10.0 Excellent
Pros: My partner and I visited Ghent for a conference and stayed at Villa Emma for 3 nights. It was the best place ever. The couple owning the B&B was super friendly and the villa was magical. We had an awesome breakfast every morning (with freshly baked (still warm) bread!) and in the evening after a long conference day it felt like coming home. On our day of departure, the owner even dropped us off at the train station. A truly unique experience!
Cons: Everything was perfect.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the peaceful setting and privacy of each room. Nicely appointed. Although not in the heart of Ghent, Marcel de Gand is very accessible to the city by car or public transportation (bus stop is just a block or two away). 10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and this is the best I have ever stayed in. My partner has also stayed in many hotels around the world and also agrees that this is the best. It is an amazing building filled with the most amazing antiques and objects. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Cons: Nothing could have been better!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The design was beautiful and it was so quiet which allowed a fantastic sleep. The rooms were spacious and very clean.
Cons: The room in my opinion would have been improved had it had a shower enclosure instead of just the bath. this was not so important, but what really affected my final day was that there is no luggage storage. We understand there are some storage facilities around Ghent, but this involved an hr or so messing around of the 4 hrs we had left.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous property beautifully decorated with antiques, warm welcome and hospitality. Extremely comfortable room and lovely breakfast served in splendid salon. Garage for the car very useful as no hassle finding a car parking space. Great central location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, fantastic hosts and lovely room!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed the introduction of the house from our host on check in, taking us around and giving us some history about the house, he was really friendly. It was a pleasure. The room was brilliantly clean, comfortable bed, great bath. Mini bar selection was brilliant, although we didn't use much there was huge variety of alcohol available. Fantastic four poster bed with curtains, very cosy and warm. Thank you for having us!!
Cons: The breakfast was very small for the cost. It included croissants and one egg and was €20 minus any additionals like ham and cheese? Which were an extra 6 EURO each!. Regardless of the surroundings, a more substantial, filling breakfast would be fair. We thought we would pay the price for the experience of eating in the dining room as you would expect you would for breakfast but unfortunately another couple were occupying the space. A little information about that would of been welcomed. On check out received a €30 bill for less than 24 hours of parking. Again, very expensive, more information would have been appreciated.

7.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were very comfortable but interior was a bit dated.
Cons: The (very spacious) rooms we stayed in weren’t as modern as the hotel photo’s. The shower was difficult to get to in a triangle bubble bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist offered me the choice between two rooms on my arrival. I was able to check out both rooms before making a decision, which I appreciated very much. The hotel was very quiet and located in the heart of Ghent. The room I would definitely go back.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located on a quiet canal-side street close to the centre with all the main sites within easy walking distance. There is no restaurant in the hotel but plenty to choose from nearby. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has its own car parking facility which, although a tad on the expensive side, is well worth the extra outlay in this car-free city. Our room was spacious with modern furnishings and was well-equipped (USB ports built in so that you don't need to worry about taking a phone charger with you for example) - we also made full use of the very good coffee machine in the room! The bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and also very well equipped. We slept soundly despite the occasional muted rumble from the airco in the background and enjoyed our stay very much. This is certainly one of the best and nicest hotels we have visited recently.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about our stay was perfect, from the friendly and helpful staff to the wonderful room. Nice local beer in the bar too :) we will most certainly be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hotel Harmony. 10/10

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely accommodation. Great hosts. Beautiful breakfast
Cons: A bit too close to the train line as we could hear goods trains all night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love everything about this place! We received a very warm welcome. The modern rooms are beautifully decorated. You can find beers, wines (at convenient prices) and tea/coffee in the room. The location is perfect, right next to the station. However, as the rooms are very well isolated, we could hardly hear the trains passing. The breakfast room has a beautiful Victorian style. It is a varied breakfast with fresh and quality products. Highly recommended!
Cons: I loved everything! I wish we could have stayed longer!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was small, but comfy, with a large bed. The hosts were very accomodating and friendly. Payment was done at checkout. The hotel was very close to the St. Pieters Station and the city was just a 10 minute tram ride away. We stayed during the Gentser Feesten, a very busy time for Gent with lots of visitors, but still payed a reasonable price for the location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming, quaint, intimate B&B with only 4 rooms, making it feel like you're staying at someone's beautiful home. Incredibly friendly and helpful host who provided great dinner recommendations, both right around the corner and in the city centre. The breakfast was served in a cozy little candlelit dining room complete with vintage tea cups and was delicious, including freshly made eggs to order. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner very welcoming and warm. Nice rooms and facilities. If you want breakfast best to order in advance as that is to be planned and cannot decide at last minute
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fabulous, as were the hosts and the facilities. A great location for catching the train.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very pretty B&B, clean and tidy with a pleasant and helpful host. The air conditioning was very welcome when the temperature hit over 30C!

