10.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to the ruins. Town centre is a short drive away via collectivo or taxi, pool lovely for cooling down and plenty of hamocks and sun loungers. Cabanas clean and with fan, shared bathrooms very clean and plenty of showers and toilets. Shared kitchen fine, no grill or toaster but perfect for cooking basic food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The surrounding is amazing, you’re in the jungle and can spot some animals. The staff is so friendly!
Cons: The food from the restaurant is not good!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice cabañas right in the jungle, very good starting point to visit the Palenque ruins. Awesome swimming pool. Cute Agoetis walking around. We really liked it and booked an extra night. Also recommending to visit the animal rescue center: Aluxes ecopark , you can walk to there on a paved path.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location in the jungle. We saw howler monkeys near our cabanas. Nice pool area. Great food in the restaurant. Friendly staf. The ruins are just 5 min ride away. Just amazing stay.
Cons: Animals might wake you at night, but that's to be expected in the jungle.
6.0 Good
Pros: Lovely gardens, nice little pool (with separate kids section), twenty minute walk to the archaeological site entrance. Just across the road from Don Mucho restaurant that does have atmosphere and live music.
Cons: Very basic cabins, lacklustre restaurant with no atmosphere, not enough sun loungers at the pool.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Pretty much everything.
Cons: The restaurant is very open- the one across the road is cosier especially in cool damp weather.

