Rental rate much higher than estimate when making reservation. Insurance cost higher than rental rate. Car was below empty on gas on pick up. Check engine light on. Poor brakes. No windshield washing fluid.

I typically do not write reviews, but this experience was beyond irritating. I went to the counter already pre-checked and on the budget app, which made no sense because I had to redo everything again to counter and added a bunch of items to my bill without even asking me, for example, he told me to click the screen five times. OK if I did not read it it said I was being charged for refill gas, which was an additional $90 so please be weary once you go to the counter and they will try to get you for everything if you don’t pay attention to your bill when I got to the vehicle, it was disgusting had stains all over the seat doors inside were all sticky, I would never run this place again

Pros:

We made a last minute reservation for an automatic transmission car and they were great, specifically Aurielle who helped us was amazing. Despite not reserving it as such, we were able to pickup the car in the city and drop off at the airport for no additional fee, and got to add a GPS (which was a lifesaver). It made our last day a great one!

Pros:

The staff was nice at the rental counter but could have been more helpful especially for car pick up.

Cons:

They did not have the car that we rented and confirmed - Mercedes class C. They gave us a Renault Megane. The line was very long waiting for. > 40 min to pick up the car. The rental counter was convenient in the train terminal but it was difficult to find where the car was parked in 2 sep buildings

Cons:

they tried to charge me a different rate from the contract. Took 20 minutes to get resolved.Then they charge a lot to add second drivers. Got a flat tire, no spare, no compressor. They sent a tow truck (2.5 hours later). We had to go by taxi to local Avis office the following day to pick up replacement.

We were threatened with a 1,000 Euro fee for returning the car two hours late. Each representative we spoke with gave a different story. Then no such fee was charged, again without explanation. Never again!

Pros:

In Bordeaux the 1st Lady with whom we discussed the deal seemed to be tricky and manipulative but the 2nd one who gave us the key and guided through a concrete car leease related details was excellent and very very helpful. In Bordeaux we received amazing service: quick, efficient and very courtous.

Cons:

When taking the car in Barcelona and discussing what is available things were not very clear in the beginning and seemed to be a bit tricky and overwhelming.

I made a mistake in the date of pick up and had to rent for one day prior to my official pick up time and the staff did everything possible to help make the impact of that as minimal as possible and retain the integretily of my American reservation rate saving me what could have been a thousand dollars in added costs.

They didn’t have a car reserved for me on arrival, and tried to charge a walk up rate. In the end, I lost the prepaid portion of my rental, sat in the coffee shop opposite and booked online with Avis (for cheaper than what they wanted to charge me). Really disappointed.

They had way too many hidden charges that more than doubled the cost of rental. First, my car wasn't available, so I had to pay extra to upgrade. The gas tank was at 7/8 when I picked up the car, and when I returned at the same level, they charged 60 euro to refill 1/8 of tank. There's also a 36 euro charge on my credit card that I never got a receipt for. I will not rent from them again

I’m disappointed. I thought that I was booking through you guys but then it rerouted me to qeeq.com and the car rental was rent scape. They made me give deposit of €1300 and when I got the car it was completely scratched and dented and chips in the glass as well. I realized right away that this is going to be a scam. Blame me for the scratches and then keep my deposit, so I cancelled the rental agreement and didn’t take the car. I did a review on Rentscape and it confirmed what I was worried about. 1 Star and people are saying that they charged them for fuel even though they gave it back filled up. They also blame you for making scratches and keep your deposit. Why I m frustrated is that I had to run around and fight to get my deposit and my money back for the rental.

Car was decent, a little old but not bad. They were friendly and helpful and picked me up at the airport right away when I called. They did not send me the vehicle inspection and contract like they said they would when I picked up the car however when I dropped it off the guy was very helpful and sent it then. We did the car walk through together and had no issues.

Very poor experience. The petrol was only filled 50% despite booking a full tank. The oil light came on twice and we have to return to the airport where we rented it from. The windscreen was cracked. There was no indication as to where we needed to drop the car and it took us over an hour to find the right place.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