Cons: Just be aware of the stairs as they are quite steep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything... close to the centre of old town, easy to walk around, a lot to see. If you want to rest the room was awesome, they also have a sitting area, relaxation place it is cute. I didn’t use but you can go on computers. I would have plan to stay longer knowing what I know now! It is a small place only 4 rooms. It was a great stay.
Cons: Just be careful In the stairs (small and turning), it’s also part of the charm!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were greeted by Jerome (sorry can't spell the Flemish version) who gave such brilliant suggestions! We really loved just getting lost in the streets and finding undiscovered pleasures. Dinner recommendations were excellent!!
Cons: Not a fault at all as it is all down to design; the staircase to the rooms are a bit precarious.

Cons: The steps to the room. Difficult to reach with luggage.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent and plenty of space in the room.
Cons: No street view, just sky. Very steep windy stairs to climb up, might be a problem for less well able visitors, not made plain in the description.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location in the middle of the city centre of Ghent. We stayed in the suite (the small appartment in the garden). It was very cosy with the fireplace in the sitting area and the jacuzzi. The room is very clean and the service is very nice. They offered us to stay until the afternoon during our check-out day without extra charges since the room wasnt booked for the next day! I would recommend this place for everyone! :)

6.0 Good
Pros: In the city centre, really comfortable!
Cons: There was plenty of dust under the bed!!!!!!! The bathrooms were only at the second floor,no bathrooms at first floor... You have to make and unmake the bed on your own
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Rumbling traffic noises at night make it hard to fall asleep, but not really a big deal
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the region, I like the beds, I like the furniture in the ground level.
Cons: You have to ask a room with fewer beds, because if you stay in a room with so many beds, you will likely be woken up by a group of friends travelling together coming in the room drunk and making so much noise.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the location, the attention and the installation is fabulous!
Cons: Stairs are too reduce
9.2 Excellent
Pros: the location is perfect and nearby to all landmarks and must-sees in Ghent! :) it's also convenient to trams and buses. food places are within 5mins walk away.

B&b De Waterzooi - Ghent - Bedroom
1
9.8 Excellent (124 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at B&B De Waterzooi in Ghent (Ghent City Centre), you'll be steps from Gravensteen Castle and 4 minutes by foot from St. Nicholas' Church. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had the Felix suite which was fantastic. Wonderful detail, like lavender bath salts and tampons in bathroom. Lovely blend between modern and old. Location is spectacular, bed is amazing. Breakfast was intimate and personal, like having with family. Will definitely return
Cons: Car was parked 10 minutes away - having said that - for Gent parking in always a challenge, so having any option was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Beautifully decorated. Wonderful and very helpful hosts. Highly recommend!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A perfect experience overlooking the castle. Living area and bedroom, built in music system, and a wonderful breakfast.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building itself is of great interest, both historically and in terms of the architecture in developing the B&B facilities. It has a great location. The facilities were comfortable and spacious. The hosts were most welcoming and the breakfast was a feast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: B&B Waterzooi was fantastic! If you are going to travel to Ghent, it would be difficult to find a better place to stay. The owners are very good hosts. They are knowledgeable and friendly people. They can help you on your journey through Ghent. You are within walking distance to everything, in medieval Ghent. You are within walking distance to most anything else you would like to see just outside of that. They offer a reasonably priced breakfast that is as good as any hotel. They can also help you with parking if you need it, for reasonable rates. The B&B has an elevator if you need it. You have private and secure entry, to the building. There is wifi, but I never used it. I was out seeing Ghent. They share a courtyard with the Ghent Tourist Office, where you can get your Ghent CityCard, good for free or reduced admission to most attractions, and it comes with free mass transit included. The Ghent CityCard also includes a free river boat tour, of your choosing. The two hour Ghent Walking Tour, the Tourist Office offered was about eight euro. There is an excellent steak house that shares the entryway area of B&B Waterzooi. The owners will tell you about it, and guests get some discounts. I stumbled into the B&B Waterzooi. I live and work in Belgium, at this time. I randomly decided to visit without much planning. They just happened to have an opening, as they are usually booked a few months in advance. Now I am spoiled. It would be difficult to stay anywhere else, in Ghent. Of course next time I will stay longer than two days. Thank you B&B Waterzooi!
Cons: There is nothing about the property itself that can be complained about. Don’t drive to B&B Waterzooi. Starting in January 2020 Ghent will enact a smog law that will limit older vehicles. Portions of Ghent’s center are already reserved for pedestrians. Come to Ghent by train. Drive to Ghent, and find paid parking outside the ring road. Then take a taxi. Don’t come to Ghent for a day or two expecting to see everything. Make your stay at B&B Waterzooi for at least three days plus travel days. That is my advice to you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and lovely B&B in the historical building right in front of the castle. It is very convenient to reach by public transport (tram stop is right in front of the building), but most probably you will need to use public transport only to get to the train station, because all main Ghent landmarks and places of interest are in walking distance, the same with the restaurants and bars. Our room was at the top floor, with both elevator and stairs leading to it. It was perfect, with living room, separate toilet and bathroom and bedroom with the balcony at the first level and masters bedroom at the second level. There are quite steep stairs leading to masters bedroom, so please keep it in mind while travelling with children or elder people. Room is equipped with air condition, refrigerator, electric kettle, hairdryer and you may take an iron with ironing board. Hosts are awesome, they are very open and welcoming and Kay has incredible sense of humor.
Cons: It may be a little bit too hot at the second level (masters bedroom) when the weather is hot, as air-conditioning may not get there, but there is fan, which can also be used.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family who looked after us, made us feel special. And it was very nice to talk to the other guests over the best breakfast in Ghent. It wAs a very special stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kay & Christian are wonderful hosts & so welcoming. The premises are beautiful, very calming & comfortable. Amazing breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, beautiful apartment in a lovely heritage building, friendly attentive hosts who know how to look after their guests, amazing breakfast, a great location in the heart of Ghent. If you're thinking of opening a B&B visit Kay and Christian to see how to do it.
Cons: Nothing !

