4.2 Okay
Pros: Nothing, it was the cheapest place in the area with availability.
Cons: The common areas where old and in bad conditions. The staff didn’t speak a single word in English, and the room was tiny - the shower was a cube and the sink in front of the bed/ no separated walls. During the night there is no staff around or in reception.
6.3 Good
Pros: convenient access. not too far from city center.
Cons: bad smell around hotel location.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and friendly
Cons: Lack of taxis to get you into the town centre
10.0 Excellent

5.0 Okay
Pros: Concarneau and location was good.
Cons: Extremely expensive for very little value, 185 euro per night! Very noisy, and a minimally furnished apartment. One towel per person for 5 days, one garbage bag for 5 days, no kitchen towels or wipes, no small knives, no corkscrew, because they were stolen? We bought a corkscrew and kitchen towels for a possible next guest, hope they're still there. No chairs on the balcony on the first day, a dirty balcony table on the first day.
7.9 Good
Pros: The property is very nice, the people at the desk are very good and has a good energy. After that you realize the staff is a little green But I guess it goes with the area
Cons: The room needs a little more love and attention
7.5 Good
Pros: It was a self catering apartment so we had a lounge as well as a bedroom, so plenty of room. The balcony over looked the car park and had a side view to the sea, but we could see our car from there too, which was good. It was a 20 min walk into town which we like for the exercise. Also very safe and a very nice town with restaurants, bars, live music, plenty of shops and the walled city to walk round.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: New, well equipped, big tv with lots of channels, good bedding, across from beach.
Cons: Could hear people walking above
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location by the beach, spacious apartment. We liked having a kitchen and ate breakfast there and cooked one evening meal. Nice to have a bathtub as well as a shower.
Cons: We stayed there 3 years ago when it was new; today it is looking a little worn and probably needs redecorating. Also there were things missing; we had no outside table & chairs for the balcony (all our neighbours had them), we only had two non matching wine glasses and other kitchen equipment was missing and no hair dryer.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and always willing to please
Cons: The restaurant was a culinary delight although rather expensive. Beers from the bar are close to 7euro in price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, modern, spacious, very close to the beach, kitchenette, good water pressure, separate toilet, large television with many channels, good Wi-Fi, Towel heater in the bathroom.
Cons: A funky smell in the hallway, maybe emanating from the wallpaper?.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect. The apartment was comfortable and well appointed. The beach is very good and just across the road. The town with loads of restaurants, bars and shops is a 20 minute walk away. The plateau fruit de Mar is wonderful in all the restaurants.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We booked a two bedroom apartment. The apartment was a good size but pretty basic. It had a large balcony with a great views west towards the sea, so we saw some great sunsets. It was a 30 minute walk for us into the centre using the route following the beach, there is a quicker way through the housing area. We found some great restaurants in the town. Our dog was made very welcome and there were lots of areas for walking him very close by.
Cons: Not being able to get our car nearer the apartment block entrance to unload, the part of the car park at the block entrance appears to be for permanent residents only.

Pros: This is our third time to stay and we love it. It is so central one step to all amenities and a 3 minute walk ti the Ville clos. The staff/owners are so nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good and a great start to the day. We will return next year.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean spacious rooms. Centrally located so great for a one night stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a nice hotel run by a very helpful couple and part of the Brit group. The location is perfect with only a short stroll to the stunning old walled town in the middle of the harbour.Parking is good but not on market day [ Friday ] The room was spotless with small adjoining shower and WC room with fluffy duvet, small desk and TV. There were plenty of restaurants nearby serving the freshest seafood with the "Fruit de mer" dominating most menus. Breakfast served in an airy room with fresh juice ,boiled eggs and an outstanding locally cured ham.Usual breads, pastries and an amazing selection of home made jams.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well positioned, right in the heart of the town, opposite the walled port. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, really couldn't do enough for us.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was excellent!
Cons: A LOT of noise
9.6 Excellent

Cons: It was all fine.

