6.0 Good
Pros: The grounds, the breakfast and the kids’ pool.
Cons: Service is not great. We booked this hotel on the basis of its child friendly facilities and specifically called to check the kids pool would be open only to be told on arrival that it was in fact closed! After complaining to the manager we were told that they would “re-open” the pool for us as a favour but on arrival it was apparent it had been open all along!?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything about this place is a joy
Cons: restaurants can get crowded
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great - Staff, room, hotel, food etc
1.0 Poor
Pros: Honestly??
Cons: For a leading hotel we didn't expect to check into our room and see the side of the bed to be filthy with what we hoped was chocolate?? Or??
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent attention to detail regarding myself as the guest. Staff very attentive and the dinner service was outstanding.
Cons: This is me being very picky, but.....2nd lift not sign posted as the service lift for staff...me and my girlfriend ended up in the kitchen area

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful. Beautifully presented, huge variety of hot and cold food, served to perfection. The accommodation was lovely, everything you needed, spotless. Viv, the host, was fantastic. Incredibly friendly and very helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clearly VIV takes a pride in her home our room was very clean and tidy with use of a ensuit, breakfast was varied and very good, our host was very pleasant and attentive.
Cons: For the room size there was to much furniture, suggest a couple of pieces could be removed, especially I suspect guests staying for only a night or two. The fragrance from the plug in room freshener was over powering so switched it off and the TV signal broke up several times during the evening. Having stated a time of arrival I would have expected to have been met upon arrival, however the house owner wasn't in and gave a contact number. Furthermore I wouldn't have expected to be allowed into their home unattended as it turned out.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location for my needs with a friendly welcoming host. Exceptionally clean with free wifi and parking.
Cons: Rad regulator was broken so heat could not be controlled, had to turn it off completely. There was not a overhead shower but a traditional bath. The wall fragrance was overpowering so had to be switched off. All in all not serious issues which could be dealt with. Paid by credit card and the 3% handling fee was passed on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovey room. Lovely Breakfast. Easy Location
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: The room and who property were very clean and tidy. The host was kind and accommodated my late arrival to the property. The room was well appointed and had the basic things you would need. Breakfast was freshly prepared and tailored to suit my dietary requirements.
Cons: The bathroom only had a shower extension rather than a stand up shower which I hadn’t realised prior to arrival. The room had a projection clock which I had to hide in a draw as it was lighting the room red as I slept.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Soooooo lovely in every way!!! Viv the proprietor is a lovely cheery lady who really looks after you
Cons: Nothing at all it was all amazing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything

Pros: The staff were very welcoming. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and shower very good. The breakfast was good with a variety of foods. The location was perfect for us being near to the station.

Pros: Everyone at the hotel were friendly and helpful! Couldn’t fault any part of our stay!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: The evening meal was extremely expensive. There was only a Valentine's set menu, not the normal menu from the website ; therefore there was very little choice, the portions were not huge, and it was way overpriced.

Cons: Inconsiderate people standing outside my door at 3.45am talking and laughing and then again just after 6am. Completely ruined my stay. Drinks were very expensive

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Superb breakfast. Lovely room. Warm, clean & cozy. Nice bath, plenty of hot water. Good location for stopping off on way up north, avoiding town centre but within 15 minute walk of a very nice Indian restaurant (although I'm sure the dinners served in the restaurant would also be very good)
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location Friendly staff Comfy room with plenty of space Good choice for breakfast Cute rooms with an external door rather than a noisy corridor
Cons: Scummy water when using the kettle Few cobwebs in room, (not that this was disgusting or a major problem) External steps up to room could have done with a clean No blind in bathroom but the window steamed up when in the shower to protect any modesty!

