Absolutely fabulous friendly and helpful staff. You could not wish for a better location in the town, its within walking distance to everywhere. I would highly recommend this hotel.
one of the best hotel I´v stayed at(and I travel all over Europe 150 days/year)perfect service from the hotel staff, very comfortable room, excellent breakfast and very well located in the beautiful town Cavtat-HR
We loved the city of Cavtat, it has a kind of old fashioned charm and so has the hotel. excellent breakfast as well. the only thing we missed was a (private) balcony. parking was rather expensive
Restraunt staff went out of their way to impress, were able to settle the bill the night before and organise airport taxi, they included a take away breakfast as we were leaving, well above and beyond expected! The double superior room was 2 beds pushed together and a wodden frame seperating my partner and I. However they did say that they did have propper double beds available if we had asked.
Everything about this hotel is what one would hope for. Extremely helpful and friendly staff and management. I would highly recommend it.
Extremely clean and comfortable At night noise level very high
Very clean and superb location. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Food in restaurant is excellent - best in Cavtat
the very friendly staff and we got what we asked for. sea view with balcony
friendliness lack of facilities
Having stayed 3 nights, we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and it's location. The family made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to help us. Food was good, breakfast was filling and covered all our tastes. Rooms were great; the air conditioning worked well and our kids had lovely private balconies attached to their rooms. Five minutes easy walk to the beach for great snorkelling, diving and jumping from rocks and crystal clear water. Within one minute of the hotel entrance was the mini-market, post office, pharmacy and ATM. Fantastic sunset walk and several other beaches if you got bored. Everyone spoke English whilst we had problems getting the hang of the very basic words in Croatian. We would love to go back again. Great beds. It didn't bother us but there stairs and no lift so not for those who find stairs difficult. There was a very low level noise that we could hear one morning when we'd woken up to leave but it hadn't disturbed us or woken us up before and our room was right at the front on the first floor.
The setting and location of the hotel is idyllic however the hotel staff and services were far from idyllic. The total lack of basic customer service and hospitality permeated the hotel. The bar staff were more interested in clearing the shelves and getting home than providing a bar service to guests. The reception staff were not interested in customer concerns and had a real 'we know it all' attitude'. The policy of retaining passports for 24 hours is incomprehensible and inconsistent with the policies of other hotels in the cavtat area. The access to the hotel in the evenings from the beach area is not well lit and poses potential health and safety risks to guests.
we found close to cavtat and good restaurants and also transport to other areas.
Location Why do they take the passports at check in?
The location is wonderful, the atmosphere very friendly, the visitors nice and cultural. The nature around is fantastic, the sea ideal. A lot of good restorants around. The level of computer and comunicasional services is very low.
The biggest attractions about the hotel were the fact that it is right beside a nice beach, the location to Cavtat (10 mins walk) and the taxi boat directly beside the hotel to bring you to Dubrovnik. It is a very big hotel and primarily caters for families and people of an older age.
Possibility to make meals by myself. The nice view from the balcony of room. Internet possibilities. We had not any broom for cleaning the room, but staying with children this possibility is very necessary
We had a fresh, airy room with balcony overlooking the Cavtat bay -- could see lights of Dubrovnik. The Villa is et up for long stays with kitchen, lots of cooking space, pots and pans, dishes; Also refrigerator with bins for each room. Five-minute walk downhill to Cavtat. Easy, cheap access to Dubrovnik by bus with stop across the street. Also will pick up/drop off at airport. English spoken well Need to put soap/shampoo dish in shower.
It was very friendly staff
Its position at the top of hill outside Cavtat centre. The use of communal kitchen. the fact it was cheaper to book direct, 15% added thro Agents
great location, helpful owners, relaxed atmosphere, good room with nice view, and Spacious Kitchen facilities.
The relaxed environment, the good location, the free internet connection, and the opportunity to meet other people, as the kitchen was shared.