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious. The Host is an amazingly hospitable person and great conversation. Room was huge and beautiful. I was a bit surprised that the location was the suburbs, but the bus connection was ok. It will be my first pick if I need to travel to this region again. I'd, however, recommend it more to people with cars.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow what can I say - the most amazing facilities and hosting - a hidden gem. The only thing I would say is that it's too cheap for what it is. From beginning to end, Anne was amazing. The suite was relaxing, super clean and had little finishing touches like mini perfume bottles, manicure kit, chocolates etc. The towels were thick and fluffy and there were slippers and bath robes. The breakfast was well laid out and Anne was very attentive. I WOULD VERY MUCH RECOMMEND YOU STAY HERE!!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were in a spacious room (Delphine) which was beautifully furnished with a lovely big bathroom as well. It was at the front of the house but the street was quiet so there was no problem with noise. Breakfast was excellent and there was a good choice. It is close to a bus route into the central part of Gent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christine was a wonderful host. The breakfast was amazing.
Cons: If you are a little squeamish you might find it odd having the bathroom separated from the kitchenette only by a curtain. But we were fine with it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner went out of her way to make sure my little 11 month old girl & I were comfortable & happy. Brilliant place!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place in a carefully renovated house from the 30ies (the owner lives in the attached neighboring house). Very high quality equipment; extremely clean and carefully kept house and room. Excellent breakfast and friendly host.
Cons: There was a problem with the fire-escape emergency lamp in our room (room "Fanny"), which went on and off during the whole night. The host thanked us for mentioning it and told us she would have someone solve it ASAP. The sound insulation between the rooms was not very good (the house is old and the -beautiful- old wooden floor were kept).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: My one night stay was very pleasant and I enjoyed hearing about the history of the house from Christine, the proud owner of the property. I decided on breakfast, which was indeed excellent with plenty of choice.
Cons: The only point of contention was the owner's policy to levy a supplement for my double room for single occupancy. I discussed this with her before I left but she maintained her justification and necessity to do so.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very comfortable. Like a small apartment and kitchen facilities also available.
Cons: We loved staying here. It was so comfortable and our room was like an apartment. There are also kitchen facilities and a garden to sit in. Breakfast was delicious - such a good variety and excellent value. It was also impeccably clean. The location was excellent too - not too far from the Railway Station and in a very peaceful lovely area with parks close by. There are regular trams into the city. Nice restaurants very close to the B& B. The history of the house and family are also fascinating too A very relaxing, enjoyable stay - thank you.

Pros: Location perfect to visit Ghent and to be outside of the city with one way streets. Quiet location. Excellent breakfast with a big selection of food. Very nice, accommodating and flexible hosts! Big room, separate bathroom ... almost a small apartment
Cons: There is nothing that can be improved
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building and garden. Excellent breakfast. Far enough out of the old town/central business district to be super quiet. Close enough to cheap and convenient public transport.

