Massive room with plenty of space to put up our travel cot. I don't know how we missed it when we booked, but the hotel has a roof-top pool and sun lounge. Fantastic. It didn't affect our stay but the hotel is situated in a new development area which is still being developed. June 2010.
Just the location was ok. the room was a bit small. when I booked they said breakfast was included, when I went to pay we had to pay for breakfast
kindness of staff, cleanliness of rooms
the rooftop pool and sunbathing area is the attraction - although the weather was only good 3/7 days - the hoteliers were very friendly and tried to be helpful. Location - in mid september - buses run until 6pm and no taxis either. the hotel is not in the town or anywhere near the beach and their are no restaurants nearby- so if you go anywhere at night - you can't get back!! Also TV in rooms is only in French - so with nothing to do at night and no English speaking TV - you are stuck - unless you hire a car! Breakfast could do with more imagination - not enough choice - same day after day.
Lovely terrace swimming pool. Owner gave us a lift to the train station - very nice! None
The hotel was new (opening two months ago), well equiped and we had a spacious room, actually the largest of the hotel for a fair price. The pool was not large but well situated on the roof of the hotel with modern furniture. Little things were not finished or not repaired, although the bathroom was very large there was ample room to display your own things. The little fridge made relatively speaking a lot of noise.
Room quality Swimming pool complex disappointing - jacuzzi not working, sauna tiny
We had a nice welcome, the hotel staff was very friendly. The room was very clean, so good value for the money. Also free parking , free wifi (but was out of reach in our room).
The hotel was excellent value for money with very friendly staff. Highly reccomended. Breakfast selection could be improved and it would have been nice if the vending machine provided hot drinks with no sugar!
A place to stay for one or two nights, if you are by car. Easy to reach near a highway exit and not far from the beaches of Cap d'Agde. Good breakfast for a moderate price. Located in an uninteresting residential / commercial area with lots of construction going on. You need a car.
I used the hotel as a central base.for this purpose it was good Dark pooly light hallways
The location of this hotel is excellent, the view is probably the best in the city. The rooms are very noisy, the furniture is extremely old and uncomfortable - something like the house of grandparents.
Small and well managed by the owners. Next to the city and a few kms. from the beach.
Pretty location alongside the river Room was very basic and the location very noisy
The staff not very accomodating, not flexible and lacking in patience!
It was clean we had four children with us they did not want any noise
Very quiet and is located next to the street and the advantage of hotel rooms is clean and easy to reach, and is characterized by the hotel staff graciously and friendly too. After 6:00 there is no one from the hotel staff, but they give you the pin number so you open the main hotel in case you will be delayed.
nice pool-area, value for money
The staff is great. The hotel is realy far from everything and there is only 2 lines of bus in all the city and they are very rare. There's one bus per hour or less. The bathroom was realy dirty.
The staff were really helpful and friendly The description of the hotel said 5 mins from beach, did not say by car, unfortunately the walk into town was okay but not good for walking back in the dark, so we had to hire a car which we did not expect to do. I would recommend this hotel to someone who had a car.
Very clean. Friendly staff. Within walking distance of both Agde town and Cap d'Agde beach resort. Lovely breakfast at reasonable cost and nice relaxing surroundings.
Room was clean and good size. Nice pool. Hotel is not really suitable if you don't want to use a car. It is not within walking distance of beaches at Cap d'Agde. Agde town is at least 20 mins walk.
The hotel front desk gentlemen was so kind. Can't remember his name. He goes beyond his call to assist. This is very refreshing when you have someone so nice to help you and goes out of his way. The room was sufficient and had air conditioning, it was portable and loud as all get out, but nonetheless, the room was cool and comfortable. This is a huge plus during the summer months so don't ever book a hotel without air conditiong during that time frame! We learned the hard way at another hotel and left there early to stay here. If you have a car, there is plenty of free parking and getting to the beach is not bad at all. It is about a 5-10 minute drive. Also, there are shops and food not too far (by car of course). The floors in the room were so very dirty. Housekeeping needs to vacuum and mop daily. My feet were filthy by the end of the evening. Seems like they rush through it so they can leave since there is no room cleaning service after the morning hours.