Service and friendlyness of staff
clean room, location good, Quiet, supermarket nearby, lovely views We thought pickup/drop off service to/from airport was a bit over priced at 100 kuna each way and journey is only about 10mins.Quite a steep hill walk from cavtat. The site gives the impression that there is direct access to a washing machine, however this not the case. there is a laundry service if you want at a price.
Villa Radovic is near the main road towards Cavtat; even though there is not much traffic noise, since the house is located slightly below the road (on a slope which offers a woderful overlooking of the old town). The city is a 7 minutes downhill walk. The house is very clean (cleaned daily); furnishings is plain but adequate. The owners are very nice, helpful, and decent. I highly recommend it!
simply exciting to have the lift for the beach, sauna and pool in the same hotel! a la carte restaurant had to few choises
The Croatian people. Hotel facilities and internet access are limited. Little use made of all the space top improve holiday facility access at the hotel. Beautiful location. Lack of internet access in the rooms, small gym, limited facilities available onsite like table tennis etc, all were at other hotels, yet this was the 4 star hotel.
The staff were helpful and friendly and quite accommodating - that makes a big difference. The room was large which was really nice. The location was beautiful and the outdoor cafe with the view was great. The lifts are weird and slow. The dinner menu was ok but i think it could be better. A childrens play area would be nice. The cleaners should clean the balconies.
we found the service to be very poor and were very disappointed
We were on honeymoon and it was very relaxing. Staff very friendly and not intrusive. The breakfast ie fry - very greasy! Food in restaurant was also not good, food not cooked properly.
That it was convenient to get to the old town This hotel might be good by Croatia standards but it's far from luxury and I stayed in the "romantic room". the service is poor and the food is terrible. Not a 4* hotel!
Friendly clean Had no control with air condition
Wonderful setting with large well-designed rooms. Excellent facilities in hotel with breath-taking views. Would recommend Bed & Breakfast. Evening meal was very overpriced and staff cleared up around us before 9pm. So eat in town - buses leave from outside hotel and go direct.
I loved the free sun loungers provided at the beach and the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The elafite a la carte restaurant was very poor. The shower in our room always flooded the bathroom due to bad positioning of the shower head facing the door of the shower. Bar closed very early.
Wanted somewhere to relax and unwind, ideal location for this
The Wellness is great ... but some towels should be available without asking. The breakfast was very nice. The room was superiour, as ordered. The hotel could use some small renovations in order to get it to a 5 * hotel again (bathroom / stairs / removal of old fashioned carpetry in the hall ways / ...)
Excellent location, great food, a very good hotel that I would have no problems recommending. Checkout time of 10 am was too early. Breakfast ended at 10am checkout should be 11 am
balcony with sea view, reception staff breakfast service understaffed, pool too cold
The seaview and proximity to the sea, the tranquility. Knowing was our honeymoon they gave us a champagne as a present and also a room with Sea view you couldn't use the restaurant's terrace beside the sea.
Very clean, nice friendly staff, quiet area which was great to relax in. Easy to get into the old city.
i thought the food was very good, better in fact than a four star hotel i stayed in at split. the service also very good and the rooms comfortable.
Quiet location with convenient bus service to centre Poor choice at breakfast for vegetarians!
Breakfast is very nice in the hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was quite far from the old city and there was not alot to do near the hotel. There is a bus service that goes from outside the hotel very regularly and only costs around €1.50 but the buses stop going at around 11 at night and taxi drivers almost double their prices at these times because they are the only transport after 11.
location was not bad. Very close to the bus stop, takes about 15 minutes to get to Old Town. very good breakfast. Rooms were very dated, was like going back to the 70's.Had very heavy rain on the first night and the room got very flooded which was not very pleasant
Breakfast in the morning was brilliant, a great selection and excellent quality food. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
Lovely location - good sized room. Nice breakfast. The reception staff were rather slow and disorganised. To check out I had to see three different people and they forgot to return my credit card.
