Hospitality , this was an amazing place to stay.
Location and cleanliness No common area.
The room was very clean and cozy. The owner (Anne) was extremely personable. My fiancée and I thought she was lovely and could have talked to her for days.
The house has been designed to be a very elegant b&b. The bedroom was really very elegant and very spacious. The room came with king bed and a single bed that was seemed could have been from Buckingham Palace. There was also a great selection of teas and biscuits that were quite good. The breakfast room was very well decorated and had a complete breakfast made for a king. Really had a great stay and would go out of my way to stay here again if in the area in the future. The parking lot was fairly minimal and the driveway is very narrow, long and the pavement is not good or uniform. The bathroom was fairly dated and was just adequate. The flat screen TV was very small
Pat and Regina were very friendly and warm hosts and made this a wonderful experience. The house is charming, the en suite bathroom was very nice, the morning breakfast was delicious, and the the location is fantastic. If we ever end up near Blarney in the future, we'll definitely be staying here!
Clean and good size rooms, great location, friendliness and helpfulness of owners Nothing
It was central to all local amenties I thought the breakfast was bad value for money nd to expensive for what was served -
Great location - near the centre, railway station and bus station. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice feel to the hotel. Nothing.
Central location Receptionist did not know where Queenstown was (I know it's now Cobh, but it is less than 10 miles away & there is a well publicised Heritage Centre there. More education on tourist info needed
The location was excellent in the centre of Cork with easy access to the City centre on foot. We would have appreciated air conditioning as opening the window resulted in traffic noise.
Location Stopped serving breakfast at 10.00 am
Location Freezing room...radiators on timer no control of the heat
Good central location in cork with easy access to shops restaurants pubs etc but apart from location a little below average for the price. All and all mediocre at best. No Parking which was a complete nightmare, the hotel does have parking but it is first come first served so when we arrived on friday evening there was none available and no on street available eiter. This meant we ended up paying €20 for parking which I wish we had have put towards a nicer hotel room.
I was not happy to discover that they do not have a car park for guests to park their cars. There is a carpark nextdoor but if you wished to park your car there for the night, there would be a charge of thirty euro which I thought was outrageous.
It was within walking distance of city centre The hotel car park was small and did not have room for all guests staying at the hotel
Everything was very pleasant and comfortable what you expect from a 5 star hotel, highly recommended. Some of the reception staff were a bit too regimental ,could have been little more friendly.
The luxury and attention to detail and genuinely friendly/helpful staff. Low numbers of Irish staff.
The Food was tasteless.
had a truely excellent time over a weekend and would highly recommend it to anyone. the staff were friendly and helpful. the rooms were spacious and well equipped and the breakfast were a real treat.
Great room and bathroom; Awesome breakfast
The room was great, really comfortable and modern The staff at the front desk were abrupt and not very welcoming. Need Training!!!!!
Friendly attentive staff, upgraded room on check-in, which was very comfortable, especially bed Only a minor negative but there was no shower gel in bathroom, had to go & find some from maid
Good choice of restaurant in a relaxing setting. The staff were welcoming but not in your face.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was very clean and tidy, the hotel is easy to access and is well located in the city.
Hotel facilites were excellent. Superb breakfast and dinner in the evening. Great views of the River Lee and Weir.
The Kingsley was a great place to settle down In Cork. The staff were professional and took pride in their work. The rooms were nice and clean. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. I didn't mind this actually but the Kingsley is about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center. You could take a cab or walk it. The reason i didn't mind was because it was far enough away that you weren't surrounded by the noise.
Reception staff were lovely. Breakfast food was very nice No spare pillows available in room. No Tea Making facility in room. Staff at breakfast were very un welcoming
I asked for the radio in my room to be fixed and it was fixed by the time I got back that evening which was great. The best facility was the swimming pool - really lovely pool. The lift! doors slow to close. If stairs were available and signposted I'd prefer to use them.
The staff were very friendly, the location is great - a thoroughly enjoyable visit,to be repeated.
quiet hotel, non invasive staff, good parking, good leisure club
Good hotel facilities, standard of room, Hotel easy to find, Found it easy to get to main routes to tour the area. No
We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was a very private setting and we enjoyed the fact that we could come and go without any disturbance. Just a minor detail cups and cutlery were not changed every day
- very friendly staff - humongous pool - hot tub - largest hotel gym I've seen - very clean - English tv :-) - prompt room service - great price - walking distance to cork in very safe community - dinner service was poor. Took a lengthy amount of time to get the bill by asking another waiter - would be nice for reserved parking for hotel guests vs event guests
The staff were friendly and the place was clean. I had a chicken wrap at the bar which was very disappointing. Instead of a wrap I got what looked like a chicken stew in soy sauce that was quite spicy and not at all what you expect from the menu. Also scrambled egg in the morning had far too much salt in it! The hotel is being renovated and it was a long treck to my room and confusing when the lift didn't work. I thought I left something in my room and rang the hotel. Housekeeping were to call me back but I still haven't heard from them. I since found what I was looking for!
