Top tips for finding cheap flights to Vienna

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Vienna flight deals.
  • When planning your trip to Vienna from the UK, consider opting for flights with leading airlines that already include baggage allowance. It's often more cost-effective than low-cost carriers, and you'll avoid the hassle of added fees. For instance, SWISS offers pocket-friendly fares from London Heathrow (LHR), providing ample space for your carry-on and checked luggage.
  • If you're considering a self-transfer flight to Vienna, such as RyanAir flights from Edinburgh Turnhouse via Charleroi Brussels (CRL), be aware of potential challenges. Check the stopover times to ensure they allow sufficient transfer time. Also, you may need to collect and recheck your baggage during the stopover.
  • When you’re booking your flights to Vienna, there are a handful of arrival airports that may pop up. Although there are five airports within the relative vicinity of Vienna, the only one that’s less than an hour away from the city centre is Vienna International Airport. Bratislava Airport is the next closest, but offers no advantages, as it lies further from the city in the same direction as Vienna International Airport.
  • The fastest way to the city centre from Vienna International Airport is via train. Central Vienna is just 16 minutes away from the airport via the City Airport Train (CAT), which costs around 12 euros (11 GBP) one-way and around 21 euros (19 GBP) for a return ticket. The train departs from the City Air Terminal every 30 minutes every day from 5:37am to 11:07pm, and offers travellers the ability to check their luggage directly and obtain their boarding passes before boarding the train.
  • For budget travellers, Vienna’s city centre can be accessed via the S-Bahn metro. Although the trip averages a few minutes longer, ticket prices start at around 4 euros (3.50 GBP), and the S-Bahn can give you economical access to several different locations throughout the entire city, including Wien Hauptbahnhof and Wien Mitte.
  • Parking at Vienna airport is charged hourly, and there are 3 short-term lots and 3 long-term lots. For Terminal 1 access, P3 is the closest with rates starting around 4.70 euros (4.20 GBP) hourly. If you’re heading to Terminals 2 or 3, P4 will be closer, offering the same rates as P3. PC is the cheapest with rates starting at 3.90 euros (3.30 GBP) per hour, but is a much longer walk to the terminals.
  • To rest and recharge, or simply grab a quick snack before your departure flight, Vienna International Airport features over 10 lounges. You can grab some nibbles from the buffet, have an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink or freshen up in one of the airport’s lounges for around 33 euros.

One of the vstewardeses wanted to bump me of the plane for absolutely nothing. There is CCTV in the plane ans everything can be verified. Very disappointing , you all will see, o other 5 years and the passangers who does not smile to flight attendent will be bumped off...

I travel frequently. The flight was late again... KLM should really try and be on time

The flight itself it was great nice food the crew were very nice and helpful, Checking in from Birmingham wasn't great long queues for bag dropped, And I had my hand luggage case taken away from me even though I requested to have it with me as I had breakables items. I was told I can not because of the length of the flight with no explanation at all no options was given for me to take my fragile items out of my case it was taken away with hold buggage I find the staff member who was checking me in very unpleasant !! Can we please be advise if the rules have changed about the the carry on hand luggage it will be easier to be advise on booking your tickect if we not allowed to take the hand luggage with me. Overall I had a good flight .

The plane was clean and the staff was friendly. Food and drinks as expected on international flights. The entertainment system was old style, with a pullout controller, and selections not as extensive as on other flights.

I requested wheel chair assistance , it was confirmed via email that inwoood get it but I didn’t get it . The last leg of my trip to Nigeria was the worst.

Well, in my case; the flight was delayed 1 hour, we have to wait in the plane to get green light. And the plane (probably because was a short trip) did not have entertainment or WiFi. No a good experience.

