the service was very poor and the staff expected tip for any basic thing every day. They were forcing and asking directly for tips. any additional basic servies like bikes are paid extra. The beach is small. I got food poisoned in the hotel restaurant
the staff were so friendly. there was great care taken with the turtles nesting at the time we were visiting.
not really an ideal beach as difficult to swim at but rooms facing the sea made waking up a pleasure.
Very nice houses by the sea
Quite long waiting time for breakfast because we were a group of 8
The room was lovely - well-designed and very comfortable with a sea view. Breakfast was good, as was happy hour. Helpful staff who changed my booking after a bereavement. It was a privilege to see the turtles laying their eggs on the beach.
The seaweed issue really spoils the outlook. All day, men are hard at work trying to clear it but it is a constant, thankless battle and the amount of seaweed means you can't swim in the sea (the photo on the bookings.com website is deceiving). I would not have booked this hotel had I been aware of the situation. In addition, I paid a lot for the room. There were lots of good offers in Tulum because of the seaweed and I felt I was penalised for booking in advance (the cancellation policy is strict). The tipping is also annoying. Even when breakfast was included, we were invited to tip and at every other opportunity too. Surely hotels of this calibre should pay staff a decent wage so that tipping is a welcome addition? The water in the swimming pool was bath temperature.
The personnel is simply amazing. Special remarks to Denise and to Edwin, they were always attentive, and carefull with my family.
The amount of sargassum, but we understand this is not a problem of the hotel, and we appreciated the entire day efforts of the team to clean the beach.
