I was charged an additional 153.08 dollars with the final charge. I'm not sure why as I returned the car early with a full tank of gas and there was absolutely NO damage to the car. I have also let Budget know this. I'm not happy with the extra charge.

Cons:

I filled the car with gas < 5km from the drop-off office; however, La Spezia office was closed from 11:30am - 2pm. I showed up at 1pm. Having no one to process the check-out, I left the keys in the box. Reviewing my bill, there’s a 70 Euro charge for fuel - despite my returning with a full tank.

Cons:

It came out that instead of paying 284 euros for a medium vehicle including tax, when I returned almost a full tank, I paid 518 euros for a small vehicle with double tax and a charge on another fuel tank. A very bad experience. Will not rent a car from Avis again.

They did not honor the price booked through Kayak. They would not change the driver information to my husband and charged us extra for a “new” reservation in his name, as well as dropping off in Milan, which was part of the original reservation.

Associates were kind and helpful. They upgraded our car at no extra cost. The car was perfect and the experience was such a nice change from our usual rentals!

Unfortunately they did not make it clear that unlike other international companies you must have a PHYSICAL international driver’s license to rent the car. Additionally they have zero flexibility for arrival time despite attempting to call multiple times. Ended up not giving me a refund either after not accepting my virtual intl drivers license and physical American one

They didn't have a car for us when we got there because we arrived a few hours late due to a delayed flight. They said it was a no show so they gave the car to someone else and then tried to charge us double to get another car. And they still charged us for the one they gave away and have not refunded

Finding the pick up and drop off was a nightmare and we lost hours of time. Not clear where to catch the shuttle bus in Rome. The locations are not proper on google maps and the address provided exists near the wrong airport in Milan. We loat 1. 5 hours. Also, terrible experience with Marco in Milan, so rude. Receptionists were nice. Car was fine.

Pros:

I rarely rent from Sixt since they came up expensive usually, but I had this great offer and it was not listed as Sixt but rather FLIZZR. The car war new and clean, No issues with picking up the car, very helpful customer service as I had experienced in former encounters with Sixt. Also the customer service representative hinted clearly on all and any pre-conditions (scratches, small dents), which I would have never been able to detect, since the rental place at the Cologne airport is rather a dark parking garage. I was even able to get an automatic for a small additional charge ($5 a day).

Cons:

The car, an Opel (Vauxhaul or General Motors), was supposed to be an automatic, but felt like a hybrid manual and had a very strange way to shift. Didn't shift smoothly, but I was stagnantly shifting, at least I did not have to shift manually.
