room and location. Excellent breakfast as well
Quality of suites. Great full breakfast. Firendliness of staff. The first night of our stay, we returned to room to find carlpet soaking wet below the desk. Called front desk to report problem. Maintenance man was there in less than 5 minutes, found the leak behind a plumbing panel. Went to fron desk and returned in less than 5 minutes with keys to a new room. Offered to help us move. Waited outside and then went in to solve the problem. A bit of inconvenience but problem resolved very quickly. One big duvet on bed instead of multiple layers to adjust. Plumbing leak on first night, BUT see likes.
We stayed here before in May this year and enjoyed our stay. This time they were renovating all the rooms and we got one of the newly renovated King suites which was beautiful. All the hall and breakfast areas had new carpet and paint and still had lots more to be done over the next month. Lots of workers and noise going on in the public areas so be aware if this bothers you. You still get the free breakfast and happy hour drinks but things are moved around a little each day. We were out for most of the day plus we didn't hear any noise after 5 pm or so. We used this as a base for day trips to parks and nature areas of the Everglades And even a day to key largo. You're only a few minutes from I-75 and can bypass all the traffic on US 41 when going north or south. We enjoyed a big breakfast in the morning and the evening drinks when we got back from a day of sightseeing. A beautiful park with historical buildings is the Koreshan State Park located just about 10 minutes down the street. We found it very interesting and has beautiful grounds to explore. Now for the reason of only a 4 star rating or less. During the renovations all of the room doors were removed and replaced after the room was done. The problem is they were not replaced properly on a lot of the rooms and don't close or lock properly. Be sure to check your door and make sure it closes and locks completely, ours did not. I reported this the day we checked in at the front desk and the lady made a note and said she would report it right away. Well it was not fixed. We came back to our room the 3rd day and sure enough when I tried the door handle it opened without unlocking it with my card. Someone had entered our room during the day and hadn't checked to see if it locked when they closed the door plus it was 4pm and our room was not touched by housecleaning. I immediately when down to the front desk and told them what happened. Luckily a construction boss was at the desk and he went up with me and checked the door and got some tools to fix it. He had it working perfectly in about 20 minutes. I thanked him and my wife and I checked our room to see if there was anything missing which there wasn't. The maid came by about 4:30 pm and we told her to skip cleaning the room so late and just give us some clean wash cloths and hand towels. She didn't speak a word of English and brought the wrong stuff. We tried to explain the best we could and finally she came back a second time with twice the amount we needed but we just took them and let it go. I have no problem with foreign workers but they need to at least understand the basic words to do their job. They don't have to speak fluent English but just enough to do their job correctly. This was the second time I Have had a problem at this hotel. The last time I started to check in May I was told they didn't have my reservation so I ended up taking a room I didn't want . I called booking .com and they corrected it and got me another room the next day like the one I reserved. I'm not sure who was at fault but it was corrected. I have a feeling the hotel is understaffed because of cost cuts and that's why things don't get done. A person can only do do so many things in 8 hours. Maybe the upper management should run the hotel for a week and see if everything goes smooth like they expect their workers to do??
Loved the layout of the hotel and the service. The TV in the bedroom wouldn't turn on.
Price was less at the hotel front desk than booking it via Kayak And next time I will check it before I book it on line via Kayak Hotel rate was $99 at front desk with breakfast included All was good and breakfast was good too
The breakfast was very basic. For the money I would have expected more.
Great lighting over the bathroom sink. Love that the shower and toilet are separate from the vanity which allows more than one person to get ready at a time. Beds were comfortable. Price was excessive for this type of hotel. Breakfast was nothing special. No electrical outlets available next to the beds. No fan in the bathroom.
Well maintained property. Courteous staff excellent rooms.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel and room itself was very clean and inviting. I liked everything.
Clean, quiet, staff was courteous. This was our second stay at the hotel and we enjoyed it.
Close to hospitals and doctors. My wife being too ill to enjoy it!
staff was super nice, especially Patrick at the front desk. breakfast each morning was great with a lot of hot and cold choices. Coffee was actually pretty good, too. Very recently updated. Clean and new throughout, very comfortable throughout.
Location to outlet mall Paper thin walls, people coming in very late and made noise for several hours. Space under the door was to wide allowing sound and light into the room.
