Fantastic waterfront hotel near San Marco
The location was fantastic. Buffet breakfast in the morning was delicious and the restaurant is great for people watching at any time - the staff is wonderful. One of the best Aperol Spritz I've ever had. The room was large and despite how busy it was outside, it was very quiet inside - it even had electric shades to get the room really dark. Venetian glass chandelier and lamps were a beautiful touch.
The hairdryer was awful - really needs to be upgrade. The cost was extremely high and I'm not sure it was worth that amount. The bed was like sleeping on a board - but some people may like it that hard, and the pillows were flat and hard. A few simple upgrades would have made the stay much better.
My stay in Venice
The hotel is located right in the middle of the tourism.boat access was simple and walking along waterfront at night was delightful. Hotel room was small but upgraded bathrooms were clean and nice. Gym was high tech with treadmill bike and weights but many runners opt for the waterfront unless too late in the day and the crowds make it impossible to get around
Upgrade carpets and Bedspreads tv had very spotty reception Ac unit would click 3times and turn on
Location. View of rooms facing the canal.
A great place to stay
It is a great place to stay because it is a stone throw away from St. Marks Square. The water bus that took us to the airport stopped right in front of the hotel, which made the it easy for us to travel to the airport with our big suitcases.
Beautiful old hotel. small rooms, but efficient and comfortable for 2 people. Great decorative touches in the room. Our room had views of the grand canal, with windows that could've opened for a fresh breeze off the water. Breakfast included in the price of stay, and was delicious, with many options on the buffet, fresh made cappuccinos, and views of the water. Extremely easy access to vaporetto, minutes walk from San Marco and many restaurants and shops. Very friendly English speaking staff
A con for some: we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our room even after taking the elevator, which was fine for us, but may be problematic or some; the elevator was tiny, which seems fairly standard for Italy, but good to know. In general recommend packing light, no matter where you stay as navigating over bridges in the city can be challenging with big bags!
Location, super nice staff, new rooms.
For the price we were expecting a better view on the room. On the contrary we were situated on a back building
The location of the hotel was ideal. It is a very short walk to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is also right next to some water ferry stations, which makes transportation easy. The staff serving breakfast were great.
Air conditioner was not working.
Take a water taxi to Piazza San Marco and you are only a few steps to the hotel. The hotel included a free boat trip to Murano to see a glass blowing studio and they also offer a one-hour boat tour around town in the afternoon for only 25 Euros per person. A decent hot and cold breakfast buffet was provided by the restaurant out front. We also enjoyed a dinner of traditional Italian specialties at the same restaurant in the evening. Our room was an inside room, so our view was only the courtyard area - but that was okay because all we had to do was step out the front door of the hotel and we were in the heart of beautiful scenery. If you request a waterfront room you will have gorgeous views. Our room seemed to be recently updated because everything looked clean and brand new. The bathroom was small but very modern with a relatively large walk-in shower - and it also looked like it had been recently renovated. The hotel common areas were undergoing renovations during our stay, but it did not disturb our visit at all.
The hotel thought of everything - like a selection of soap products, hair dryer, mirrors, convenience packs, robes, etc., but it took up a great deal of space in an already tight bathroom.
Gorgeous rooms and friendly staff!
My room was amazing Overlooking water Great decor Bathroom was awesome
Loved everything. Really!
Very dirty furniture.
There are so many great cities in Italy, but few cities bring so much unique atmosphere to travelers the way Venice does. The Venetian atmosphere is perhaps the most exotic of all Italy. With influences from Eastern Europe and a long history of trading with the Arab world, Venice is truly in a class all its own. And then the canals. Staying in Venice can be a bit tricky, but the key is to find a hotel that displays a proper sense of Italian hospitality. Service is very important, but so is having a room with an amazing view. In providing great amenities, excellent service, and a truly unique place to see Venice, the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda checks all the boxes.
When checking in to the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda, guests are immediately impressed with how authentically Venetian the hotel is. From its location on the banks of a canal and the beautiful piazza surrounding it, there’s no mistaking that guests are right in the heart of Venice. The staff at the hotel are quite happy to help guests. For travelers who aren’t Italian, Venice is confusing. The staff make sure that guests have everything they need quickly. The high-speed internet is available at no cost to the guest, and when arriving in the room, the views are to die for. It only gets better when collapsing onto the comfortable mattress after a long day of experiencing the best in Italian culture.
Staying at the Hotel Savoia & Jolanda is a great way to experience one of Italy’s great cities.