2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Left 2 days early but still payed for it checked into different hotel in Palenque
Cons: No customer service
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was really and nice and helpful, I was also able to check in prior to the official check in time. The surrounding greens are pretty nice and together with the animals there makes for an authentic natural environment.
Cons: As mentioned by other people already, the interior is rather old fashioned. The blinds to the window weren't closing entirely leaving a gap so that people walking by could actually look into my room. I also ordered some food there, however nothing from the menu, just super simple plain rice and chicken without spice as my stomach wasn't doing great. The portion was tiny, the price however pretty big considering how this was the most plain a food can be (cost me around 10 Euros). I walked there from the centre which is fine in general, but had I known that from the street to actually get to the building I would have to walk over a pretty bumpy road, I wouldn't have. My suitcase did not like this long walk over the uneven road.
7.5 Good
Pros: The position: we were also able to spot monkeys and tucans.
Cons: Nothing to highlight.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: - staff were very friendly & tried to help despite not speaking much english - shower was lovely & hot with good pressure - roberto helped us book a tour to the ruins for the next day despite it being 8pm - cheap laundry close by Over all i would stay there again
Cons: - food was expensive... the room was cheap but the food wasnt and it was a 15 minute walk to the centre with cafes ect - it seems like the majority of guests were part of a large tour group so as an independant couple travelling we felt a bit of a strange atmosphere... either really quiet or really busy?!? - pool was cold & the shallow pool with sun loungers built in had no water
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the grounds and the spa area especially. We didn't take a massage but loved walking the property. Excellent value. The photos do not do the place justice. You might want to improve your photos and possibly marketing. It was more upscale than the photos show. Thank you.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception and restaurant staff is very nice. The hotel is surrounded by incredible greenery and trees, you only hear the sound of nature.
6.0 Good
Pros: Nice location, close to city centre.
Cons: I have booked a double room with bath, but I get a room with shower. The pictures for the room by the booking process was wrong (photos of "junior suite" at the "double room")
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We couldn’t have a better experience. Great staff, excellent service, spotless place, really clean. The food amazing. We wee really pleased with our stay!
Overview Reviews
Chan-kahs landscape contains beautiful gardens rich in colorful vegetation across 42 hectares deep in its rainforest with amazing swimming pool lagoon type. Surrounded by the natural beauties, of the state of Chiapas. our facilities are not only located on the gate to the Lacandona jungle, but also this resort is only a few minutes away from the main entrance to one the most important ancient Maya cities on earth.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice setting in the jungle, restaurant is good, the hotel has an arrangement with a travel agency to book trips around palenque
Cons: Service can be improved
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, comfortable beds, good food, convenient to ruins, good wifi, nice pools.
7.9 Good
Pros: The property is beautiful. The staff was very nice. The food is not good. The toilet in our room made an awful nose when you flushed.
5.4 Okay
Pros: NA
Cons: MANY THINGS. RESTAURANTE WAS THE ONLY REALY GOOD
4.2 Okay
Pros: Looks good from the outside
Cons: It may look good on the outside but for us it was a great disappointment in many ways. Above all the food is terrible and since the hotel is located quite outside everything else you kind of depend on it. Furthermore the beds are quite uncomfortable and its super noisy in the morning so it’s difficult to sleep. The pool looks nice but there are way to few chairs to find a place because it’s all occupied pretty soon. The laundry service was the greatest impudence. They charged us 80 Euros (1700 MXN)!! for one laundry service (normally 100-150 pesos in Mexican hotels) For us our stay at Chan Kah was the greatest disappointment and we would definitely not recommend it at all!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: This resort is amazing. We really loved it here.
7.0 Good
Pros: The jungle setting was fun and the Pool area is great.
Cons: Beds were hard.
5.0 Okay
Pros: This hotel is let down by the rooms. They are nothing more than very basic cabins. There is no WiFi in the rooms, no facility for coffee, no fridge or minibar. The bed is hard and the pillows solid. The shower is a dingy concrete cubicle, the towels skimpy. There is no privacy unless you keep curtains closed at all times. The decor is cheap and gaudy, with plastic chairs. The restaurant is mediocre, they offer adequate international cuisine, but cannot provide a cup of black tea anywhere on site. Fortunately I took my own teabags, typical Brit abroad, and was charged £3 at the onsite Starbucks for a cup of boiling water. Inexcusable. For a better restaurant walk 15 minutes along the road to El Bajlum This is such a shame as the pool is fabulous, the tropical landscaping is lovely, and the layout all well designed. The staff are wonderful, really kind, friendly and helpful, and I feel sad for them that I have to complain about what the top management provide.
Cons: This could be a lovely hotel if they made the rooms more comfortable and improved their facilities. And how hard it is to provide black tea?
1.0 Poor
Pros: The pool is great.
Cons: The reception workers are awful. I paid for the hotel online 1825 peso including breakfast, the people in the reception told me that i need to pay the taxes and i said no problem, but then, the showed me a fake recipt where it says that i paid only 1620 peso, and asked me for 450 peso taxes insted of 247. They accused me for theft and even had a worker from booking to call me and saying that if i dont pay i need to pay the full price. The worker from booking was rude and didnt want to listen. Eventually, after 3 hours fighting they decided to give up and we decided that we continue when the boss arives. When the boss arived they printed a fake recipt again and i asked where is the original one anx they said they dont know what i speaking about. Sadly for them i kept the original one and went to my room to get it and showed it to their boss who was shocked from their behaviour. He offerd me as a Compensation to give me back 247 peso, are you serious?! My mom came all the way back from israel to visit me and i spend 3 hours fighting with your laying worker and 1 hour with you and thats all you give me?! Bonuse point: We went to get the "vip relaxing massage" Worst Massage In My Life. My neck is stuck and back hurt after the massage, the wprkers werent nice, the room was freezing, and the massage was painful. Ill never be back. And i except from you booking for a Compensation. I paid a lot of money for a really shitty experiense and im very very mad.

5.8 Okay

Cons: They need to do a remodel of the bedrooms
7.0 Good
Pros: Location was good. A 50 pesos ride to town. I liked the feel of being in the jungle. There is a large clean pool which was enjoyable after a busy day. Overall the property was well kept. Rooms were well used but clean. Great shower....good hot water.
Cons: The restaurant was very poor. This property has bus tours coming through so I don't understand why the food couldn't be better. The four of us went into town to eat each day. Good restaurants in town.

7.0 Good

Cons: Nice old hotel that will need some refreshments. Employees never smile. Shower water very weak and difficult to adjust Pool is cold Food = average quality
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing, with macaws flying around. Beautiful pool and tropical gardens, short walking distance to Aluxes. Restaurant was average, but prices were fair and service was good. WiFi was working surprisingly well.
Cons: Weird layout of the bedroom... there was a potentially dangerous step on 1 side of the room that one might not notice (i know i tripped there several times before i eventually put a chair in front of it to remind myself it was there...).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, stuff, pool, wifi, etc pretty much everything

Cons: The pool facility looks better in the photos. Staff were not very hospitable.
7.1 Good
Pros: The restaurant can be much more better starting from the staff except just a few good waiters the rest looks bit unmotivated and not really willing to help. I felt really uncomfortable at the restaurant for the few times i use the facilities. No real choice for gluten free and menu just bit limited. The food instead was good and plentiful
Cons: We could spot wildlife directly at the hotel, the tropical garden and swimming pool were very enjoyable. the spa is definitely a plus. beds are comfortable. Check in is fast and they help you with your luggages. Very close to the archeological sites and town.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful surroundings and really quite place in the middle of the jungle. Very much value for money.
Cons: The staff at the restaurant could be a bit more chilled with cleaning the table while you are eating. Missing a snack bar. A bit expensive taxi service.