Pros: Very close walk to the airport. Breakfast in the morning was good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the airport. Gentleman on duty at the front desk the evening we arrived and the following morning when we checked out was really great - despite me moidering him to death! We both had a really tasty meal in the restaurant that evening. Continental breakfast from 4am, cooked from 6.30am. Our flight was 8.35 and we had a fast track pass so chanced it! Really comfy bed. Really nice stay! Thank you :)
Cons: The door into the restaurant banging over and over while i was trying to get to sleep. There is a sign asking people not to let it slam but maybe be better to invest in a mechanism to slow the close. But that would only be me being petty!

6.5 Good
Pros: Advantages: +very good location +nice facilities +relatively spacious room
Cons: Disadvantages: -staff misinformed us about time needed to get to the airport and we were rushing out at 04:00 in the morning without having possibility of taking breakfast which we have paid for. Too much focus is paid to shuttle bus connection when in fact it takes 5 minutes to go to the airport. We were 2.5 hours before our flight when we could have had breakfast in easy and relaxed way. Bad information from reception staff!

5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were very help ful Allowed us to stay until 2pm because of the inconvenience
Cons: Room really nosie Lack of flannels tissues They are doing repairs that we did not know abo
7.1 Good
Pros: Decorated very nice -feels homely for such a big building Clean Staff polite Good size room Good selection at breakfast
Cons: Since we went over the valentines weekend it was fully booked and we expected it to be packed especially with the bad weather outside, But there is hardly any room around the pool and sauna area and there were people just hovering not sure where to go or what to do due to lack of seating. I know the spa allows visitors as well as hotel guests so on a busy weekend it would be worth not having that public access to ensure the hotel guest have a worth while stay. I also can’t say I had the best sleep as I heard doors slamming through out the night, had light coming from the hallway under the door and pillows too soft for my liking. I would come back to use the spa facilities but I would make sure to shell out the extra cash to make use of the club facilities for the relaxation rooms and outdoor pool as the regular access is no different to any swimming pool at your local gym.
7.1 Good
Cons: The cocktails were pretty poor.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and the bed was really comfortable and we slept really well.
Cons: Instant coffee - at the very least there should be a French press in the rooms rather than sachets of instant decaf. We had to wait for quite some time to check in and again when we were checking out.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The photos advertised
Cons: Overpriced, small rooms, very small walkways and corridors, round down corridors, lift needs doing up, carpets look knackered in the rooms area, dark corridors to rooms, car park small.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a good stay. The beds were comfy, the food was lovely, the facilities were nice. Staff mostly really helpful too.
Cons: Was too busy. Because it was Valentines weekend, the spa was packed and not enjoyable. I was quite disappointed with that. My husband also experienced a racist comment in the hot tub which was obviously not the hotels fault but left us feeling uneasy. On his birthday as well!
6.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was amazing 9/10, great choice and options. Staff were nice and friendly.
Cons: I think overall we had a lovely stay over the weekend. However I think for the money it was not amazing. If you are paying £225 a night the welcoming service and the room needs to be better. Nothing special when we turned up and even didn't show us to our room, which was miles away. We had to walk up stairs, past loads of rooms/workmen and then back down a different set of stairs to our room. Didn't feel very special for a £225 a night experience. The room was nice (109), nothing really more than that. Bathroom was lovely ,clean and new. However the sink kept getting filling up and was very annoying but only a small thing. The rest of the hotel was lovely and we had great service. The spa was great, we just had use of the cottonmill not the club. Which was a bit miss leading because online most of the spa pictures are of the club so that what you are expecting and it's not. Cottonmill spa was nice and clean but once you see all the other pictures online of the club it won't live up to it. And we couldn't justify another £100 each to upgrade.... We had a lovely weekend but don't think it was worth the money we paid.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, good spa facilities.
Cons: Staff wasn’t so friendly