Accomodating Staff... Very friendly and helpful I thought it was expensive considering the time of year...
Check-out time is 10 AM, too early for relaxed travel and reception only repeats unkind cliche answer to one hour checkout extension inquiry that they are expecting next guests.
New hotel, very nice and spacious room and bathroom. Room is airconditioned (always the same temparature). Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. Interesting steam sauna with light effects. Great food choice for breakfast. Too expensive. Beware of mosquitoes in the evening on the road from the beach to the hotel. (Some special mosquitoes that do not buzz while flying and you don't feel their bite.)
lovely modern clean hotel in good location bus service just outside hotel lovely pool and spa after price we paid could not get courtesy room to change in told to shower by pool
Excellent breakfast, peaceful and quiet with nice view. Never smiling staff especially at breakfast. I suggest training.Very big hotel with limited signs/directions both in elevators, corridors, down in spa and in swimming pool area. Finally far to walk to the city during night time. There is a bus which should be mentioned on the website.
dining in the hotel vas expensive
Nice and modern facilities - pools, bars, restaurants. Friendly and service-minded staff. Maybe a bit expensive, but worth the spend.
We thought the hotel was fabulous, in an amazing area, spectacular views, with brilliant facilities. The rooms are not huge but contained everything required. Wireless access throughout the hotel and full tv listing with pay per movie service was one extra requirement not available. The good was delicious and staff were very good. Overall a top, top class hotel!
Very nice and modern hotel with a lot of facilities. Friendly English speaking staff, great room with sea view. One of the two restaurants is excellent with a great menu but the price is also higher. Spa facilities. The restaurant is a mess. Pimped shool cafeteria with horrible food. There is a "fine dinning restaurant" thought, that's a lot better but the prices are also higher. The pool is a little bit small and for the beach you need to go to the other hotel from the same chain for laying on a small, crowded and rocky beach.
New hotel, friendly stuff, rich breakfast and dinner buffet, good location (4 min walk to the bus station) A liitle to far to the beach, small balcony, very 'bussines atmosphere', not very good for beach relax vacation
friendly staff, comfortable rooms, good food
We liked all the recreation facilities, the pool and the easy way to get to the beach. Food was good if you take into account the huge number of guests. Always fresh fruit with the meals. Sometimes the staff was very busy and would not take the time to give advice. A vacuum cleaner under the bed would be very advisable!!! Recreation should be suited for public. Think of the grandpa's en ma's in September.
The hotel and entertainment were great the staff were very helpful and the food was healthy and well presented, we had a great family holiday. We almost changed the hotel after reading some reviews and we were so glad we went to the hotel. Its in walking distance of bars and eating places of sea walks and east access to dubrovnic. no
We stayed in this hotel for one night and was overrun by many many bus groups. When it came to dinner and breakfast, it was a buffet which was magnificent but was like a stampede to get near any of the food and the guests were really rude. This is not the hotels fault but this hotel does not seem suitable for a young couple.
the pool and activities lack of information on excursions etc in english and when asked staff to provide such info, we were told no
Good and nice location, good food old furniture in the room
close to sea receptionists
The all-inclusive option made the holiday very enjoyable The tiles around the lovely pool are very slippery when wet.
Easy access with bus to old town, friendly staff, nice pool, free bikes, a lot of activities, nice green area, Restaurant not to good organized, always empty with food, you have to wait, open kitchen = a lot of smell, little variation of food. Poorly designed building for baby carrier or wheel chair. Cleaning lady forgot to empty garbage, ran out of toilet paper.
The entertainment team were very good and the facilities for kids are awesome. Rooms are on the small side and we had no balcony.
New and modern hotel with a lot of facilities, excellent beach.
