Pros: Everything. The hosts here were absolutely wonderful. They picked us up from airport for no extra charge, were very accommodating to our odd travel times, and they even left personal bathrobes, house slippers, and pool shoes for us to use. The heated pool was AMAZING and we wish we could have spent more time here. I cannot recommend the breakfast option with your stay enough. Not only is it very worth it, but the hosts' cooking abilities were fantastic. Yuki makes fresh bread, and Andi's espresso skills are on-point. Best experience we had in all of Iceland, and we did A LOT of stuff, so I feel like that's saying quite a bit.
Cons: Nothing. We couldn't recommend this guesthouse enough. Absolutely a highlight of our 9 days in Iceland.

Pros: This guesthouse is a couple of minutes from the airport. The owners are friendly, helpful, and accessible. The house has three separate bedrooms with a shared hallway bath. The room we were in is a spacious one bedroom with a private bath. It has a full kitchen and a stocked for breakfast. It is in a quiet neighborhood, but within one block of all of the small-town offerings. The guesthouse is under 45 minutes from Reykjavic and about 20 minutes from the blue Lagoon.
Cons: It is all good

Pros: Great location for getting to the airport. The gentleman running it was very nice. Had a spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. Didn't get a chance to experience the breakfast, unfortunately.
Cons: It was all very good. Typical of all Europe, the only bed covering was a duvet, which was too warm for me traveling in the summer, but that's to be expected.
Pros: I liked the large shower and good internet.
Pros: super clean, super comfortable. Breakfast was simple but delicious, and the host and hostess were both helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
Cons: googlemaps got us on to the right street but told us to turn onto it in the wrong direction. We eventually tracked it down

Pros: The space was perfect for our last night in Iceland. We hit some bumps in the road with previous lodging on our trip, which is to be expected; however, it was quite relieving to walk into Bergas Guesthouse and be greeted with a friendly face and such attention to detail. The check-in process was the smoothest we experienced, our room was prepared and ready for us to walk in and fall into very comfortable beds to rest. We booked here because it was a short drive to the Blue Lagoon and minutes from the airport and we would be visiting both in the following 24 hour period. Perfect location, great price, lovely owners. Wish we could have stayed a little longer to explore the surrounding area and waterfront. I will definitely keep Bergas Guesthouse in mind for future trips.
Pros: The owners are very personable and make for a magical experience. The hotel room was delightfully comfortable. We lived it here and will return.
Pros: The hotel hosts were wonderful people, warm and welcoming. They made a great dinner suggestion for us and even phoned in the reservation, which was so nice after our long travel day. The beds were comfy and rooms very clean. We couldn't have been happier.
A great choice for a stay in Keflavik, Bergas Guesthouse is just 2.9 mi (4.6 km) from the airport. Guests looking for a bite to eat can check out the coffee shop/café, and the bar/lounge is the perfect spot to grab a drink at the end of the day. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with living rooms and premium bedding.
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful, they made the most wonderful continental breakfast. View overlooked the water, it was beautiful.
Pros: This hotel really lets you see what hospitality and comfort should be like. Our flight left at 6:40am and the hotel provides a complimentary 'pre' breakfast at 4am for early travelers. There was breads, small meats, cereal, yogurt, fruit, assorted cream cheese spreads, coffee/tea, juices. Regular breakfast starts at 8am. Just this alone was enough to win me over. Add to that the rooms were very clean, the showers had great pressure and the beds were super comfy. The only issue I had was that they give us two twin comforters instead of one big one... Yup, that was it. Behind the hotel is the sea.