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room lovely bed
Cons: Food could have been hotter but still lovly
9.4 Excellent
Pros: - Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens
Cons: - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
7.0 Good
Pros: Property is fantastic. You can see the building was a very luxurious residence of some aristocratic family.
Cons: You can also see that the furniture are old and they are starting to fade. The toilet are old-style nice and clean but the tap are still hot and cold water standalone. The property needs to be better kept and some investment is needed to refurbish sofas and seats, you can see the property did not have much investment in the last 20 years. Having attended events and slept in many hotels around the world, this is listed as 5 Stars. It was probably 5 stars 10 years ago but now I would downgrade it to 4 stars and even 3+. Standard of furniture, tables and dinners even the elegant restaurant are not suitable for a 5 star
5.0 Okay
Pros: location, grandness of the building, size of rooms, wifi
Cons: suites and bathrooms are tired and in dire need of some TLC, snooty staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is quite simply breathtaking in so many ways. The grounds, the building, the grandeur and the welcoming staff. For a Valentines dinner it couldn’t be bettered. The suite was delightful.
Cons: Can’t fault it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location - Beautiful Clean nice room (expected for a premium room) Staff were very professional
Cons: Facilities for dogs in the room, a lovely dog bed, and dog food provided - lovely - although I didn’t have a dog with me.. unfortunately our room neighbour did, the room was not sound proof, and the lovely mutt yapped non stop.. never had so little sleep in any hotel - ever During our stay - There was no WIFI available, I’m sorry, but that is now a requirement of a good hotel?? The TV buttons didn’t work correctly, only the up direction worked on the controller, making it possible to use, we reported this to someone who delivered us drinks, although nothing was done about it The brasserie restaurant menu was very limited, we went for the trout recommended to share, which was ok for one person.. (wine was lovely)
5.8 Okay
Pros: Grounds; food in evening in dining hall
Cons: Dated rooms and carpets; service not what is to be expected from 5 star. Reception forgot about request to come fix heating issue; at breakfast not offered the menu for hot food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our third trip to Luton Hoo and the staff made our anniversary stay extra special!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great building with lots of history, grounds are beautiful, facilities are great with a golf course, spa, and excellent restaurants. Room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable.
Cons: Everything was top notch, just be aware that everything is pricey. A coke was £3.90, a filter coffee was £4.50, a Tia Maria and coke was £11.85. So save up some cash!

7.0 Good
Pros: The room was a good size with a very comfy bed. Amenities in room were good. Lovely view of lake.
Cons: Room service menu very limited. Paintwork near patio doors onto balcony pealing off. Railings on patio were rusty. Wallpaper had marks on it and was coming off in places. Information in welcome folder in room was outdated. We travelled miles to go to the butterfly world the hotel advertised only to find it closed 5 years ago!

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was very good. The room was nice and clean with a lovely ensuite,
Cons: Location. it was difficult to find by satnav. kept trying to take us the wrong way up a no entry to the hotel. after a couple of attempts in rush hour, we found the way up to the hotel off a one way street, up a shared lane with a tight turn to a remote gate for the carpark. This worked well and was reassuring. Also its next to a railway so a bit noisy if your not used to it.
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely staff , very engaged
Cons: Location is under development and the area is struggling.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, staff kind and helpful, good food, bed perfect.
Cons: Nothing that we didn't like

Pros: Salad was lovely and due to event being on on the bar they provided it to my room as travelling alone for work. The bed was amazingly comfortable and the room was so clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was furnished suitably with separate bathroom, with a power shower and tv worked well. The reception called me a taxi in the AM with no bother. Would stay again if in the area for work, good value for money.

Pros: Comfortable and cozy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. The room was very nice and clean. Very good location as a base to visit the area. There is parking close to the pub just look for it.
Cons: All good. If I have to suggest something I would have exploited more the ancient building features while decorating the room. The bed was too soft for my liking. Didn’t get much sleep due to some lads who stationed beneath our window chatting after pub closure till 5,30 (if happens frequently maybe providing earplugs could improve confort).

Cons: Nothing to dislike
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was really amazed that we didn’t hear the motorway apart from a slight hum as we were right next to it. It was one of my concerns. We both slept well. The room was spacious but could have done with something I.e. a little shelf by the second bed next to the window apart from that, everything was fine.
Cons: Nothing.

7.0 Good
Pros: The room was a good size with a very comfy bed.
