7.9 Good
Pros: Good location if you want to visit the Penderyn distillery as it is walkable from the hotel. Room was very spacious. Nice traditional country house style.
Cons: Although the room was clean and comfortable it was a bit tired, especially the bathroom. Disappointing that they can't make fresh coffee for breakfast, didn't expect to have to help ourselves to instant coffee in a country house hotel.
4.0 Okay
Cons: poor wifi, poor signal on TV, it kept buffering. Room was freezing, and smelt a little bit fousty.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Very large bedrooms and bathrooms, which were comfortable enough given the 3 star rating. The location is quiet and well off the road. Breakfast, when cooked fresh, was very good. The food in the restaurant was reasonably good, (although not sure it lives up to the claim of 'fine dining'.) I had a very nicely cooked fish dish, although my children were less impressed with their curry.
Cons: The restaurant has been redecorated but the rest of the hotel is in need of refurbishment. A problem with the boiler meant no hot water one morning, and there was a loud droning noise all night - maybe the heating system or something like that. Cold breakfast selection was limited and uninspiring, and the only coffee on offer was a sachet of Nescafe. Attitudes to customer service were a bit hit and miss. Generally, it felt like the whole place needs modernizing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and food was excellent. Four poster bed and Jacuzzi!!! Brilliant

7.0 Good
Pros: A little difficult to find even with the satnav, however it was in a very quiet neighbourhood, may be different on home match days being next to the football ground. There was no one on reception to meet me and I had to phone the contact number, as the bell in reception was linked to the receptionist, however the response. The owner booked me and upgraded me to the Tydfil suite. A very spacious, and comfortable room, the rooms décor is a little dated but both the room and bathroom were immaculate. Good breakfast, (well worth £6). Definitely will stay there again when in Merthyr on business.
Cons: Decor a little dated
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff were great.
Cons: No fridge in rooms.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to Merthyr town centre and parking on sire.
Cons: It was dated and dingy. The only hotel where I had to make my own bed. They couldn't be bothered to get gluten free bread for breakfast. There was blood on the bedroom door handle. The walls were paper thin It was overpriced and poor. Go somewhere else.
7.0 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, clean room. Very helpful staff
Cons: Some noisy guests Saturday night but the staff dealt with them well
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is good and there is free parking. The wi-fi is very good and the staff are friendly. The late check-in is also convenient. I stay in July and January when I take part in races in the Brecon Beacons, and the hotel is OK for what I need. The price isn't too bad.
Cons: In winter the rooms are too cold and at times I haven't been able to have a shower because the water pressure was too low, or a bath because there was no plug. When I had a plug for the sink it was too small for the bath! In most rooms the sinks need unblocking because they take ages to drain.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful, room excellent.