Cons: I was charged $93 as a single traveler. I had made the reservation thinking the price corresponded to the comfort level. It did not. This is a glorified hostel on the outskirts of town. It is in an old industrial type building away from the center of town. Very noisy with smelly bathrooms. Only 3 bathrooms for quite a lot of rooms...
When I brought up booking.com for the date that I was there the price came up for $63. I brought this to the attention of the owner. I was being charged the price for a family room. He said that it was too bad, I had booked at that price. He was quite unfriendly and defensive about the situation.
I was overcharged and told 'too bad', it was my fault for booking it at that rate.
I travel through Iceland twice a year and have stayed in many guesthouses in Keflevic. I have had very good experiences with all except this one.
Pros: Wonderful, clean, spacious, unique
Located just 3.3 mi (5.3 km) from the airport, Kef Guesthouse offers a free shuttle (available on request). Free perks include WiFi, self parking, and buffet breakfast daily between 7 AM and 9 AM. Other highlights include a snack bar/deli, a terrace, and a garden.
Pros: The Start hostel was clean, comfortable, rooms were generous and beds very comfortable. The breakfast was varied and delicious, and they start it at 4:30 to accommodate early flights. I booked this last minute to accommodate a 10 hour layover, and it was a great choice. The staff checked me in late (just after midnight) arranged my cab and provided a yummy breakfast. I would consider staying here if I did a layover in Iceland in the future.
Cons: It was a little further out than I liked - cabs cost almost as much as the hostel bed. But Iceland is expensive and this is minor. It is also expensive for a hostel bed. But it was toward the low end of the options, so this may just be a complaint that Iceland is expensive.
Pros: Lovely people who ran the hotel - they made us very comfortable and were very helpful with information.
Pros: Beds were comfortable, room and bathroom were clean. Free tea/coffee 24/7 was a big perk. Very close to airport, stable wi-fi and free parking.
Cons: It was difficult to find, my GPS didn't register the hostel address as a real place so I had to use a map to find it.
Pros: The facility was well kept and clean.
Cons: The breakfast selection.
Pros: It was clean, big, super friendly and helpful at 12 am, and really close to the airport. Perfect for late flights!

airport shuttle in the morning

Nupan Deluxe is just 2.8 mi (4.5 km) from the airport and offers free drop-off service at scheduled times. Freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks, and guests can keep active with onsite kayaking.
Pros: Location was great to get to the airport and downtown. But, we had a car.
Cons: Not a big deal.. but, bathroom shower door doesn't stop water and when you shower the entire bathroom floor gets wet. Didn't get a chance to tell the duty manager.
Pros: Excellent facilities inside room, super comfortable beds. Great location close to Keflavik airport.

Each room is fitted with a shared bathroom. There is a shared kitchen at the property. The nearest airport is Keflavik Airport, 2.5 miles from Home sweet b&b keflavik airport.
Pros: Proximity to airport, shuttle service, and breakfast with extended hours
Cons: Lack of choice of nearby restaurants
Pros: Very close and convenient to KEF, with a free shuttle that picked me up when I called and dropped off at convenient time for departure. Price was good. Room was huge, bed was quite comfortable. Reviews I read spoke of noise, but I heard not a sound.
Cons: Drain in sink did not drain at all despite not having stopper in it.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and well-appointed. I woke up late for my flight and the person working the desk got someone to cover for a minute and immediately drove me to the airport himself.
Cons: I asked how to get to a museum in Njardvik and they didn't have a map of the area available, nor any maps of Asbru. The person at reception printed a Google map for me. The museum had a very nice map and accompanying guidebook, so I don't really know why the hotel didn't.
Pros: Right by the airport with the convenient shuttle to pick you up and drop you off. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was nice and big and very clean. Beds comfortable with nice big comforters. The best was the breakfast, lots of choice (I loved the thin pancakes) and fresh fruit. They even had computers to use in the lounge area and room to play cards or games.
Cons: Can't think of anything!

Great for overnight stay or longer when traveling through KEF. Motel is about 1 mile away. Rental cars are available at the airport. Golden Circle tour can be done easily in one day from KEF with rental car.
Pros: Motel is simple looking on the outside but beautiful inside. The owner actually built the place. Breakfast was European with complete kitchen and cold foods to eat at your convenience. Motel will shuttle you to and from the airport.