At the transit could be less time not like 12 hour 6 hours the mix should be 4 hour, thanks

Boarding in NCL is really bad. I'm sure part of that is a directive from the airport that KLM can't change but part of that is due to KLM policy. NCL doesn't announce the gate of departure until 30 minutes before departure. However, when you arrive at the gate area, the gate agents file everyone into one long line and everyone boards from one line at one time. This line can stretch for 200m...easily. There is a separate line for groups 1 and 2 but you don't know it until you get to the gate area and agents don't announce/advertise it. Everyone else is grouped into one line. Are you in group 3? Doesn't matter...you board with group 5. Traveling with a child? Tough luck...you're stuck at the end of the line and board last. The last part is very annoying because none of the gates at NCL (with the exception of 1 used by Emirates) has a jetway. To board, you must leave the gate area, walk downstairs, walk onto the tarmac and walk up stairs to board the plane. Highly challenging if you're traveling with small children. That boarding process begs for a concession to allow people with children to board first because they will need extra time. But there is no such policy. Just a really horrible boarding experience all around.

Pros: "The plane condition."
Cons: "The flight attendants could have served some drinks in between the meals. They actually refused to serve something additionally when asked."

the flight was canceled, and I had to stay more than six days at hotel . waiting . then I had to buy new ticket. really it was very bad experience, and I lost a lot of money and time , and your airline said sorry

Management and staff att viena wasn’t professional, and they are not good by how to communicate and solve the problem, I was shocked , as I know Austrian airlines was amusing Thank you

The baggage arrived damaged and i spent EUR 300 on the baggage a month ago. No responsibility from airline or the handles.

Premium Economy is good value in comparison to Business Class. Not all the perks of Business but a lot of leg room and wider seat and elbow room. Food was very good. I even asked for a Gruner Veltliner wine which was not on the trolley and the attendant went into Business/First to get me a glass. Nice little touch. I would like to have a wider selection of music -- more 70's-80's (guess how old I am).

There were a number of passengers scheduled to transfer to the flight from Vienna to Warsaw. None of them made it because the crew failed to assist them in getting to the gate for the Warsaw bound flight in time. It could have been done very easily with proper assistance.

It becomes like Wizz air, no good, bad comfort and you should pay for 20kg bag.

I am Star Alliance Gold which meant nothing at security as my partner, who was on the same ticket, couldn’t come through with me which meant I had to wait for 20 minutes for him to join me. For a hub airport the lounge was small and uninspiring. We told staff of our security experience and they informed us it was like this for everyone. Isn’t this is an Austrian Airlines hub? Boarding was a nightmare as there was only one person at the gate and again, I had to go through without my partner. The boarding was supposed to be in groups but a bunch of travellers with lower groups were crowding the entry level. After I managed to get through I found myself on a bus waiting with 3 others for 15 minutes as the checkin had failed. Then only to find everyone else coming onto the same bus. My partner and friends actually beat me onboard. The crew were young and unable to control the crowd allowing people to stand in the rain instead of getting people to their seats promptly. During flight we were only offered a cup of water & a chocolate. Not impressed with Austrian Airlines or their Vienna hub airport and plan not to use them again if I can help it!

The restrictions regarding carry-on baggage is too strict. My wife was forced to check her carry-on bag. Never had this on other airlines.

Very efficient and profesional .One of the best. I had 20 minutes between 2 flights and still made it amazing.

Original Flight was cancelled Then Baggage was lost on rebooked flight

Flight schedule was modified and the final departure time delayed.

Big delay because of the weather but communication not so good. Boarding already late (due to tight schedule on Wizz side). When you get in you are hurried every second even if you still need a few seconds to arrange your bags. Food far away from how it looks in the catalogue and right on row 8 already out of chocolate although you are supposed to receive one for a menu. No replacement was offered.

The border control opens at 4:30 so there is no point in going in early as the wizz email suggests. Our flight utilized a plane with plastic seating which was really uncomfortable.

Check in took very long. All three priority agents left for lunch or something and the line did not move.

Il n’y a pas eu de vol du tout puisque celui à été déplacé à la veille sans aucune information. Aucun remboursement ni service client non plus. Scandale !