Teething problems ++ no hot water-have to ask 5 times -bar not refilled "" phones not working--lighting in computer area " staff nice enough to overcome this Above
The hotel just opened, so all facilities are fresh and clean. Staff is friendly but obviously stressed. Beach is 1 minute away - very convenient, can be quite windy however. The airconditioning kept pumping cold air into the room no matter what we did with the switch. Only opening the balcony door stopped the flow, but then we were bothered by the noise outside. The hotel just opened, hope they can fix all the bugs soon.
Its a wonderful hotel. The facilities are beautiful, the staff is friendly and its within a short drive (about 15 min) from Dubrovnik. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also, its a brand new hotel, it opened on July 1, 2009. no
Beautiful spa and hotel grounds. Food was of poor quality and expensive. Hotel was operating with a skeleton staff and limited facilities.
No shops open.
The rooms are very stylish, modern and clean (not too big but the big balcony is a nice plus). Good value spa&sauna (not top-notch but decent) with very friendly and professional staff. Fantastic location on the beach with great views if you don't mind being out of Dubrovnik (about 10km out). With some bits and bobs improoved could be one of the nicest Radissons I've stayed at. The reservation made trough booking.com was not received at the hotel or it was lost. Slightly inconvenient time waster upon arrival but the reception staff was fair and honestly sorry about it. The staff in the buffet dinner / breakfast restaurant (and elsewhere too) was fairly loose since it was off season (talking aloud, joking with one another), so if you're there to enjoy a quiet dinner.. well, you get the picture. A big minus: one of the waiters serving and preparing tables was picking and scratching his nose all the time whilst making sounds like he's about to spit. Something that you definitely do not expect while eating at 5-star hotel.
The location, view, facilities, indoor pool too shallow and too small for hotel size. too many children
We had an wonderfull appartment with a huge terase and a see view. The hotel was at his beginings and was not crawded at all. The music in the evenings was very nice. It is relativelly closed (but 17 km far) to dubrovnik so we could visit the city too without too much effort. Visiting Dubrovnik with the hotel taxi boat was very nice too. The Cilantro reastaurant was a very pleasant one. - in the bathrooms there were no hairdryer; in the fish market restaurant it happened that we ordered 2 homars and on the recept were 9 portions of shellfish (we disovered that the next day and did not follow up, but...)
Room design, Facilites, Outside pools. Loud children in the spa area (supposed relax zone), no service by the inside pool.
Handy location to City, helpful staff at reception and cosy room.View was very nice from the hotel. Breakfast selection was excellant. Lobby bar service staff did not pay attention to our arrival or needs at the table - only after 5-10 minutes eye contact did somebody react and approach. They were too busy disscussing with other staff members. This applied to breakfast and snack in the evening. Also Spa had no key to ladies lockers and no towels. At Guest relations we asked for a large mall and were guided to Doc which did not meet our expectations (few shops on one floor).
Staff excellent, buffet breakfast-excellent choice Hotel too contemporary, concrete & looked like a prison in parts1!, Lack of sunbeds, small pool, didn't feel like a 5* hotel (have been in plenty), a good 20 minute hike to dubrovnik, bathroom had glass walls apart from loo, so having a shower in view not ideal, weedy flower bed on balcony & intermittant buzzing sound ?generator-continuously, ongoing works in hotel & damp patches, pool toilets
good breakfast, big rooms, nice location on sea staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, rooms not cleaned well enough and shower see through from bedroom
beautiful city, luxury accommodation and excellent breakfast
Location and breakfast was pretty good Bartender in the hotel beach front bar/cafe
Pool area was very nice. Staff was excellent, especially at pool restaurant Prices were very high for food and laundry
The service and the local peuple sers very good and alsoat thé Buffet was exçellent. The périod of Time end of october was not so busy, but il is not your false.
close the sea and ıt ıs turkey of brand ıt can be more details
The beautiful outlook! Our shower leaked terribly out into the bathroom and toilet.
The contemporary design of the newly renovated rooms was beautiful as was the lobby and other common areas. The view of the ocean from our room was fantastic. Good selection at breakfast. Staff was very friendly. The only thing we saw that was negative were the stains on the hallway carpets.