Nice weather and location The ice machines location
Location Was never informed that there was construction going on right next to our room. They claimed they sent an email out to everyone, which I never got, yet I was even there in person a couple weeks prior to our stay to upgrade our room and at that time there was no construction going on and was never told there would be. We have a 3mo. that kept being woken up with all the noise. No cable the fist night. No internet the entire stay until the couple of hours the last day. Was told it was an island wide problem, yet the resort next door had working internet during the time they did not??? The toilet wouldn't flush unless you held the handle down for 30 sec. There were ants all over the kitchen. When I notified the staff about all these issues, rather than providing good customer service I was treated like, "oh well, nothing we can do about it" and got the feeling like I was being treated without respect because I booked through a deal site and not directly as if that didn't make me a true guest. Not once did any of them even apologize for the conditions. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Ever!
The Tiki Bar was incredible, all made possible by the bartenders...Kimberly, Jim and Kevin. They were a blast! The patio was a great place to group up and re-live memories.
Great place all a round!
Beach front had pool and restaurant The rooms were out dated factily was old
Loved the oceanfront suite, great view, full kitchen(not used though),room comfortable, balcony with fabulous sunsets, chairs and lounger, 2tv's, Staff very nice and helpful. Sent us champaign for our second honeymoon. Tiki bar very friendly, great view of sunsets. Will go again.
The efficiency room was nice with a suitable kitchenette and very nice bathroom. Would definitely consider staying there again. Double beds could be improved to queen or single king option. We understand they will be renovating this fall.
The beach was absolutely gorgeous and so weren't the facilities. For an old building it has been taken care of wonderfully. The beach, Tiki bar, pool, breakfast buffet all great! No complaints!! Would return without hesitation! The only thing I thought was weird is the fact that the toilet paper holder in our room was so low to the floor that the paper hung on the floor, but for an older building that's not too bad.
We enjoyed our stay, the beach was a short walk from our room. The sunsets were so beautiful! Wish there was a microwave in room
The proximity to the beach Staff is pleasant Tiki Bar No music after 8pm on Friday night or after 5pm on Saturday Outrigger really needs a bigger pool or a second one
The room and the staff. Construction late morning after arrival in hallways. It was very loud and no warning.
They always seem to want to make sure your stay is enjoyable and worry free. Lack of late night activities.
I liked that all rooms faced oceanside. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and seeing a beautiful view. Easy access to the beach and pool. Also liked that there was a couple of eating places in the hotel. Thought the hotel need some updating. Cracked tiles on the floor and our doors to the balcony were so hard to open and close.
View of the water and the beach. Room was fairly large. Very. Noisy all night long - loud music played until midnight. Room next store had people talking very loud until 3:30 am. Could not sleep at all.
Live bands every night, noisy until 1:30 - 2 am.
The fact that we were on the beach was nice We had ants and knats in our room and that made me certain that I won't be returning.
Infested with all different kinds of bugs
Music to loud late at night. I don't mind the music but it sucked
I had a good time. I wish the A/C was colder but other than that good view, the staff was very pleasant. Love the roof top restaurant. I would recommend to friends and I will be there again.
Love the view from the room. The room was a good size. The music from the live band going on till 2:00 am. The service in the resturants was very poor and unorganized
Great location. Good food in restaurants. Friendly staff. Building could use a facelift. Have been there twice and had a great time. Will go back again.
Forget a quiet getaway- Way too noisy. Playing loud music until midnight and noisy party pool area. Great if you're 21, but skip it otherwise
Great location right on the beach.Spacious clean comfortable well equipped room. A bit down market for my taste, but good value for money.
Loved, loved this location. The resort was top notch. I loved the oceanfront villa's. The one we stayed in was 1 bedroom, with full kitchen, washer/dryer. The breakfast buffet at Jack's was including each morning. Wonderful assortment of all breakfast items. Beach chairs and umbrella were definitely a plus! They had activities going on during the day (although we did not partake) we were there just to relax. The walk into the pier and downtown area was not too far. Maybe about 15 minutes on the beach. Beautiful sunsets, great accommodations overall! The coffee ~ was a bit bitter tasting. Otherwise top notch!
Paddle boards and kayaks are included. Wristband gets you everything. No need to carry a wallet.
The location is perfect. It's nice that the umbrellas and chairs are included. The three pools were nice, too, so that families, children, and adults can have their own space. Neil, a security guard there, was extremely personable. They let you stay after check-out to enjoy the amenities which is great! The main lobby is beautiful. I loved the giant checker board and the fact that there was an arcade. The room was pretty expensive for what it was. The patio and view was great and the kitchen for extended stays is nice, too. But for a one night stay, it was pretty pricey. Not to mention that there were 3 of us, so we had to pay $17 for one breakfast (which was a great buffet, but our third person should have been included, especially for what we paid for the room). It was a little confusing navigating the 3 different buildings, especially when first arriving and parking. I wish there were some pool toys available, but it seemed like they tried to charge you for everything they could.
