Top tips for finding Victoria hotel deals

  • If you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Victoria, you should consider visiting during the low season. You'll find cheaper accommodations in Victoria in September and February.
  • Hotel room prices vary depending on many factors but you’ll most likely find the best hotel deals in Victoria if you stay on a Sunday. The opposite is true for, Wednesday, which is usually the most expensive day.
  • Book more than 90 days before your stay begins to get the best price for your Victoria accommodation.
  • The cheapest 3-star hotel room in Victoria found on KAYAK in the last 2 weeks was £53, while the most expensive was £122.
  • How long should you stay? KAYAK users usually book their accommodation in Victoria for 12 days.
  • Hoping to explore Mahe Island’s impressive natural scenery and wildlife? Book a hotel next to the Seychelles National Botanical Gardens, such as the affordable Hilltop Boutique Hotel that is a 2-minute drive away. These botanical gardens stretch over 5 acres and contain a variety of exotic plants as well as giant tortoises.
  • Mahe Island is known for having a high concentration of luxury resorts, which are a great option if you are looking to relax and be pampered during your vacation. The Kempinski Seychelles Resort is a 5-star hotel that is located on the southwest coast of the island, while the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa is a popular choice located on the west coast.
  • If you enjoy hiking, select a hotel that is next to the beginning of the Copolia Trail, such as the luxury Avani Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa. The Copolia Trail goes for several kilometres across the island and eventually ends on the west coast, allowing hikers to see a variety of plants, animals and scenic views along the way.
  • For visitors who would like to see one of the most scenic vantage points on Mahe Island, pick a hotel that puts you within easy hiking distance of Ridge Residence, like the Palms Day hotel. Ridge Residence is a popular lookout point in the middle of the Seychelles National Park that provides guests with impressive views of the entire west coast of the island.
  • If you are an avid tea drinker, consider booking a hotel next to the island’s local Tea Factory, such as the charming Villa Vanilla. At the Tea Factory, visitors can see first-hand how tea leaves are produced, as well as purchase unique tea flavours as souvenirs or gifts.

PROS: The location was great. We also liked the cake, sparkling wine, and fruit plate for our honeymoon.CONS: First, in our opinion the staff were often incompetent. For example, room service could not make change. For another example, it took over an hour to check in and we were forced to fill out a registration card multiple times. Second, our American Express card which was used to book our reservation was no longer accepted by the hotel. Third, the hotel property felt dated and in need of repair. Fourth, our room was infested with millipedes upon check in - the hotel staff would only remove them and did not offer us another room - the infestation continued throughout our stay. Fifth, we were promised a free 60 minute couples massage as part of the honeymoon package (it is listed on the hotel's website) - when we asked about this benefit, the staff told us we could purchase the 60 minute couples massage despite the fact it was listed as complimentary for honeymooners on the hotel's own website. All in all, in our opinion this resort presents itself as a five star property but in actuality more honestly a three star property. We felt like we did not get what we paid for.

PROS: Amazingly beautiful beach location and nice deep pool. A separate kidding pool is provided. Nice pool towels. Bus stop and two small grocery stores are located right off the property. Rooms were very clean.CONS: I live in Germany and I’m quite used to the different customer service approach here than from America, but for a nation whose economy is dependent on tourism, I really did expect a bit more customer service oriented approach from the staff. As individuals they were nice, once engaged, but we felt like we were intruding on their work day at the resort. We had issues every day, while each one was relatively minor, and let’s face it, stuff happens, the issues stacked up during our stay. We were early for the 1400 check in, not a problem as that was on us and we were told to return at 1330. We grabbed some lunch and returned at 1400 only to wait another 20 minutes. Then the AC did not work in our room and after waiting for an hour for it to “kick in” we had to go to the front desk. They did send a repairman by quickly and the issue was resolved. But it took hours for our room to become comfortable. We had to ask for our laundry back twice (after waiting for 24 hours) before we got it back and some clothes were mixed up. One day housekeeping didn’t leave any towels at all and we had to ask for towels twice before any were delivered. At dinner I politely mentioned to the server that we had been waiting for over 30 minutes for our food he shook his head “no.” We were one of two tables in that dining area. Then I watched the staff discuss our ticket, which had obviously been overlooked. Finally another waitress came over and said that our food world be ready in a few minutes. Then they served fish to my friend that is allergic after assuring her that the menu swap was not a problem. The least they could have done was bring some bread out. Then one of the starters was served and billed as a main portion. The “mattresses” were nothing more than box springs and not comfortable at all. On top of that, the pool closes at 1900. So much for an evening swim. Forget about getting a lounge chair during the day as people camp out, leaving their belongings but not being anywhere in the vicinity. They really need more chairs, loungers and umbrellas. This is a resort for goodness sakes.