Pros: Pool was lovely. Grounds were lovely. Balcony was lovely. Nice and quiet5
Cons: Staff were slow at resturant. Food was very average. Bit of a hassle to get a taxi waiting game. Had lots of damp in our room and bathroom.

8.3 Excellent
Cons: Good money for what you get , however it seems that the place used to be the big thing , currently it is maintained to keep the thing "alive". There was a fire some years ago and some buildings remain damaged , this however doesnt affect you. Nice swimming pools, nice rooms for the price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good sized room, great pool area, very close to Palenque, nice grounds, nice staff.
Cons: They are up front about the repairs currently underway, and while it's odd to see parts of the facility trashed, as in no roofs on some of the Cabanas, it didn't detract from our stay. We liked the place, especially the morning and evening visits if the scarlet macaws. Way prettier than magpies!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large rooms, close proximity to the Palenque ruins. Very good value for the money when we stayed there.
Cons: The pool closest to us was small. The place is a bit noisy even at 1 AM when we arrived.
6.0 Good
Pros: Comfort private room with great ac and comfortable bed
Cons: The pillowcases had blood stains on them when we checked in and not very clean
7.9 Good
Pros: Huge resort with swimming pool and own restaurant and bar. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: There wasn't fridge in the room.
7.5 Good
Pros: This location is close to the Palenque ruins. It was quiet and peaceful. They also have facilities for large groups and celebrations.
Cons: The artwork in the room is not the best.
7.0 Good
Pros: good position between center and ruins, great restaurant
4.2 Okay
Pros: Best thing is location close to the ruins, but there are other places also close
Cons: Staff did not understand basics of hotel service - no towels in room, reception (although said to be 24 hrs) manned by security generally unable to process late arrivals
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Plaza Palenque Hotel & Convention Center in Palenque, you'll be in a national park and 13 minutes by car from Aluxes Eco Park. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
4.0 Okay
Pros: nice pool
Cons: This hotel is old and would definitely need upgrade. Bed is old, room smells humidity, irregular water pressure and burning hot or frigid cold at the same time. For a convention hotel, wifi that works would be a good idea. very far from the center
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, very nice pool areas.
Cons: Lacks charm and personality
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean, large rooms, airconditioned, there is a pool and parking and it’s close to a large super market. The staff is kind though the person at the reception did his best to speak English to us - he did not speak well enough to assist us with any questions or concerns (just beginner level English).
Cons: This Hotel could be nice and maybe it was once worth 4 stars. However, it is missing basic facilities and the level of attention you would expect from a hotel at this level. The rooms are very simple, bland and lack character and luxury. The beds are marketed as double beds but they are large single beds (120 cm in our room) so if you want to sleep comfortably be aware that it’s not suitable for more than 2 people (unfortunately for us, we were 3) the beds are also VERY hard. There is no lift or help with carrying your luggage and a lot of stairs. There is NO MINIBAR or fridge at the room. We went to the Chedraui to buy a coolbox and icecubes to keep our drinks cool. We reserved for 3 people, but got only 2 towels, 2 small bottles of water and 1 glass. there is only 1 chair in the room (thus lack of attention for details I was referring to). There is a balcony, but no chairs to sit and enjoy it. The internet is not secured and does not work properly most of the time. After cleaning our room, the dirty towels were taken away - but we had to wait over 2 hours for fresh towels (we discovered this after we got back from the pool and wanted to take a shower). When we called reception - we were told that our towels are in the dryer and we will get them in a few minutes (it took a couple of hours after the call to actually get new towels). The team also ignored the ‘do not disturb’ sign, and woke us up a couple of times. In short - if you are looking for a clean place to rest for a night, it’s ok. But if you expect any kind of special stay, or luxury you’d better look further. For this price there are better options in the area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I love everything
Cons: nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Nice hotel with an American layout and size, staff speaks English.
Cons: Pool is dirty and not well maintained. No acces to bar at the pool
7.5 Good
Pros: - nice and helpful staff - English speaking staff - nice and clean
Cons: - we were charged more than shown on booking
7.9 Good
Pros: Good service, nice room, beautiful swimming pool and relax zone. Good Wi-Fi connection. Very good food for breakfast and other meals! Very nice stuff at the restaurant. Highly recommended!
Cons: A bit noisy in the nights as the rooms don't have maybe thick walls.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel seemed like it had a good atmosphere. Our family did not stay in hotel long enough to enjoy the pool, which looked pretty inviting, fun. Everything was clean. We pretty much only spent the evenings there since we went on a couple of all-day tours. Staff was friendly. I would go back there again but this time enjoy all day relaxing stay in the hotel. There is a supermarket a couple of blocks away.
Cons: Hotel did not have a refrigerator nor coffee; used to this in the US; otherwise everything was great.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and clean hotel. Fair price. I would it recommend to my friends.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel!! Nice pool, comfortable rooms with great shower, nice restaurant, staff is super friendly, and on the main road of palenque. Would definitely recommend!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel with pool and spacious rooms. Just two blocks away from the streets with restaurants.
Cons: Room keys deactivate very easily.
7.0 Good
Pros: The pool was nice, and the location was ok. Not in the nicer part of town, but close to stores and street kitchens. The tours they offered were great, and at pretty competitive prices.
Cons: Only 1 person out of the entire staff spoke english, which was a bit difficult at times. Not that uncommon in Mexico, but still something you might want to consider. Would've been nice if the room had a minifridge to keep water and drinks cold.
7.0 Good
Pros: Attentative, helpful staff. Clean room, Swimming pool, Restaurant. Located next to Chedraui supermarket - very convenient.
Cons: Had very noisy neighbors - needed the assistance of Hotel staff twice to end a "room party" at 3:00 am.
7.9 Good
Pros: It was a decent hotel, good value for the money, would recomend it.
Cons: they demanded half of the money upfront, even though they had a credit card as a collateral and they demanded it 2 weeks after my booking. I dont mind paying up front but that ussualy comes with a discount!
5.0 Okay
Pros: It was within walking distance to square
Cons: Full of soccer teams running and yelling in the halls all day, all nights , every , late , didn’t matter . Staff did nothing to deter if not encouraged the behaviour . Breakfast was continental and too small for a hotel of that size.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It is a very nice hotel, quite new and very clean. I also liked the design in general. It is located right next to a big supermarket and 400 m away from the bus station.
Cons: Be aware that the hotel charges an advance to your credit card after you book. It can be a little loud at night. Especially if children decide to play the marimba standing in the lobby at 11 at night or 7:30 in the morning.
Hotel Canada Internacional - Palenque - Building

