9.0 Excellent
Pros: Stuff very welcoming, great facilities, clean rooms and nice view from the room. We loved the Island buffet. Whole resort is well maintained with lots of plants! Infinity pool was one of our favorite spots in resort. Would definitely recommend this resort to my family and friends! :)
Cons: You can find gecko (little lizard) in the room occasionally, which is harmless for people but you need to get use to that. It took me few days to get use to him. :)
7.9 Good
Pros: Very nice hotel at a great location. Overall a place worth to stay
Cons: Service could be improved eg dirty glasses and water bottles have not been replaced without asking explicitly. In general too expensive compared to many other places around

Cons: Night entertainment finish very early 10:30 !!! Bar closes at 11 pm !!!!! room in ground level while we ask to have higher level to see the sea ..when i told them about it They offer to change the rooms but i have to be apart from my kids in the next room or i change there room and bay extra ..so no change done . 9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. With great beach.
6.3 Good
Pros: Excellent landscape design, Japanese style gardens.
Cons: The hotel desperately needs renovation. Furniture is worn, sunbeds have holes in linen. So it’s terribly overpriced. Think of it as a regular 4 star hotel somewhere in Egypt.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good Food, Safe Beach, Comfortable Spa and an exceptionally friendly and professional Dive Center.
Cons: Room was not clean and was not properly cleaned and services after multiple requests to do so. Unfriendly and at times even rude staff. Multiple scalations to management during the stay did not lead to any improvements.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location,Restaurants
Cons: Lack of communication from the hotel regarding weather updates and change of gala dinner date without giving much information.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The check in took more than 4 hours, as they didn’t prepare connecting rooms even though I have requested clearly while booking. I had to accept a downgrade for the rooms I paid for to get connecting rooms after a long wait.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good place, good restaurant, large pool but only one, large beutiful area
Cons: Room was not ready on time, we waited for another 2 hours. Room were dark, dont cozy, needed renovation
7.4 Good
Pros: Fantastic pool area and right on the beach front, both the pool and beach has a number of sun loungers with cushions which is lovely. Also scattered around the beautiful gardens are a number of four poster beds that you can lay on and watch the sun go down. The buffet restaurant has a large selection of food that should cater for everybody’s needs, you can also use the spa pool and sauna with no extra charge. You just need to visit the spa to pre book. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Cons: The hotel is beautiful and its a shame that the staff let it down so badly, they are useless. If you order a coffee for breakfast you might have to remind them a few times before it actually arrives. The new sentence learnt whilst staying at the Sofitel is “no it’s not possible” They sell it as 5 restaurants. However 1 is a beach bar so it’s more of a lunchtime place to eat not the evening. The remaining 4 comprises of a Buffett (open every day) and Chinese and Japanese (open every other day) plus an a la carte restaurant with approx £80pp supplement. So if you like it or not you will be dining in the buffet restaurant for half you’re holiday. Veginterians or anybody with special dieterty requests be aware. Even though there is a leaflet in the room saying to contact the restaurant manager for an special requests the answers we got was “it’s not possible” that’s the Japanese and al a carte out as they have no veggie options. The Chinese restaurant has 3 options all priced around £15 but when you have paid £100 HB supplement per person per night its not really value for money. The sunloungers are great, but there seemed to be a reserve culture going on. As beds seemed to get reserved with a book or a towel from the night before and the hotel staff did nothing about this. All in all it’s a beautiful hotel. Would I go back. No. So I guess that says it all.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Breakfast was mediocre compared to other hotels
Cons: room was musty - service on the day of the cyclone was extremely poor and then charged a ridiculous amount for the only available meal - you should be ashamed to take advantage of people in this fashion
5.8 Okay
Pros: All Facilities are very very good and the hotel deserves better management staff!!!
Cons: The staff are not helpful at all..!!

