Very strict
Pros: The staff were nice and very polite.
Cons: We had to spent almost 45 minutes trying to explain to them how our licenses were valid in Taiwan. Even then, they were still not convinced 100% but gave us the car any ways. This was all due to a one word difference (international driving license VS. international driving permit) Also, this is a habit of all rental cars anyways not only Avis Taipei, we didn't get the car we asked for ( there is a difference between VW Golf and Ford Fiesta in my opinion).

Pros: The staff at down town Taipei drop off was very very nice.
Cons: Tires on 4 wheels are quite old and are different models and makes.

Bad Service, difficult communication..
Pros: The car was clean. That's about the only good thing.
Cons: The location was not on-site, as advertised. No clear instruction as to how to pick up the car at off-site was given before arrival. Then, the GPS, which we paid for, did not work after 30 minutes. After 4 day trip, upon returning the car, we told the desk that GPS never worked. But she refused to reimburse us for the GPS and even showed an attitude by accusing us of breaking the GPS. WTF? bad bad bad..