8.2 Excellent (692 reviews)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very comfortable facility. Also well maintained, very clean, good sense of security.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was good. Reception staff was nice, smiling. A/C was ok. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Barely anyone spoke English (1 person if you were lucky she was on duty). Room was specious but rather poorly equipped - 2 beds, 2 chairs and little table, TV. No wardrobe, no phone, no safe. No restaurant in the hotel. For breakfast you need to work to small restaurant close by (50m)-obviously no one speaks English. Remember to take vouchers from reception because they are not going to remind you. On Monday that restaurant is closed so we were walked to another hotel restaurant - about 5min walk. Good thing about that was, it was much better hotel and the breakfast buffet was really good. On arrival we got the room which wasn't ready so we needed to ask for another one.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location is stellar. Very good AC. Enormous and comfortable beds. Fantastic value for money.
Cons: WiFi reception wasn't the best in our room, but this is just nitpicking, really...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Simple, affordable rooms with AC. Super close to ADO bus station and all the restaurants.
Cons: Only feedback on the room, would be that the bathroom could use a bath mat. The swimming pool didn't look too clean so we didn't swim.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice rooms, comfortable. Nice staff. Luggage storage. Arrived early to drop baggage and allowed to check in right away, which was quite convenient. Across the street from ADO bus stop
Cons: A/C had some issue, only working on one setting (likely just on that one room) - a bit too cold to leave on constantly but got too hot with it off.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: we arrived about 8 hours before official check-in time but were already allowed in.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great, a short walk from colectivos. The hotel had AC. Some of the staff was extremely friendly.
Cons: Room was not as clean as expected for the number of stars and price. There was a pill from the previous guest on the floor as well as other dirt. We were at the top of the hotel and the water pressure was almost non-existent. The road noise was so bad, it seemed like there we were out in the open which of course we were not. Wifi was very poor in the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was confortable, spacious and very clean.
Cons: The hotel didn’t have elevator and they didn’t offer to take ower bags to the room. It happens that the hotel has strange stairs design which makes it more dificult to carry the bags. We asked to use a bathroom after check out to change clothes and they only had available the swimmingpool toilet that was disgusting.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Hot water pressure is good. Bed was comfortable. Great location close to Ado bus station, collectivos for the ruins, and restaurants/cafes.
Cons: WiFi is unstable at best. Netflix and youtube don't work on the TV due to the poor Internet connection. Very loud car noise due to hotel being on the main road, so is difficult to sleep at night. Staff seemed uninterested in being there, no courtesy like please and thank yous. Doesn't do laundry service.

