quite a few steps (41) up to the room I stayed in. The wall socket isn't convenient for the kettle. No big deal with any of that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing. The neighborhood were very clean and quiet. We very enjoyed staying at this hotel. We even got a map which showed us great places to go. We recommend to stay at this hotel because the atmosphere where the best.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Quiet, cleanliness, staff, comfort. In addition it is logistically superior, just 50m away from the Underground and Brignole Train Station
Cons: Anything

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host, gave us many good tips.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. A big and quiet room #Room5 Location is very good, 2mins from Metro Station, 10/15mins from start of main shopping street, Staff are helpful and very friendly
Cons: Even though the bathroom was really nice, big bath, the hot water was temperamental. Not a massive issue, I never took the time to report this to the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Giovanni is a wonderful host. It was my second time staying there and it was brilliant. Every time I visit Genova I shall only stay at il Borgo

Pros: Very modern style in a very old building. Tricky to find though in the rabbit warren that is old Genoa. Those streets must date back over 200 years and Iyhink I got lost more there than.in Venice!
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were lovely and the room was cleans.
Cons: So unsafe, no cameras and it seems to be in the middle of nowhere.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely loved the hotel, perfect location close to the centre and the port. Great breakfast selection, everything was top! And add a lift to the square for the bus!
Cons: Nothing!!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully restored floor of an old palace that was used for dignitaries in the 15th century. Quite unique and modern. Quiet. Great location for visiting Genova & day trips.
Cons: Difficult to find. Park at Porto Antico near aquarium, walk across street, enter at Delfin bar & put Santa Maria delle Vigne into your phone. It is across from this church. You cannot drive to the hotel. It seems like a sketchy area if you arrive at night, but it is fine. Many stores, restaurants nearby.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It felt like living in an apartment due to the hotel being part of a residential building. The setting opposite the Sancta Maria della Vigne church is perfect.
Cons: If you aren't too clever climbing steep stairs up or down to the bed area, be vigilant when booking your room..some have beds on the level..best enquire from hotel if booking which room number has bed on level if you have problems with stairs..

Pros: Very nice building with shiny marble floor in the lobby, it looks like a small mansion. The room is spacious, bed is comfortable , bathrooms is nice with large and fluffy towels. It is in a quiet suburb of Genova, but the center is only 15 minutes by taxi, and it only costs 12 EUR for a ride . It is a much better option than staying in the noisy center of Genova where parking is impossible and traffic is crazy. Here you can relax ,and take a taxi to the center if you want. 4.3 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: No room service. Guests must walk to the lobby to get shampoos/towels. Car valet isn’t actually a car valet. Once you give the lobby your car’s key, you cannot have your car until the next morning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, situation in the town, parking, amability of the personnel
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location cannot be better - the hotel is on the main street, walking distance to most of the museums and to the old port, less than a 100 meters from a subway station that leads to the two major railway stations in Genoa. The breakfast was great, especially if you choose to sit on the terrace. Our room was relatively large for an hotel, with plenty of closet space. And, of course, the historic staircase in the hotel is an attraction for itself.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: great location. Nice room with comfortable bed. Very high ceilings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, so elegant and classy design, spatious room, very good breakfast, center situated.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Beautiful building with classic decoration. It really feels like a palace. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable bed. Bathroom had all the amenities and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend it. We had dinner in the restaurant in the hotel as we arrived quite late in the evening. Food was delicious, highly recommended, particularly the tasting menus.
Cons: Nothing.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Not much

