Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing! The bed was super comfortable and our room was absolutely spotless.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: By the Brae was a superb BnB. The location was perfect, facilities clean, shower pressure fantastic, with the wee touches of orchids on the breakfast table, nice cutlery and scottish fine soap company all adding to the experience. The hosts were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was delicious!
Cons: We wish we could stay for longer instead of just the weekend. Would prefer a whole week there to explore the surroundings and beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. Next time for sure..
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent!!! Location for us was perfect as it was not in the centre of Inverness but instead in the country.
Cons: nothing it was all excellent.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard & Jenny made us at home. Accommodation perfect, quiet and homely. Breakfast was perfect too with a great choice. We’ll be back.
Cons: Nothing. Simply perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent! Nice place, Nice House, nice bedroom and excellent breakfast. The couple is really Nice:) All perfect... Diane and April
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Richard and Jenny were absolutely fantastic hosts. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel welcome. Richard provided so many helpful tips and suggestions for local attractions and places to visit as well as giving us a great overview of local pubs and restaurants etc. We were kindly given a complimentary room upgrade and the room was lovely and spacious. Room was spotless and had all the facilities you need. Perfect location, just 10 minutes drive from Inverness City Centre in a quiet rural area. Breakfast was beautiful!! Perfectly cooked with tasty, fresh produce (the sausages were our favourite!). Every morning we looked forward to it as well as having a chat with Richard/Jenny and fellow guests. Overall we loved our stay at By the Brae and felt we wanted to stay longer. Such a lovely place that makes you feel right at home when you step in. Wouldn't book anywhere else in Inverness.
Cons: Nothing!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at the Oöd Dryne House, the tips for the restaurants and the sightseeing were extraordinary!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This is the second time we have stayed at Old Drynie. It is a luxury B&B. The owners are very hospitable the accommodation leaves very little to be desired and the location is delightful with views from the garden over the Moray Firth, whilst also being a short drive from Inverness.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The environment is incredible, the room was perfect and very clean and the owner was very nice!!!
Cons: It takes 10 minutes from the city center, but it is worth it!!!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Breakfast was very good and they were very accommodating of us leaving early the next morning.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Big room and bathroom
Cons: Paying cash makes extra work
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The setting of the home is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. I fell in love with the place. My husband and traveled with my brother and his wife and we shared the Secret Garden. We each had our own room and bathroom and then shared a common living area. It was a great place to relax in the evenings... Deidre and Alisdair were amazing hosts.
Cons: The property was fabulous, no complaints at all. It is a bit off the beaten path... So don't plan to walk anywhere except along the riverfront. But you will have to drive to any restaurants or shops.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very spacious. Superbly furnished.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The house is located in an awesome place, the very well kept garden is inviting and Alasdair and Deirdre, the owners, make you feel at home. They are absolutely attentive and warm-hearted. No detail is left unattended. We were located in a lovely and spacious room next to a secret garden. It had everything a guest might need and more! The breakfast is served in the main house. It is really very good and the table is set with a magnificent china. I strongly recommend this B&B. One more thing, thank you so much Alasdair for your helpful tips to visit Cairngorm National Park!!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was amazing- one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a trip away. Liz couldn’t do enough to offer anything you wanted and the menu was delicious! Liz was so accommodating and really helped us have a relaxing stay in a time where it could have been as well just staying at home.
Cons: Absolutely nothing- we had a perfect stay, and we (And our doggy!) were so impressed with the room and facilities.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Outstanding hosts who go the extra mile to ensure a. Very comfortable stay Lots of extra touches Simply wonderful breakfast which kept us going all day! Great location with lovely walk to the town. We have just left and are already looking to book later in the year Thanks to liz and her lovely family x
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Ideally located near the beach and the golf course and very accessible to most tourist spots up in the highlands. Liz was an amazing host and ensured our stay was enjoyable. Exceptional breakfast served with love and kindness at the Sandown is a must-have as well.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was first class and the location just right . Also just right for a stay with a large dog with easy access to outside .
Cons: Not a thing .
Excellent 10.0

Cons: It was just what we were looking for - don’t change a thing!

