Pros:The room was comfortable, clean and very stylish. The bathroom was really clean and provided proper amenities. They provided a great list of available restaurants, too. Really pleased with the overall environment.
Cons:Construction on the building began pretty early in the morning and could hear it in our room, but that wasn’t the worst.

Cons:Very disappointed to have been assigned, I suppose, to the back-alley motel they refer to as an "annex". I NEVER would have spent $200 to book there had I known ahead of time. We were in town for the funeral of a beloved family member who passed very suddenly and unexpectedly. We booked a room in the inn and even called to verify, requesting to be placed near certain family members. We canceled our first night booking, which my parents took over. They stayed in the inn. When we arrived for the second night we were told we were being sent to the "annex" (back alley motel). Not a very nice experience to be price gouged for a motel room when you think you're staying with family in a cozy inn, especially when the singular purpose for your travel was for a funeral. The room in the "annex" was very drafty, cold. We will not stay here again.

Pros:The location was great, just across from the main part of town and fairly close to Middlebury College. Free wifi and plenty of TV channels was a plus.
Cons:My room was "upgraded" and was up two long flights of stairs. I had to help someone who was struggling with their suitcases because I felt bad she was having such a hard time. I wonder what the standard room would have been like as the beds were uncomforable, the sheets and pad came untucked during the night and bedspread was dated and uncomfortable. I did not get a good night sleep for either of my two night stay. The room was small and nothing fancy, about the same as any other standard room.

Pros:Perfect location for visit to Middlebury College. I asked for one King room with pull out and private bath and we were surprised with two rooms. One had a king bed, shared bathroom and separate room with two single beds. It made for a very comfortable stay for couple traveling with college-bound teen. Shared bathroom locked on each side so we had no issues. Plenty of room and lots of privacy for all. Close to restaurants and all amenities. Highly recommend. Note, we usually don't like Inns but this was big enough that we felt we had lots of space. Thank you.

Pros:We had booked a standard room but were pleased to learn upon arrival that the Inn had upgraded us! The dinner we enjoyed was delicious and ample. The breakfast, the same. Perfect location for walking around town.
Cons:The heating/cooling unit in the room was very loud.

Pros:This was a central location, within easy walking distance to the small downtown area.
Cons:The pictures when booking all focused on the main building - a historical, sophisticated-looking inn. However, when we arrived we discovered that we were placed in the motel out back, NOT what we had been expecting or wanted. We had been hoping for something more upscale, to say the least. The view out of the small windows was of a narrow alley with trash, rather than the beautiful Green Mountains we had hoped to see. This would have just been a minor inconvenience (for the price, we probably should have expected a less-than-stellar place), but the beds were also very "well-used" (i.e. sunken into the middle), which caused us both to sleep horribly. My husband ended up with a very sore back the next day, putting a damper on our exploration of the area and resulting in a visit to the chiropractor when we returned home. We will NOT be returning to this "inn" for our future visits to Vermont.