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is beautiful with excellent rooms and views of the marina. The staff was welcoming and accommodating, and the buffet breakfast in the morning was excellent. We loved the views and the in-room espresso machine!
Cons: We loved everything about the hotel, it is just that the area at night feels a little run down and questionable. It is important to keep your eyes open if you walk around at night.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is just in front of the marina, the room have a balcony with a nice view. The bed is giant and confy !
Cons: The breakfast is really nice but a little expensive
8.8 Excellent
Pros: great location, short drive off the main highway to the airport, on the marina near many family friendly attractions and short distance to walk to the main center of town. Comfortable rooms, had a balcony overlooking the marina you are on. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. There is a restaurant/ bar which is a great place to grab a few drinks before heading to dinner with a cozy patio on the marina.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has spacious and comfortable rooms and is in a great location for exploring the old centre of the city just 5 minutes walk away. It also sufficiently far from the main road and flyover along the quayside to avoid the noise and fumes from the traffic. Convenient and accessible on-site parking (if rather expensive).
Cons: It was great to have a balcony on which to sit and admire the cityscape and the yachts moored below - just a pity it was so small that you could barely move on it. Overall however the hotel's communal areas are rather too characterless to feel welcoming - it probably doesn't matter as you will want to sit in pavement cafe or walk the old streets of the nearby city.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel offers an incredible view of the marina and of the old town which is only a 10 minute walk away. There was a lovely terrace bar to watch the boats bobbing whilst sipping a cold glass of wine.
Cons: There were plastic straws at the bar.
6.8 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good, the breakfast staff were very good (unlike the reception staff, hence my lower overall score for staff). The beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom were cleaned on a daily basis. Our toiletries were replaced when we finished them which is unusual but appreciated.
Cons: The room we booked was advertised as having a view and a terrace, not a balcony but a terrace. If you look at a regular double room it is advertised as a balcony but if you upgrade to a premium room it comes with a terrace. I was gutted when we arrived to find out that the view was the back of the aquarium (like big industrial units) and the terrace was 1x2 ft balcony. We paid a premium to get a view and a terrace and we got neither. Straight away I went down to reception to confirm that we had the correct room and was met by blank stares, the view is the view and all the balcony's are the same size. When I asked if I could get the room with the terrace I was told they did not have any rooms with a terrace. It ruined my holiday, I was expecting somewhere to sit in the sun looking out over the harbour - not a tiny balcony which did not get the sun looking out at industrial units - we were there for 7 nights - it was a slog to stay the whole time and if there had been a way to cancel and get our money back I would have.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, view are A*
Cons: Dated design
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were very pleased with everything. Staff were helpful, friendly, service and cleanliness excellent. Breakfast was one of the best we've experienced. Location was really peaceful but close to the busy city shops and restaurants and the Marina was very interesting to look out over. The room was sound proofed and very quiet.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s real 4 stars hotel, with all meanings.. It deserves extra half star too
Cons: The floor had grains of sands. Nothing else
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room Size was great

Pros: Location was perfect. Close to city centre, restaurants, bars and points of interest. Breakfast was very good and good value at Euro 5. Staff were very friendly and eager to help. They were also happy and welcoming.
Cons: No car parking at the hotel. You need to park at different location which is a little expensive at Euro 22 per day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very central, lovely staff, excellent shower.
Cons: TV was terrible. No Sky, no sport. But was not there to watch TV. Bar fridge was tiny, lacked ice but staff provided.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really kind, great and helpful.
Cons: Floor was not really clean, not pleasant for those who remove shoes inside.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were marvellous and the room was comfortable but a bit small for a large bed .Wi Fi worked well and the buffer style breakfast was excellent. When I return to Genoa,I will stay there again.
Cons: It is no fault of the hotel, but Genoa like most cities in the world has severe parking problems. I was on a motorcycle and had to scour the surrounding streets to find somewhere to park. If you can visit this wonderful city without a car or motorcycle, you will save yourself a great deal of stress.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location - in the old town center, you can easily walk everywhere by feet. We stayed with your dog. We were pleasantly surprised that the staff brought us dog bowls and bed - it was really nice :) Breakfast was good. Wifi was super fast. Room was a bit outdated but the bathroom was really nice and big.
Cons: Room was a bit dark and our window was just a 2 meters from another building wall, but probably in Genoa, it is hard to get a better view since every building is close to each other.
7.0 Good
Pros: The bad was comfortable, good view from the room hotel near to the Porto antico and piazza Ferrari...nice personnel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff. Very friendly and excellent breakfast
9.3 Excellent

Cons: The shower isn't very private. It was quite pricey.