A GOOD IDEA IS TO SEND TO ME BOARDING PASS IN ADVANCE SO I DONT HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT

Attesa lunga nella comunicazione del Gate e dopo l'apertura del Gate

Sempre in ritardo, bagni sporchi e sedili sporchi con le briciole

Wizzair is a mess, don’t trust them, all flights are delayed, nothing is secure with them, they are the poorest of all companies.

Communication was impossible: feedback was missing, no alternative communication options are offered. Check-in without feedback and the status was unclear at the airport until the last minute. A whole weekend under full stress. Never fly again but never use your platform again!!!

Very unpleasant staff, disgusting service, ignoring requests, refusal to help

Late again rude staff at gate bullying passengers made us stand in the cold 3degrees for 40 mins before they let us board

The usual average Ryanair flight, but we landed 20 min before due time, which was very good.

Enjoyed our flight with Ryanair to Arrecife. Flight boarded pretty much on time, crew were welcoming and very good. Generally good for a frequent low cost flight, Seats could however have been more comfortable.

I wouldn't like to fly with them anymore, I don't like their service, you can hardly take carry-on luggage because they charge you for everything, you can't ask for a glass of water, and the flight attendant tells you that they don't have any, that you have to Paying 3 euros for a bottle of water horrible, I don't recommend it, and they don't have anything low cost, because the plane ticket may not be expensive but what they charge you later for the rest, the flight becomes more expensive, it's the only airline that I don't like it so far, and I traveled a lot.

Staff were friendly and flight was on time. Free drink and snacks would have been appreciated.

The boarding process was fast and easy , but the airport sign was not up on the board, so it was hard to know the correct gate , on the airplane there was NO Snacks and NO water …. Everything needs to be purchase …. It’s not worthy for the price we paid !

Booked through you used Kiwi who did not complete checking in until 24 hrs before departure when the check in was available 48 hrs before hence we sat separately. I will not be using you again.

Pros: "Quick boarding and arrived early."
Cons: "The seat was very very small for an average size human and the seat belt was on max.. No social distancing between seats"
Pros: "Rate. Didn’t like the charge of 55 pounds when I couldn’t check in on my phone. But the person at the desk was pleasant."

I didn’t get to London or Amsterdam. They lost my connection flight . I was stuck in Madrid and they rerouted my flight to Austria where my son had to come and pick me up. To get to my destination and they lost my luggage and they’ve told me they can not find it very poor service so have no word for what happened

Boarding process needs to be improved. Business class passengers were told to stand in the economy line and vice versa.

Overall good, but the fact that there was no WiFi was a big deal for me. I am not used to having no WiFi during long flights. I always fly Delta-KLM and they never have had an issue with WiFi.

I asked for a wheelchair. I have a back health condition. I had to walk a lot

I travelled on biz class and f there is no water in the toilette to wash my hands I would expect to have this indicated somehow and not just finding out when I'm there expecting to be able to wash my hands and teeth. Also this is in general that it is always so rushy at the end of these kind of long flights. It is like we are sitting there for 9 hours and the last 1.5 hours just feels like I have time for nothing. Because food comes and at the same time we are close to destination everyone tries to pack their stuff and go to toilette and eat and everything :))) not that like I would know a good solution here I just wanted to raise this :)

Boarding = No one respected the boarding groups. The ground crew did nothing to enforce the boarding system. What is the point of being a Gold member when there are no benefits to that? Tired old plane

Almost 3 hour delay. First because the crew was late. Then a technical problem with the airplane.

Emergency row seat less comfortable than promoted. Restricted by emergency life raft storage.

My selected seat ending up being very uncomfortable both major flights. SFO to London and back. Seat arms did not go up so it was not like suggest by BA staff. On return flight my seat had a life raft barrier in front off me and large man beside me.

Better communication to those connecting flights and have a customer care desk at the airports