6.0 Good
Cons: Dark in rooms, they should put one strong light
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and fresh. We had the breakfast included and for what you pay for it it’s great. And a beautiful and refreshing pool. We loved our stay there. Thank you.
Cons: Since its a bit in the middle of the jungle would be nice to have a fridge in the room so you can keep your drinks or snacks.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money, nice rooms, beautiful area.
Cons: No hammoks, food not very interesting, but there is an very good Italian restaurant near by. Tours to expensive, you better book them in town.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, great pool, great room with balcony and views to the pool, super comfy bed, great shower, very nice staff and restaurant.
Cons: The bathroom is a little outdated.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nice swimming pool
Cons: Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Don’t trust the taxis early morning. No atmosphere. Food very average. The room was dark and not clean. Flush didn’t work.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were really nice, the pool is a great way to refresh and relax. I loved the landscaping, all the tropical plants and flowers. It's very close to archaeological site and also from the main town Palenque. The beds are pretty comfortable and the air conditioning cools down pretty good
Cons: The staff from the restaurant and bar were not very helpful. We were there for 2 days and both days we waited to be helped at the restaurant even though the waiter saw we were at the table. One of us had to go approach the staff and asked for menus. The food and portions were not that great for the price.
6.0 Good
Pros: Cabins are in the jungle, giving you nice views. The accommodation is next to a great Italian restaurant (Monte Verde) with very kind staff. Beds are comfortable and the private balconee is nice to sit (with your own beer and snacks).
Cons: All of the following can be read in previous reviews of other people, but the accommodation really doesn't do anything about it. Just spend as little time as possible near the staff, and bring your own snacks and beers, the staff doesn't care anyway. Most of the staff are unkind and really uninterested. They are visibly bothered when you want to order something or want help at the reception, because they have to put their smartphones away to actually do something for paying customers, let alone work! Even a simple greeting is too much to ask. Many items on the menu were not available. When ordered, the staff only said "no". Not an apology that the item is not available, just an unkind "no". Sunbeds at the not-so-clean swimming pool would be convenient. WiFi is only at the reception, while there is WiFi available in the rooms. For some reason the password for this other network is not shared by the selfish staff. Music is played way too loud at the bar, and songs are continuously being skipped halfway through. Really annoying.
El Colombre - Palenque - Building

