Pros (+) Excellent location in Balestrand...right on the water. Great staff. Fantastic, but pricey, buffet dinner. The view from rooms in the tower facing the water cant be beat, if in the higher floors (6-8)
Cons (-) Tower rooms need a refresh. Tour groups can have exclusive access to the impressive historic public spaces, shutting out the independent traveler.
Pros (+) The history of the original hotel is extensive, the staff wonderful and the architecture, interior and exterior was fascinating.
Cons (-) The addition in the 60's doesn't match the beauty of the original hotel.
