The room and the staff. Construction late morning after arrival in hallways. It was very loud and no warning.
Location Was never informed that there was construction going on right next to our room. They claimed they sent an email out to everyone, which I never got, yet I was even there in person a couple weeks prior to our stay to upgrade our room and at that time there was no construction going on and was never told there would be. We have a 3mo. that kept being woken up with all the noise. No cable the fist night. No internet the entire stay until the couple of hours the last day. Was told it was an island wide problem, yet the resort next door had working internet during the time they did not??? The toilet wouldn't flush unless you held the handle down for 30 sec. There were ants all over the kitchen. When I notified the staff about all these issues, rather than providing good customer service I was treated like, "oh well, nothing we can do about it" and got the feeling like I was being treated without respect because I booked through a deal site and not directly as if that didn't make me a true guest. Not once did any of them even apologize for the conditions. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Ever!
Nice weather and location The ice machines location
Loved the oceanfront suite, great view, full kitchen(not used though),room comfortable, balcony with fabulous sunsets, chairs and lounger, 2tv's, Staff very nice and helpful. Sent us champaign for our second honeymoon. Tiki bar very friendly, great view of sunsets. Will go again.
The Tiki Bar was incredible, all made possible by the bartenders...Kimberly, Jim and Kevin. They were a blast! The patio was a great place to group up and re-live memories.
The proximity to the beach Staff is pleasant Tiki Bar No music after 8pm on Friday night or after 5pm on Saturday Outrigger really needs a bigger pool or a second one
room and location. Excellent breakfast as well
Price was less at the hotel front desk than booking it via Kayak And next time I will check it before I book it on line via Kayak Hotel rate was $99 at front desk with breakfast included All was good and breakfast was good too
We stayed here before in May this year and enjoyed our stay. This time they were renovating all the rooms and we got one of the newly renovated King suites which was beautiful. All the hall and breakfast areas had new carpet and paint and still had lots more to be done over the next month. Lots of workers and noise going on in the public areas so be aware if this bothers you. You still get the free breakfast and happy hour drinks but things are moved around a little each day. We were out for most of the day plus we didn't hear any noise after 5 pm or so. We used this as a base for day trips to parks and nature areas of the Everglades And even a day to key largo. You're only a few minutes from I-75 and can bypass all the traffic on US 41 when going north or south. We enjoyed a big breakfast in the morning and the evening drinks when we got back from a day of sightseeing. A beautiful park with historical buildings is the Koreshan State Park located just about 10 minutes down the street. We found it very interesting and has beautiful grounds to explore. Now for the reason of only a 4 star rating or less. During the renovations all of the room doors were removed and replaced after the room was done. The problem is they were not replaced properly on a lot of the rooms and don't close or lock properly. Be sure to check your door and make sure it closes and locks completely, ours did not. I reported this the day we checked in at the front desk and the lady made a note and said she would report it right away. Well it was not fixed. We came back to our room the 3rd day and sure enough when I tried the door handle it opened without unlocking it with my card. Someone had entered our room during the day and hadn't checked to see if it locked when they closed the door plus it was 4pm and our room was not touched by housecleaning. I immediately when down to the front desk and told them what happened. Luckily a construction boss was at the desk and he went up with me and checked the door and got some tools to fix it. He had it working perfectly in about 20 minutes. I thanked him and my wife and I checked our room to see if there was anything missing which there wasn't. The maid came by about 4:30 pm and we told her to skip cleaning the room so late and just give us some clean wash cloths and hand towels. She didn't speak a word of English and brought the wrong stuff. We tried to explain the best we could and finally she came back a second time with twice the amount we needed but we just took them and let it go. I have no problem with foreign workers but they need to at least understand the basic words to do their job. They don't have to speak fluent English but just enough to do their job correctly. This was the second time I Have had a problem at this hotel. The last time I started to check in May I was told they didn't have my reservation so I ended up taking a room I didn't want . I called booking .com and they corrected it and got me another room the next day like the one I reserved. I'm not sure who was at fault but it was corrected. I have a feeling the hotel is understaffed because of cost cuts and that's why things don't get done. A person can only do do so many things in 8 hours. Maybe the upper management should run the hotel for a week and see if everything goes smooth like they expect their workers to do??
Quality of suites. Great full breakfast. Firendliness of staff. The first night of our stay, we returned to room to find carlpet soaking wet below the desk. Called front desk to report problem. Maintenance man was there in less than 5 minutes, found the leak behind a plumbing panel. Went to fron desk and returned in less than 5 minutes with keys to a new room. Offered to help us move. Waited outside and then went in to solve the problem. A bit of inconvenience but problem resolved very quickly. One big duvet on bed instead of multiple layers to adjust. Plumbing leak on first night, BUT see likes.
