  • When you’re booking your flights to Vienna, there are a handful of arrival airports that may pop up. Although there are five airports within the relative vicinity of Vienna, the only one that’s less than an hour away from the city centre is Vienna International Airport. Bratislava Airport is the next closest, but offers no advantages, as it lies further from the city in the same direction as Vienna International Airport.
  • The fastest way to the city centre from Vienna International Airport is via train. Central Vienna is just 16 minutes away from the airport via the City Airport Train (CAT), which costs around 12 euros (11 GBP) one-way and around 21 euros (19 GBP) for a return ticket. The train departs from the City Air Terminal every 30 minutes every day from 5:37am to 11:07pm, and offers travellers the ability to check their luggage directly and obtain their boarding passes before boarding the train.
  • For budget travellers, Vienna’s city centre can be accessed via the S-Bahn metro. • Parking at Vienna airport is charged hourly, and there are 3 short-term lots and 3 long-term lots. For Terminal 1 access, P3 is the closest with rates starting around 4.70 euros (4.20 GBP) hourly. If you’re heading to Terminals 2 or 3, P4 will be closer, offering the same rates as P3. PC is the cheapest with rates starting at 3.90 euros (3.30 GBP) per hour, but is a much longer walk to the terminals.
  • To rest and recharge, or simply grab a quick snack before your departure flight, Vienna International Airport features over 10 lounges. You can grab some nibbles from the buffet, have an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink or freshen up in one of the airport’s lounges for around 33 euros.
  • When planning your trip to Vienna from the UK, consider opting for flights with leading airlines that already include baggage allowance. It's often more cost-effective than low-cost carriers, and you'll avoid the hassle of added fees. For instance, SWISS offers pocket-friendly fares from London Heathrow (LHR), providing ample space for your carry-on and checked luggage.
  • If you're considering a self-transfer flight to Vienna, such as RyanAir flights from Edinburgh Turnhouse via Charleroi Brussels (CRL), be aware of potential challenges. Check the stopover times to ensure they allow sufficient transfer time. Also, you may need to collect and recheck your baggage during the stopover.

Empty seats next to me - wish it had been for a longer flight!!

I’m grateful for the KLM Air France shuttle bus service to Ottawa. However due to construction and other issues related to the chaotic Uber pickup system at YUL, it’s a challenge to find the Kelios bus service to Ottawa. The signs are not clear or even available. No staff to guide passengers. It’s a stressful experience.

Flight was on time, staff are friendly and helpful onboard.

Terrible last row seats many seats available but no offer to move to better seat

Flight was ok but lack of communication cost me to literally beg to be put on another flight as connecting flight had departed

Couldn’t get boarding pass in SLC even with help from a redcoat, so had to find a desk in AMS to get boarding pass. Technical problems so not sure why. Very inconvenient. The KLM app is not as user friendly as most apps. Also had to wait almost an hour on the tarmac for a fuel truck, which caused us to miss a connecting bus in LUX.

Over 1 Hr delay. No APU so no AC on ground. Plane was hot during boarding and then they closed the doors over 20 minutes before engine start so interior of plane was steamy hot and stuffy. Could have been helped by opening doors until ready to depart.

First of all we couldn’t check in online, then we learn at the airport we were on stand by for KLM’s mistake of overbooking. The seats were not comfy at all. Our luggage got lost.

Short flight so it was okay. Nice crew, all very pleasant and professional. We were near the back in row 27 so just as we got our drinks, we started our descent so had to drink very quickly!

The baggage drop-off in Stuttgart is bad: after online check-in you cannot use the automated baggage drop off as indicated on the website. You can use the terminals but have to cue to 1 of three open and slowly working counters to drop the bags. took about 45 minutes wait time.

We were delayed three hours from Montenegro to Vienna on our outbound flight and then rebooked an extra leg on our trip to the US. Our bags, which Austrian made us check in in Montenegro even though the flight was barely half full, didn't find us for ten days. Then, when we asked for compensation for the delay we were given the runaround that the flight originated outside of the EU. Next time we fly Turkish Air.

My Austrian Air flight from Montenegro to Vienna was delayed by three hours because their plane de-icer was broken and they had to wait for the sun to come up before the ice could melt. This meant we missed our United flight altogether. So I can't speak about United, but I was not impressed by Austrian Air. They made us check in two carry on bags for a 60% full flight, and the bags didn't find us in the US for ten days. The re-routing they arranged included an extra leg, a midnight taxi ride across New Jersey and New York, and a five hour sleep in a hotel. Not impressed.

Most of the crew members were rude, flight arrived late and we missed our connecting flight, they damaged my friends suitcase so badly that two wheels had been destroyed.

Excellent flight. The crew was exceptionally attentive and organized. Attention to details is unmatched.

Loved the courtesy and punctuality. Very professional and most importantly on time.

My layover in Vienna was supposed to be 35 minutes but because my flight was canceled I had to wait in the airport for an additional 8 hours.

Very limited legroom in a 10 hour flight.very old plane.