Everthing about the hotel. was great. i want to take the mattress home with me it was cloudy
Friendly staff, location, sun.............
Rooms were great, views were beautiful, friendly staff! And breakfast was free & very tasty!
My mother and step father booked a vacation here and we drove down from St Petersburg to see them. We only stayed at the resort for 2 days/1 night. We had a wonderful time and the resort was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable and very inviting. The staff was very friendly, and attentive. I have worked in the hospitality industry as a security manager for several years and I was extremely impressed with the pink shell. I will be returning here for another stay in the future.
We had a wonderful time as a couple. Our sweet had 2 balconies overlooking the ocean and we enjoyed sitting on our lanai watching the sunset. Service was excellent! We will definitely be coming back with our little ones! It took a while to get a hold of someone at the reception desk when we had a question. But that was it.
We loved the one bedroom villa with the full kitchen and amazing views of the beach and marina. The resort had everything you would want right on property. Loved that you could take the bus/trolley to the downtown area of Ft Myers beach. The bellman were the most helpful and nice guys! Any questions we had they were more than accommodating. We went fishing with Mike and LOVED every minute of it. We did the back bays and it was perfect. The waves are not big in the back bays so you do not need to worry about sea sickness. We also did the dolphin wave runner tour with Garret that was on property. It was one of the best tours we have ever taken. They let you go fast and also bring you right up close to the dolphin and manatees. I would recommend this resort for people traveling with kids.
The staff was the friendliest and most professional across the board. Private loud company party at the pool.
Our stay at the Pink Shell was top notch. Wonderful staff, great rooms and good value. We have a young family and stayed in the Captiva Villas, perfect set-up. Will be coming back in the future!
Pretty appearance, close to restaurants. Parking convenient. Really dirty carpets in our room- our socks were black in short order. You have to pay for the continental breakfast, and worse yet, you have to pay for a cup of coffee at the breakfast bar. Very poor business type office with old equipment and operating systems. There was even a charge for using the business center that I avoided because I could not get my work done. Extremely poor wifi signal everywhere. I had to use my phone hotspot the whole time. Staff shrugged this off as an "xfinity problem", offering no other solution.
Location Because we didn't book direct and paid less they put us in a room close to the highway, with all that noise which was made worse be a use the ac unit did not get cold. As a result we had to sleep with the sliding door open. The beds are not queen but full size. There are little ants everwhere. The carpet is buckled and a tripping hazard. We were there 4 nights but they only cleaned twice. Once without even vacuuming. When I complained they told me below market fairs don't get the nicer rooms and I should book directly next time!
The pool floor was filled with algae. This was a nice hotel 25 years ago. Also, breakfast wasn't included.
This hotel was excellent for the price we paid. The room was very roomy and clean. The hotel is small but has a nice pool and deck/bar area in front of a lake. Plenty of nice restaurants close by, driving distance from the beach. Recommend it for the value and quality
The beds were great, the staff was wonderful and everything was aesthetically pleasing. It was in a perfect location for what we were needing. I slept well, and I would stay again. I would just bring my own pillow. The pillows were flat and the AC was insufficient size to properly cool the whole room. I would say it was about 77 degrees, cool enough without blankets but not ideal. Housekeeping has room for improvement, as the corners under the vanity had a collection of dirt and dust that didn't just happen overnight. The carpeting needs replaced, it feels almost 'sticky'.
Friendly staff and location close to very good restaurants at the Promende Mattresses. There was a somewhat musty smell in the hallways on the 3rd floor
The location was very convenient. When we checked in, no assisted us with our luggage. One of the days when we returned to our room the door was open and no one was in the room, Housekeeping had cleaned and refreshed and had not shut and locked the door behind them.
location and comfort no problems
Everything was very Clean, the staff is really nice and the hotel in general is really confortable and pretty. the breakfast was a little poor maybe if they add scrambled eggs and some pancakes will be better and the restaurant although the food is really good they don't have much variety.
We passed 4 or 5 times to find the hotel, it was difficult to spot it. They told us that they were not allowed to put a sign on the road. AC was right beside the bed and it was very noisy. No fan in a bathroom which was unusual in a hotel.
Breakfast was good, staff polite Room was very hot. Very uncomfortable entire time.
My husband and I were in the area for the weekend. Good location for us. Also liked that there was a free breakfast and Wi-fi. We'd stay again. We requested a quiet room. We didn't exactly get one. They put us at the end of a hall where there is door to the outside. It banged until quite late with guests going in and out. Thank God for earplugs!