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The kids club, the pool, the beach, the service. Everything was great!
Cons: Men can’t access the buffet if not in pants!
7.0 Good
Pros: The variety of food was very good. It is great you can enjoy the facilities at its sister hotel Sugar Beach, the gym, the restaurants and bars. Staff were friendly too.
Cons: Our bathroom smelt of damp. If it wasn't for the fact we requested a room next to our families we would have asked to move. For the price we paid, a damp smelling room should not have been an issue. The finish and size of the beach pavilion room was not to 4star standard. We have stayed in much nicer and bigger beach room resorts for a far cheaper price. The kettle and shower head was also broken.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel bar/ restaurant on the beach and bar and food service to beachbeds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, hospitality, a very nice environment, clean room and the best sunset on the island. Great food (magenta, wolmar and coconut). See you in the next year
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are single bungalows immersed in a Marvell tropical garden and few steps only from the beach: absolutely unique and exclusive ! Lovely beach, large, white sand and very well equipped . Good choice of restaurants. Personally I have adored the Magenta sea food restaurant. Staff is great, excellent cleaning ! Definitely recommended!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs were super friendly and helpful. Check-in process was very chill and relax. The sugar beach hotel is just next door, guests can enjoy the facilities from both sides. We stayed there for 4 days, the dinner buffet had different themes every night.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location, good beach, good live music but sea cleanness might change due to wind.
Cons: Desserts are really in bad taste and water is not free at dinners if you are a half board.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location and settings (beach, gardens, sunset), friendliness of staff (except for grumpy middle aged ladies at the breakfast service who cannot be bothered to serve guests and rather commandeer the young waiters)
Cons: Poor value for money compared to all other places we have seen so far on Mauritius: food, both buffet and a la carte, rooms a bit “tired”, pool rather small for the size of the resort.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and welcoming Large variety for buffet breakfast and dinner As a vegetarian there were many options available. This is one of the reasons that this is my 2nd stay here for the Chinese New Year The staff was very helpful in amending our stay due to the cyclone which visited Mauritius at the eve of the Chinese New Year. A special thanks to Melissa who so kindly arranged everything in spite being off on that day I highly recommend this hotel
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was always very clean, the location is beautiful, the beach is nice and quiet, you can always swim safe. The food was excellent. We have food allergy and the chef always cared about us, remembered what we can eat or not, and prepared us special meal too. We would like to return to this resort and I reccommend it everybody.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had 3 days in Sands and were impressed by the service and standards. Everything was just perfect - from the moment you are arriving and you have Check-in on the sofa enjoying the best view and a glass of champagne till the end check - out. Breakfasts have lots of choices, as well as dinners. Every day is different theme and all was very tasty and made with love. The hotel has lots of place on the beach and by the pool, we didn’t have any problem to get the sun bed at any time of the day. There is a nice compliment from the hotel- all water activities are free- it is a great gift, we tried everything and enjoyed so much. It is vey well maintained property with sea view from all rooms, with great service and very tasty food. Highly recommended to stay for any occasions. We would like to thank personally Soudesh- consierge bnof the hotel for amazing hospitality and assistance with air Mauritius, our pasta man Abhishek- he is a sweetheart; the guys from water sport for taking care of us and being patient as we were very new for water ski, and the chief of animation- sorry can’t remember his name. Guys you are all great! Thank you for best days!
Cons: Only one thing we didn’t like- one night during the dinner the waiter was pushing too much to order the wine and we didn’t want but he asked 2 more times.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location was nice, lots of free activities to do, live band every night, themed dinner buffets every night.
Cons: The staff were extremely rude ! Only Ms. Brenda (the manager) and the reception staff were nice, the Aqua gym trainer and the entertainment manager were very polite and amazing, but the rest... absolutely a nightmare ! Housekeeping staff very rude, pool waiters extremely rude and the Tamarin restaurant staff were the worst ! Waiting for strawberry jam to be replenished at breakfast for 51mins, the next day waiting for passion fruit to be replenished for 45mins and then I was told it was finished. Nobody EVER apologizes at the restaurant, the waiters were making faces if you were asking for something, they were removing the plates with food from the table without even asking if you were finished or not. Extremely unpleasant experience ! Their staff needs to have a serious training when it comes to hospitality and being nice to their customers. If you don’t speak French (like in our case), they treat you very badly and gossip in French about you (we did understand French, but we couldn’t talk), so we understood how nasty they talked about us (and I’m sure we were not the only ones). I wouldn’t recommend the place, honestly, unless you go and eat outside.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful rooms and location
Cons: The restaurant buffet was not very generous . Poor choice of meat and fish and not enough staff working on the cooking stations so you had a long wait for food. Tiny choice of fresh salad and the desserts were very limited and not good quality for the standard of the hotel . The Hotel pool was beautiful but sadly the water was not as clean as it should be .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All at the resort was great and the staff is wonderful
Cons: Far away from everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing friendly, willing to assist, wonderful
Cons: As a vegetarian who doesn’t eat seafood the food options were limited. Most of the salads contained shellfish or meat. Grilled fish was always available but only ever one option of protein.