Thoroughly enjoyed the spa and pool area, so much was available for free use for guests.
Nice view I think the decor is very 'souless'. The carpet in the hotel corridors is very light in colour and is already extremely dirty even though the hotel has only been open a few months.
The luxury of it and the view overlooking the port. Had dinner in the Steak House and did not feel that the food was good value for the money. Very mediocre.
Wonderful location, great views and helpful staff
Beautiful View from the Rooms. Excellent facilities. Superior Breakfast was a lovely experience each morning
We had a sea view room, which had a beautiful view. The pool areas were well maintained. Some of the staff were quiet unhelpful when I asked questions. There was no room service option for drinks. I thought the hotel and room were more 4 than 5 star.
Excellent room with great balcony view. Very easy access from airport.Staff friendly and helpful. Nice walks into and around Cavtat. Holiday came up to all expectations. The service in the Steak House restuarant was too slow - waited 70 minutes for food to arrive. Apologies for "being busy" not appropriate.
Nice room, big balcony with sea view,Friendly staff, good location by the sea Buffet breakfast wasnt the best, "heated" indoor pool actually colder than the sea
Super coin super hôtel genre soviétique ( salle du petit déjeuner) gens sympa très heureux du séjour La nourriture n est pas au top c est simple mais bon pas de spécificité culinaire dans ce pays
The view was perfect and it is placed in real nice and quite area. Hotel is more like 4 stars than 5 stars hotel. Safety deposit box was out of order even though it was reported from the first day that is broken, nothing happen.Hotel staff on reception desk was a bit unprofessional.I wouldn't recommend this Hotel to some one who have a small kids( hotel position and beach is not appropriate for the children which are less than 10yr)
The hotel was beautiful, a great location, and great facilities. The cleaning staff would try to clean the room at seven thirty in the morning waking you up!
Great location just 10 mins walk to Cavtat which is great for cafes & restaurants and intersting if you like looking at expensive boats! Hotel has all the facilities you would expect and tastefully done. Transfer charge to airport seemed high given the short distance
Location of the hotel in the bay of Cavtat. Kind staff and good wellness/relax facilities. Possibility to make walks around the hotel area. The Steak House: Furniture most uncomfortable. Staff & kitchen unorganised, causing tremendous waiting hours. Waiters and cooks are chaos managers. Meals are McDonalds approach without any phantasy.
Relaxed friendly atmosphere.
the pool and spa facilities as well as the location; from my room I have an excellent view from Dubrovnik medieval city I would not recommend the restaurant for dining. The food quality is not proportional to the price
Hotel location. Nice view.
The location of this fabulour hotel was perfect. We had a spectacular view of the city walls and the ocean. The balcony was screened for privacy. The terrace also had great views. The breakfast buffet was excellent. All the staff were helpful. The spa treatment - wonderful.
free bundance of hotel towels by sunbathing area breakfast had great selection hotel very clean and spotless staff on reception very helpful. standard room was a bit small for price, although you have to accept it's little fault compared to hotel location.
I think the location is the best for visiting Dubrovnik. The indoor pool is large and has lots of lounge chairs to relax. the area also has two Jacuzzis, a dry sauna, a steam room and a wellness spa, all good. I think the hotel management could improve on signage. In particular the sushi restaurant is not easy to find.
situation , sight, beach, parking service is not always what can be expected of a five star hotel
A very good traditinal hotel, very good location. The size of the room too small for a 5 stars hotel The massages at the spa were un professinal. The Taverna restaurant was mediocar
Location & view. Food & service was also very good. Some of the rooms at the back are very small & look out onto a wall. We changed room after one night and the second one was much better. I would have liked tea & coffee making facilities in the room.
