9.5 Excellent
Pros: Right in JR Station and can reach all attractions without a lot of driving. The Front Desk gave us an excellent sushi restaurant in Pier Bandai and we ended up having dinner 2 nights in a row.
Cons: The car park is about 15 minutes away, although it can be reached under covered through the train station.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This is hotel is located in a huge modern tower. The rooms are new and clean - not huge, but comfortable. It's definitely designed with the business traveler in mind (Niigata is not much of a tourist destination). It's a good deal for the price. There is parking for a small fee and the front desk staff speaks English. We were able to check in late no problem.
Cons: The beds were a little hard, but nothing unusual for a hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: View is nice
Cons: Location is a bit off

Pros: The location is quite good, we went to the Niigata Station by taxi always but prefer to get back to hotel by walking which only took us around 15 minutes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service excellent
Cons: Room smaller than expected. Our room is with three beds. They use Bedspread as comforter rather strange and uncomfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff and service with a passion for hospitality
Cons: Very hot rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Despite being an old hotel, it's lovingly maintained and you could sense the old opulence it once held. Staff are well conversed in English and very helpful and friendly. The room I had had a beautiful view of the river. If I were to do over, I'd choose to stay here again.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very close to Bandai City and a 10-15 minute walk from the main Niigata train station. It has its own parking lot across the street, and there are plenty of restaurants near by. The bed was very comfy.
Cons: When I paid for parking it was quite expensive, (about $42) but I think there is a way for parking to be cheaper for guests, but I believe most of that info was in Japanese.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff. I arrived early around noon and merely wish to place my luggage but was told that the room was ready for move in. The room has a beautiful scene of the river and pier.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well location very close to the main shopping and dining area (Bandai) just a few mins walk. Staff very polite and helpful and able to communicate in good English. Room clean and facilities are good. Around 15 mins walk from central station the other popular area.
Cons: Just as many comments before too warm inside the room as the air conditioning has already been changed to heater with no choice to adjust the temperature. A typical problem in many Japanese hotels.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location was good. Staff were nice.
Cons: The room was dirty, the bathroom was also dirty. The hotel needs a real upgrade. The carpet was stained and the room was really hot, we couldnt change the air conditioning and the heavy blanket was too thick and we had to remove the doona cover and just sleep with that. They really need a thin blanket stored in the wardrobe for those people who find the room far too hot and stuffy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: StaffNothing
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was convenient and the hotel itself was very well-kept. The room itself was clean and I was happy to receive fresh towels every day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Customer Service was excellent. Although the room was small,it had all the amenities I desired. Very clean and I was very comfortable and slept well. Thank you for your attention to detail!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The price was good and the location wasn’t terrible
Cons: The room was dusty and very cramped for 2 people. The bed was very old And uncomfortable.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The location is good, and like all Japanese staffed Hotels the front desk service was friendly. The windows are openable.
Cons: But the room was beyond unclean, it was grimy. There were hairs on the bathroom floor. I drew a frowny face in the dust on the foldaway desk table. There were obvious fingerprints on flat surfaces. The narrow back alley view was not inspiring. And the bed was slightly too short, in a tightly fitted space that precluded dangling toes over the end of the bed. Yep, I caught the flu here.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was good enough
Cons: We paid far too much for what ended up being an average Japanese business hotel. Staff assumed we were foreigners and asked several times for passport / ID
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet hotel with friendly staff and decent sized rooms.
Cons: The only two things were the bed was really really hard and like with many places they will not allow tattooed people to use the public bathhouse, understand it’s common in Japan if a little disappointing. This meant my husband was not allowed to enter the bathroom area to access the washing machine, luckily my tattoos are coverable with clothes so I could get the washing done.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Air Con is good, location is good
Cons: Had to pay extra for parking as a hotel guest. I've seen other hotels in the region that offers free parking for guest.
5.0 Okay
Pros: No else thing like
Cons: Room very and no space to walk

Pros: Good location and nice staffs
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great, good parking option, bed was comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is so convenient. It is directly opposite the train station and one of the bus stations in Niigata. There are many restaurants and cafes in the area. I had a twin room for single use. The room was quite spacious. The window looked out on the station and the road in front of the hotel. There was a fridge and two bottles of water for free in the room. I had a room at the end of a hall and it was very quiet. I never heard other guests at all. I also appreciated the free movies in the room and watched quite a few during my stay. The staff was friendly with quite good English. I had no problems checking into the hotel and was even given a coin for a welcome drink.
Cons: The room was generally comfortable, but I could sometimes hear street noises despite being on a higher floor. During a snowstorm the movie system didn't work very well. (I'm reaching here....I really like this hotel and usually stay here when I'm in Niigata!)

