Pros: Staff were very friendly. Food was pleasant "pub grub" and good value for money

Cons: Although the room and bedding was clean, it smelled of damp and was quite cold, despite the radiator and the electric blankets. The bed itself was not damp, but there was an overall smell of damp in the room. That said, I don't know if it was just this one room that smelled damp.

Pros: The hotel was well located for our requirements and the staff were excellent - very helpful and friendly.

Cons: We felt that the bistro restaurant prices were a bit high for our requirements and it was a pity we had to find somewhere else to have our evening meal. The hotel surroundings were very nice and we would have preferred to stay in the hotel for a meal after a tiring day.

Cons: Horrible 'youth hostel' style illuminated sign near the recption really makes your heart drop when you round the corner - get rid soon. Couple of undersireables made it in the bar although were quietly dealt with after about 30 minutes.

Pros: This is a well run and comfortable hotel ideally situated if you want to visit the north of Scotland. The food was good, the rooms were warm and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Pros: The food in the restaurant was good. Small town far north of Scotland. Cliffs and rough nature.

Cons: We had ordered a family room and noted that we needed 2 extra beds, but the staff had overlooked our note. The staff managed to give us a room with 2 extra beds, but the room was very small for four persones. The service in the resaurant could have beeb better: The staff forgot orderes, worked slow and it took over half an hour from we gor the bill before we were told to pay in the bar.

Cons: The outside of the hotel (backside) looks a old. Don't let it confuse you, on the inside everything is OK

Cons: When we arrived, there was only one person on staff working both the front desk and the bar, and due to her 'running around' we never got towels in the family room.

Cons: Castletown appears to be in an economically deprived area visited by few people, so it would be unfair to judge it or the hotel without taking that into acount. Given that, every effort was made to look after this guest.

Cons: Windows only single-glazed, so noise from cars of "boy-racers" who congregate on car park opposite, but fortunately not too late.

Pros: The room was clean and tidy with good facilities. It was very handy for the town shops, rail and bus services. The airport was within walking distance, but there was an hourly bus service from the front door of the hotel. The manager of the hotel was very helpful.

Cons: The Bar area was in need of refurbishment and had a rather bleak out outlook across a supermarket car park.

Pros: The Hotel was in a good central location in the town. Friendly and helpful staff and excellent Price considering remoteness of town.

Pros: The hotel is conveniently situated near to the station with a good view of the river, but from the aesthetic point of view it's a pity about the car park in front.