7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is superbly positioned and fabulously clean. The rooms are a great size and the beds are very comfortable. The pool needs a bit of resurfacing but it is crystal clean and in a wonderful spot to provide endless views of the horizon.
Cons: The restaurant is very pricey and the food and drink quality is substandard. Incuded breakfast for half board is fine but not sensational. Although the view is very hard to beat. Staff are smiling and friendly but do not respond to requests or notifications of room problems even after several attempts. The bar fridge in the room struggles to achieve a small level of coolness.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was nice (almost all of them), the beach is private and in 1m walk on the beach you can reach flic-en-flac. you can do snorkeling everywhere and there are a lot of fishes. We have even seen mantas near the beach! The resort have a lot of trees, and beautiful birds are there during the day (and harmless cute bats and geckos during the night). The food was really good and a lot of choice.
Cons: The services offered are not exactly as listed in booking. there's no free shuttle from/to the airport, that will cost you around ~50€ per way in a taxi. Most of the services are offered by nearby town facilities, not by the hotel. The spa is really expensive, but you can find cheaper ones in the nearby town.
7.0 Good
Cons: Service was not to expected standard. Too many trainees who lacked experience worked there. They should have been guided by more experienced staff. The service at the bar was too slow. I had to wait ten minutes to get a drink though there were not many people at the bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great resort with friendly staff, great amenities and views. Those 2 infinity-pools were awsome and the resort was full of greenery, it feels very peaceful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel in general is very beautiful in lovely settings
Cons: On arrival we were greeted with a refreshing drink And the porter took care of our suitcases. The porter was a great guy helped us no end throughout our stay. Cleaners of the room’s excellent. I believe that the waiting on staff need training to Be pleasant to guests. There seems to be plenty of waiting on staff at the hotel but soon as ever you require anything it seems that your totally ignored. My wife and I seemed to spend most of our holiday chasing staff for service Not good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Food was good especially combination of European and Indian cuisine give a lot of choice at all times. Staff were very helpful always and polite. The infinity pool was a great attraction for the kids. The indoor games room was also a good time pass when at leisure. Free water activities like glass bottom sea ride and kayaking are good fillers, if one is with kids.
Cons: The room cleaning services need improvement. We find some places the same stain as we left it a day before. No complementary drinking water bottles provided in the room, whereas bottled water is damn cheap in whole of Mauritius. The hotel provides very limited option of fruits and surprisingly local fruits like mango and litchis were not at all served during our four day stay. Whereas mango is abundantly available in whole of Mauritius, including in the resort trees itself. There is a kid club, but it is very outdated with no proper equipments.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was absolutely stunning.
Cons: I absolutely loved everything about it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was good. The man made rock walled swimming area in the ocean was fun and safe to explore with lots of fish and even a small moray eel. Staff were good at arranging outings.
Cons: Service at meals was mostly good but I found myself chasing coffee in the mornings. But it was very good once I got it. Eventually I learned to seat myself strategically so that I got lots of server traffic past me. No service at all pool or ocean side and the burger bar near the furthest rooms had very limited hours. Found it easier to just stock up in town and self serve when lounging near the rooms.