Special personlised service .
Staff very friendly and helpful despite the fact we lost the remote control for the secure car park.
The location was good
The staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. The room was large and airy and had a good size balcony. No complaint about the hotel. It was small and appeared to be a family concern, therefore it did not have facilities to serve dinner or have a bar. It's a bit of a hike to the port and beach to eat and drink outside when you are tired. But the hotel itself is fantastic and we were sorry to leave.
Hotel met our expectations, room was clean, comfortable and the service from the staff was excellent
The staff treatment was excellent Slightly dated deco.
My room was clean and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there. It is a nice quiet area about 15 minutes walk to the beach & to the city centre. I will stay there again if I in that part of France again.
Very friendly, family run hotel No
Excellen clean. Breakfast was OK
The hotel is owner operated by Laurent and his wife Francoise (I hope I've spelt this correctly!) are they are a very nice couple indeed. They made me feel very welcome and were as helpful as possible during my stay. My room was located on the ground floor and had a terrace. Whilst the room itself was perhaps a little dated, it was immaculately clean and very comfortable with the added bonus of a little fridge in which to keep my water and drinks etc and air conditioning. I didn't partake in breakfast so cannot comment on this. There's also a swimming pool on site which is located just next to the hotel and is kept very clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. There are little or no facilities such as shops and restaurants within the immediate vacinity of the hotel, facilities such as this are around a 15 to 20 mins walk away. Obviously if you've hired a car or bicycle this won't be a problem for you.
The location to the beach was great. It was very peaceful on the golf course.
Beautiful new hotel. Staff provided us with sandwiches at our arrival even though the restaurant was not open. Walking distance to the beach as well as golf. Great food markets next door.
Very clean.........friendly staff; superb rooms with terrace. Close proximity to golf course. Really good. Typical of "new" thinking in French hotels. Don't include breakfast in the room rate and then charge an exorbitant rate. 16 euros each per day would have added 156 euros to stay for 5 days. Plus discount on golf course was a bit "tight"
very charming, very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere
The hotel has a beautiful courtyard that all the rooms open onto. The indoor swimming pool was excellent! The breakfast was great. The restaurant next door served very good food and wine. There was a large group in the hotel who spent the night running and jumping into the outdoor pool. The night desk person was unable to stop their rude behavior. The hotel gave us free breakfast and a reduced rate for the noise and bother.
excellent indoor pool paying for an average breakfast on top of an expensive room charge
Towels, robes and carpets are very worn and should be replaced.
Extremely nice room, extremely clean and clean smelling! Cost of breakfast was in line with other hotels, but more was offered - we were even asked if we would like them to prepare a scrambled or fried egg over the typical boiled egg option always available. Loved the ease and convenience of the spa facilities available on site. Staff was very friendly and were very helpful in answering our many questions.
easy to find, and easy to park the car room was not enough confortable
The hotel was basic and what you would expect for a 2 star, so reasonably priced for the area and time of year, it was good as a late night arrival and an early morning leave, the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was suitable for a family of 4. Did feel a bit seedy or that it attracted the wrong type of people as they gave you the TV remote when you checked in and you had to return it when you left, no facility for early morning check out or breakfast as everything was closed with shutters until 8am. The room was quite dated and you could smell the drains, which was still evident in winter so imagine it would be quite bad in summer.
Staff was kindly. Unfortunately not much communication. To small room without any closet ! Not clean enough and a very dirty stairs in the room !! Considering this not enough value for the money.