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room is big by Japanese standard. Do not let the facade of hotel deceive you. Nice room. Near JR station less than 10 min walk...grab a train bento and hop on to your shinkaisen for next destination
Cons: Lack of English sightseeing brochure.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Last minute choice had stayed on other side at Ramada so wanted to try this side of station. Hotel was a bit' lack lustre'. Looked like it was occupying more space than it need to. Limited facilities in the room & was a bit drab & tired on the whole. The room was supposed to be 18sqm but I think they gave us a smaller room as very tight. Beds not the best no extra pillows or blankets & was a bit cold. parking rate very over priced considering you can park much cheaper nearby.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very closed to station The staff very helpfull and the breakfast
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location (connected with niigata station) and many restaurants nearby. Staffs are really helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. Extremely clean, comfortable and a good-sized room. TOTALLY WORTH STAYING AND WILL STAY AGAIN!!
Cons: It is a simple hotel with not much facilities, but the location of the hotel is amazing. Shame that there isn't any clear signage that leads guests from the train station to the hotel, which is connected via a link bridge on the 2nd floor.
7.1 Good
Pros: Its connected to the station and the place is very convenient for transportation and restaurants. It was clean and staff was nice. Room is just typical nothing fancy but its fine for the price I paid.
Cons: I just didn’t like the pillow and the blanket.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. 8.0 Excellent
Pros: Shuttle service to the hotel even though the hotel was walking distance from the train station. Onsen was a good size, well equipped. Bed was a little small and room a bit odd shaped but overall a nice place to stay at.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities. Friendly staff. Easily identifiable with high sign board. With vending machines and ice every floor, and free coffee at lobby.
Cons: located 5-7 minutes walk from Shinkansen station. Ok for business, can be some walking for elderly/ kids.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The baths were very nice, except the women's bath was on the second floor and did not have a rotenburo. My husband told me that the men's bathroom on the 10th floor did have a rotenburo and was very nice. The room decor was wooden and looked comforting and cozy. There was a convenient electric socket in the bedhead. There was a fridge too, but it was down the hall under the sink. There were multi-lingual signs up all over the hotel. As a person who doesn't read a lot of Japanese, it was convenient and helpful. The staff I dealt with spoke English fairly well. In the room, there was a sink outside the bathroom which was quite convenient to use when someone was using the toilet or the bath.
Cons: The room was small. We reserved a double room but it was smaller than I expected. The heating was also on overdrive. It was a cold night, but the room was much too hot. Even turning the heater down didn't work, we had to turn it off or we wouldn't have been able to sleep. We had the free noodles that were offered in the evening. My husband is a ramen snob and didn't like them, I thought they were okay, but maybe a tad too cold. The breakfast was okay. My husband enjoyed the Japanese dishes, but I wasn't too impressed by the more western offerings. It did seem to be refilled often, so that was good. The hotel was quite expensive for the size of the room. It was quite far from convenience stores and the station. There were restaurants in the area, but not for a few blocks.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Not too far from the train station Friendly staff Onsen
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Free car park and nice onsen
7.0 Good
Pros: We got extra pillows right away when we asked the front desk. The hot spring water wasn't as scalding hot as most other places, it was really comfortable and relaxing. The room looked recently updated and was very clean and beautiful. The bed was comfortable and much softer than most hotels in Japan.
Cons: My main problem was how hot it was in the room. The temperature adjustment panel was limited to heat or fan only, and the room was uncomfortably hot. Fan didn't really do anything to cool off the room, it just kind of circulated the existing hot air. We could open the window thankfully, and that made the room a comfortable temperature, but because the hotel had some exterior construction we were supposed to keep our windows closed and curtains drawn. It would be nice if we could have used the A/C function (though it's winter, we tend to feel Japanese spaces are way overheated for our liking). The pillows were kind of hard and uncomfortable. The hot spring was good, but the men's hot spring on the 10th floor looked much nicer and more spacious based on the photos I saw of it. I wish the women's facilities had been as nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bath is open over night until 9 am, which is fairly rare, but extremely convenient for late night people!
Cons: The windows in the rooms don’t open. That, however, is relatively common in Japan.