We liked the location. Situated on a hill overlooking the city and just a nice distance for a brisk walk downhill into the city only about 15 minutes. However, returning is all up hill so on some occasions we had to opt for taxis which were all very reasonably priced. The hotel was spotless and very comfortable and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Good selection of food and reasonably priced. Gym facilites were excellent - all new varied machines as recently installed and brand new pool, jacuzzi , steam room and sauna. We used all these facilities 2 days running.
A very nice hotel, will book again. No coffee making facilities in room.
It was a nice stroll from the hotel to the city. I seems now in Ire most 4* Hotels are cutting back and all the guest is left with is functionality, however not even this could be delivered here. A teenage party in one a function room was let continue late into the night, out into the hallways, complete with boy racer stunts in the car park, no sleep. Also typical of these hotels, the traditional Irish breakfast is ruined by these large self-service covered trays with rashers, scrambled? eggs etc, cooked god knows when and dumped into these trays, with the self-digging pleasure left to the "guest". There was a complete lack of any visible manager at all, perhaps they only look in via the web to see occupancy. I noted a little Best Western logo in the bedR, checked not on website, uncool!
It was a beautiful, very, very clean and pleasant surprise to stay at Ashlee Lodge. The owners were wonderful people - accomodating, caring and kind. Pride of ownership was displayed in this B&B - I highly recommend that you should stay here instead of in Cork if you wish to visit the Blarney Castle.
Lovely rooms Worked out more expencive when i went to pay due to pre-arranged price only including continental breakfast. This was quite disapointing as i thought the price was quite expencive to start with.
This lodge was a wonderful find, perhaps the best value of our entire trip in Ireland. A beautiful room with all the ameneties you would expect of 4 stars. A large king bed with beautiful furniture and fabrics and air conditioning that heats as well as cools. What made it so special was the genuine warm welcome from the proprietors and the the care and attention you receive.
The best value place we stayed at in Ireland
once we walked in the door the owener met us and he was very friendly and helpful with organising a table for dinner and taxi for us in local restraunt . that a hot breakfast was an additional extra 8 euro each
Great place to stay. Little out of the way tho. John was fantasic, but the woman who also worked there seemed to be taxed for time and was little un-understanding.
The couple who own/manage the Ashlee are very helpful and pleasant.
The hotel owner was incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble for him, the breakfasts were the best we have ever had.The hot tub was great and the general ambience excellent. Beware!! We paid our bill by visa which was in Euros. We later found that the owner had then converted our visa bill from euros to pounds at his poor exchange rate which was quite expensive for us and we did not want. The hotel was 3km out of Blarney so you had to drive to any restaurants, entertainment etc
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to blarney, great staff, quiet, very comfortable, great hot tub perfect to relax in after a day of sightseeing.
A very comfortable and clean hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for John, who was extremely friendly and helpful.
modern amenities. great proximity to Cork City centre and shops, dining, etc. No fault of the hotel, but the construction out front is a bit of a pain.
Great Location! Very nice hotel. Restaurant was very good too. Staff (all but one!) were friendly and helpful. The heat! We were on the top floor and the heat in the hall/room was very uncomfortable.
Breakfast was way to expensive 18 euro plus 5 euro room service is way to expensive!!!
A very pleasant, comfortable and quiet hotel.
Convenience to centre of town and also the cleanliness of the hotel Not able to open windows so the rooms were a little stuffy. Only way to cool room was to put on air conditioning. If we were to stay there again we would insist on a room facing outward. The price per night was quite expensive as breakfast was not included. To take breakfast in the hotel would make it just a little too dear per night. We were able to get a really nice breakfast just a short walk into town at less than half the price.
The staff were very pleasant and the rooms were very clean and well maintained
Very nice service employees, even the cleaing personal was nice and intelligent. Keep on with this! Perhaps you should make it possible to isolate the doors a little bit more, not totally (Room 241). Every talking on the aisle can be heard. This has nothing to do with the particular case of the strange guitar player and choir at 3 to 6 a.m. in the next room, which was apologized and rewarded.
