HOUSEKEEPING GREAT FOR A 5 DAY STAY FRONT DESK QUICK CHECK IN AND CHECK OU GREAT HOTEL RESTAURANT
The entire staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating highly recommend staying there
The elevators were a joke and the front desk was rude. It’s an old stinky hotel with rooms that are microscopic in size
It is a beautiful hotel in the heart of the city
The elevators were having a lot of trouble But other than that it was a wonderful experience
Being an old hotel the walls are thick making it completely sound proof which I really appreciated. This was a fact not everyone, even the staff seemed to realize until I pointed it out but I would think a great selling point. There are three restaurant in the hotel. Loved that they had dogs from Westminster dog show. Was sorry I had to leave. I will certainly be back next year and make sure at time for the dog show. Location was great. I came by Amtrak and was two minutes walk away. Madison Square Garden very close. I had a lovely view of the Hudson river.
The beds were very comfortable but also very high making it difficult for me to get into bed. Probably difficult for old and old short people. I will ask for a foot stool next time. That is about all.
The Wyndham New Yorker I a large hotel on the south side of Midtown West that attracts a healthy mix of business and leisure travelers, but the past is more alluring than its present.
The New Yorker is located eight blocks from one of the busiest intersections in the world, at 42nd and Broadway in Times Square. The physical location is on 8th Avenue, between 34th and 35th Streets, and only one block from one of the busiest train stations in the country, Penn Station. Despite its convenient location, the hotel is significantly less touristed and considered to locals at the Garment District. It’s within walking distance to plenty of popular sites including Times Square, the Empire State Building, the New York Public Library, Bryant Park, and Madison Square Garden.
Amenities on-site at the New Yorker include a fitness center, 24-hour business center, and meeting facilities for business travelers. It boasts of two restaurants, an Italian dining option open for lunch and dinner and a 24-hour diner offering a 50’s-era theme. Local dining options are in every direction, including the adventurous Koreatown. New York City offers three nearby airports, JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark. Each airport is 30-to-90 minutes from the hotel, plus offers shuttles and limos to the airport straight from the hotel.
Accommodations are basic but offer style and modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and iPod docking stations. There are two types of basic rooms, Metro and City View, both types offer queen beds and two double beds.
If being close to Madison Square Garden is a priority, the New Yorker is a solid choice. Plus, travelers can learn about the fascinating history of the building.