Excellent 9.6
Pros: A small but very charming place just near Inverness, clean and comfortable. The owners are super friendly and their breakfasts are great.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Perfect for Inverness airport
Good 6.0
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were too hard, so I didn’t sleep very well
Excellent 10.0
Pros: friendly, clean, efficient
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfy beds nice room and owners were really friendly.
Cons: Nothing great people and place.
Good 6.2
Pros: The facility was very comfortable and breakfast was good.
Cons: The problem upon check in was that the hostess was very un hospitable. She was very rude to the couple who checked in just before us. (I spoke to them that night and the following morning. They did not feel welcome at all). As for my wife and I....my wife mistakenly booked only one person. The hostess wanted an extra £30 for the extra person. Does that seem excessive for an extra breakfast?. Well, I did say breakfast was good...but not for that amount. Oh well....at least she lightened up after I gave her the cash. (My wife wasn't happy but it was our vacation and I didn't need conflict)

Excellent 9.0
Pros: We were made to feel very welcome. Our hosts both hospitable and informative, they were only too pleased to help. The room was well designed and very comfortable.
Cons: Not the easiest place to find
Excellent 9.0
Pros: It was up to our expectations, clean and well kept. Plenty of room.
Cons: It was a bit far out, further than we thought but tno a problem
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Warm welcome, comfy beds & spotlessly clean
Cons: No complaints
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastic breakfast, great hosts. Lovely place to stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Fiona was an outstanding host. She gave us information on local area which was great. House was absolutely spotless. Would recommend and hopefully someday will go back to area which was superb too
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: breakfast was all that you would ask for
Cons: could not ask for better
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location, with really caring owners. Lovely breakfast.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely views and a very comfortable room with an excellent modern bathroom and a fine breakfast
Cons: In case you are not aware Hillhaven is a couple of miles outside Fortrose in a totally remote country location. It wasn't their fault but in the time of Covid you must book well in advance if you want a dinner in Fortrose. We came on a Tuesday and everything in Fortrose was already booked when we arrived in Hillhaven so it was the chippy for us that night. Worth booking one of the two restaurants in town before you set out.
Good 6.0
Pros: It was quiet and clean.
Cons: The walls were paper thin and you could hear everything. Was greeted by the family’s son who I think was standing in for the hosts and didn’t seem to have much clear understanding of hosting. Lacking in curtesy. We were shifted about a bit from an outside building to the main building for covid reasons. Felt a little on edge and not relaxed throughout.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location is beautiful, perfect for exploring the black isle. Even some Highland cows down the road!! The owners are very warm, helpful and make a cracking breakfast. Highly recommended!

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Truly stunning hotel !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are amazing and made us feel so welcome. They are more than pet friendly and Bruce couldn’t put a paw wrong. The food was outstanding and all brought to our room. And well situated for walks and site seeing. The walled garden was a bonus surprise.
Cons: Nothing, we had a great time and we will definitely be staying again.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: EVERYTHING. This was a very quiet romantic and comfortable place to stay and will DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!
Cons: Can't think of anything
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location, polite and gentile staff, outstanding dinner and delicious breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Eveything - excellent accommodation especially for those with an interest in history having close links to the Battle of Culloden Moor which is nearby.
Cons: Nothing. All good.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful and seeped in history.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The hotel is absolutely stunning, the building itself and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are big and luxurious. The food is absolutely superb, although comes with a matching price tag!
Cons: There is no tea and coffee in the room, this might be a COVID measure but unsure.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: First thing, the staff were excellent and shone through during these somewhat strange Covid times. The hotel itself is beautiful and set in delightful grounds. The room was wonderful, spacious and well provided for. Beds were comfortable, the room was. There is nothing not to like here. Dining, the food is very good. For a romantic break, or just a break (I mean, romance is really down to you, but it's good for that) you can't go far wrong. It's also a really decent base for exploring the best scenery the UK has to offer.
Cons: Nothing