Loved the layout of the hotel and the service. The TV in the bedroom wouldn't turn on.
The location was great with a beautiful view. Loved being close to the beach and having a short drive to the shops and restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The parking wasn't very accommodating. The lot is gravel so the parking spaces aren't marked. The residents would take too much space up, so that would leave a lot less parking places. There were several times we would have to park on the other side of the hotel. The shower door wouldn't stay shut and water would get on the bathroom floor.
Secluded beach front location. Well maintained for an older resort. The hotel is arranged so that most rooms have a view of the gulf. On site restaurant was very good.
Room was nice. Kitchenette was well supplied. View was breathtaking. bathroom counter top was spacious. Adored our screened-in balcony with chairs and table--it even has little hooks to hang out your wet bathing suit! Tons of hangers in the closet was really helpful. Room safe was very helpful to put wallets away when going to the beach. Pool was lovely. Pool bar was great for a drink or a snack. Plenty of pool towels for poolside or oceanside use. Could inexpensively rent umbrella and chairs for beach use. Business center let me get my boarding passes printed easily. Front desk was very nice and always helpful. Plenty of parking near our room. We did have one roach in our room, but front desk had spray and it's the only negative issue we had.. Cleaning team was mediocre. They did an okay job but not a terrific job.
Great location on the beach. Small room and very small bathroom 1 person only. Room had light outside door that shine in the room.
Quiet and relaxing setting, Tiled room made it for a clean stay without the worries of carpet stains or oders. Updated bathroom is nice. The refrigerator and microwave are a plus for snack packing. Flat screen Television has a clear picture. Very informative and friendly staff.
Did not clean room very well. Leftover coffee from AM was left in pot and coffee cups were never washed out just left in bed area. The coffeemaker is located in the bathroom on the small sink counter! Yuk! Forgot to empty trash cans. Beds were obviously made in a rush. This place is definitely in need of some updating, both inside and out!!
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel and room itself was very clean and inviting. I liked everything.
Location to outlet mall Paper thin walls, people coming in very late and made noise for several hours. Space under the door was to wide allowing sound and light into the room.
staff was super nice, especially Patrick at the front desk. breakfast each morning was great with a lot of hot and cold choices. Coffee was actually pretty good, too. Very recently updated. Clean and new throughout, very comfortable throughout.
Close to hospitals and doctors. My wife being too ill to enjoy it!
Clean, quiet, staff was courteous. This was our second stay at the hotel and we enjoyed it.
It was clean. Cool shower head. No security chain on door. Beds too small and poor quality. Furnishings outdated. Shower turned on by itself in middle of the night. Very loud - was woken up by what sounded like a hundred glass bottles being dumped onto a pile of glass at 1am. Incredibly overpriced for the quality.
an older resort, but beds were very nice, the shower was to die for! Tiki hut was fun and crowded. The Band was too loud, had to yell at the person next to me. Seems everyone wants to not be heard anymore. Overall great value, I would stay again.
More information about hotel in room needed. How pool towls, where breakfast was, locations of local beaches, taxi phone numbers
Facilities were nice, pool was great and warm. Onsite tiki bar and restaurant were great.
Entertainment, clean, comfort. Location , was fantastic The breakfast could be better. Set up was good. Need fruit. Oatmeal , milk, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bread, toaster. Everything but breakfast
Good standing ,clean, good attention ,exelent plases
Friendly staff and comfortable room. Not all tv channels HD. Breakfast organization was somewhat chaotic.
We were celebrating a night away from the children for our anniversary. Very nice accommodations. Clean, professional staff and very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wish it was longer. Prices for in room meals especially breakfast WAY too expensive. We ate at an expensive rstaurant a couple of miles away instead. Marriott had a tendency to be overpriced for moderately tasting food.
Pool/bar area Room AC inlet /outlet were next to the bed and dirty. I paid for Water view but i got City View. Overpriced for what they offer. This is my first and last stay at Marriott.
Huge rooms, over looking the water & pool. Just sitting on the balcony and enjoying the view was relaxation in itself. Friendly staff Probably the best equipped hotel gym I've ever seen (but its not in the main hotel). "Free wifi" (but requires daily refresh), but is included in the mandatory resort fee. Option to self-park, saving valet parking fees. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere, which requires a drive for anything and everything. Outdoor music started at 8am, so difficult to lie in if you want to leave your windows open overnight. No happy hour at the pool bar. No fridge in the room.
