Room Mate Gerard

Bell Boutique is a great hotel. Quick check-in, delicious breakfast, and very helpful staff. The rooms are very nice and kept very clean. The location is a little off from all the main streets and is relatively quiet (windows are also sound-proof). The art inside the hotel and room was pretty nice.

Three very minor points: 1. The shower spills on the floor a little, but that can be fixed by placing something on the lip of the shower. We used the free lotion pack and the problem was gone. 2. The balcony was a bit small, but I guess it's a question of opinion. 3. The bathroom isn't that well ventilated (leaving the air in the room humid) and the door is a little "cheap", since it doesn't insulate any bathroom sounds.

We were offered the chance to upgrade to a room with a view but we were very happy with the Basic room. The room was quiet, light but not bright, and we've never slept so well in a hotel. We don't spend much time looking out of the hotel room window! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The shower was a bathtub with shower attachment but worked well. The area isn't the most exciting part of Barcelona but it's an easy walk or metro journey to the key sights. We didn't eat in the hotel or visit the bar or gym.

The Wi-Fi worked well when connected, but the signal frequently dropped. Our devices were connected to the network but there was no internet for a few minutes, then suddenly there was an internet connection again. The toiletries were all very high quality, but were all single use so this means a lot of plastic usage (although they are recyclable).
