Pros: NEW CNSTRUCTION SO WAS VERY CLEAN
Cons: WAITED 10 MINUTES FOR STAFF TO SHOW UP TO CHECK IN AT 6PM. ROOM WAS VERY SMALL, NO INSULATION IN THE WALLS SO COULD HEAR ACTIVITY IN NEXT ROOMS, HALLWAYS AND OUTDOORS. HOTEL WAS RATER 2.5 STARS. WOULD RATE NO HIGHER THAN 2 STARS
Pros: Good family place
Cons: The bed was awful. I felt like I was sleeping on the concrete outside. It was one of the worst nights sleep I have had in years.

Pros: Everything was very clean. Beautiful rooms, great warm breakfast, nice staff, and perfect location in Ames.

Pros: Loved the separate rooms/suite style and kitchenette. Also loved that there were nice stairs to the lobby. Decent breakfast too.
Pros: Location. Need a suite, and this property has the bedroom separated with a door from other living space.
Cons: 1. tub drain was very slow - kind of gross2. HVAC didn't get humidity out of air; it was cool, but damp; not really comfortable
Pros: Rooms are nice, and having a separate bedroom with a second TV is great. Having the kitchen/fridge available is also great.
Cons: We got in late at night and realized there is only ONE blanket and ONE sheet for the pull out sofa bed. Next time check that first and get an extra item from the desk.
I would not stay here gain, as there were nicer hotels at better prices! I cannot believe I paid almost --- a night for this hotel! We were also told that there is FRESH coffee made 24/7, but when we were leaving at 5am, to head back to Colorado, there was nothing. The staff offered to make a fresh pot, but who has time to wait around, especially with 2 small children. So disappointing all around!!
Pros: The staff was helpful and friendly
Cons: not very clean! for --- per night, it should have been spotless!! It smelled of mildew, the bathroom was very dirty. Should invest in a new shower curtain!!
The breakfast is very good. Met our family needs. But seating was a little difficult. Few tables and small area made it difficult to get what you needed.
Pros: The suite was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable and hotel very quiet even though it was full.
Cons: The pool and hot tub is very small.
Pros: It was close to the where I needed to be. It was clean and well maintained.
Pros: The room is very well appointed. Staff are very friendly and attentive. I have stayed here three times and have stayed at many hotels across the country. This is one of my favorites.

Pros: The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Pros: Quiet rooms. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Room missing basic items (hair dryer). No tub -- shower only. Location was odd; we had to go further on the interstate then get off and back track down a different road in order to get to the hotel.
Pros: the ease of getting there
Cons: we had to change rooms because the carpet was completely wet from the air conditioner.
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: I didn't appreciate that the front desk hostess signed me up for their rewards program without asking me first. Also, there was a lot of hair in the bathroom.
Pros: Rooms were clean and newly painted
Cons: Beds were overly firm. Walls of rooms very thin. Could hear the neighboring rooms TV and a lot of noise from room above us. Doors have industrial strength closure devices which cause the doors to slam loudly. Environment not conducive for getting rest.
Pros: free breakfast, close to highway, clean.
Cons: no walking trails/sidewalks around the area.
Pros: Clean hotel, comfortable rooms, away from the traffic noise.
Cons: The facility noise -- the sounds of doors slamming and people walking upstairs was the worst we have experienced. It just echoed. Breakfast was less than mediocre. It was very surprising to us in such a nice facility. We will NOT stay here again.
Pros: The staff was very friendly
Cons: Located on first floor and was very noisey! Lots of banging around starting early! Getting ready for breakfast? Not a good nights sleep Beds not that comfy unless you like harder mattresses
Pros: The hotel was nice in regards to the star level. Had a nice pool area, public spaces were clean, and the room met my expectations. I'd stay there again.
Pros: Loved being able to get coffee and tea at any time. Room was clean and quiet. One sheet was ripped and they changed it right away. Very friendly and responsive hotel staff.
GREAT EXPERIENCE AND AGAIN, STAFF MOST ACCOMMODATING AND FRIENDLY.
Pros: BEAUTIFUL HOTEL--NEEDED 2 BEDS INSTEAD OF 1 KING, THANK GOODNESS FOR AVAILABILITY, AND THE STAFF WAS MOST ACCOMMODATING. BREAKFAST WONDERFUL, OVERALL GREAT!

Pros: Room size was good. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was pricey, but good.
Cons: We had some questionable stains on the carpet in our room. Thankfully our baby isn't mobile yet, if he was crawling I would have been more upset.
Pros: Comfortable, adjustable bed firmness
Very friendly staff
Cons: Room smelled like cigarette smoke trying to get covered up.
Pros: Clean, all the amenities I needed, exactly what I was looking for.
Cons: Free breakfast would have been nice.
Pros: I called to book with them direct as I was in a panic. My daughter was sick and at school in Ames and needed me to be there. The rate over the phone was almost $60 more than the rate online. I loved the lesser option. The front desk staff was amazing. On the evening of Sept 26th and the morning of the 27th. They were all great. I will say I was shocked when there was a knock on my door at 9am from housekeeping. I had NEVER heard of that before checkout time, unless the staff was thinking the room was likely vacant. My daughter was sleeping. I went downstairs to let them know that that is not something I appreciated since we had until Noon. The Nice young lady (Amazing) was very apologetic and offered free breakfast coupons for the inconvenience. Finally, the dark, curly haired young man that was serving at breakfast that day was AMAZING. he went above and beyond and sadly I did not have any cash to tip him. I would stay again. I would stay there every time when we are in Ames, but it now will depend on rates and restrictions.
Cons: I was frustrated because we know we have to go back to Ames on Nov 1st for an event. I tried to book with Hilton and the room rate was $268 for a king with a two night min. This is Ames, IA. I found a place I like, but it impossible to get a reasonable room. I already book with someone else that night.

