Under reconstruction
Good size room Great location Problem dealt with
Breakfast on paper plates, v poor supervision of too few staff
Great place with old world charm
Old fashioned charm but with all the modern touches you would expect in this day and age. Very friendly staff at reception, helpful with local knowledge and directions. My wife was flummoxed by the complicated tap in the shower but that has been her experience with all shower taps in the US! We were lucky to get an early checkin and a bit later to checkout both of which we appreciated.
The only minuses were the lack of a 'view' from our room and the compact size of it (though everything we needed was there).
Location and price/value
More comfortable bed
The location is ideal. Our room was very clean and quiet. Staff was friendly, with efficient checkin and checkout. Refrigerator in room was nice to have. We would stay here again.
Our TV had very limited channels=only CBS and HBO. Shower head should be replaced with water=saving one.
Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Courteous staff, beautiful facility and great location
not much could have been better- dresser drawers were inconveniently located and hard to use (didn't come out far enough) but that's down to a piece of furniture. The hotel itself was amazing.
Historic Property in The Embassy Area of Washington
Property in the middle of Washington DC with easy access to restaurants and sites north of Dupont Circle. Rooms were spacious and immaculate. Great King Sized Bed and Spacious Bathroom. Excellent Customer Service. A return visit is on the agenda.
I can no flaw in our stay there. Fantastic
Very disappointing
It doesn’t measure up to its description It’s under construction and you’re restricted to entering through a side door. There are no amenities. Not even water. Couldn’t find the gym that was advertised. Never enough coffee in the dispensers and the $15 cost for a bagel breakfast is ridiculous. The $50/night parking fee is also a complete rip off. other than the bartender, the staff was pleasant but not particularly knowledgeable.
Character of rhe building
Lobby construction. Wish i could see it when it is done
Fabulous location and value
Location couldnt be better. Comfortable, un-frenzied, elegant. Rooms a little small but adequate. Staff super friendly. Breakfast a good value.
Breakfast was good, but plastic plates, utinsels, and paper cups brought down the charm of the hotel. Wifi should be free.
This hotel was close to everything and the staff was awesome! Highly recommend staying here! I will be back!
The staff at the reception were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I think they deserve a thumbs up :)
Great for the price...
Location on Embassy row is amazing. It's right around the Australian Embassy, India Embassy, Trinidad & Tobago Embassy and several others. It's also within walking distance to several eateries and DuPont circle.
The drain in the bath tub would clog when I took a shower. The cable TV selection was spotty and I had to go down to the bar to watch Monday night football. Some of the wall paper is old and coming off of the wall. but other then that, no major complaints.
The Fairfax is a very nice hotel; terrific, terrific location close to many great restaurants and the Metro, extremely comfortable room, very accommodating staff. A completely positive experience (as always--I have stayed here before).
Location to the metrorail system.
no
Beautiful and spacious room with a wonderful view (although admittedly I was on the top floor on the right side of the building). Excellent location and some great restaurants nearby.
The room key magnetization system didn't work well and the staff were not spectacularly efficient.
Great location. Comfortable and stylish accommodations.
The Fairfax at Embassy Row exceeded our expectations. All of the staff were well-trained, courteous and extremely helpful. The room was very comfortable, the bathroom had a great shower, and two morning newspapers were provided. The concierge recommended a monthly event at the nearby Phillips Collection, which happened to coincide with our stay. The hotel has a great location, near the Metro and scores of restaurants and shopping. We were very impressed with the hotel and would definitely return.