Excellent location near Sanibel Beach Gateway, price great, comfortable and very clean, beautiful pool area, nice little breakfast bar, and most important: dog friendly.
The room smelled like mildew was growing in it.
the hotel is in a good location, the room is spacious and it has a big pool. the carpet was dirty.
I liked the price The rooms did not feel clean and the free breakfast was horrible. No eggs, bacon, sausage or anything of substance.
The pre-check in service allowed me to have in the room things, such as extra pillows and towels, that I would have otherwise needed to ask for after checking in. The hotel location was good and the outside was kept up well. The bathroom was roomy and had a lot of counter space and room for 2 people in it at once, if necessary. The room looked and felt old and needed some renovation. The mattresses were softer and a bit misshapen, indicating they were old. And the bathroom faucets, etc., had pitting and corrosion on the surface. It just seemed like it really needed some renovation considering the price we paid, which wasn't terribly expensive for a place so close to Sanibel, but we still expected an updated facility. The breakfast was OK, but they started putting things away at 9 AM, so you couldn't sleep in!
I thought it was clean and comfortable. Great value I wish the pool towels were bigger
It was my goal to find affordable lodging near the beaches for a last minute get-a-way. The pool (heated, large) turned out to be a main attraction for my teens and they preferred to be at the hotel. Staff was friendly, helpful. Breakfast each morning was convenient and enough to satisfy the family. Rooms were quiet, dark and comfortable for sleeping. Bathroom was damp, musty. Maids neglected floors with daily service and missed our room completely one day.
Loved the pool! A minor thing, but we wish that they served real coffee at the breakfast. It was pretty much undrinkable -- tasted like instant (I think it was some sort of concentrate mixed with hot water).
Average low budget chain hotel except the nightstand had a big booger smeared on it and the carpet had a bunch of crumbs and toenail clippings on it. I asked the front desk if they could have someone vacuum the next time they cleaned the room but didn't notice a difference when I came back later.
The pool are was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room smelled like mold and could use a good scrub down in the bathroom. It is unlikely I will stay at this hotel chain again.
We enjoyed our stay there very much. Would stay there again. If there was a negative to it, we had to travel a ways to get a selection of restaurants but only minor inconvenience..
location, sea, nature
We had a wonderful time as a couple. Our sweet had 2 balconies overlooking the ocean and we enjoyed sitting on our lanai watching the sunset. Service was excellent! We will definitely be coming back with our little ones! It took a while to get a hold of someone at the reception desk when we had a question. But that was it.
Our stay at the Pink Shell was top notch. Wonderful staff, great rooms and good value. We have a young family and stayed in the Captiva Villas, perfect set-up. Will be coming back in the future!
Rooms were great, views were beautiful, friendly staff! And breakfast was free & very tasty!
The staff was the friendliest and most professional across the board. Private loud company party at the pool.
The location is perfect. It's nice that the umbrellas and chairs are included. The three pools were nice, too, so that families, children, and adults can have their own space. Neil, a security guard there, was extremely personable. They let you stay after check-out to enjoy the amenities which is great! The main lobby is beautiful. I loved the giant checker board and the fact that there was an arcade. The room was pretty expensive for what it was. The patio and view was great and the kitchen for extended stays is nice, too. But for a one night stay, it was pretty pricey. Not to mention that there were 3 of us, so we had to pay $17 for one breakfast (which was a great buffet, but our third person should have been included, especially for what we paid for the room). It was a little confusing navigating the 3 different buildings, especially when first arriving and parking. I wish there were some pool toys available, but it seemed like they tried to charge you for everything they could.
The location, on the beach, plus the type of room that we could get, a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apt. with a very nice screened in porch, are great. The main pool area, with it's pool side bar, a lot of lounges and the waterfall in the pool, were new since the last time we stayed here and they are great. And the whole places is clean and neat.
Loved, loved this location. The resort was top notch. I loved the oceanfront villa's. The one we stayed in was 1 bedroom, with full kitchen, washer/dryer. The breakfast buffet at Jack's was including each morning. Wonderful assortment of all breakfast items. Beach chairs and umbrella were definitely a plus! They had activities going on during the day (although we did not partake) we were there just to relax. The walk into the pier and downtown area was not too far. Maybe about 15 minutes on the beach. Beautiful sunsets, great accommodations overall! The coffee ~ was a bit bitter tasting. Otherwise top notch!