The flight was delayed for 30 minutes with no apparent reason. There is no entertainment at all, and no USB or electric outlets for charging your phone or tablet.

My flight was canceled and even though I paid אם KAYAK you didn't even answer me and obviously didn't refund my money. I will never buy a ticket through you again.

One thing I really liked about Austrian Airlines was that the flight attendants were very kind, and the in-flight entertainment offered many choices. One thing that could be improved is the meal service, since only a vegetarian option was offered — it would be better to have at least two choices.

Great flight just took some time to board even when lining up early for the flight, even taking off took longer then expected.

Take off was great but landing is always with a bump.

Flight was delayed by 1 hour 45 minutes. Aircraft was cramped, dirty and uncomfortable. Boarding staff more interested in charging you for oversize baggage than getting you on board. Overall not a pleasant experience.

The flight was 1h delayed. There was a flight attendant making announcements in the cabin, but it was impossible to understand whether the information was important or not. (Although whatever she was saying, it was clearly meant to be communicated to the passengers.) From the way she spoke, it sounded like Spanish, but only thanks to catching one word out of every five or six — mumbled through her teeth — I realized she was actually speaking English. It was quite embarrassing

A delay of almost 3 hours. It was evident that the staff wanted us to board urgently, to the point of rudeness, to avoid paying compensation

The table at my seat was dirty, the crew was nice, the boarding was swift. An average Ryanair experience but this time the plane was not properly cleaned between flights.

It's not the staff's fault. The cabin crew do their best but the setup in Stansted Airport by Ryanair is poor. The herding of people like cattle is unacceptable before boarding and is something that's in every airport but only in Stansted have I seen the queueing of passengers outside the plane on the tarmac and the crew only turning up with maybe 5 minutes to depart. This is a resource issue . Yes prices are good but seemingly comes with a price of poor treatment of customers. I'll pay more next time

On time arrival but the aircraft had seen better days and needed a deep clean.

It was appalling, full of young people who were drunk and disobeying instructions to sit down. Crew did nothing to enforce. There was a Ryanair pilot sitting in the aisle opposite me who talked through out the safety briefing so loudly I couldn’t hear. Whole thing felt unsafe

Delayed for 2 hours lack of communication no refreshments as promised and the drinks on board were not as ordered and refused to refund

Even when you get the priority pass the experience is not what it meant to be priority

I wasn't able to check in before because I had no internet on a long ride over and I had to pay Euro 50 all together I paid an extra Euro 200 on top of the original flight because I had suitcase and carry on and I wasn't able to check in online before And the end it ends up being more expensive flight than a regular carrier You don't save money and the plane is less comfortable

Surprisingly, a very good flight. No wonder that Wizz flights are always full.

Boarding from Teminal C, which requires long walking to it from main terminal A.

delayed flight, bag was delivered earlier than I landed, no even water was offered during the flight...

The 50 € boarding fees per ticket are completely unjustified. I lost all my savings because I arrived at the counter barely 5 minutes late (2hrs and 55mine before departure). This feels like an unnecessary penalty. It's especially disappointing considering the initial flight was canceled by WizzAir. I expect a partial refund of the 196 € paid for the boarding.

Boarding kept us waiting for ~15 minutes in the sleeve. Other than that, excellent for a low cost carrier.

Low cost carrier, you get what you pay for. Cardboard-quality seat, no recline, minimum pitch, bus-to-board service (no jetbridge), and overworked/underpaid flight attendants. But, they got the job done on-time with no major catastrophes.

The behavior of the front desk and lack of explanation of hidden fees and prices in emails send pre-flight marred things up. 1 star

2 hours delay, very disappointing, at least they didn’t cancel at all as they do often

The flight was delayed due to snow in Frankfurt. There wasn't much information from BA or the airport, but Kayak was great and kept me informed of the delay and gate changes.

Late takeoff, but on time landing. Lost bags, 3 days to find them, still in transit to my location. Power outlets broken, Wi-Fi not working, so much for working on the long flight.

Good. For a long flight. The comfort of the seat could be better. Also, the food was « normal » plane food. Not indian plane food unfortunately! Everything else was smooth and great.

The seats were comfortable. So many empty seats allowed for stretching out and sleeping. The onboard entertainment was pretty good. The cabin crew were so kind and kept the passengers well- hydrated, and well fed.

We had American Airlines on our return and it was confusing if we were going with Aa or BA I had 2 different flight numbers and didn’t get our gate until it was boarding. So we were a bit nervous as the which it was

No WiFi. No food. 250 ml of water only drink option. No entertainment options. Extremely bare bones flight

Really appreciated the care, attention and friendliness of cabin crew. Very comfortable, prompt and efficient flight.

Economy seats were good and spacious. Much better than virgin by a mile.

It’s the old style plane with the old Ying Yang seats doesn’t compare to other airlines with newer planes.

I was unable to board this flight because of visa changes that I was not alerted about and I’ve been unable to contact Kayak to obtain a refund / credit anything.