We enjoyed walking along the sandy beach,Then relaxing for a meal at the tiki. The next morning we enjoyed a great breakfast in the restaurant. The pool was fun, also enjoyed the exercise room. rained while we were down there in florida, not the wyndham's fault, We enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham. although they were doing some kind of construction at the hotel, they were all very nice.
Location and amenities
We will be back! Love the location and convenience. Service at the restaurant can and should be improved.
Food was very good. Room was nice - nothing too fancy, but well kept.
Location and beach Palmetto bugs were able to come right in with gap in the door.
access to beach. No hot water one night, staff unfriendly, not enough parking, feels like a low-end beach motel.
This hotel is an older three story rooms around a pool design. It is about six miles south of the entrance to Ft. Myers Beach. This keeps you away from busiest part of Fort Myers Beach and close to southern attractions including Lovers Key State Park. This hotel includes a Pinchers Crab Shack with both indoor seating and a very nice open-air Tiki Bar right by the pool. The draft beer selection in the Tiki Bar was very limited and during my stay only included two choices: Yuengling and Miller Lite. A broader variety and draft craft beer choices would add to the attraction.
This was exactly what we were looking for...a larger than expected room (2 Double Beds), large balcony overlooking a HUGE, white sand beach, BIG TV, tile floor, sparkling clean pool with plenty of chairs & tables to accommodate everyone, immaculate grounds, wonderful staff that would go out of their way to make your stay better, live music nightly during happy hour, great food & drinks at Pinchers, location was excellent with a CVS across the street and a 7-11 two doors down, restaurants within a 5 minute stroll, picture perfect sunsets, clean beach. This "gem" of a property is located between the high rise condos and truly felt cozy and accommodating to my family. We will definitely be coming back
The king sized bed was very comfortable and it was a short walk to the beach. The tiki bar was convenient too. The door handle was loose and so was a screw on the lock.
The beds were unbelievable! Wish we had one like it at home. The rooms were very clean the entire stay, beautiful location. Convenient gas station and shOppenheimer plaza within walking distance. Will come back!!
Not much We got stuck in a poolside/barside room with a band that had a sound system that was more appropriate for Yankee Stadium. We were told that they would quit by 8:00 PM. The desk clerk who tod us this lied - the band finally stopped a bit after 9:00, and only then because it started to rain on them. It was deafening inside our room, which we had booked for one night to celebrate our 44th anniversary. We would never go there again.
proximity to the beach Inside the room was fine. Look of the building -- it looks old and not different than any cheap motel. Front desk attendant - Not friendly, not welcoming. Beach front - there was stagnant water between hotel and the beach, which produced a very bad odour.
Waterfront, All Rooms have beach view. Great location. Walking distance from the peer and all restaurants. No room service for food. Although the chairs and umbrellas on the beach are rented by another company different that the hotel I think the hotel should encourage the rental company to update the wooden chairs that they have to offer. They are really old and very small.
Clean. Friendly staff. Perfect location. Close to pier and restaurants. Right on the beach! Nothing!
My family and I loved everything about this hotel. Great location, clean, yummy continental breakfast, and you can't beat the ocean views from every room. We DEFINITELY plan on returning. Our only disappointment was leaving.
Large rooms and balconies, separate pools for adults and children. Water sports. Pool didn't open until about 9. Far from the action but I appreciated that so no bar noise.
Location Beautiful beach Room had some bugs in bathroom and kitchen areas Prices a little high for quality and size
The hotel is away from all the bustle of the "main drag" on Estero Island, and relatively quiet. Clean, comfortable room with a great view of the Gulf. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions I had about good restaurants, etc. Elevator in my building, good since I was on the top floor. Pool closed at dusk; would have liked it to be open until later as it would have been nice to have been able to relax poolside in the evenings. Stove top in the room but no oven, no breakfast or even coffee provided in the mornings.
The location is great. Our unit was very clean and had wonderful views. The balcony is such a plus. It added extra space as well as ambience for looking out over the water. We had only planned to stay for one night and extended our stay to 3 nights. No
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
I really enjoyed my interactions with the staff.
Good size room with every thing we have been looking for in a hotel for the 2 weeks we have been in Florida but have not found until now. Will definitely book into Comfort Inns in the future. Stayed 2 nights instead of just one. Brenda
Location was near everything from beach to business to family owned restaurant. Ongoing construction at entrance.