Being next to Adriatic Sea and facing the old town of Dubrovnik and walking distance to the old town, the spa facilities in the hotel and the wonderful terrace where you can eat or drink and helpful staff makes Excelsior Hotel a perfect place to stay. Nothig at all.
the staff the rug
Location Breakfast standard, but not excellent for a Hilton
It was a very convenient position for exploring the city but could do with better lounge facilities - quite expensive and certainly not 5 star quality
Fantastic hotel and service, great place to visit. Could have more evening entertainment, but not really a problem.
The staff was friendly and the location was good (short walk to old town). Our stay was not enjoyable. The hotel caters to over 65's, our room was on the ground floor and had a view of a hedge, the shower was not good, and the price was insane.
The hotel itself is great, centrally located etc but what makes this place special is its people. Everyone I interacted with went above and beyond to make my stay a pleasant one. They genuinely wanted to make sure I was happy! I don't have anything bad to say about this place
Old 19th century style hotel with modern conveniences just outside walls of Old City
Staff was great and very accommodating. Restaurant menu choices were likited
We were upgraded and we arrived very early into Dubrovnik and the staff allowed us into the room early which was wonderful as it was a very wet and cold day. This has made a great impression on us.
food, staff and all was excellent wish wifi was free
Staff attitude and when checked online and arrived no rooms was available eventhough I Have been charge on may credit card
Its location at the entrance to the old city and close to beaches. We were promised rooms with a view of the sea or the garden, but were given rooms at the back of the hotel with a view of an interior cement courtyard.
Very helpful staff. Spacious apartment perfectly suitable for self catering.
Location was very good only 6 minutes from the airport
The owners were very helpfull and also provide a lift back to the airport. The dining room was a converted garage without windows, just metal shutters and an up and over door. Cleanliness of the rooms could certainly be improved.
It was close to the bus stop to get to Dubrovnik. Our room was not particularly clean on arrival and was not cleaned in the 3 days we stayed there - even the bins were not emptied. The room where we had beakfast looked like the front part of a shop and had no windows, just pull down shutters. There was building work going on in the next room too. It was the most unwelcoming dining room imaginable! Also, in the description of the hotel it said it was in a quiet part of town. It is actually right on the main road into Cavtat and was very noisy. It is acout a 10 minute walk into the main town and coming back it is all up a very steep hill!
The apartment is an excellent location, only 5 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes walk to the centre of Cavtat. The owner took us to the airport the next day at no extra charge. A little bit of aircraft noise but nothing that really bothered us
Was very nice breakfast. Very good owner and his family!
Friendliness of the owner and his help in arranging transport and allowing bag storage. No
The owners were very welcoming and helpful, the room was big and had a fridge, free WIFI and a balcony, all of which are important to us. It was a 10-15 min walk to the lovely waterfront and town centre and the property is only a 10 minute drive to the airport. We had a very early departure so didn't experience breakfast but it was a good place to rest up before a flight. There was a supermarket close by too (2 min walk) which was very handy. Would recommmend this guest house to anyone and thought it was excellent value for money. No
Some of the available facilities: internet, access to a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning. Position closed to dbv Airport, thus being the main reason for us to book. Our room (no.1) was very noisy, facing the main road to Cavtat (vs." beautifully set in quiet and relaxing lush surroundings"); very small and without chairs, desk, space for luggage, etc (vs. "offering completely furnished and equipped rooms"), outdated bathroom (vs. pictures on the booking.com); breakfast not included in rate (vs. "Start your day with a good complimentary breakfast"), in short....deceiving!!! (Quotes are from booking.com)
bad coffee during breakfast!
nice location good breakfast
Friendliness of staff, and being picked up from airport.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good central location, though up a steep hill from Cavtat, bus stop outside if find hill a problem. Lovely views of sea and mountains. Quiet location, some aircraft noise but not a problem. Lovely breakfast.
it is very near of the airport.
