The rental sales agent responsible for the budget store at the London International Airport (Ontario) was extremely sleazy. He attempted to claim that the credit card I was using for rental did not have insufficient funds, even though I had been with my bank representative over the phone who confirmed that there was nothing wrong with my card. The agent simply refused to rent the car, which made the entire situation definitely sketchy. I did not rent the car with Budget, and had to look for another rental company to find a car at the last minute, since it was an urgent matter (by the way, my credit card worked perfectly with the other rental). 0 out of 10 would do business again with this store, and I do not recommend it to anyone else.
First of all, I was given a car that did not fit the description of the car in the category I rented and therefore I could not fit my luggage in it. I then had to pay for an upgrade which I was not happy about, but I did not have a choice as my parents and I were needing to drive a further 2 hours to our destination, and it was late. When I got the next car, it was dirty inside and had quite a lot of marks and scrapes on the wheels. I was told to take pictures of the damage (I did). When I was driving it, I noticed that the service overdue and engine oil lights were on, but it was too late to go back. I had two tyers blow while I was driving, which the tyer repair place said was caused by the damage on the rims. I had to pay for the two new tyers and budget were not prepared to reimburse me for the cost. We could have been killed if I had been travelling any faster. Although I have pictures of the damaged rims, they are saying that the car was not damaged when it was rented to me, even though I have pictures on the day. I am disgusted with budget.
What could of been better. They wanted to charge $50.00 more to add an additional driver for two days. We have rented in the past and have never been charged extra for the extra driver. Not sure I would rent again from Budget.