The service and staff was extremely good also had food in Kudos which we really enjoyed, The room we stayed in had no heat and it was a very cold night and when we contacted staff member they got us to move which was all done very quickly but it was very inconvenient at 10 pm ish.
Access to the gym and parking were both very convenient. Excellent location and friendly staff. The beds could have been a bit firmer.
Central and staff courtesy
Everything, by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in, from the building itself to the staff. Excellent. The management of the Clarion should be proud of the customer experience it's staff provides. I look forward to my next stay in the Clarion.
This is a first class hotel with extremely curteous staff, wonderful location and quality of accommodation. Would definitley recommend this to anyone!! The only down point to the stay was the bed. While the bedding itself was extremely comfortable, it was two (large) single beds pushed together. Due to the carpet protectors on the legs, the bed shifted slightly during the night and if not careful you could fall down between the 2 beds..
We really enjoyed the spa facilities and the warm, relaxed & friendly atmosphere around the hotel. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet time away from the hustle & bustle of the city. The hotel restaurant was disappointing. The meal took far too long to be served & the restaurant was quite cold.
No courtesy bus into city.
Nice, comfortable and warm hotel interior and very comfortable room. Food good but overpriced. Good spa facilities although found the pool and spa water a little cold and for that reason probably will not return for the spa facilities. Booked a very reasonable 2 night stay with booking.com but very disappointed to hear that guests who had spotted a local newspaper advertisement were staying for a night with dinner and breakfast for approx. a third of the price of what we were paying for our room plus dinner. Raised our disappointment with reception staff on departure but even though I called the hotel directly looking for their best rate/offer for our stay I was advised that it was merely unfortunate but that if we didn't read the newspaper advert...
beautiful hotel and friendly staff breakfast not great
Peace n quiet pool spa etc nice room Lack of kettle n room
access to cork heating in room does not work and can not be fixed
Excellent hotel. Service was fantastic. staff were very polite and always helpful. I will definately return
The hotel itself was luxurious and classy. wine 8e per glass 3e per can of coke in the room, menu quite expensive but it was a 5star hotel so i suppose it was always going to be expensive.
Relaxing and enjoying the surroundings Disapppointed with restuarant food.
Location was perfect. Staff was very friendly (for the most part) No
The location at the airport was excellent. Very convenient for travellers. No.
wonderfully friendly helpful staff
The Radisson BLU, Cork is just right beside the airport. We got an early morning flight and was offered a free shuttle bus but we just went for the short walk with our hand-luggage. Also offered coffee and scones in the hotel foyer as it was too-early for breakfast. Absolutely perfect if you are flying from Cork airport or on business. Our room was very spacious with good furniture. Will definitely stay again when next in Cork city.
The staff were friendly and helpful. 4 star in price only. An office with a bed rather than a bedroom with a desk.
Location to airport with shuttle service Location of loo not good Narrow passage to get to shower if you use loo
The staff were excellent & very helpfull. Also you can park your car at the hotel & walk or use the hotel coach to &from Airport excelent.
Eat and slept
Th hotel was easily accessible either travelling by car or plane. The rooms were spacious and staff friendly and helpful.
Good basic 4 star hotel The breakfeast staff (one male in particular) could do with training on who to talk to and deal with guests.
the pick up service from the airport was quick the menu was not great, a lot more work needed on that before I eat there again
Great facilities ie, fitness center, swimming pool. On arrival we were also upgraded to the deluxe suite with access to executive lounge which was a lovely suprise! Room was really comfortable and quiet also. Good location. Some of the hotel staff (in particular the at the reception & bar) were unfriendly and not very bothered. One receptionist for example seemed put out by me using another family members credit card for booking an extra night (even though I had already booked used it for 2 previous nights and it states that this is fine to do on the website)..."do you not have your own card?" one female receptionist cheekily asked after I explained it was my sisters card. Quite obviously I didn't!! She further questioned me about this in an accusatory manner. It came across as very rude and unprofessional. This is a very small thing but some hair conditioner would have been lovely in bathroom too! Hotel food was over-priced for what you got also...
Spa treatment was super; back and Indian head massage. The relaxation room after my massage is not really designed for relaxation. It's an open room looking onto the corridor where treatment rooms are located, I stayed but 5 minutes.
