Very Charming Hotel
This was a very charming hotel. The location was wonderful - only a few blocks from an Underground station and Hyde Park. The staff was great - very helpful and friendly. The concierge helped with getting tickets to museums and other attractions as well as trains, which saved a great deal of time not waiting in long lines. We took advantage of the breakfast service. The food was good with lots of options. The waitstaff was very attentive. We did not have to wait long for assistance. The maid staff was fine as well and also very friendly. On several occasions, we had to call the front desk to request additional towels and they arrived within minutes.
The Rembrandt is an older hotel with some of the issues associated with that. For example, the "switch" that controlled power to the room would "break" if the bathroom door was closed to hard in our room or a neighboring room. This could be easily fixed by tapping on the control panel. The room had a small table and desk, so there was no room for a wardrobe. It was a little difficult living out of a suitcase for two weeks. It would have been smarter to remove the desk and substitute some drawers for clothing.
Very Stylish Very British Very Nice.
Well designed room; very complete; lots of nice touches. Heated towel rack; jacuzzie tub; upscale furnishings; even has a couple of 110/115 outlets. Location cannot be beat; just down from Harrods and up from South Kensington Underground station two stops away from Victoria Station and 4 stops away from Westminster Station. The BigBus "hop on hop off" number 36 is just out front and the narrated tour the bus provides last right at 3.5 hours with city traffic and goes to every single place of interest. Tour bus pricing varies based on package deal but around $30 per person. The staff of the hotel always exceeds expectation; Neal, the head concierge; is full of insights for the area; found us a large private van to Heathrow for $65. We had 4 big bags from a twoo week Cruise, so the large Mercedes was excellent. The hotel and its ammenities are moderately pricied if not leaning a little toward expensive, as in breakfast; but in tota,l worth the money especially if on vacation. A superior experience; will stay here again when visiting London for sure.
Outstanding hotel quality, service, and location
Service was outstanding. They provided extra towels and outlet adapter when asked. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great place to use for our home base for our anniversary getaway to London. Centrally located downtown. Close to the tube. Full English breakfast was included in our reservation but I was informed that not every reservation qualified for the "full" breakfast and instead they received a continental breakfast.
Limited menu in hotel restaurant.
Edwardian elegance and modern amenities come together at The Rembrandt hotel in Knightsbridge, London. The hotel’s 193 guest rooms were originally designed to be apartments for London's most famous department store, Harrods. Today, the rooms have been updated to offer an ideal balance of character and comfort. Services and Amenities The historical Rembrandt hotel offers two sought-after contemporary perks - complimentary WiFi and English breakfast. For guests catching an early flight, the hotel will even deliver breakfast to the room. The in-house Palette Restaurant serves traditional British cuisine (and international options) at lunchtime, and because afternoon tea is a must-do while in London, The Rembrandt offers both a traditional and a Champagne version of the repast. Conservatory Bar and 1606 Lounge Bar are ideal for a more casual bite or a cocktail. With a range of event spaces and a warm, hospitable staff, The Rembrandt is also a destination for both business functions and weddings. Guests also receive discounted access to the adjacent Aquilla Health and Fitness Club, which offers a spa and pool. Attractions The Victoria and Albert Museum is just across the street, while the hotel's fashionable neighborhood is home to many trendy boutiques and popular restaurants. Other London must-dos, such as Hyde Park, Harrods, and the Natural History Museum, are within a ten minute walk, and three tube lines are available at nearby South Kensington station.