8.3 Excellent
Cons: it is little bit old and worn hotel, but for that price ok
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. We communicated just fine, even though their english was limited and we spoke no japanese. They were helpful and friendly. The view from our room was good, would have seen the japan sea but it was raining. Good restaurants close by.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We gathered three rooms for under 150 dollars. The bath house was great. I overall enjoyed my experience here and found it great for the price.
Cons: I didn't like how you had to take your own shampoo to your room. I felt like that sort of stuff should have already been in the room to begin with. A very small complaint.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Public bath they have, quit big room.
Cons: They renovate water tank, still have rust.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Only the staff.
Cons: It's soooo dirty and smells very bad from the bleach they use to "clean"! I guess they use all the rooms as smoking rooms if they need more. I don't know how people can rate this as a good hotel. I've been in Japan for over one month now and it was the worst place I stayed at.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff
Cons: Could have been a bit more clean .. but it was ok for the money

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice Hotel, with small rooms but great staff and good clean rooms. Just what to expect
Cons: We did not realise that the Hotel was a bit far from the centre which made us spend a bit more on time and Taxi. But then we should have checked that out ourselves before booking!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The beds were extremely comfortable!
Cons: There was only one towel in each bathroom, we had to request one extra each day.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Staff are very nice - Free parking area
Cons: - Breakfast is not that impressive (only a few choices)
7.1 Good
Pros: The shower was good
Cons: The breakfast was not very good . Scrambled Eggs , coffee and toast were promised . The coffee was ok , the bread tiny and the scrambled eggs was digusting . We tried to cancel the breakfast the day before after paying for it but was told this was not allowed. Brought the hotel experience right down :(
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic value for money, the rooms were very well maintained and very clean. The hotel is located just off a highway exit and less than 15 mins of driving to the city. I think it serves as a perfect base for road trips to the majority attractions in Niigata. I did not have a chance to evaluate public transport to this hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, functional low cost hotel next to motorway
Cons: Very hard bed and pillow
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was clean and the bed comfortable. There is plenty of parking and there is a supermarket, coffee shop and decent Italian restaurant across the street from the hotel. The bus stop is next to the hotel and it the bus takes 20 mins to Niigata train station (downtown).
Cons: For me, the breakfast was ok but some of the options were a bit weird and not very appetizing in the morning! For example: curry, spaghetti, meatballs and dumplings were served. They did serve salad, eggs, some bread rolls, coffee and juice which were ok though.

Cons: Room Wifi wasn't working the first night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was very comfortable and staff were really friendly. Location is good as well, about a 5-10 minute walk from Niigata station. Many convenience stores nearby as well. Single room was rather spacious.
Cons: Lighting of the room was a bit dim.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, so close to the station and the Bridge. We went for the Summer festival, and walked to all of the festivities from there. Staff were very helpful. It was super clean, and quiet.
Cons: I have no complaints whatsoever. It was a great hotel to stay in. Highly recommend it.
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast: excellent - big buffet with lots of choices. Location: excellent - very close to the train station and in the middle of an eatery and entertainment district. Lots of choices. Staff was excellent - very friendly and accommodating. Laundry machines next to the lobby were convenient and easy to use.
Cons: Here is what I didn't like: Our "non-smoking" room smelled like someone had been smoking in it for years. Very strong smell of stale cigarette smoke. If it weren't for that, I would given this top rating across the board.

Pros: The hotel was suitably modern. The breakfast was nice - closer to traditional Japanese than most business hotels. Free tea and coffee in the reception. This also includes proper British tea! And there was a free to use massage chair in the reception.
Cons: The milk for the free tea and coffee was off in the reception (probably from being out all day and not refrigerated overnight). The room was very small, although we coped and we did have a lot of bags but it was difficult to move round.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean room, good location, near amenities. Very close from the station and the taxi driver knew it right away, will definitely book again, should I go back to the city.
Cons: A little more English from the staff could have helped, but we managed anyway ;)!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was so kind and free breakfast was so nice and its more than my expectation. I didnt expect free breakfast and its so amazing meal. Really closed to walk around downtown and everything is near by. Compared price, its just awsome! Room is small but its good price to stay with free breakfast.
Cons: Small room but its not so bad.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: A good spread of Japanese buffet Breakfast. The Front Desk recommended us to go to the sushi restaurant in Pier Bandai. It was excellent and we ended having dinner there twice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location, right on the train station and easy access to buses to everywhere in Niigata. Room (and bathroom) is larger than average in this level. It'a perfect in all dimensions; staff, cleanliness, comfortable, convenience and breakfast. Highly recommended.
Cons: No, it's perfect.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is well situated on the banks of the river, within a 10-minute walk from th e city centre. The hotel is quite luxurious, but I got a really excellent rate.
Cons: Niigata was struck by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake when I was there, which was felt most in Niigata prefecture. My room rocked for about 10 seconds, but the hotel (and I!) survived!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and very helpful with our luggage. Rooms were also very spacious and comfortable.
Cons: Not much food around the area so you will need to go to the main area near the station for the full variety of food. Also, there is a small but present flight of steps from the front entrance to the lobby with no ramp at all so if you are travelling with huge pieces of luggage alone this may not be so ideal. The staff however were extremely helpful and helped us carry the luggages up the steps.
