Great hotel for solo travel
I liked the area and the building was clean and secure. The staff was professional, helpful, and made me feel at ease. I was traveling alone and booked a cheap hotel trying to save money, but the other place made me concerned for my safety. The Hilton Garden Inn was fortunately able to accommodate me last minute and I felt very secure and safe there. I’ve always enjoyed my stays at this hotel chain and will stay there again the next time I’m in Charlotte.
I have no complaints. Everything was as I expected.
Waste of time
Location is great
The doors room key doesn't work for a lot of rooms. They said that it was an ongoing issue. So everytime my wife and I left the room we had to wait 15 to 20 mins for the front desk person to come open it. Then their was only 1 of them and they had to do check ins at the same time. All together we wasted about 3 maybe even 4 hrs of our stay waiting to get in the room we paid for. We ask two days for a manager and they always said he wasn't on site. Then the front desk ppl caught attitudes because they had to walk us up to our rooms a lot. They could have said they had issues with their doors and I would have went across the street to the other hotel.
Good location relative to Carowinds
Room/bathroom was a bit small. Bathroom door opened outward and blocked the entrance door.
Hotel was very nice, centrally located with lots of restaurants & shops within walking distance. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable. Will stay here again, if ever in this area again.