7.4 Good (227 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Offering extensive gardens with an outdoor pool, this family-run farm is set in the jungle just 4 km from the stunning Mayan temples of Palenque National Park. El Colombre is 4 km from Palenque town. The charming cottages offer rustic décor with palapa-style roofs. Each one includes a desk, fan, mosquito net and a private bathroom with a shower. El Colombre's restaurant serves natural homemade meals, made with organic ingredients whenever possible. You can help to collect eggs from the chickens, make cheese or pick vegetables from the garden. You can also find local restaurants in Palenque town. Activities such as yoga lessons and meditation can be arranged at El Colombre. Guests can relax in hammocks next to the pool, or borrow a bicycle to explore the surrounding area. Staff are happy to give recommendations on what to see and do in the surrounding area. The bus station is 20 minutes’ drive away, while Villahermosa International Airport is 2 hours’ drive away.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location is great as well as the surrounding nature and animals: horses, dogs and iguanas. We wish we had known there were horses just behind our cabaña.
Cons: We wish we had had some more contact with the staff. Unfortunately, the Lady who owns the place was Not there when we arrived as She is definitely the Most welcoming person of the guesthouse. Also, we left our towels on the floor to be changed as they were dirty, but they were put back by the staff.
6.7 Good
Pros: The nature around is amazing. Also the girls working in the kitchen are very friendly and atentive
Cons: The matresses where quite old. The food was tasty, but the portions where extremely small considering the high price, and would not always match what stood on the menu. Also the restaurang is open only for breakfast and dinner only, so if you just want to chill at the resort, you are going to get hungry. Bring some snacks! Self catering facilities and functioning bicykles would be awsome
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First I like the location the food Iask for was well prepare and delicious wekup in the morning and fill and admire the look like if I stay in the jungle I recommend the future tourist to visit and stay on this cabanas
Cons: I leave in blank because everting like me
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything! I arrived in the early evening feeling extremely unwell and Alfonsina completely looked after me. Made me feel welcome and gave and some tea and a drink to help me feel better. Breakfast is delicious and healthy. The room was amazing.. listening to wild animals laying on a very comfortable clean crisp double bed. I used the pool the next day ans had all facilities to myself.. amazing wildlife around also. I had a delicious dinner prepared there. Do not hesitate to book this place. It's a unique and very special experience in Palenque to sleep amongst wilderness.
Cons: Just a normal sized towel in the room but thats being picky!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jungle, pool, cabanas all good
Cons: Shame that the bikes were broken, it’s a bit isolated
4.0 Okay
Pros: There was a bed in the room, it was comfortable. General staff were kind and helpful. Not management.
Cons: We were given the room above the kitchen. We could see through the floorboards to the kitchen.. consequently we got to hear and smell everything happening in the kitchen.. at 6.30am every morning we were woken up by the microwave, blender, cat meowing (it sleeps on top of the microwave). When we asked to move we were told, by management’ if you don’t like it find somewhere else’. My lasting memory of this place is the sound of the microwave.
7.1 Good
Pros: The area and the surroundings were awesome. Very much love in rustic-Style details. If you have a chance to stay here prefer staying in the cabins not in the house. Food is simple but tasty. Staff is nice.
Cons: The matress

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, excellent restaurant on site, and several nice restaurants nearby. Spacious rooms, excellent AC, very friendly and helpful staff.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We just loved our stay here. Lots of reviews say don't stay in Palenque, just do the ruins and get out but we had a lovely stay. This hotel is in "the hotel zone" on Canada Ave and is between the highway with the main bus depot and the actual town of Palenque. It is cobblestone streets, big leafy trees, boutique hotels and restaurants. It was a haven. The town of Palenque is NOT the highway, you can walk to the other end of our zone and it takes you into the actual bustling, thriving little town. We felt safe, were not bothered, felt very relaxed. p.s. for the fellow from Michigan who said you can't get iced coffee in Mexico, we all enjoyed the best frappacino's on our street! We also enjoyed a bit of loafing by the pool with cold drinks. Just loved our stay.
Cons: Lots of greenery around, lots of plant debris floats into the pool; could have been a bit more proactive cleaning it out. All organic stuff, not a big issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 1 Good location. Not far from the bus station. 2 Nice staff. We took a night bus and arrived at 7:00 am; they let us check in right away. The staff also showed us where to take the collective bus (20 pesos) to Palenque National Park. 3 lt costs 150 pesos from the hotel to the airport.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful 4*** hotel room, standard size, very clean. Beautiful and peaceful atmosphere. Nice bathroom. Pool area looked great too. Super King size bed was ginormous! 2 of the days during our stay were a buffet breakfast, so then we got to have the buffet! Wasn't huge, but pretty good with lots of options. :)
Cons: Downside was kids playing in the pool at the weekend being loud, and so I didn't get to go and enjoy it myself, since I wanted something peaceful. Also I thought I booked a pool view, not a tree and car park view from our balcony. Oh well, didn't matter too much. It was peaceful and quiet :) Also the restaurant wasn't amazing. We pre-booked breakfast every morning, with the impression we could choose from the menu each day. However the prepaid breakfast coupons were just for the American-Mexican breakfast, so it was a set menu and we couldn't have different things each day (except when the buffet was available).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Central clean and comfortable.
Cons: Perfect place when travelling with kids
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and friendly