Restaurants, cafe and shopping are within walking distance. There is a bus stop around the corner with connection to Reykjavik city centre.
Pros: Rooms were comfortable. Hotel has a unique design. It seems to cover luxury designs through a couple decades. Hotel staff were polite. Breakfast was eclectic but satisfying.
Cons: Water had a strong sulphur odor.
Pros: Early breakfast buffet for those catching early flight out at the airport
Pros: Great location being very close to airport. Very good breakfast. Modern design and luxury settings.
Cons: Tiny bathrooms even in the deluxe suite, lack of hangers for clothes/towels.
Pros: Good breakfast and a nice restaurant
Cons: Poor timing. City shut off the water supply for construction. Out of the hotels control however
Pros: Ambiance cleanliness and breakfast
Cons: Room small for 3 people
Shower not hot enough for me
Pros: Location to the airport was good. Dining was good but expensive.
Cons: Room had a queen and a single bed stuffed into one sleeping area which made the room hard to get into. The window shades would not open. Overall hotel seemed to be undergoing repairs inside and out. Not a good value for the money.
Pros: Clean rooms, great breakfast and very friendly staff. Free taxi rides to and from airport. Great hotel overall.
Cons: Rooms a bit old fashioned and the restaurant quite expensive.
Hotel Keflavik is a first class hotel in the heart of Keflavik. Next to the international airport, providing free transportation to KEF airport. We are also situated shortly away from the Blue Lagoon. Hotel Keflavik is renowned for it's breakfast and restaurant. Hotel Keflavik offers it's guests a 7000 sqft fitness center with a solarium and sauna.
Pros: Location: 5 to 10 minute walk from Keflavik airport. Excellent Staff: I flew overnight and didn't account for the date change. Staff was very accommodating, changing my dates and even letting me check in early. Before we realized the error, they were happy to hold my luggage. Food: The breakfast buffet was just ok, but I enjoyed the chicken stir-fry at dinner.
A seamless experience to land in the morning, store luggage, go touring for a day, then check an early flight out the next day.
Cons: Getting there: there is no side walk, so you must take a detour around the parking lot or walk more directly on the grass.
This was more my/ reykjavik excursions fault: I asked the ticket woman from flybuss about the bus into the city, and she said every 10 minutes, I ended up taking my time at the hotel and missed the flybus. The next one would go 2 hrs later, missing my tour. I had to take a taxi. If you do drop things at the hotel, you should go back to the airport quickly as the last bus to the city tends to leave within 40 minutes of landing.
Pros: I showed up at midnight with my infant daughter. They helped take my bags to my room. They offered up a cot for her and immediately made it up with a nice clean sheet and baby duvet. There was a highchair in the dining area for her as well.
Cons: If I could have taken the pushchair from the airport to the hotel that would have been super helpful. I didn't ask though. Maybe you can?
Pros: This is a nice hotel located 2 minutes from the airport. It is very convenient when taking a late or early flight. Beds were comfortable and place was very clean. Front desk staff was very kind and accommodating. There was an elevator for heavy suitcases (yes!), first hotel to have it since arriving in Iceland and staying in 7 different hotels. I was very happy with this hotel.
Cons: Only thing missing was tea/coffee and kettle in room, this would have been a nice touch.
Pros: Good value for the amount I paid. Location was within walking distance of the airport and rental car return.
Cons: No complaints.
Pros: The hotel was close to the airport terminal which was great at 3AM.
I will stay at this hotel again.
Cons: I called GetA Room 3 times before I received an answer to my question. The answer came two days after my hotel stay, TOO LATE!!!
I will never use this service again.
Pros: Clean room, clean hotel, good breakfast, great staff
Cons: Bed was poor for US standards, but ok for Europe standards. Lacking extra pillows, comforters.
Pros: I stayed overnight on a connection, which was not my planned route so I was in a terrible mood about the whole thing. However, I was very pleasantly surprised.
I loved that it was right by the Keflavik terminal (they say five minutes but I walked there with all my bags in two and a half).