My mother and step father booked a vacation here and we drove down from St Petersburg to see them. We only stayed at the resort for 2 days/1 night. We had a wonderful time and the resort was amazing. The room was clean, comfortable and very inviting. The staff was very friendly, and attentive. I have worked in the hospitality industry as a security manager for several years and I was extremely impressed with the pink shell. I will be returning here for another stay in the future.
We live 20 minutes away, We wanted a mini Vacation and a place that let us feel like we got away. Great place just to enjoy the Beach, The view and the service Thanks for a very Nice week end!
Bar outside watching sunset
Everthing about the hotel. was great. i want to take the mattress home with me it was cloudy
Great location right on the beach.Spacious clean comfortable well equipped room. A bit down market for my taste, but good value for money.
I had a good time. I wish the A/C was colder but other than that good view, the staff was very pleasant. Love the roof top restaurant. I would recommend to friends and I will be there again.
The fact that we were on the beach was nice We had ants and knats in our room and that made me certain that I won't be returning.
Love the view from the room. The room was a good size. The music from the live band going on till 2:00 am. The service in the resturants was very poor and unorganized
Music to loud late at night. I don't mind the music but it sucked
View of the water and the beach. Room was fairly large. Very. Noisy all night long - loud music played until midnight. Room next store had people talking very loud until 3:30 am. Could not sleep at all.
I liked that all rooms faced oceanside. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and seeing a beautiful view. Easy access to the beach and pool. Also liked that there was a couple of eating places in the hotel. Thought the hotel need some updating. Cracked tiles on the floor and our doors to the balcony were so hard to open and close.
Infested with all different kinds of bugs
Hotel is ok and location was great, but it is a 3 star hotel at best, versus the 4 star rating. Pillows were not comfortable.
Time to renovate or take the Crown name down.
Staff is super. My check in was a breeze and I recieved an upgrade. The bartender in club level was very friendly. Also, the aromatherapy packets in the bedroom were a nice touch. The food at the hotel restaurant was terrible and the hotel is in desperate need of a freshening up. You can really see its age
I loved the hotel staff and the room That my floor was suppose to be non smoking and it smelled like smoke but other than that everything else was great services room and staff and hotel
everything it is a perfect hotel nothing
This hotel & resort is the highest quality in every aspect. Location and standard of the accommodation rates 10 from the many hotels i have stayed at in my life! Food and drink facilities excellent and very reasonabl priced.I have no doubt that this will be very popular and prices will double as it becomes well known.we will return! Hotel has quite a small pool although resort has other pools, hotel pool would not cope if hotel was full
The hotel is in a beautiful marina location close to the twon of Cape Coral and about 30 minutes from Fort Myers. It has a daily free water taxi to Fort Myers Beach. Cleaning and maintenance not up to expected Westin standards. Staff fail to take ownerhsipm of issues raised; but simply pass the buck from one to another. Poor water flow even after filters cleaned. Disturbance before dawn due to on site construction work.
Everything was very Clean, the staff is really nice and the hotel in general is really confortable and pretty. the breakfast was a little poor maybe if they add scrambled eggs and some pancakes will be better and the restaurant although the food is really good they don't have much variety.
The beds were great, the staff was wonderful and everything was aesthetically pleasing. It was in a perfect location for what we were needing. I slept well, and I would stay again. I would just bring my own pillow. The pillows were flat and the AC was insufficient size to properly cool the whole room. I would say it was about 77 degrees, cool enough without blankets but not ideal. Housekeeping has room for improvement, as the corners under the vanity had a collection of dirt and dust that didn't just happen overnight. The carpeting needs replaced, it feels almost 'sticky'.
The location was very convenient. When we checked in, no assisted us with our luggage. One of the days when we returned to our room the door was open and no one was in the room, Housekeeping had cleaned and refreshed and had not shut and locked the door behind them.
This hotel was excellent for the price we paid. The room was very roomy and clean. The hotel is small but has a nice pool and deck/bar area in front of a lake. Plenty of nice restaurants close by, driving distance from the beach. Recommend it for the value and quality
Pretty appearance, close to restaurants. Parking convenient. Really dirty carpets in our room- our socks were black in short order. You have to pay for the continental breakfast, and worse yet, you have to pay for a cup of coffee at the breakfast bar. Very poor business type office with old equipment and operating systems. There was even a charge for using the business center that I avoided because I could not get my work done. Extremely poor wifi signal everywhere. I had to use my phone hotspot the whole time. Staff shrugged this off as an "xfinity problem", offering no other solution.