Meliá Genova - Genoa - Building
8
8.9 Excellent (1,565 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Meliá Genova is a delicious five-star boutique hotel, located in the elegant residential area of Genoa, just a short walk from the historic center. Classic and imposing on the outside, modern and elegantly decorated in a contemporary style inside, the hotel welcomes its guests in a warm atmosphere, making it the ideal location for corporate and private events, cocktails or celebrations with a refined taste. The historical building was designed by architect Giuseppe Crosa Vergagni in 1929, the same who gave life to the famous and historical Piazza De Ferrari in Genoa city center and other important buildings of the city. Many are the thematic events organized for customers during the year, a journey into the world of art, starting from the cuisine, which underlines paintings exhibitions and live music by always different artists, making Meliá not only a location but an experience to live.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Yes
Cons: None
5.5 Okay
Pros: The location is good, but if you are not used to walking about and climbing hills then it is not good. The staff were very friendly and we could not criticise them at all. Especially the older gentleman and barman who served us drinks in the evening - thank you. Would have liked an area to sit outside and chill, instead of indoors. The two units outside the hotel looked like to two fish bowls and are not conducive to relaxing.
Cons: The breakfast was reasonable, but we had to ask for coffee instead of in a 5* hotel the person showing you to your table would normally ask you what you would like to drink. Also the orange juice glass container had a fly in it. Not sure what swim stroke it was doing. One night the AC starting dripping on the floor and when we turned the lights on, they blew out. We must admit the hotel fixed the problem straight away. There were no tissues in the room, no shower caps, etc. The small things are what makes a hotel a 5*. Unfortunately we would rate the Melia a 4*+ aiming to be a 5*.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, pleasant and professional staff, very nice location within easy walking distance to the historic centre, fantastic breakfast choices and bonus of a little spa area in the basement. This was our second stay and we loved it just as much as the first time.
Cons: Although our room was very nice, the configuration was a little strange - you appeared to enter the bathroom through what looked like a cupboard door beside the bed. Not really an issue - we had a small room this time and when we stayed in a larger room on a previous visit I don't remember the same layout, but it was a little challenging trying to find the door in the middle of the night!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really fresh food, and good variety. Plus the best waiter in all of Italy. It was in a great location in a residential neighborhood, but only 10 minutes walking to Christopher Columbus‘s old house in the ancient city. Close to the waterfront, Europe’s largest aquarium, live music concerts, fantastic restaurants, street life, etc.
Cons: I didnt notice if it said the pool was indoors in the literature—I chose this hotel specifically because I wanted to enjoy an outdoor pool. No big deal...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the spacious and vlean room, the gentleness of the staff and the excellent quality of the breakfast.
Cons: The breakfast coffee should be improved; was not really at the level requested by celebrated italian standards. The garage fee is quite expensive, should be lowered to a more reasonable price
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's a beautiful historical building in a lovely area, just 5 min walking and you enjoy a stunning view of the sea. Spa zone is nice, but quite small. Breakfast is good, especially the ligurian cuisine corner
Cons: You expect a five star experience but get less. The hotel looks a bit tired - definately needs some renovation. In the bathroom there is a mirror that shoud turn into a tv, but the batteries in the remote control are dead. There is a mini bar and it says if you touch anything it's automatically added to the bill. So if you touched but didn't consume you had to call the reception..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great room with a beautiful balcony.
Cons: Restaurant was expensive.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I didn’t like that it was not available a beauty-kit And I didn’t like the gym .. technology too old or broken
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was amazing, clean, large rooms and beds. Issues with air con but this was repaired and dealt with by the hotel offering to move us too other room whilst being repaired. Excellent breakfast and we really appreciated as a family the pool.
Cons: Air con issues, leaked in room But was resolved. However checkout was very stressful due to no documented refund being recorded as verbally agreed by manager and taxi was waiting outside!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All
Cons: Nota
10.0 Excellent
Pros: BeUtiful room so comfortable

9.3 Excellent
Pros: +great location + positive and helpful staff + cleanness + breakfast was also okay, even with cheese hah + well-equipped kitchen + convenient check-in/checkout + people were also nice : calm, polite and well-behaved
Cons: - in my opinion, 25€ per night in the dorm for 12 people is too much, but you can’t find anything cheaper with the same quality in Genova. And nobody bothered me so i even didn’t mention that this room was for 12 :)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to go everywhere!
Cons: I got bed bugs.

Pros: Breakfast was great. My friend is gluten free and they purchased gluten free breakfast items for her and we're very accommodating. We also arrived pretty late because of our bus, but she waited for us and was very nice.
Cons: It was a little warm and a fan would have been nice to have.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The building is easy to find, close to the metro, and main station. We have been nicely welcomed, the room and the bathroom were clean.
Cons: The room is facing the main road so we couldn't leave the window open because of the noise and the pollution.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was very well organized; everything from the clean rooms to the facilities (toweletries, linen, breakfast) were prepared in the most suitable and comfortable way. She made us feeling like at home and at the same time it was clear that everybody should respect the rules of co-existence! Therefore, the bathroom and toilet in common looked as if it was private! The espresso was excellent. I strongly recommend this B and B, that is also value for money 100%!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostess is the sweetest lady, very well taken care of apartment. The whole apartment was really clean. There are 2 common bathroom and 3 bedrooms. Our bedroom was really comfortable and cool. Eventhough it faces the street insulation is perfect, the room was silent. Breakfast was really rich for an Italian breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. Such a lovely place.