The staff were extremely helpful in all aspects of our stay and the transfer to the airpot was excellent. The room was on the ground floor and quite dark. The windows also need mosquito covers on them as our bathroom was filled with flies when we first got to the room and we had to ask reception for some Raid so we could kill them. We then had to keep all the windows shut,
All the above
Staff were very friendly and the views were stunning, having breakfast amongst the fruit trees was lovely. Very handy location and airport shuttle was very convenient.
Everything seemed to have been done with TLC and the staff in particular the husband and wife managers and Ivana, were particulary friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Friendly staff. Very nice breakfast especially as there was only my husband and self staying at the hotel. Free use of internet. Very small garden area to relax or sunbathe. Hotels in the area offered greater facilities including a evening meal for little more than the cost of bed and breakfast at this small hotel. The small plunge pool had been drained which didnt matter to us as it was late October and not warm enough. Hower could be in the peak season. Some of the towels were very worn.
This hotel is friendly and very comfortable and we had a reat stay. Not as expensive as you might think a 5 star hotel could be
The view from the hotel was amazing, the hotel is in need of a update. Very close to old city Dubrovnik
The staff was excellent, and it is in a great location a short walking ditance from the old City of Dubrovnik. The jacuzi shut down at 8:00 p.m., making it impossible to use for an after-dinner soak. The outdoor swimming pool and the beach were posted as being off limits.
Reception and welcome on arrival exemplary-friendliness of staffa feature-positionseparate from town itself but with very easy access though extremely comfortable,a little dated though that not a bad point.,only compared to the most up to date hotels
Polite, caring and friendly staff. Excellent location and views. Comfort and cleanliness We would have valued access to an clothes iron to simply tidyup a few items of clothing
We really enjoyed our experience here. We loved the pool area located right on the sea with a beautiful view of old town. It was nice to be able to take a dip in the pool or jump in the sea as the weather heats up. The rooms were well decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk to old town. Breakfast was great, it even include mimosas!
The hotel was easy to find and was nicely located. Easy walking distance to "old city".
Excellent hotel , great location, beautiful and luxury, i love the outside swimingpool and the view. i made reservations for a doble room, but they never told me anything about been located in a front building and not he main building, i was told about that after i check in, it was ok but across the street not the main hotel building
Great location overlooking Old City. Excellent facilities right on the edge of the Adriatic. Hotel needs additional internet facilities for a hotel of its size and prestige. Transport to hotel was difficult especially on arrival into city from airport.
The scenery from the hotel was terrific. There were computers free to use in the business center, WiFi was available, also free, but only in the hotel lobby and business center areas. I received a room in a building across the street from the hotel- no elevator to reach the room. The last day I was there it rained heavily, and running across the street to get back to the hotel, across a heavily traveled street was not what I had expected from a "luxury" hotel. How this place gets a rating of 5 stars is a mystery. If the hotel is, in fact, 5 stars, how can the building across the street also be 5 stars? I would not have reserved this hotel for the room across the street, and this was not revealed to me in advance. I feel ripped-off.
Pool side and main lobby as well as convenient parking. Also front desk staff were warm and accomodating. There were several things that did not function properly, the safe needed to be opened 3 times with master key and also and also the hair dryer hose was broken. Also for a 5 star the services by staff were not up to expectation, ie buffet breakfast was not top quality as well as cappucinos, espresso or machiato were extra charges. Also room was quite small.
Great location. Stunning sea view room.Top hotel.
The accomodation was excellent and the staff very attentive. It was a good hotel for a relaxed family week away. The food(as everywhere else in Croatia) was unimaginative and expensive.Five Star Hotels should not serve frozen food items on their menu, the fish was not fresh and yet the prices were what one would expect in Paris.
Great view from all hotels windows. Too poor breakfast for a 5-star hotel.
The beach and pool set-up the quality of food and the relatively high prices of beverages
sea views and spacious public areas. helpful staff. food was poor with poor choice. breakfast hot drinks were never hot. external public areas (pools, bars, other restaurants all closed). 60 min massage only lasted 45 mins but charged for 60 and felt rushed.
