A very secluded resort in a good way.Excellent services and facilities.Room are very clean and comfortable.
Quite far from nearest town (taxi fares can be expensive)
The landscaping is very good and the view from the breakfast platform is great.
The breakfast service was chaotic after 9.30am, so the first lesson you learn is to get to breakfast early to have a calm and enjoyable experience. The breakfast area appears to be too small given the size of the hotel. The buggy service was also subject to long delays sometimes. There was no follow up from the general manager after I complained about the chaotic and overcrowded breakfast service to the food and beverage manager.
Hotel is excellent, staff is super friendly, food is great, location the best, view from villa is the best!!! Sme
View, sea, pool, and villa.
Food and Beverage overpriced. Ocean View was obstructed.
This is a beautiful resort comprising individual villa accommodation, three restaurants onsite and a private beach. The individual villas are superb. The villas are large with high ceilings and equipped to a very high standard. The bed is fabulous and there is a separate large living area, as well as a luxury bathroom with separate shower. The highlight of the room is the pool that is large enough to be more than just a plunge pool. I took a dip every morning as soon as I woke up. I thoroughly recommend the partial ocean view villas, as they give a good view of the ocean as well as being higher in the development, so less crowded by trees. Service is of a very high standard and the staff are all helpful. The lobby restaurant provides an excellent buffet breakfast.
The villas are quite spread out, which is good for privacy, but it does mean that you need to call for a buggy every time you want to go anywhere. We were lucky in that our villa was within walking distance of the lobby and restaurant, but other villas are much further afield. The hotel is expensive, so you will pay a lot for food and drinks in any of the restaurants, although the quality is high. There is limited entertainment/activities in the hotel, so you will need a taxi ride into the nearest town (Lamai) for a more exciting evening.
Overlooking the sapphire waters of scenic Lamai Bay, Banyan Tree Samui is nestled in a series of cascading terraces on a private cove on the Southeastern coast of Koh Samui. The luxury all-pool villa resort combines the best elements of a tropical getaway with a pristine beach, blissful spa escapes, bespoke dining experiences, locally-infused elements and an unparalleled view of the Gulf of Thailand.