On the right, a simple Focacciaria that also have all you need for a breakfast. Anna, the daughter of the owner, is a real treasure. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel, right in the city centre and only 5 minutes walk from the main station and the harbour. Good room size, bearing in mind the age of the building, and a great modern bathroom.
Cons: The access to the car park is a little 'tight'. We had a Peugeot 208 and the alleyway to access the car park was only about 5 cms wider than the car. Staff were very helpful in directing us in to the car park though.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fresh hotel, friendly and helpful staff.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was very nice. The room was very clean although the walls were very thin. However, the street parallel to the street of the hotel wasn’t nice at all it should be avoided at all costs. There are many other routes that can be used as the hostess will explain. The location is very good it is in the center of the city.

Pros: Great spacious room and bathroom.
Cons: No lift to the rooms past ground level.

Pros: - Excellent staff. Lady behind the reception was very helpful and friendly. - Clean rooms. - The private parking spot was very nice to have! - The airconditioning is a big plus in the summer - Excellent price/value
Cons: - There're no facilities for eating. But hey, you're in a 2 star hotel. The value of the place is amazing. Also, there are tons of amazing Italian restaurants in the neighbourhood. - We have a small car and had no trouble to park the car. If you have a big (wide) car it might be difficult to get to the parking. The street to the hotel is very narrow.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, cozy retreat from the city. Very central location.
Cons: A bit hot in the room.. Ac definitely helped but not fully comfortable. Asked for double bed and got two twin beds.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. Personnels very kind and helpful.
Cons: It was raining all day :-(
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close but not in the middle of everything.
6.8 Good
Pros: The property was nice. However the staff seems unmotivated and a bit unfriendly - no smiles on arrival nor when we entered in the evening. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was okay - the shower in the bathtub is just not useful - it creates a bath that is just a little to small and a shower that is just not nice. However all was clean and the bed/room comfortable.
Cons: Unfriendly staff - small and weak shower and small bathtub
6.3 Good
Pros: Area is very convenient to cafes and shopping
Cons: I booked an XL room like the one in the pictures that has a balcony, only to be told by staff that they don’t have those rooms and booking.com put those on there. I wouldn’t have paid for a larger room for my daughter and I to stay if it didn’t have a balcony. Pictures in listing SHOULD reflect true rooms. Very disappointed. Makes me question booking thru here next time. I will go directly to hotel website.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was quite good, rooms were clean and large
Cons: Shower stall was 70cm x 70 cm . Extremely small and if you drop your shampoo bottle , you end up bumping yourself everywhere. Pulled a muscle trying to retrieve a shampoo bottle off the floor as there was no shelf to put a bar of soap or shampoo. Water leaking out of shower stall thus endangering guest who steps out into a pool of water.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The kindness of the receptionist "Claudio" was just perfect, always available for any request. The room were nice and clean, the position of the hotel, near a small shopping center was great. The Continental breakfast, just like a 5 stars hotel :) Definitely the perfect hotel, to stay while visiting Genova.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel was modern and clean. Our flight arrived late, so it was a good solution until the rental car office opened the following day. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice (with a rain drop shower). Breakfast was decent.
Cons: The decor in the lobby is a little insipid and the hotel is located in an industrial zone. It is only 5 minutes from the airport.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large powerfull shower. Very clean room with big comfy bed Nice variety at breakfast. Excellent for 1 night stop over.
Cons: Underground parking area very large but no signs, easy to loose location where you have parked. Door to hotel lift again not easy to see.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a pleasant stay, four minutes drive to the airport. The local streets were fun to explore with welcoming bars and cafes. There is an underground garage but free limited parking above.
Cons: Access was difficult, a specific access map would be helpful on booking as hotel is a grey building not marked except for a sign on the road side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent and the whole hotel was well kept, comfortable and clean, would definitely return
Cons: Nothing ro report, but then we were only an overnight stay which meant we arrived at 01.00 and were gone by 11.00, that said everything went very smoothlyhence nothing to report
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Knowledgeable staff Very helpful Shuttle service from airport
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good rooms, Good prices, friendly staff! Dinner and breakfast tasteful.
Cons: Railways pretty close to the hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice room, accurate building, good staff
Cons: No accessories available for the bathroom. On a plate in the wall is writing that if you need something like sewing kit or similar, you have to call the reception!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff as well as the abilities to have meals on site.
Cons: Nothing.
7.0 Good
Pros: I really liked the tub & mini condiment reserve I liked that after the consierge made two mistakes he took time to make up for them that was very nice & set things right
Cons: I didn’t like that after waiting a long time 30 mins I had someone call & instead of explaining that the driver had been in an accident I was only told to wait in a different area So after waiting another 30 mins I was very worried & stressed it was another guest who explained things to me Also I was not told how to activate the lights in the room so after a very long day finally getting to my room I undress & suddenly find myself in the dark trying every light only to fumble find clothes in a very dark room & go down to the desk then to be told how one has to enter the key into a slot in the room to activate the lights *** kind of extremely important info that neede to be given at check in again they were sorry for mistakes & made up for them but 2nd one at least could have been avoided