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Fantastic style in room 2, reminded us of the old Poirot films, rooms very comfortable and the facilities available were just perfect
Cons: Need more coffee/tea in the room Maybe a small fridge
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The dining experience was brilliant! There were physical barriers between tables and everyone had plenty of space to eat. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. We had great views for dinner and breakfast. We had the Sea View Feature room - the views were spectacular in the morning and loved the cooper tube and mirror TV!! Very luxurious
Cons: I had asked ahead if the bed was king-size. When we arrived, I was a little disappointed as I had expected it to bigger than it was. I would say that was a very small king-sized bed. In the future, maybe they could upgrade to a super king.
Excellent 9.0

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, the views from the room and dining room were beautiful. Rosanne and Ian were warm and welcoming and helpful with information on where to go. The B&B is full of beautiful home touches, feeling very comfortable. We were very pleased to have the opportunity to see their sheep, sheepdogs, and goat and appreciated Ian doing a working sheepdog demonstration.
Cons: We could not have asked for anything better.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a great stay! Very comfortable. The family was very friendly and accommodating! Justina, our caretaker, was also so friendly and cheerful!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Host and staff were lovely. Great facilities, well cooked good breakfast, with lovely view. Host recommended we eat dinner at a local place which turned out to be excellent, we were so pleased to for the host to recommend, book us the table and give directions etc. En-suite bathroom facilities were excellent.
Cons: I think the bed frame was ready for a refresh. It was great having a fridge in the room but it was a bit noisy. I felt the overall cost was maybe too high but it was a very busy weekend in Inverness (marathon was on) so all accommodation was in demand, and booking.com take a hefty share of the price you pay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The bed was SO comfortable ! Minutes from Culloden Battlefield, host was lovely, view was great.N/a
Cons: Nothing !would
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely setting on a working farm. Room and ensuite clean and comfortable.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good breakfast, friendly owner.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely welcome from owner and husband. Super comfortable bed and brilliant power shower. Location perfect for relaxing and only a short drive to Inverness for some shopping. On a farm surrounded by a variety of animals. Great choice at breakfast to suit all. Plenty parking. Found a place we will return to often.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful property with a gorgeous communal sitting room to relax in. Breakfast was spectacular!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I LOVED the dispensers of soap and body wash in the shower! This was ingenious and very helpful. Also I loved the bathroom mirror that had a clock in it and lights. This is very helpful to a traveler who needs the bathroom in the middle of the night, and is unfamiliar with the surroundings. The lights were very appreciated. The breakfast was pretty good - the scrambled eggs were a little too runny for my taste. But other than that it was good.
Cons: Maybe this is a European practice not to use a top sheet in the bed...? But in multiple locations in our two week journey we stayed in places where there was no top sheet. Also the comforters were beautiful but VERY heavy and much too warm on the bed for that time of year. At Leanach farms we used the coverlet, but since there was no sheet I kept wondering if another couple had slept under it before us and whether or not it had been laundered. It was also a little bit itchy against my skin since it was textured. Sheets are smooth - not textured. I think it would be more energy efficient to use a top sheet, and then you would not have to wash the coverlet or bedspread very often at all. In addition I like to use a wash cloth in the shower - a small square cloth to wash with. I had to buy a nylon scrubby thing a few days before that because our previous rental didn't have a wash cloth either. I think perhaps I should start bringing some with me from home when I travel!
Excellent 8.5
Pros: The place was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was hearty.
Cons: At five to ten (the checkout time), the call went out. We were to be out the door by ten. The room across the hall from us ran out with things hanging from their suitcases. We ran and loaded the car, were told, no you have not left anything behind. Then my husband discovered his briefcase missing and had to run in and get it from our bedroom. All relaxation was gone from the way we were rushed out the door. I have never had this happen at any other B&B we stayed in.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good Breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Stayed for work, great location, nice clean hotel, didn’t experience the restaurant as my stay was during lockdown, staff very helpful and pleasant, no complaints, would stay again without a doubt.
Cons: No comment
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Bedroom space bathroom tops. Breakfast restaurant excellent. Comfy bed good views.
Cons: All fine I just prefer a fitted sheet on the bed as I am a restless sleeper.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The hotel was lovely and the staff were cheerful and attentive.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I have stayed several times and each stay has been great, the staff have been helpful, polite and friendly, and especially during Covid, precautions in place were more than satisfactory. The suite is lovely.
Cons: Unfortunately compared to other hotels, the breakfast is quite late. I have had the breakfast before and is always superb, but when travelling for work, an earlier option would be more ideal, as I had to miss it.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: good food, good accommodation, good staff, warm hotel
Cons: bit of a staff shortage with the bar, but this was mainly due to covid restrictions.
Excellent 9.6