1898 The Post is in the heart of Ghent, within a 5-minute walk of Korenmarkt Square and Gravensteen Castle. Featured amenities include express check-out, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the middle of it all and a short walk to everything. Beautiful property which hosts probably the most upscale bar in all of Ghent. I highly recommend this property for location, comfort, and overall ease of seeing Ghent by foot. Beautiful rooms, in room amenities, and attention to detail throughout the hotel decor.
Cons: Nothing, only caveat is the parking situation which is no fault of the hotel since Ghent is a low emission zone. For any travelers looking to drive into Ghent you must register your car online before arriving and then park in a public garage about 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel at around 20 euro per day. Not a big deal, just a heads up for any fellow drivers who aren’t familiar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed - lovely double height room with shower upstairs but conveniently loo next to bed! Excellent location in historic building with great views from room and corridor windows - quite a gothic experience like no other!
Cons: I booked 3 nights but 2 nights at first and added another, within an hour, 3 moths in advance. It was not co-ordinated properly, even though I reiterated the bookings at check-in and was reassured it was OK. I assumed they’d get it. But no, they checked me out, moved my stuff to a less attractive room. Was not offered an upgrade although there was one available - offered to guests in the my first room, if I wanted it back. That hurt!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff. Nice bedroom. Lovely bar with view over the canal. Good breakfast. Excellent location and easy to get to from Eurostar by tram.
Cons: The bathroom was a wet room for disabled guests and the loo was inside the shower. So not ideal but the actual bedroom was very nice. Quite pricey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very cosy and like a home from home...with lovely big windows not only in the bedrooms...the staff couldn’t do enough for us....the bar was well manged with again nothing was to much trouble from the staff.....with great thought given to any one who arrived and waited for a seat as we spent at least twice a day in the bar.
Cons: Only thing we hadn’t realise in the Duplex Room that the toilet was down stairs we also thought there should have been hand basin in with the toilet...we felt that the shower should have been down stairs as the dressing room was there...it did take us a day or two to make sure we had the right things we needed on the right floor...we won’t stay in Duplex Room again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Las camas son muy comodas, y la habitacion muy linda.
Cons: Todo espectacular!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the building and the bar, breakfast was nice and the place was spotless. The stuff were super friendly and room was comfortable. The location was super.
Cons: Had to climb a staircase to get to the shower and sink.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Absolutely wonderful hotel - bit of a splash out in terms of price but well worth it - would go back in a heartbeat
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent experience at this hotel. Very friendly staff who organised some plans for us for my partners' birthday and fantastic afternoon tea with delicious cakes. The hotel itself is very nice with very modern but comforting and tasteful decoration. Lastly the hotel is conveniently located close to everything although in Ghent you're never that far from anything!
Cons: The only slight issue is that it is on a very popular square so there was some noise late at night and early in the morning - but that is not the fault of the hotel!
6.5 Good
Pros: location, interior, friendliness
Cons: airco not working properly tv channels missing even after intervention of very kind staff

10.0 Excellent
Pros: location was fantastic, restaurant exceptional & rooms very spacious & clean Bonus having underground parking
Cons: Having been given room 206 on my arrival I was greeted with the room being set up for refurbishment, so I had to make my way back to the reception with a large suitcase & two other bags. was then given a room facing the back of the hotel & not one at the front of the hotel overlooking the city & waterway, which was very disappointing
5.0 Okay
Pros: Excellent Location. Otherwise an average Marriott.
Cons: From photo I thought it was a converted historic building; it's not. Service uneven; and overall I would rate it low given how expensive this particular Marriott was. I was underwhelmed by this stay. Restaurant nothing special.

Pros: Good bed, great breakfast, well located, very friendly staff. Quiet room.
Cons: No minibar or coffee/thee facilities in the room.
6.0 Good
Pros: Nothing in particular
Cons: Layout of the bathroom! WC is against the wall, this is ridiculous, no room for legs. No robeward, no drawers to put your clothes, you must keep all your stuff in your luggage Bed: what the Hotel calls a "double bed" is just a regular Queen or King size bed, it is not a twin Queen size bed Side view: we pay the same price, but we cannot enjoy the view
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bedroom comfortable, bathroom clean, shower good, breakfast good, location great
Cons: No coat hooks
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Comfortable bed.
Cons: There should be a water for each person and there should be a slippers in the room. Housekeeping suddenly enter the room 8 a.m in the morning just saying Hi. But normally they have to knock the door first.
