Car rental company was great and very helpful. KAYAK reservation was horrible!!! They reserved the wrong class of car for a false lower price!!! I will never use KAYAK again.Cons:

they didnt have a car for us, although the fact that we had a reservation. they told us things like "it's not your fault", "what do you want me to do". they told us to call the customer service for finding a solution but the customer service told us that we need to speak with the people in the store. because we already booked hotels in different places we had to find a car, a day after christmas day when all the companies are almost fully booked. it took us 4 hours until we found one, in a different company of course. don't order Budget/Avis (they work together) if you want agood experience.Sixt

I have been in a car accident (one which I am not responsible for) an NO ONE answered when I called Alamo. This is why I did not call the police to get a police report, and it was too late when I realized I should have. Alamo is a very bad company and I would not rent a car with them again.Europcar

new car, bluetooth, parking sensors, AC, nice infotainment center, easy pick-up / drop-off, good location right at the airport (no need of a shuttle, which is usually the case in US) friendly and courteous staff, price was unbeatable compared to other companiesCons:
need to buy vignettes for different countries (Hungary, Romania), but that is usually the case in Europe; I should have bought a 30-day vignette for Hungary, too, but I bought 2 10-day vignettes, which of course, are more expensive than a 30-day; (it was may mistake, I had rented the car for 10 days, but the vignettes are valid until the end of the 10-th day, not for 240 hours, like the rental car )7.2 Good

-location hard to find- it's inside Hertz balcony with no signs whatsoever. -Price was good, but I was asked for 2000euros of deposit (first 1000, after a mistake from the employee, then he apologized and said 2000) -I understand it's Hertz policy, but a rent a car costs 41.92euros, and the insurance 92 euros??? -left without renting the car, tried to cancel the reservation, but internet site very bad organised. -Kayak so far amazing experiences. It may have been in the small print which I didn't notice, the rental company in Vienna, Austria gave me a car registered in Slovakia with Slovakian plates and then charged me EUR 52 to drive to Slovakia??? In addition, they blocked EUR 100 from my credit card to secure this fee... and the manager was not there when I asked for explanation and only got "because the manager told us to..." Staff poorly trained in customer service and fees not making sense... I rented the car for a weekend with my family in Slovakia but when I opposed the fee o was told that "the fee is actually really convenient because I. An cross the border as many times I want and still only pay the one fee...."?!?! The total rental fee for 2 days was about 100 and the cross border fee made in 50% more expensive Not good at all, will make sure to avoid and spread the word...4.0 Mediocre

OVERCHARGED 50 EURO! Our flight was 45 minutes and we arrived at the rental counter at 11:10PM (reservation was for 10:00PM). The 1 day rental was 54 euro. However, Buchbinder charged an extra 50 euro because we arrived after 11:00PM. They provided no notice of this charge on the Kayak. They also didn't have our class of vehicle registered and tried to charge for an upgraded model. The clerk was insensitive and rude.8.0 Very Good

Upon return, the attendant indicated damage on the front allow wheel rim. I drove from rental car parking spot to another parking spot 5 hours away. Did not have an opportunity to rub rim against a curb to inflict damage. Damage seemed to be old, but attendant said it was not on the initial inspection. I can't take 30 minutes to inspect cars for minor wear and tear. Waiting on Buchbinder final assessment for damages.6.0 Okay

Pros:
I rarely rent from Sixt since they came up expensive usually, but I had this great offer and it was not listed as Sixt but rather FLIZZR. The car war new and clean, No issues with picking up the car, very helpful customer service as I had experienced in former encounters with Sixt. Also the customer service representative hinted clearly on all and any pre-conditions (scratches, small dents), which I would have never been able to detect, since the rental place at the Cologne airport is rather a dark parking garage. I was even able to get an automatic for a small additional charge ($5 a day).Cons:
The car, an Opel (Vauxhaul or General Motors), was supposed to be an automatic, but felt like a hybrid manual and had a very strange way to shift. Didn't shift smoothly, but I was stagnantly shifting, at least I did not have to shift manually.9.6 Wonderful