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great place couldn’t fault
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good
Cons: Good
Good 7.0
Pros: Friendly and efficient staff. Clean room. Good location for my purpose.
Cons: Evening meal was a little “functional.”
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast was better than we expected given Covid and the cost of the room. The staff were first class; Rory in particular went above and beyond.
Cons: Couldn't get the AC working and it was overly warm
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast was managed well under the difficult circumstances we are in just now. Another chair in the bedroom would be handy. Also another power point would be good too,
Cons: While I realise the lack of power points is to keep the costs down, I think given that you are aiming your market at the travelling public and people that are working, most folk now have an iwatch/fitbit type thing that will require a charge during the stay, a mobile phone, possibly a tablet or laptop I think having to choose to boil the kettle watch the television or dry your hair as well as charging your watch phone etc is a bit inconvenient.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Every thing was perfect
Cons: Variety food
Good 7.6
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Great buffet breakfast. Roomy rooms. Located not too far from a bus stop, so easy to get places. We stayed here 4 years ago, and liked it.
Cons: Would be nice if they had transportation to/from train/bus stations, but getting there via the city bus is not too difficult (as long as a bus driver doesn't mislead you as to when your next bus really is). It was our most expensive room on the trip.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Easy check in, lovely large apartment in nice little town,
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely apartment, kids were delighted with having ensuite everything, about the first time there's not been fights for the showers! Quiet despite being on the main road, clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back :)
Cons: Nothing :)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Couldn't have asked for anything better. Comfortably housed our family of 5 and wee pooch. Great location, lots of beautiful scenery. Lovely touch by the hosts with a few essentials provided and fully equipped for all our needs.
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Fantastic family mini break with the dogs included, Lorraine was most accommodating to our needs.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Good location, lovely spacious apartment with welcoming tray. Host was quick at responding to any messages.
Cons: Only a couple of minor comments. The road noise was sometimes quite noisy with passing buses or vans but nothing that kept us up all night. Practically somewhere to hang your jackets up would be handy in the hall area (Red Kite Apartment).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent location, very good value for money and was spotless clean, will defo be back again. The bread, milk and eggs that the hosts left to us on arrival was a lovely gesture thanks again hope to see you again soon
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The room was very clean and there was biscuits, tea, coffee and hot cocoa
Cons: The beds were hard and had springs sticking into us and at night between 10 and midnight there was a lot of slamming door on the floor under us.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The apartment was spotlessly clean. There was a tray with coffee, tea etc. Eggs bread jams butter. This was a lovely surprise and came in handy. There is a little scotmid coop right across the road. Children's play park just behind the apartments. A small garden too. Apartment was warm and cosy. Dog friendly too our pups enjoyed their stay. We are already thinking we will book this apartment again as a base for another stay cation.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Good for the money, really good especially 3 bathrooms for this 2 bedroom apartment
Okay 5.4
Pros: Room was clean.
Cons: Only one towel between the two of us. No staff were around so had to fend for ourselves. Shower would not drain. Would have liked the opportunity to have had breakfast before we left but there was little chance as no staff were working.
