The two upper rooms have been tastefully converted from the original hayloft with exposed beams and Velux windows and the ground floor room offers an entrance into the garden ideal for visitors with reduced mobility. All rooms offer tea and coffee making facilities colour television clock/radio and hairdryer. Please note if you need the ground floor room we cannot guarantee this room is available when booking. Breakfast is served in our farmhouse dinning room with the morning sun streaming through the French windows and is cooked to order. We offer a wide choice including full English scrambled eggs with smoked salmon eggs benedict cereals fruit yogurt toast homemade jam and honey. Packed lunches can be provided by arrangement.

The Best Western Wessex Royale Hotel Dorchester is a delightful Georgian era hotel located in the centre of Dorchester. The original hotel building was built in 1756 and stood as an old coaching inn. With classically designed rooms and an excellent central location, the hotel is ideal for a relaxing break or business trip. Our bedrooms display a charming and traditional character with supremely comfortable furnishings to help you feel well rested.

Pros: Friendly staff on arrival and at breakfast. Excellent breakfast - well and freshly cooked.
Cons: The only problem I could see was for those arriving by car - the parking is inadequate, and visitors should be warned of this - they are tired at the end of a journey and need to know in advance.

Pros: It was a traditional hotel but well appointed, clean and well run. There was an excellent restuarant and bar, and well equipped bedrooms. My room had a nice deep bath, which was appreciated. The staff were friendly and efficient but not intrusive. there was also free newspaper delivered to your room in the morning, a cooked beakfast and free parking included in the price.
Cons: The car park was small, and disabled access would be difficult - although I doubt that there is much that could be done about either.
