Breakfast buffet excellent; room was spacious
Ramp instead of steps inside hotel to assist with moving luggage
Front desk staff member did not greet nor ask if I had ever been there. Did not tell us anything about the facility or amenities the hotel offered. Seemed aggravated that I had booked with an outside agency. Room was not cleaned one day & had to chase someone down to get it cleaned. Rooms need a little facelift.
Good food,nice pool, comfortable beds
Inside the hotel was very cold
LOVED the pool!!! great extended hours, heated, and lap lane.
breakfast should be included, even if it's a small selection
Oasis in the sky
The Bonaventure is a rather unusual hotel, built in a very late 20th century modern style on the top 2 floors of an office/convention center building. Its rooms are laid out in a ring, surrounding a center lobby area with a bar and restaurant, year-round outdoor heated pool and hot tub, and a pond with ducks. Rooms are sleek and modern in a 1960-70s way, but comfortable and updated with firm beds and very nicely sized bathrooms. The rooms are very quiet, The ring layout means that there is minimal hallway noise and the hotel is high enough and with thick enough windows that there is almost no street noise (and many rooms face inner courtyards instead of the street). Staff and service are friendly and efficient, without being intrusive. Bonaventure isn't super-deluxe, but it is a welcoming, calming, and unique experience.
The only things I can think of is that the walk to the rooms can be a little long, due to the unusual layout and the fact that there are only 2 elevators between the street level and the lobby on the 10th floor. And guests should be aware that there will be short stairways between the lobby area and the hallways for the rooms. The drain in our tub was quite slow, but we let management know and they said the situation would be fixed before the next guest came. There is not a lot going on in the immediate area around the hotel, particularly at night (but there is a large train station across the street with multiple food options, including late fast food and a 24 hour Tim Horton's, and hotel is connected through convention center to underground passages and Metro station).
Built along the Saint Lawrence River, Hotel Bonaventure Montreal is a popular destination that is located in the heart of downtown Montreal. It is well-equipped to meet the needs of a wide array of travelers, tourists, and people on business thanks to its large selection of accommodations, conference rooms, and amenities.
This establishment is less than 20 minutes away from the Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, and is located across the street from the Montreal Central bus station. As such, the hotel is easily reachable and is a good launching point when it comes to seeing various sites in the city. Guests who stay here can take a day trip to the Montreal Museum of Archeology and History, relax at any of the numerous parks nearby, or check out the famous Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral.
Hotel Bonaventure Montreal has plenty of options when it comes to rooms and suites for guests to enjoy. They range from standard rooms with king or queen beds to spacious suites that include a living room and separate work area. There are also options for those who need special accessibility, and these rooms feature furniture, doorways, and electrical outlets which are carefully configured to meet the needs of differently-abled guests.
Guests at the hotel can enjoy spending time at the Mia Spa, which is dedicated to promoting the peace of mind, beauty, and overall wellness of each guest. The spa offers a range of massage therapy and beauty treatments by qualified staff, and is available from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. daily. Le Bisco is the hotel restaurant that serves a variety of delicious Canadian cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a separate bar that is open daily where guests can enjoy food and drinks.