I liked the staff, they were personable and hospitable. The pool was neat and it had a retractable cover so it was indoor/outdoor. I didn't use the hammam or spa services but would have if it would've if it had been easier to get an appointment. I did not like that this hotel was in proximitity to the beach and had absolutely no services or amenities that relate to beach-going. They wouldn't let us take the towels from the hotel to the beach, but they also had no towel rental service either. We had to buy some really expensive towels at the beachside place then had to pack them home. I explained this to one staff attendant (who spoke little to no english) and he looked at me as if to say "not my problem." The hotel was a little seedy looking and the room was really small and cramped. And there was absolutely no place to hang wet towels or swimsuits. The shower had no curtain, so after showering the floor was flooded, and the towels were so thin you had to use more than one.
Swimming pool. Air conditioning. Our room had no view. Bed uncomfortable.
Nice pool and patio area, free parking, resonable location, friendly staff My room was too small, no where to sit comfortable in room, room very gloomy because of small window, no balcony or patio which I had specificaly requested I allso specifically requested a comfortable chair in room. I was required to keep the curtain on the small window closed at all times as the room was on the ground floor, therefore people in the pool and passing the window were constantly peering in to the room, for these reasons I was forced to move to a diffrent hotel after four days, which ruined my holiday. I also felt the hotel was overpriced for the size of the room I occupied, and general state of the room. The carpet was well used and not that clean, the Bathroom door did not fit and would not shut, in general I felt that the hotel neaded to be upgraded to justify even a two star rating. I base my comments specificaly on the room I occupied.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which was really big, with a kitchen, living room and a terrace were we could have dinner in the summer. The city is within walking distance. We stayed for 3 nights and they never cleaned the apartment while we were there nor taken out the garbage. There was no cleaning equipment either, so lucky we only stayed there for 3 nights and it was clean upon check in. They changed the towels daily.
staff was very helpful and friendly bathroom and bedroom were clean but only standard for the money we paid...perhaps during off season might be a better value
quiet area. problematic location when you don't have a car. too expensive.
Free, easy parking. Weak air conditioning, away from the beach, staff don't speak English, terrible internet connection, way too expensive for what is offered. Much worse than nearby hotels like Capao.
Great place but a little pricey... Have stayed in nicer hotels for cheaper. Otherwise everything was good!
The continental breakfast was preetty good. The pool was well maintained and kept clean. As you would expect, the rooms were made up on a daily basis. I enjoyed my stay No
alean confort and excellent staff
Nice hotel, rooms with airco although the hotel has only 3 stars, friendly staff, quiet neighborhood and at 5 min. walking distance located from famous center / port high price for a 3-star hotel, no breakfast included for that price.
Friendly efficient, helpful reception staff and great breakfasts. We also really enjoyed the really clean swimming pool after cycling and the location of the Helios at such easy walking distance from Cap d'Agde Portin such a quiet area. Some road noise (which we are sensitive to) and the fact that the room was not insulated, so the wall and ceiling heated up during sunny afternoons and released this heat into the bedroom during the evening. These are minor in comparison to the positive comments.
air-conditioning, sound proofing, working internet connection, proper draining in the bathtubs, the hotel was supposed to be English-spoken but French was the only language everyone spoke except from one employee, who wasn't always available at the front desk... Definitely not worth its money.
Centre of resort and very convenient for all the amenities
Very friendly staff, very good position (in front of the port),nice and clean rooms
bathroom clean staff very good did not have knowledge of transport
Good service, nice rooms. 5 min walk to the beach, parkingplace near the hotel. Too small breakfast.
The hotel is in easy walking distance of the holiday resort of Cap d'Agde. The room we had was spacious and quiet, with excellent air conditioning. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
At first, we were given a terrible hotel room, it was smoked very much, uncomfortable, dirty, the only good thing there was well equipped bathroom. Also there were very noisy neighboors. Then we asked to remove us, and our second room was really different from ex one. If was magnificient: there was a second floor, big, very big balcony (it was on the highest floor of the house) with beautiful sight, wide bathroom with little nice window, big wardrobe. Besides, room's number is 50, it is for five people. I reccomend this one strongly, I must suppose, that this is the best room in the whole hotel! Look up
excellent staff. Extremely helpful! I wish there had been a fridge in the rooms
Very friendly & helpful staff. A functional, clean hotel. Good location for the town. Parking opposite for a cost or free 500m up the road!