8.0 Excellent
Pros: All was good except that the pool is really too small
Cons: The swimming pool
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The spa downstairs is gorgeous. Staff are amazing. The hotel really does live up to expectations. All round, an excellent stay!
Cons: Provide Ice water in the reception especially when it’s hot.
7.7 Good
Pros: Good bathroom, comfortable bed, courteous & helpful staff.Breakfast was a good experience and the food and service at the trattoria is excellent.Pity the water shortage meant the spa was shut.
Cons: The first room:TV and bedside lamp did not work. The second room layout had not been well thought out to enable easy use of the available facilities.
7.0 Good
Pros: The interior design of the hotel (although rooms are quite outdated) Price was fair Nice view on the terrace Staff tries to be helpful
Cons: Location: quite far from the city center, and next to the train station (definitely not the best location for evening walks) Absence of pool, while hot tub is just next to the restaurant tables (I.e. someone could be having bath just next to you eating) Rooms are very small, furniture is antique, but in quite bad condition Parking costs 25 eur + TAX (which you’re not informed about btw), and you need to wait while they bring your car back. Several times we had to wait for 15-20 minutes! Breakfast is not 5* level (they use palm oil for frying, and it tastes quite badly) Ironing room is on one floor, and for whatever reason you need to ask someone bring you an iron, because it’s not there! It is quite weird to have 1 iron for the hotel which supposed to be 5* Extremely limited choice of food for out-of working hours of the restaurant (eg late evening, for instance )
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: This hotel cannot be rated as a 5 stars, it doesn't deserve the rating it got on booking.com so far. Below are some of the things that were really wrong with this hotel: - the room itself: is very dated, while the old style of the room is to be appreciated, the furnishing and bed covers were very old, I am not even sure when was the last time that orange bed cover or bed head were washed. - the breakfast: the idea to have someone play piano during breakfast is nice, but it was way too loud. Also the service was a bit understaffed if you were deciding to have breakfast after 9h30, they were barely managing to find you a table, get you coffee etc. - the parking: this was our biggest disappointment. we paid 75EUR for 3 nights to have our car parked in a secure parking and when we got it the last day, it was scratched. I find this unacceptable, especially that both the parking valet and the lady at the reception said in Italian (so that we don't understand, but we did) that we complain too much and that you cannot even see the scratch. - you cannot sleep after 9 o'clock in this hotel, the cleaning lady starts cleaning a bit before 9 and wakes up everyone with the noise, sometimes on holiday guests would appreciate sleeping late. Overall, this hotel needs refurbishing to live to its 5 stars standard, the services need to be improved.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Dirty, expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great ambiente of Genovas ancient days of glorious merchant times. Like the movie Grand Budapest.
Cons: The pools are place in the terreace with all the guest, that was not comfortable for its use.

Cons: Not a very clean place.Needs repainting and redecorating.Definitely NOT a 5 star standard. Piano player at breakfast was playing so loud we barely could hear each other speaking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect location next to the train station. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly and the room was spacious.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
4.3 Okay

Cons: Everything was great
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, and room design
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Large room and well decorated. Big bathroom. Comfortable couch and bed. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Pricy and noisy. Being on a near top floor we could hear everyone entering the hotel after the front entrance was closed. Noise carries throughout hallway.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very beautiful hotel right opposite the train station Principe, which is very convenient for the ones who want to explore the riviera and surprisingly safe as well. The hotel gave us portable wifi (really useful) and let us use the jacuzzi of the grand hotel savoia. All in all, great experience.
Cons: Breakfast could have been included in price and the reception should stay open 24/7, because after 23:00, you have to enter the hotel through the hotel next door and it s too much trouble. Other than that, everything was great.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean and cool with effective AC. The position was perfect for us, as we used it as a stopover between Cinque Terre and Lake Garda. It was a little noisy with the traffic outside, but to be expected with it being so central.
Cons: As above, a little noisy and you had to pay extra for breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property was exceptional. It is now probably my favorite hotel. It is absolutely beautiful. The location is fantastic. It is very clean. The complimentary bottle of water they give you each day is a really nice touch. My room (executive double room) was huge. I love this place