Choice of pools, restraunts were very nice,
Nothing was too much trouble from the very friendly staff at The Dubrovnik Palace Hotel. A lovely atmosphere, which made us thoroughly enjoy our holiday.
Lots of parking, incredible view, staff was friendly and curtious and always helpful trying there best to make our stay a great experience. The restaurant prices were expensive, but again the staff was great.
Everything was cared for perfectly and the staff were very friendly!! Perfect views for our honeymoon!
It's ideal for relaxation. None
The location was perfect, 90% of the staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities were great, the Hotel itself was pure luxury and the food was of very good quality, particularly the choice for Breakfast. The quality of the coffee from the machine for Breakfast was very poor - it then broke down for days and there was no nofication to say coffee was being served by the staff.
Service -- weekday omelette station girl remembered my order; waiter at bar also remembered our order. Double bed vs single King; the restaurant by pool was not the best-- was not value for money spent.
We liked everyhting about the hotel. Although it is about 4kms out of Dubrovnic, there is hotel shuttle bus which will transport you into town at your request for a minimal fee. The return trip is just as easy. There is a bus and a cab ride is about 70 kina (about $a13). The views are fantastic and we walked down the stairs to the bottom of the hill which brought us into 'real' Dubrivnic. This was GREAT!! The rooms are very comfortable and clean(keep in mind this is not an expensive hotel..if you want luxury and pampering then this is NOT for you) and the staff excellent. They were very friendly and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble!! The breakfasts were great!! A god variety and plenty of everything. The only small thing (and I'm scraping the bottle of the barrel here) is that the bathroom glasses were not changed every day and the wifi internet didn't work well. We highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again!!! The only small thing (and I'm scraping the bottle of the barrel here) is that the bathroom glasses were not changed every day and the wifi internet didn't work well.
Needed to catch an early flight and return a car to the Split airport. So expect plane and road noise. However, short walk to a beautiful, community beach with locals is lovely. Just fine for the last night, especially if it's Saturday and the airport is a jammed.
The view from our room was amazing with a huge balcony and the extras included in the 'Romantic' package were well worth it. The room was also very quiet though we did stay off season at the end of October. All of the staff we encountered were also very helpful and polite. The one thing we would have liked to have was pay-per-view movies on the in-room TV as there was only news in English.
Stayed at Ariston for 2 nights on business trip, was upgraded to a suite on arrival, excellent facilities, great choice for breakfast, only small quibble was the bar closed quite early so could not get a late night cap.
The location, staff and facilities were all very good. No
they upgraded us to a suite sea view from a three bedded room sea view because the sister hotel (neptune) was having maintenance work done and the guests from the neptune 3* were transferred to the ariston 4* The hotel isn't a 5* as the information states, the facilities were 3*. The food was the same for breakfast every day and mostly cold, as no covers on the food trays. Not a hot buffet breakfast definitely!!!! I have stayed in better 4* hotels
location/standard of the hotel
Staff were fantastically helpful ; location is beautiful ; rooms were lovely (although we were upgraded to a suite) ; food was excellent. Really couldn't fault the place. We will be back! Bit of a way into town ... but not really an issue.
The staff were extremely friendly and very professional, especially at reception, they were superb. The views from the room were incredible there were not enough sunbeds for everyone
Lovley room and view, staff helpful and bus to the Old Town very convenient but not a 5 star as rated the bar area was very basic and impersonal and the evening arrangements for eating were not as comprehensive as given at all. One of the main pools was closed the whole time so it was the sea or childrens pool!
The service was excellent. Free breakfast was nice. The location was superb. Only one time the waiters were a bit to busy and I felt ignored. But after I complained about it, it was quickly turned around. I was still very pleased.
The hotel has a strange layout but the room had a beautiful view with a terrace.