Friendly staff and location close to very good restaurants at the Promende Mattresses. There was a somewhat musty smell in the hallways on the 3rd floor
Location Because we didn't book direct and paid less they put us in a room close to the highway, with all that noise which was made worse be a use the ac unit did not get cold. As a result we had to sleep with the sliding door open. The beds are not queen but full size. There are little ants everwhere. The carpet is buckled and a tripping hazard. We were there 4 nights but they only cleaned twice. Once without even vacuuming. When I complained they told me below market fairs don't get the nicer rooms and I should book directly next time!
location and comfort no problems
The pool floor was filled with algae. This was a nice hotel 25 years ago. Also, breakfast wasn't included.
Breakfast was good, staff polite Room was very hot. Very uncomfortable entire time.
My husband and I were in the area for the weekend. Good location for us. Also liked that there was a free breakfast and Wi-fi. We'd stay again. We requested a quiet room. We didn't exactly get one. They put us at the end of a hall where there is door to the outside. It banged until quite late with guests going in and out. Thank God for earplugs!
We passed 4 or 5 times to find the hotel, it was difficult to spot it. They told us that they were not allowed to put a sign on the road. AC was right beside the bed and it was very noisy. No fan in a bathroom which was unusual in a hotel.
Chose this location as it was very close to the beach where we were married and wanted to return to that spot with little to no difficulty. Nothing
Condo could use an upgrade. Bathroom very small. Carpet in poor condition.
i loved Danny! He was so awesome! Did everything he could to make our stay great! Thanks! It was being renovated but that means it will just be better later
New bedding and spreads. Also new carpet. Bathroom needed updating and more cleaning. Fixtures rusty.
Everything was clean. Staff very nice. Very well equiped and breakfast very good too. The best for that money.
Very clean & comfortable. Many restaurants nearby. The breakfast is carb-heavy & sweet. There is not much in the way of protein. We were told we they couldn't get us a blanket because housekeeping had gone home. Staff was friendly & helpful but they could have used a little more help.
Nice pool, clean room front desk was rude, breakfast could've been better, took $50 deposit out for room which takes up to 7 days to be returned to credit card.
The location was great, service was great, room was big, bed was comfortable, breakfast was included. We booked a non smoking king sized bed room and that's what we got. I read some of the other reviews that were posted and was nervous at first. But it's $40 a night people you're not gonna get a 5 star experience. LOL.
It was a nice well taken cared place. You can't beat the price and it was clean. No hot H2O so I had to shower with cold water. Told girl at the front desk and she said they could have fix that.
facilities old, cockroaches in my room!!!!
The staff were amazing, they endured we had everything we needed
It's a nice hotel in a great location - and the front desk staff were fantastic. Hate to go to a really nice hotel and in the room have only plastic cups wrapped in plastic for water, or to drink my coffee in a flimsy paper cup in my room.
location and staff leaky air conditioner....water all over the balcony slow-draining sink in the bathroom sand fleas in the bed maid cleaned the coffee cups with her bare hands...no gloves....no soap...
Love, love, love Sanibel Island and Sanibel Inn. Everybody was very helpful. Front desk staff especially Eric was welcoming and helpful. I would definitely go back again and stay here. Everything
Resort was not a big fancy place, but was smaller and quieter which was perfect for myself and teenage daughter! There was a mix of all types of guests from young couples, to families and retired couples. Everything you needed was right there at the resort or a short bike ride away. We loved the availability to take out a bike any time during the day. The resort staff were friendly and always helpful. The beach was clean and full of shells, just beautiful! The pool was also relaxing when the beach got too warm. It was a nice size with plenty of chairs and a pool side bar and small cafe. We loved the trip and resort and can't wait to take the whole family back! The only negative was that if the wind was above 35 mph we couldn't use umbrellas on the beach and there was limited shade at the pool.
Very clean room. Staff was very friendly. Loved that to use bicycle, umbrella and kayaks did not cost us additional money. Restaurant on premise was very good food and friendly staff. Great value for your money. Easy to get find the hotel.
Just very peaceful and quiet. Everybody went out of their way to make my stay as pleasant as can be, and I think them for it.
Great location Beautiful grounds that have a lot of potential if properly maintained Poorly maintained. Ponds are all neglected. Air conditioning is old and very noisy. Interior needs updating and maintenance. "24 hour Coffee" that's cold most of the time. This hotel would be awesome if it was updated and well maintained.
Beach Mosquitoes. Lots of mosquitoes
Clean, friendly and close to the beach. The restaurant and gift shop were very pricey so we chose to not make use of them. The poolside bar had fabulous cocktails and great burgers that we enjoyed a lot.