The comfort of the room, the best of facilities. Really enjoyed my overnight stay.
the pool and gym The fact that the pool did not open until 9am and that there was a mix up with my rate that caused some embarassment at breakfast. when I booked online I included breakfast however the hotel had no record of this when I went for breakfast on the sat. I was also overcharged when the online booking co took payment from my visa card in advance
The pool and closeness to city centre Music in hotel bar was too loud to sit in. 3 out of 5 ladies toilets had no toilet paper at 10pm, response from staff on reception was rude
i thought that it was not very fair that we could not use the leisure centre after 12 md on our deoarture date even ehen we were very willing to pay.
facilities in the hotel found the breakfast expensive especially as it was cold. Alot of money if you didn't want to eat much
The location is excellent. It is warm and comfortable. Spotlessly clean I left some items behind and when I phoned the hotel I was told they were not found. Disappointed about that
Rooms warm ,comfortable ,breakfast excellent. Having to use card key in elevator ,card key not working when trying to get into room. However Staff were prompt and excellent when we were designated another room.
Free internet access, good car park, good location
Loved the location and view. I enjoyed the seating on each floor. Gave us a chance to sit and visit while enjoying the gorgeous view of the river. Would love a quick cafe for coffee in the morning when we didn't want a full breakfast.
Very tastefully furnished. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast fist class. Value for money. Would stay again and recommend to friends. none
Staff very helpful and friendly.Breakfast 4*Great location for the city.Would highly recommend it for its value for money.
Friendly people and comfort. Excellent breakfast.
Comfortable and clean rooms in a good location. Onsite parking.
Pleasant staff The Gabriel House is not a hotel but a Bed & Breakfast so I felt it was false advertising.
The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was first class The bed was very clean but not very comfortable
comfort, location, cheap, parking, ensuite... ah, it said free wi-fi, but i didnt have a password wen i tried to connect....perhaps ye should write it in the rooms, coz it was too late to askin at d reception..
The staff was very helpful when my son got sick, the facilities were comfortable, and the breakfast room nice, with very nice selection of breakfast foods; a classy B&B. Since the heat is on a timer and turned off from 8:00am to 5:00pm, it got very cold for e few critical hours there, while my son was sick. Also I went up and down many flights stairs many times just to get the simplest things. We chose a place at our next stop (in Galway) with a more complete range of lodging services, like 24-hr room service and on-site restaurant and bar. Still, as B&B's go, very nicely done.
Staff were extremely friendly&helpful, very nice&clean in an excellent location. Would stay again, superb value for money Very steep carpark
The Staff of the hotel were very friendly which is what made this stay pleasant Firstly it is not a hotel it is a B&B. There is no hotel facilities, no bar, no lounge area etc. The rooms were tight with little space. I was travelling with my mother and our room was up four flights of stairs which is not convenient for an older lady. Also nobody offered to assist with our luggage. There is alot of renovations underway also which make the hotel grotty.
Blarney Woolen Mills is right next to historic Blarney castle. Very nice facility and comfortable rooms. Surrounding restaurants are okay. Not really, parking is a little difficult due to sharing with tourist attraction.
lovely warm atmosphere, calming and relaxing, staff were just so friendly and helpful, right next to woolen mills so great for shopping. carpets need replacing in bedrooms, computer should be working for visitors, hall ways where bedrooms are needs repainting, looks quite dark.
Staff was excellent - Arrived late at night, staff greeted me at the door. Helped on a random request.
The hotel is lovely.staff are lovely. The food was excellent.
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast, which was included, was vey good.
Great Area.. would recommend to othes traveling from US
The convenience of the hotel to Castle, shops etc. Although Blarney is a very small village. very old fashioned and tired, needs updating and modernising.
. i was very dissappointment with the service in the restaurant as i had read very good reviews , i felt they were understaffed and the staff that were working were doing the best they could under the cirstumances
Easy access to the village and Barney Castle. Restaurant right downstairs for meals. Elevator was out of service so we had to lug suitcases up the stairs. Restaurant service was not the best. Servers in restaurant were not tuned in to customers. More interested in socializing among staff members. Food was very good.
A relaxing atmosphere
The staff was so nice and very helpful. The included breakfast was excellent with great food.
I liked the hotel it was close to Blarney Castle, and that it was very quite. My husband enjoyed using the gym while I tried to recover from jet lag. The hotel restaurant we went for dinner was great! The waitress and waiters were very nice and friendly. The beds were uncomfortable to sleep on, and the staffs at the reservation desk were average - didn't seem to be very welcoming.
