Overview

The high country of central Washington runs on big skies and bigger landscapes, from the engineering marvel of Grand Coulee Dam to summer nights of music out at the Gorge. The Best Western Rama Inn makes a comfortable base in Ephrata, Washington, within a short drive of Sun Lakes-Dry Falls, the dam, and the amphitheater that draws crowds from across the region. Mornings start with a free breakfast before a day on the water or the road, and free parking makes the early start simple. The pool waits for hot afternoons, a flat-screen TV and refrigerator keep each room easy, and the quiet evenings out here are part of the appeal once the music winds down. From the dam to the dunes to a concert under the stars, this corner of the state packs in a lot. Set down here and let the high desert surprise you. Sun Lakes-Dr Falls, just up the road, opens onto one of the largest ancient waterfall scars on earth."