Pros: Very nice room for the money. King bed, fridge, and microwave.
Cons: The breakfast was way below par. We like to have a nice glass of wine but paper cups never quite do the trick. Glassware would have been nice.
When visiting Ames, AmericInn Ames is a great choice to consider. You can get a morning swim in at the indoor pool, and the spa tub makes for a relaxing end to the day. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Cons: Room service charged 18% gratuity and $2 delivery fees. Leaves no room to rate service by tipping
Pros: Clean and well decorated
Cons: We stayed for the hot tub, which they had taken down without changing their website.
Cons: Wasn't exceptional for the price to be honest. Was expecting a bit nicer room. Was hoping for a free breakfast but I overlooked that part of the reservation.
Pros: Front desk staff was very helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: Swimming pool had stuff floating on the surface.
Cons: The hotel room was very dirty and run down. I will never stay in this hotel again. I was dissapointed with the misleading reviews. I had high hopes but was let down. This will affect how I choose hotels from this service in the future.
Cons: beds old and wornout , bathroom needed updating tub moved up and down no support, heating was very loud ,no continental breakfast
Pros: Convenience, quiet
Cons: Pool was freezing! Hot tub was warm, but not hot tub temperatures. Staff opened the outside doors to the pool for ventilation due to humidity, but the wind and cold air made the pool even more unbearable.
Pros: Very convenient to Isu. Friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms way too hot. Ac seemed to shut off over night. Faucet mounted so far back in the sink it was difficult to wash my face. Peeling wallpaper. Pet policy not clear on hotel details. Very slow wifi.

Pros: The hotel staff was very nice, the rooms are clean and nice looking, Plus I have cookies in the lobby haha
Pros: Value and comfort.
Cons: Breakfast was not very good. Bland and not much variety. Desk staff were not always knowledgeable, especially evening staff. Seemed like we were bothering them from reading their book or being on the computer!
Cons: Refrigerator in room did not work, reported at 8 a.m. replaced at 6 p.m.
Pillow case had blood stains on it and not replaced when room was made-up.
Fan in bathroom made very loud noise that I have never heard from a fan of any kind.
When toilet refilled it made a loud high pitched noise.
Elevator carpeting looked like it hadn't been cleaned or vacuumed in months.
Room had bad odor.
Pros: It was quiet, convenient to get to and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Cons: I have never left comments before but for the price I was not happy. All Bedding is very stained they need new, you couldn't tell if the bedding was clean or not. Room was not very clean, there was still food and grass on our floor. We had no towels which is no big deal went and got some it just added to the frustration. Maybe train housekeeping better?

Pros: Overall appearance of room was fine. upholstery and furniture carpet etc. were all in good condition. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Building it's self is showing wear, bathroom floor sagged around toilet area, no security latch on the door to the hallway. Walls are thin. There are nicer newer facilities in same area for equivalent price.
Pros: Check in was easy with the keys ready beforehand. Room was clean and spacious. Beds were firm but comfortable. National Treasure was playing on the TV, which I appreciate. Breakfast was adequate but unspectacular in the morning.
Cons: Some hallway noise from other guests could be heard, though that is likely the fault of those guests.

Pros: Nice place. The staff was great. I'll be back.
Cons: Great place
Cons: Would not accommodate a couple wanting a king room. Never had this problem before. Paid for another hotel room at a different location, and with as much as we stay in Ames, this hotel is OFF of our list. Horrible customer service.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Very dated. Not the quality is expect from a 2.5 star hotel
Pros: The pool area was nice and breakfast was nice.
Cons: The room was dirty, white stains on the floor in between the beds, and on comforters. There was a tissue and a ribbon under the covers of one of the beds, the shower did not have the amenities listed: curved shower curtain rod. Beds were dirty.
Pros: It was a fast check in, and the rooms were clean. We were very satisfied with the hotel. Breakfast food was great as well. (Maybe a poster in each room showing the breakfast times would be great)
Cons: The only negative was some kind of sign that clearly shows the breakfast times without having to dig. I was told when I checked in, but my brother in law was not. We had a late night event and the other room thought it would go until 10 am.

Pros: Although the hallway smelled badly, our room did not. The room was relatively clean and the curtains did a good job of keeping out the sun as we were wanting to sleep in after a late night.
Cons: The hallway to our room smelled terribly. The beds were very firm so that could be an advantage for some - hard to sleep for us. We went down at around l 8:30 am or so to grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. We knew it would be picked over, but there was nothing left. Didn't even get a cup of coffee.
Having the clothes rack over the bed made it difficult to get in and out as well as sleep on that side of the bed.
Cons: breakfast was minimal, not much to offer.

Cons: The room was clean, all but for a wet spot on the floor, gross. Turns out it was soy sauce (phew) but we wound up wearing flip flop to walk around the room after that. Also someone was either chain smoking in their room or in the hall, the hall reeked. Not the hotel's fault, but still.
Cons: My name is Darlene Under staffed at time of arrival and leaving had to call to get assistance both times. Garbage bag with garbage in it, in hallway in the same spot when I came and left. Asked for a wake-up call in morning and never got one. Breakfast tables where dirty when I went to eat in morning plus coffee was cold.
Cons: Room not clean, used condom box by bed. Over all very dirty. Loud under construction.
Close to Iowa State University, 1 mile to stadium and campus. Located in the heart of downtown Ames. Plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment within walking distance. No Pets.