The staff were very friendly and helpfUL. The breakfasts were of good quality and everything was fresh.Would stay again.
Hotel was well equipped, clean and comfortable, staff excellent Whilst the staff were excellent they either did not speak english or chose not to, however they seemed to understand my limited efforts of french, so if you're staying there you'll need two things, some french and a car the location is a bit remote (only a bit remote)
Friendly personal, clean rooms, free parking and wi-fi internet No restaurant in the hotel, noise from other rooms
Hotel run by the owners. They were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. There were no tea making facilities in the room but they compensated for this by bringing tea to the room in the morning.Breakfast was also good value. They do not do evening meals but then you know this when you book
The hotel is right next to the beach and there are restaurants and handy convenience stores within 50mts. Very comfortable beds and very clean. Excellent beach for families. Breakfast pleasant but looks overpriced. Pool is shared with apartments so there are no sunbeds and does not welcome to stay in it.
Pretty and nice hotel with very fruendly staff.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful, close to beach and restaurants Location was packed with appartment blocks
Very helpfull and friendly staff, clean rooms and quite location
Quiet area, nice staff We have never seen so many bans in a hotel: it is forbidden to eat in your room, it is forbidden to use own electrical appliances, it is forbidden to set something in the minibar. Beds were little bit hard and the design of our room resembled a hospital
Clean, quiet. Staff courteous to our very limited French
Excellent Reception Staff. Bar/Restaurant on nice clean quiet beach - again excellent staff and service! No lift, room safe,12e breakfast-poor value.Evening Dinner service slow. Closed Wed without warning-very few good restaurants near if walking.
Potentially a nice hotel very well positioned This hotel is badly in need of updating and extensive redecoration , the staff were poorly trained and inexperienced. Too much regulation in terms of bar/restaurant facilities.
The seaside situation suited our needs. The staff at reception were particularly helpful. The breakfast facilities and service were good. A local bus service was reasonably close. The dinner menu was too slanted on seafoofs - only limited choice of cooked meat, and no choice of chicken or turkey. There were several steps up to reception and to our bedroom, with no railings at the entrance - problems for octogenarians. The room booked overlooked a car-park. and was some distance from reception, so we paid extra to move. We would recommend the hotel for young people and families, but we were roughly twenty years older than the oldest other guests.
Hotel Capao is a good 3-star hotel. The service was friendly and helpful. The room was simple but clean, and the bathroom was functional. They have inexpensive Internet, free beach towels, and plenty of free parking at the beach parking lot immediately next to the hotel. The buffet breakfast was OK. There are no room safes, but the safes at reception were practical. The biggest minus is that they don't have an elevator or bell service, so you need to carry your luggage up and down the stairs.
Nature and beach Restoran facilities and prices
Location to the beach and the restaurant was first class but very expensive The rooms were very poor quality with poor showers and ours had a dirty bathroom, quite noisy at night as well
It was next to the sea and they gave you towels for the beach,. The noise of the dog in the room opposite!
Hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful. Love the rooms is a good size with balcony. Hotel facilities are great with gym room & Jacuzzi. The swimming pool is open even though not much guest in the hotel using them. The hotel location is very quiet and close to the beach. not much variety for buffet breakfast
The bathroom was in terrible shape: tiles broken and needing repair, shower force so hard that the shower head would not stay on the wall and sprayed all over the room. Unsanitary and unhealthy mess! No elevator and very long walks to the room up and down stairs, bad for both older people and families with small children. Restaurant prices extrememy high! We dined elsewhere.
It was very close to the beach , quite good chambers , the staff was quite helpfull
