6.0 Good
Pros: This is a lovely pub in a good setting. We have stayed five times now.
Cons: The meals were very average. Lots of food but lacked finesse and presentation. Would have liked the menu to be less boring, perhaps some game options. Seemed thrown on plate, the vegetables were overcooked and not seasonable. Vegetable soup was mush-I did not eat. Pudding had been microwaved.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms, views, delicous breakfast choices, chirpy staff generally cosy bar and fire.
Cons: There was only one vegetarian dinner option and none on New Years Day but gratefully they made me a pasta dish which was delicious.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Hotel on the Pennine way. Room was spacious and clean. Sunday lunch was very good also. Very good value in January.
7.9 Good
Pros: Stayed at the hotel on a very wet Thursday in January. The food at the hotel was recommended by people in the village and through reviews on line, it lived up to the good reviews, plus quick and friendly service also. Room 2 was in the original part of the Hall with views over the lawn to the river, it was large and really comfortable, thermostat on the radiator worked well & the windows opened easily for a little fresh air. The super king bed was large and extremely comfortable (best I’ve slept at a hotel), the pillows were soft but firm (if that makes sense). Ensuite was clean and the shower had plenty of hot water. We did use the pool and sauna, pool a bit on the cool side but okay once acclimatised to the temperature. Basic pool changing facilities but it was nice to have a pool to use. All in all, the combination of a really comfortable room and lovely food made the hotel feel really homely, I would stay again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful, very comfortable beds. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Pool area needs a little TLC.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The very friendly welcoming desk staff. The overall look and feel of the whole place. The room was way big enough for just me. And well set out with tea and coffee makeing facilities. Nice bathroom with shower and lots of towels. The pool although not very big was ok to get you working. And the sauna was small but nice and hot. The breakfast was more than enough to start your day with ample coffee.and toast. Parking is wright outside the door so no long trek dragging your cases. The wifi in the room was very quick and free. All in all a very nice hotel would recommend .
Cons: Being a bit of a gym user I would have liked a small gym to work out in before haveing a nice dip in the very good pool. Apart from that nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything
Cons: had a brilliant night can't fault this place lade back friendly staff amazing place all in all deffo be coming back thank you kind regards the Dunn family
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly atmosphere, great for dog owners and lovely food.
Cons: Pool could do with some loungers. My husband didnt want to swim but came with me to chill and read a book. There were only 2 uncomfortable metal chairs .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Bit dated, but not bad at all
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredible, especially a young women called Emily who was extremely helpful and attentive to every request we threw at her. The food was great both across breakfast and dinner! The rooms are great and spacious and never once struggled with the WiFi (which was refreshing for being in such a rural area). Although breakfast started at 8am the staff arranged for us to have our breakfast earlier which was very kind!
Cons: The rooms although large were lacking in some departments, two single beds were pushed together in some of the rooms to form a double which wasn't ideal as you could feel the space between when sleeping. The showers in some of the rooms were also lacking in water pressure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Greta location, food was excellent, staff were helpful throughout, and accommodating of me being with a cycle
Cons: Sauna wasn't actually warm when I went to use it at 6 so had to wait for it to be turned on which was unfortunate. Room was also advertised with h a bath, but only had a shower

Pros: Everything was fine. Local towns very close and worth visiting
Cons: Liked everything. Breakfast good facilities good. Meals and drinks a bit expensive but to be expected.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent.
Cons: Bed was very hard. Might suit some people but not us unfortunately.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good, mini bar in room was nice too...
Cons: Avoid school holidays, couldn't get in the pool!! Windows in bedroom were drafty, let in lots of cold air.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing. Spoilt our 5 year anniversary and valentine's.
Cons: We booked a double room for our anniversary and were presented with a twin room. After complaining we were told we would get a call back but however, we haven't heard anything. The customer service was appalling
7.0 Good
Pros: The rooms were lovely, although I had requested twin beds and they both had a double. Super breakfast and the 3 course menu was delicious. The pool was nice, but a bit cold, and we appreciated that there were certain times during the day where children weren't allowed be there.
Cons: Lovely hotel but disappointed that with the cheaper priced rooms you aren't provided with a robe and slippers. Seems a bit ridiculous when it is a spa hotel. Also, only certain rooms are provided with the Elemis bath products. Ours didn't even have conditioner.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Room was a decent size.. lovely location
Cons: Not very warm friendly welcome Could not step anywhere in the room without a loud creaking floorboard even turning over in bed was so loud Very cold and considering how much the room cost for it to not have a fridge was disgusting Felt made to feel like dining In the hotel wasn't acceptable considering they had a formal attire only rule. Food disgusting pizza wasn't even cooked properly. Over priced by a long shot!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Leisure facilities and breakfast was amazing
6.0 Good
Pros: The area is lovely and quiet, the scenery is amazing, it's set in a lovely place. The staff were nice and accommodating. Room was as expected however could do with a lick of paint.
Cons: Food: We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal, ordered from the A La Carte menu. Steak was ordered as rare, sent back as was massively overcooked. It came back practically raw all over and was inedible. Beef burger was slightly better however was not as advertised (bacon instead of pancetta and oven chips instead of fries). Waiting staff were apologetic and offered us free drinks and money off the bill. Staff: Staff were friendly however it was clear that there was no organisation in the restaurant. We were asked multiple times by 3 different people what our room number was, and they came to take our order twice even though this had already been done. Facilities: Spa was nice and relaxing however could do with updating/refurb. The weather was awful and the roof was leaking in the gym, changing rooms, corridor and in the pool area. Toiletries in room were not replaced when cleaned (empty bottle of shower gel)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Allowed dogs to stay. Very friendly staff.
Cons: A little run down. Understaffed (though exceptionally nice when around). Not much choice of pastry at breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting for the hotel was brilliant for a quiet night away. The room I had was very comfortable and modern. The bar was small but very nice and priced well. All in all a very pleasant stay. The employees were especially friendly and always willing to help and advise where needed.
Cons: The dining area was a little aged and could do with modernising but still pleasant.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We opted for a bar meal which was very impressive. Tasty and plentiful. The room was nice and spacious and the bed comfortable. The bar staff were really pleasant and attentive.
Cons: I understand hotels need time to turn around the rooms but we showed up 30 minutes early and the response was that we can't have the room until 3 and that was it. Perhaps just a little more cooperation and politeness.
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful location on the river. Close to Hexham and the various villages that we wanted to visit
Cons: Slightly in need of a facelift and corridors and doors all creaky which makes it difficult to be quiet for other guests
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location room size
Cons: Room was very cold and kept tripping over step into room. Very low ceiling in bathroom.