Pros: Location and that they had secure garaging for the motobikes
7.9 Good
Pros: very good location! Pleasant, clean and comfortable.
Cons: There wasn't a lot of character - quite modern rooms - efficient and comfortable but fairly standard. I would definitely recommend it for a short unfussy stay.
Les Sables Blancs - Concarneau - Building
5
8.4 Excellent (1,292 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Les Sables Blancs in Concarneau, you'll be just steps from Plage des Sables Blancs and Sables Blancs Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Perfect location, nice design in the restaurant
Cons: Very small room, the staff was really not friendly at all
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was truly stunning over the beach, with the waves crashing right up to the hotel at high tide. From outside, we thought the building looked tired, but once inside we saw how ultra-modern and bright it really was. All staff spoke good English and were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed drinks in the bar. A great heated towel rail in the bathroom. Breakfast was a good buffet, very enjoyable.
Cons: The bed reading lights were a bit dim. The bath was slippery and it was difficult to avoid splashing water from the shower everywhere. We wonder why the only two English language channels were both USA business stations, when news channels CNN or BBC would have been better.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location and view are great but thats about it and on
Cons: The decor is outdated and naff, the condition of the hotel is tired at best. The minibar as stated on the booking did exist BUT had nothing in it and there was no service to fill or manage it. Room service didn't exist in any pretence. Pillows were cheap and uncomfortable.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good location directly sea side. Beautiful view to the ocean.
Cons: Value for money to my opinion not given: hair dryer was defect, there was almost no storage for the clothes, so we had to live „out of the suitcase“. To enter the room, one had to pass the terrace restaurant. No possibility to leave a window open during the night (everybody could walk in). No bathrobes available (I admit that this was not listed in the provisions but since this hotel claims to be a four star hotel I would have definitely expected to have bathrobes). The breakfast was offered between 7 to 10 but already at 8.30 no (mini) croissants were available anymore and the staff did not care for resupply so simple bread (no baguettes) was offered. The staff (including owner) was quite unfriendly. At the end I do not feel that good localisation at seaside justfies the high price (around 305€ incl. brakfast for 2) and I would not recommend this hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Very clean rooms. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner, was very good. The personnel was kind. Overall excellent rating!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Right on the beach. Beautiful setting.
Cons: Prices were sky high - because of the location.

Pros: The hotel is very central and had a car park (off site) at euro 8 per night. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly and the breakfast plentiful and fresh. The room and facilities were on the small size but adequate for an overnight, or two stop. The Tv had many channels to choose from.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located just a short walk from the Ville Close but in a quiet loaction. The lady on reception (I think she was the owner) went out of her way to make sure we found the hotel's car park in the next street where we could leave our bikes under cover. Very friendly and welcoming. Will come again.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lady who checked us in and out was lovely and very helpful and friendly! The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great! The room was exactly as expected, the location is fabulous, we had a room at the front of the hotel and so it was a little noisy at with traffic and at one stage with merry people making their way home but closing the window (it was a very hot day/evening) was the answer to this tiny problem
Cons: Personally, we would have really liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. However we are English and this is a given in all English hotels and B&Bs. I had forgotten this is not always the case in France.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome. Nice clean room, fairly basic. Excellent breakfast. Right on the harbour. Perfect for finding a nice restaurant. Free parking dead opposite
7.0 Good
Pros: Worried that reception hours are limited but once checked in we found the facilities comfortable and the owner friendly
Cons: Lack of staff in attendance
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location opposite the citadel. Basic but lovely and warm and clean. Breakfast was really good and plentiful.
Cons: No access to tea and coffee facilities.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic, just at the door of the city wall. It's a little family hotel with very nice and helpfull staff. On the other side of the road there's a big parking lot where it's easy to find a space to park the car.
9.2 Excellent

Cons: No problems.

Pros: Very little
Cons: Everything

Pros: The proprietor was absolutely lovely and we had a laugh about the language barrier. Location was perfect. It was clean and tidy.
Cons: It is extremely dated (think 60's). The towels were old and very small.
7.5 Good
Pros: The lady at reception was friendly and available when I required. The walls of the hotel were thick so it was relatively cool (given the warm outside!).
7.1 Good
Pros: Location close to the Fedtival des Filets Bleus