7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was worth it. Hats off to housekeeping as my room was tidy clean everyday.
Cons: Poor restaurant service. Food was not that great. For example i was served overcooked garlic prawns saturday night. Sorry for judging as i am a restaurant supervisor myself.
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good. The service was impeccable. The waiters were very nice and friendly. The scrambled was OK, the sausages was excellent.
Cons: There was bird refuse on our balcony when we checked in. That was the only bad thing for us because we expect it to be cleaned before we checkin.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The breakfast was horrible....and tasteless
Cons: There is no tea and coffee in the rooms, yet there is tea cups...there's no water yet there's glasses. You are not allowed to buy drinks from the bar and take it up to the room....ridiculous set up........so we ended up buying cokes at the local store outside and taking it up to the room...yet there is a fridge in the room....
6.0 Good
Pros: Hot chocolate
Cons: Breakfast extremely basic. Charges not justified
7.9 Good

7.0 Good
Pros: Cleanliness of fascilities and courteous staff.
Cons: There wasn't a wide variety of foods in the buffet (especially with allergy to seafood), in comparison to other nearby hotels. The entertainment especially in the evening could have included Sega to give a traditional cultural experience.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Dinners were very good.
Cons: Beach in front of hotel wasn´t upkeep.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed comfy
Cons: Poor network/WiFi connection in my room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view, the size of the room, the bed-it was really comfortable, cleanliness. The breakfast is plenty and have all the things that usually a hotel have. The staff was really nice and we always find free sunbeds for us at the pool and the beach too. Every day we get a free bottle of water in our room. The beautiful long beach before and after the hotels beach! We could have a minimum 20-30 min walk on the white sanded beach in both ways.
Cons: Nothing, it was a great stay for us, thank you!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The peacful and pleasant atmosphere
Cons: Was expecting a better quality of food for the open buffet
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location is great. Supermarket nearby, and great restaurants. Zubs express was a great option, halal, great food & service, and really reasonably priced.
Cons: Service was a little slow, especially the assistance provided during the cyclone. I spoke to reception numerous times about extending my stay due to the cyclone, but they only got back to us at the last minute. Also, the breakfast was terrible, we skipped it most days. Staff do not replenish as food finishes.

Pros: Amazing breakfast. Over expected. Thank you.
Cons: Could not enjoy the service of the free shuttle. The interval time to get the free shuttle is too lengthy.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The male manager was warm and welcoming.
Cons: Location. Hotel was dirty and breakfast was very poor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The tranquility of the hotel was greatly appreciated, the room was cozy. They did vary the breakfast not keeping it monotone, I did like that. The location is ok, but preferably you should rent a car. However they do go extra mile to provide a shuttle free of charge to assist with transportation on a schedule to areas within the vicinity. The staffs were very welcoming, I interacted mainly with Gemma and Étiennette, they were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nothing bad, just that the bathroom sliding door can get tricky at times. I don’t know why the pool with sea water irritated my eyes, nothing requiring of medical attention.
7.0 Good
Pros: Initial greeting was great, two pools was nice, room creole style and clean. Overall good room.
Cons: Too far from anything. Sauna was useless. One of staff a bit off at times, which felt uncomfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The property generally speaking is well maintained and I enjoyed the tranquility. I would recommend it to any friend. The staffs are very helpful, in regards to the room it’s cozy enough, water isn’t an issue, Internet is faster than other hotels. Little things like bike, beach towels are all available. Rooms are thoroughly cleaned daily. The breakfast is interesting enough.
Cons: I wouldn’t say I didn’t like, but maybe verify the shower sliding door. It can be tricky at times. The pool with salt water did irritate my eyes a little bit . Good for swimming but not diving.
6.0 Good
Pros: The Staff was kind.
Cons: The bed was small for two persons.

Pros: The location on the beach is fantastic. The staff is very helpful and friendly, ready to accommodate requests.
Cons: The room was way too small for $257. Additionally, you only get Internet access for one device at a time. For the amount of money, I expected way more than that
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was clean and the beach excellent
Cons: The food choice was very limited. And the staff laid back