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the place
Cons: I love all
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, spacious rums.
Cons: Breakfast not included in a B&B.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was right across the road from the railway station but didn't have that horrible railway station area feel that some cities have! It was in fact far better than I expected. Our room was very large and beds comfortable. There was a very quaint old fashioned lift! The breakfast area was fine. They had vending machines downstairs for all sorts of things like ready meals, ice creams, snacks and drinks. That was excellent idea - and very useful!
Cons: No complaints for one night's stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great and just nearby the railway station
Cons: The lift system has some rooms to be improved; Don't have any hot water for drinking inside the room
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location, close to Principe railway station. Breakfast ok - hostel style
Cons: Beds too soft, floors a bit shabby.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, practical, excellent location. Friendly, professional, multilingual staff. Basic comfort.

Cons: Very good location, clearness.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: N/A
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location near the railway station and the airport shuttle bus stop, clean rooms, comfy bed, tasty breakfast, lift is available
Cons: It's impossible to regulate the mode of the air con in the room, i.e. change from moving fan to a static position. Floor is made of stone with no carpets, thus, cold to walk on without shoes/slippers. The hotel could consider putting slippers in rooms.
Hotel Britannia - Genoa - Bedroom

7.7 Good (4,127 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Britannia in Genoa (Prè), you'll be a 4-minute walk from Galata Maritime Museum and 11 minutes by foot from Palazzo di San Giorgio. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location near the Principe station, places to sit and have a drink nearby at night. Good breakfast. The aircon worked well
Cons: Rooms quite dark and old fashioned and in need of an update all round. Dodgy looking sockets and TV never worked
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was nice and room for 4 was spacious.
Cons: Only problem was the air con was at one side of the room, so one of the beds stayed very warm.
7.5 Good
Pros: For the price this was OK and the locality to the port to met cruise departures was ideal, perhaps I had high expectations, but the room was not quite as expected, quite dated, but the air-con worked, it seemed clean, and as we wern't spending too much time there it was OK, I wouldn't want to stay there for too long though.
Cons: it was quite dated, needs a refresh, but perhaps the price paid for a family of 4, given the location, and time of year we travelled, then we perhaps got what we paid for... it suited our purpose and whilst I might look else where next time, I would happily stay there again if I couldn't find anything else.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Very good location, hotel is in a good spot, walking distance to old harbor and ferries - so nothing more to wish for.
Cons: Breakfast was simple, not very tasty. Parking was horrible - we were told there was SELF-parking available but then it turned out we needed to leave key in car regardless. Felt uncomfortable and uneasy about this - leaving our car with lots of stuff with key in lot. Decided to find street parking - eventually found in 15 min walking distance. So, okay - Italy is easy on leaving keys with car in lot - but would you leave a 100'000 EUR car with luggage inside in a shady narrow place along with keys? I was disappointed since I asked about self parking many times before and was told there ist - which turned out to be a "I will move your car" parking. Not amused.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, just a few minutes walk from the railway station, maybe 10 minutes walk to the aquarium and marina. We had a family room for 4 people, which was very spacious. The rumours about the home made breakfast croissants are true - they're delicious.
Cons: A little in need of a refurbish, but very good value so I'm not complaining.
6.3 Good
Pros: location
Cons: a bit old, outdated
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked that is close to the train station.
Cons: The hotel is not improved it has old furniture, and i didn't liked the smeel of the room, there are a lot of odd smells coming from outside and the ac is old fashion whith odd smell.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Britannia is located within easy walk of the railway station, the historic centre of town and many restaurants and cafes. Our room was comfortable and quiet even though it faced the street. Breakfast is well catered with plenty of options. The staff are friendly and helpful.

6.2 Good
Pros: The reception people was very helpful and nice.
Cons: The room was small and the queen bed was made with two individual mattress, it is uncomfortable because you feel the division
6.0 Good
Pros: very close to the center of the city and the train station
Cons: Very, very hard to find with GPS and a good sense of direction. Small hotel signage at the end of a busy one way street - with very limited parking. Good if you are walking or taking a cab - nightmare if you are driving.