I like bed bed Nothing It wasn't ready when promised.I got 4 not 3 or 2 or 1 one like like you should have. I've stay in hotels before, probably about 10 a year. This one is the worst of the worst. The first one wasn't ready so they put me in a different one, which was occupied by her children, the next one had been cleaned yet, now I've been waiting 4 hrs. Then they put me in a 4th. you don't know it until you go to bed if they have BED BUGS. OMG you could see them and the staff said "this is Florida, what do you expect?" The place should be torn down.
The location related to where I needed to be for my trip. I was able to walk to the location from how close it was.
The hotel was an excellent short stay location convenient for visitors touring the Everglades and on route between southern Florida coastal resorts and Key West. If you were lucky you would see the hotels own resident Aligator in the adjacent lake!
Location Rooms need a refresh, wear and tear of everyday use has the facility needing improvement compared to other Hampton Inns.
Fair location, friendly staff, decent mattresses, nice bathroom apart from the old shower head. Got woken up at 9AM on the day of my departure by housekeeping...then interrupted while showering at 10:30. Checkout is at noon. There is NO REASON to disturb anyone who has not yet checked out before then, let alone twice.
Great staff. Really nice breakfast. Newly refurbished and very clean.
Price. It was under construction.
everything except the elevator This hotel really needs a second elevator.
The complete staff was pleasant to talk to from property worker to the maids. and had great time talking with the bar staff Rodney, Shelly, Pam, and Dave love all them planning on returning next year and hope I can talk my staff to join me. Thank you for a great week
The location is great and you really couldn't beat the very cheap price. The room was so-so in terms of cleanliness--little things like the old coffee not having been cleaned out of the pot. Actually, the entire stay could have been much more pleasant if the hotel would have met even one of our requests--little things, like checking in at 2:30 instead of 3 or meeting our request for 2 beds or a king (we ended up with a queen). We were also immediately next to the bar, which made it quite loud.
It hadbeverything and more u needed to stay Loved it all
The Light House is prime spot to Everything. Walking distance to everything that you need to get to. Would Highly recommend, Good Fun People all around!!! That I had to leave.
The location is great, very convenient for restaurants, bars, gift stores and the beach (or bay). Our room was clean, and the staff was friendly. We ate at the resort a couple of times, and the food was good. The breakfast burrito was excellent, and I appreciate how the chef/cook presented it. If it would have been served with fresh pico and guacamole instead of store bought salsa, I'd have been comfortable paying $2+ more for it (and it would have been a better overall experience). The room was very small, which should be noted, but that was completely fine with us. If you plan to hang out in your room, you may see if they have a bigger space available, as the only seating is the bed and two rather uncomfortable bar stools. The grounds are absolutely stunning, with more plant-life than you can even take in. We kept getting turned around/lost in the resort, because it was so densely landscaped and beautiful. When we pulled up the woman working the counter was smoking on the front step and hanging out with her family. It was Father's day, so I get it, but it's still not professional (she was very nice and attentive when we walked up). The Tiki Bar is a cool concept, and we've actually been going there for years. It feels a bit run-down and dirty. There are WAY too many TV's in it, which detract from what a Tiki Bar is IMO. The TV's also had little dirty signs on them that said "NFL Game"....it was June. These signs looked like they were supposed to be changed daily/hourly depending on what was actually on said TV, but they had obviously not been changed in some time. I'm assuming they have gone after the sports bar angle to attract more business during football season, but it sure takes away from the tropical feel.
Everything! Clean rooms great location great staff! Nothing
Close to everything Mattresses infested with bugs. Was told they were termites and no other rooms were available. After sleeping 2 nights in that room we have bites all over us. Manager gave us a $25 gift card for my children and I to use at the tiki bar. Finally moved to an upgraded room and only comped for one night. The upgraded room had roaches. This is also not a very family oriented hotel. The locals like to hang out at this tiki bar. Very loud all day and all night. Hotel staff also leaves every night at 11pm.
Tiki bar and swimming pools We had a two bedroom suite that was facing the tiki bar. Unfortunately for us, they stay open until 2 AM which made sleep difficult and there was a rowdy crowd nearby that was very noisy outside our room. I would not recommend this place unless you're looking to party all night. Perhaps if we had been in a different area things would have better.
Everything was right there Parking
Very nice old Florida atmosphere with a great tiki bar. The rooms were large and the king bed was very comfortable. The furniture a bit dated but nice, clean and neat. On May 17th, a not so well-traveled person, said the price was too high for off season. We stayed there the evening of June 23 and I thought the price was very reasonable for this type of property and the location.
