Pestana Village

Fantastic staff, all were brilliant and could not do enough to make sure the holiday was going well. The location was a little further from the city centre than we thought, but facilities in the area still very good, with excellent restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The hotel facilities were very good, with everything we needed

The only complaint we would have is that the indoor pool was a little small - very minor point

Nice atmosphere. Doesn't feel crowded, plenty of space round the pool with shade. Lovely breakfasts. Friendly staff. Clean. Everything works. Good location on bus route.

The staff was very kind and beat up my expectations. They were so thoughtful!! I received a cake for my birthday and all the staff congratulated me when I stated my room number. The room was absolutely amazing. Lovely view with a jacuzzi on the balcony. Cannot wait to stay there again!!

There are no sandy beaches on Madeira, so a hotel concentrating on colourful tropical plants and swimming pools is a great choice. My room also gave me a good view of the sea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great buffet breakfast. Although not to my taste, evening entertainment is provided in the restaurant/bar area. I walked into Funchal and home again each day, but there are many buses passing by and the airport shuttle also stops nearby. Of course, taxis are available. Excursion buses pop in to collect you and Prestana run offers for discounts on trips and further stays.

I had a dodgy fridge in my room and should have mentioned it earlier to the staff who, I'm sure, would have sorted it out promptly. Partly my fault, then. There was a very frequent smoker somewhere below my balcony, meaning that whenever I felt like sitting out there, watching the sea & taking in the sun, I'd have to retreat from the stink. I don't know whether Prestana has a policy of smoking zones within the hotel or not but they should have. It spoilt one aspect of my stay.
