The beds are awful The interior of the rooms are dated, and damaged The walls, bathroom , around doors are all damaged and they just paint over it or in some areas just left it. Decor is 90s in the rooms and drab. Not impressed at all
Staff was extremely friendly. The rooms are large. The toiletries are high-end.
The room was rather dusty. I imagine that they are not 100% booked every day of the year (the hotel is very large), so I believe it has been a while when it was last dusted and thoroughly cleaned. The hot water in the shower doesn't get particularly "hot." Warm enough for a quick shower.
Always professional staff
The lobby and lounge
The rooms are big but the negative space could have been utilized, the bathroom was way too small, housekeeping was very noisy all throughout the night.
The dinning staff at Roberts restaurant was as so unhappy and depressed, at the buffet the guy making eggs told me he could do 4 eegs, the 1st time I heard that, apart from this it’s valur for your money so I don’t expect top notch service
I paid for the basic room (last minute, so still pretty expensive), but was given one of the presidential suites: fireplace in the living room, dining room with chandelier, full kitchen, sitting room, big bedroom. Needless to say, this is not how I normally roll. So I can't really judge what a "normal" stay would be like. Nice workouts in the gym, friendly staff etc.
The only odd thing was that I ordered room service - they said something about confirming my room number but I wasn't paying attention so said "yes." Turns out that my room number shows up incorrectly on their screens, so they sent the dinner to the wrong room. An hour later I call up wondering what's going on, and they explained, then sent the dinner up after another half hour. But they didn't charge me for the dinner (like $75), so I'm not complaining at all (and the steak was good).
Luxurious historical hotel
Very clean, affordable
Parking costs too much. I should be able to self park.
The location is great and it is a beautiful historical hotel. We were in the newer section this time that we did not like as well.
We reserved a room with a king-size bed and but got a room with 2 double beds. They had several big events so I suspect that is why we got put in a smaller room with less amenities. The only lighting in the bathroom were heat lamps over the sink. Got hot at times.
Room was upgraded.
Original room would have been very small.
Met my needs, not my expectations
Location, facilities, foods
Staff ignored basic requests, reserved a king room but instead ended up with a double queen and a half apology along with how can we make up for it... my response was please provide me with a room on a high floor; 3rd floor!
Cancellation policy unfair
I had to cancel my reservation due to an emergency, and was charged a full day at the hotel. I never stayed there. Very unfair.