Overview Reviews
When you a stay at Hôtel Les grands voyageurs in Concarneau, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute walk of Musee de la Peche and Plage de la Croix. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, multilingual staff, and luggage storage.
6.3 Good
Pros: The view and location were great. Helpful staff.
Cons: Dated and funny smelly building and dated room. Creapy atmosphere. We where upgraded to a better room with a buth tub instead of a tiny shower in the first one but it wasn't much of an up gread. The view is indeed amazing,, right infront of the old Town walls but very noisy during the night since you must open the windows to not suffocate from the buildings horrible smell. Considering all the above-too pricey
5.4 Okay
Pros: Superb view from our room overlooking the old town, great seafront location ideal for exploring Concarneau with plenty of bars & restaurants within walking distance. Staff were friendly & welcoming.
Cons: Small room, partly blocked off to create an en-suite bathroom & tiny separate toilet. A small inaccessible wardrobe (unless you moved the table). Tea/coffee provided in sachets but no milk in the room you had to walk down & up 2 flights of stairs to fetch it from the bar - no lift. Limited breakfast choice & it was quite pricy. No toiletries except soap. Parking had to be paid for and we had to move our car on the Monday evening because of the twice weekly market. No evening meal option at this hotel. Wish we had not booked for 3 nights
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location and view were brilliant.
Cons: Breakfast was quite limited.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was ideal. Parking lot in front of the hotel - a few meters walk into the walled city. Large room with two windows and view towards the walled city.
Cons: Breakfast was very sparce. Only white bread and croissants with jam/nutella.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location for access to the ancient town
Cons: Not having parking (it promoted itself as having parking and didn't) there was a parking lot near by but that was always full of tourists going to the ancient town. Also it was next door to several bars that had very loud music that played until 6.00am!! Also the shower broke and they didn't fix it despite being reminded twice ....
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was excellent. My bed was comfortable. When I asked the man in reception about heating my room he did organise to turn on the hotel hydronic system
Cons: * I could hear people going to the toilet through the wall near my head. * The toilet was a small cupboard so I had to have my knee out the door to sit on the toilet. For a 3-person room I am not sure how that would work. * I have never seen, or heard, a motor/pump-driven toilet before. It was very noisy but also didn't fully flush the waste away. There was no ventilation in the toilet cupboard so if there were others it would have been embarrassing. * The shower was only mildly warm * The internet was very poor. I had to do two things: 1.) turn on my Mobile Data which cost me $10AUD, and 2.) at night I took my laptop down 3 floors to the entry hallway and was able to get stable WiFi there.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast
6.7 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: The room was badly arranged. Bathroom facilities with tiny. Our friends bathroom was even smaller! Staff did there best in a crazy booking in system.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This property was exactly what we were looking for. It was far enough out of the town to be peaceful but close enough to be very convenient. The room was very comfortable and the hosts charming and so welcoming. Breakfast was great. Thank you for making our stay so memorable
5.4 Okay
Pros: The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. The owner was very friendly and helpful but it was lucky that I spoke a reasonable amount of French because he did not seem to communicate easily in English. The house and bedrooms were really well furnished and every bedroom had a different theme which was executed very artistically. Overall a very nice hotel
Cons: It was very difficult to find. The bedroom itself was quite small. I did not like having breakfast at a big table with others. There were other rooms in a separate building across the garden and the guests from there were looked after by a different person and had breakfast in a separate breakfast room at separate tables. This made me feel there was an us and them situation and generally I did not understand the setup at all. We were offered breakfast outside but the tables and chairs provided were not enticing. The property could be improved by the provision of bottles of water in the bedrooms and some information on the local area in languages other than French for foreign visitors.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very warm host. Cosy rooms. Breakfast at one table together with the other house-guest. You can connect quickly and exchange about experiences & tips for activities nearby. Breakfast typically starts at 9AM. We initially booked the room Marie-Jeanne, but as it does not have a separate shower and only a bathtub within the room (we did not realize that, when we booked the room) we asked for an alternative room incl. a separate shower. The hosts were very kind and made it possible to switch the room without any issues. Additonally, the host helped us to move our luggages.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location whit “ charme “ in a ancient property near a beautiful castle
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property itself is really very beautiful. Old trees a nice pool and absolutely calm. The right place to relax. Rooms are well taken care off but you need a car to go out for dinner or lunch. Would recommend it any time.
7.5 Good

Pros: The location is ideal for Concarneau. There is tasteful decoration in keeping with the property. The cleanliness was excellent, the bed was very comfortable and the heating was kept at a sensible level. The shower was also very efficient.
Cons: Perhaps an extra light on the mirror in the bathroom for us ladies.

5.0 Okay
Pros: the location is good, 10 minutes from the city center
Cons: The room was not very clean, it is not comfortable
9.0 Excellent
Pros: good breakfast. comfortable room
6.7 Good
Pros: Good position, if you have a car. Staff was kind.
Cons: The hotel is a bit run-down. Beds are newish and comfortable, but the rest of the facilities are a bit lacking: the bathroom is basically that of a camper/caravan, so it's very small and pretty old too. Towels looked clean but they have some "permanent stains". The stairs to get to the rooms are outside and have no cover from rain. The room itself was pretty small, just about 1 meter bigger than the beds on all sides. This all might be OK for the price, but you'd better be aware of what you are booking.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location for onward travel
Cons: Very small, no air conditioning or fan, no toilet paper, stains on cover over bed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was clean. It’s 45 minutes walking from city centre and 7 minutes by car. The staff is nice and smiley. The room is fine. Not so big not so small.
Cons: I didn’t like that it was cold and it took more than 3 hours to be warm. The bathroom is clean but the doors were terrible.

Pros: Location was OK for our purposes. Potential difficulty with access off the roundabout. Parking was difficult at certain periods of the day
Cons: Parking availability
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great, large bedrooms, clean bathrooms, comfy beds. The breakfast was good, quite a good choice, the scrambled egg was especially lovely, very creamy.
Cons: It would be helpful to have air conditioning in the bedrooms, as the hotel was near a busy road we couldn't keep the windows open, and it was rather hot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff on arrival and throughout our whole stay. Best family room we have ever stayed in! The children loved the fact that their beds were up on the mezzanine which also meant the adults could still have the light on once they'd gone to bed! Breakfast was a substantial buffet style continental. We would definitely stay here again!
7.5 Good
Pros: Basic level Perfect for 1 night

Pros: Great location opposite the citadel. Basic but lovely and warm and clean. Breakfast was really good and plentiful.
Cons: No access to tea and coffee facilities.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic, just at the door of the city wall. It's a little family hotel with very nice and helpfull staff. On the other side of the road there's a big parking lot where it's easy to find a space to park the car.

Pros: Excellent location. Friendly welcome. Close to a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars. Good breakfast.
Cons: No problems.

7.5 Good
Pros: Perfect location, nice design in the restaurant