I love hard floors in hotel rooms because it just seems so much more hygienic-- you can see how clean (or unclean!) the floors are and my room was immaculate when I arrived.
The bathroom is very basic and the beds (I had two singles in my room) don't look like much but... THE BEDS AND BEDDING ARE PHENOMENAL. I slept so soundly and so comfortably I almost didn't want to leave. The comforters were just the right weight, the pillows were perfect. Seriously. After bed, I packed up and got ready, then crawled back in bed until right before checkout.
The included breakfast goes until ten o'clock and had a lot of variety and was very filling.
Checkout is at noon but they don't seem to mind you hanging out in their lobby for a few hours after.
I didn't have a need for a car, but it's also by all of the car rental places-- I would suggest this hotel if your plan is to see a lot of things outside of Reykjavik while you're staying over (parking was also free I believe).
Cons: The wifi wasn't very cooperative and I had trouble connecting multiple times (they're individual routers rather than an integrated system your device roams on) but it eventually worked and was fast enough.
I would agree with other posters that when you come in on a flight at midnight, it's confusing to figure out where it exactly is in relation to the exit-- a sign in the airport would be nice, but people are friendly enough if you ask.
Pros: This is a great place to stay if you have a quick overnight stop in Iceland before flying out the next day. I loved that it was walking distance from the airport and that breakfast was included.
The room itself was nice and very clean. While it didn't have the amenities of the Hilton Hotel (where we had previously stayed), I personally felt that the room was of the same (wonderful) quality.
Cons: The hotel can be a little confusing to find in the dark and when you are tired - wish there was a sign somewhere in the airport. I also found the price to be a bit high, but you are paying for the convenience (and everything in Iceland tends to be expensive).
Airport Hotel Aurora Star is the most convenient place to start your journey around the natural wonder that we call Iceland. Being one of the most functional hotel you could find on the Reykjanes peninsula. Our hotel is only 100 meters from the Keflavik International Airport (KEF), making it an easy 3-minute walk to and from the airport eliminating all cost and hassle that comes with airport transportation, this combined with the restaurant and bar makes any trip outside the hotel unnecessary. Aurora Star is the only hotel or guesthouse close enough to the airport that you can travel to by foot. The hotel offers 72 rooms, single, double, triple and family rooms. Each room has a private bathroom, a seating area while also being very spacious with much room to make your trip home or journey as comfortable as possible. The rooms also include free Wi-Fi and continental breakfast.
Pros: The staff were brilliant and great with our teenagers !
Cons: Hotel close to airport but slightly isolated from everything els , no restaurant .
Pros: It is close to the airport. I was able to play tourist in the morning before flying out in the afternoon.
Pros: The hotel location to blue lagoon and KEF airport were great.
was clean, friendly staff, breakfast was descent.
Cons: The noise in the hotel carried - and wasn't good for a light sleeper to get a good night sleep.
Pros: Friendly staff, not many other guests.
Hot tub + sauna are nice, especially without other guests around.
Cons: Views from room where average, nothing special.
No hot breakfast (besides toast).
Pros: Breakfast was nice, very close to sadcars
Pros: The hotel cost is very reasonable given the facilities. Room was clean and large enough, bed comfortable, and the room had useful amenities such as desk, comfortable chair, toilet and shower. I took advantage of the sauna and jacuzzi, which were nice but nothing exceptional. They also have fairly nice exercise equipment. However, it really is located in the middle of nowhere with nothing else to do in the immediate facility (except go for a walk, but not what I consider a scenic view). it seemed quite costly to take a taxi between the airport and hotel. Cost of the two taxi rides was about the same as the price of the hotel. Cheaper than staying at Hotel Smari at the KEF airport, but I was surprised by the transportation costs.
Pros: Customer Service was great!
Pros: Everything was so nice, very clean and incredible staff that was very willing to help. They had a nice breakfast spread in the mornings, and kept the place spotless. Definitely recommend!