The pool was nice and the hotel bar was fun. Location was perfect for walking to local attractions and restaurants.
clean hotel, polite and friendly staff the room was to hot, window didn't open much!
The staff was pleasant Limited hot water in shower. It was awful. Pillow cases were old and woke up with fluff stuck in our heads. Cold room. Door was broken. Television never worked. Will never stay there again for more than one night!!!
The swimming pool and design of the room
the leisure centre. there was no proper parking. you had to park on the street and had to pay by the hour.
the staff were exeptional - very helpful and friendly
in need of a update a bit scruffy
all the saff were very friendly car parking very poor
A convenient City center location, very good choice of cooked hot breakfast, helpful staff with good local knowledge of the city. Very limited parking at hotel.
I liked the carpets and the cotton sheets and the breakfast black pudding. The person on the desk was helpful finding times of buses. The heating or plumbing system was very noisy, and there was very little sound insulation generally; people coming in late and closing the doors of their rooms would have woken me up had I not been kept awake by the strange sounds from the heating.
large comfy beds, quiet peaceful rooms, staff very helpful with parking lack of a mini bar, parking was limited
Location, bed was massive Charged for room cleaning and noise from street
The room is very comfortable and it is good location. Would recommend hotel. It is quite noisy in the mornings. The cleaning staff were slamming doors in the hallway so it was difficult to sleep.
The reception area has a nice seating area to relax after eating or prior to retiering for the evening The access (lift) and stairwells are not the best and could do with modernisation.
The helpfulness of Hazel the receptionist
The staff were very helpfull and the room was very comfortable. Nothing....
the room & facilities are excellent, better than most places iv stayed in which over the odds were payed. 65euro for 2 people - great value. stayed here b4 too and it was more so nice to see bit of value.don't have to check out til 12pm - amazing! it was all good
The smells of the kitchen and the noise of the cooker hoof/ airco where drifting in our room from 7.15h till 00.00h.
man made waterfall by the restaurant made the stay even more relaxing
Location, staff and restaurant A couple of the bathroom fittings in room 110 were loose (handle on WC cistern, and seat)
Margaret and David were wonderfully hospitable. Good food, great location a short walk from town and the castle, and a comfy BIG bed. The shower was absolutely fantastic, and overall the room was extremely nice. We also loved the breakfast selections, and the breakfast room itself was a beautiful, cheery place to start the day. The "common area"/lounge was not very inviting, the door was kept shut and there were a few bits and pieces of stuff from a remodel strewn about. Margaret was very apologetic about that, but it was definitely a bit of a disappointment.
Modern room, very clean, very welcoming owner. Great breakfast and quiet location.
A comfortable and friendly place, well located for Blarney village and easy access to Cork via bus or car.Nice room and tasty breakfast. Would definitely recommend
Friendly and helpful service. Clean and bright rooms. Tasty breakfast. Well signposted and easy to find. Convenient for castle visits.
Very welcoming, great value and city centre location, but a countryside feel in the beautiful gardens
amazing staff, nothing too big a problem, beautiful surroundings.
Old world charm and very polite staff
Very comfortable king size bed, excellent food in Perrotts Restaurant (but wine a bit on the expensive side), lovely swimming pool, hotel in good location within walking distance of city centre. No tea / coffee making facility in bedroom would be our main complaint. Reception staff on arrival were friendly but while checking in, the girl answered two phone calls, and spoke to other guests around us making us feel a bit in the way.
Staff were excellent. Hotel is gorgeous and makes you feel special There was slight dirt in the room... around the bath grouting and on the wooden slatted blinds in the room (dust). For 5 star this should be up to standard! Other than that it was lovely.
comfortable and relaxing and very pleasant somewhat pricey
The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.
the staff were so friendly and helpful-the food was very good-5 star all the way
Facilities The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not. It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold. We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste. So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.
Staff very helpful to ensure our stay was most enjoyable
From start to finish it was very relaxing. The Staff were excellent we initially had a problem with our room the carpet was very gruby, we called reception and they immediately came up and moved us to another room. The food was excellent. Even though this hotel was rated 5 star i felt the rooms were 4 star standard
Perfect staff who were interactive but not overly intrusive. Excellent food in an unstuffy atmosphere. Interesting layout of furnishings and nooks and crannies. The layout of the bedroom was at times impractical.ie dressing table with no mirror but a TV and hairdryer and the desk with mirror but cluttered with writing and information brochure. So nowhere to put toiletries.