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort type environment. Spacious room.
Cons: Too many insects crawling on the floor. Terrible to see some spiders which are quite big in size. The bed sheet and pillow cover are not clean enough. I can see some dirty stains on them.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable
Cons: The howler monkeys woke me up too early
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed, staff, the river
Cons: view from the room (construction site)
6.3 Good
Pros: its next to the arch. site the Forest
Cons: no hair dryer (4*!!) the staff could hardly speak english the natural pool looked quite good but very difficult to go in the other pool was too small (3 children were playing in it)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool is great next to the jungle (you can see monkeys). The view from the restaurant over the balneario is really nice. 10minutes by car from the archeological site.
Cons: The beds are not very comfortable. The small patio of our room was not very clean and with no chairs therefore quite unusable. No mosquito net.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location on the river was wonderful. Swimming in the river was a delight. The staff was really great and super helpful the whole time. The location was great too enjoyed our stay.
7.1 Good
Pros: If you need a break between bus travel, the Nututum is a very relaxing hotel with a nature pool for swimming. You even get a massage and feel fresh to travel further. Breakfast has many options.
Cons: It is outside, so you need a taxi all the time.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Restaurant food was good and the restaurant staff were excellent.
Cons: Extremely loud music playing both evenings we stayed, the music could be heard across the whole of the premises and the windows in our bathroom we're stuck open so it was very loud in our room. The first night they turned off the music around 9pm but the second night it continued until at least 11pm. On top of this the hotel accommodates large groups, making plenty of noise until late at night, screaming and partying. There are reviews talking about how relaxing this hotel is, and hearing the local wildlife. This was not our experience at all as the loud music prevented us from relaxing and we didn't hear any wildlife at all. On top of this, there was no hot water in the shower and the shower head didn't spray the water. The drain was also blocked so the whole bathroom floor flooded. On check in, the staff charged a card I used to confirm the booking and would not allow me to pay with cash or a different card. The staff didn't seem to recognise any issue with any of our complaints, unaware there was a problem.

Cons: No window in the room but this seems standard in Mexico.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything in this hotel and Palenque: friendly people, wonderful atmosphere, the location of the hotel -- everything was great! It is one of the best hotels in Palenque, to my mind!!!
Cons: i liked everything!!!!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great value/price ratio. It's right next to a big cheap supermarket. We could leave our backpacks there of our last they of our stay and pick them up after our tour (around 8pm). 5-10 minutes walk to ADO bus station, 15 min walk to the center (there is not much to see though).
Cons: Nothing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Fresh water in our room daily plus water fountain The pool is very small but it was clean and I really enjoyed using it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Cheap, clean, friendly staff. Pool for kids was great in the crazy heat
7.1 Good
Pros: Arrived in early morning and could checkin early. Appreciated this a lot
Cons: No safety box, No fridge in room. Strange that there is NO ice provided! It is so hot here! We need to buy a 5kg bag of ice (no other size) and keep at their freezer, and asked for ice whenever we need. Very strange indeed!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very helpful and helps you storage your luggage even if you check out already. Thank you guys!
Cons: Lack of Amenities In the room, work on your check in time , we went to some waterfalls to kill time but it would of been really nice to have your room in an earlier time.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the people are amazing. This place has HEART and you can feel it! Lots of restaurants close by and palenque archeological sight is super close! I actually enjoyed the energy better than Palenque itself. Carlos was even so nice to get me fresh cacao beans from the marker which I had been looking for everywhere in mexico (and surprisingly hard to find). Also the breakfast is amazing and I booked a last minute massage which was in this magical location. Would stay again!
Cons: I like to sleep with my windows open instead of airconditioning or fan. Because there is no screen that was a bit hard. Perhaps an idea for the future :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super host and everything was perfect. We liked it very mutch and recomend it for everybudy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a so called auto motel where you park you car in a garage from where you directly step into your room. Our room was spacious with a kingsize bed, jacuzzi, lounge chair and a fridge. Wifi and A/C worked well. The jacuzzi/shower and bedroom is basically in the same space so that is something to take into account if you are travelling with a friend or anyone else than your partner. The hotel has everything you need but the real reason you should stay there is to meet Carlos the owner. He has decades of experience in hospitality and knows exactly what he is doing. He is creating a traveller's haven really close to Palenque. I especially loved the tropical garden and breakfast area (which is super tasty by the way). Because of the low season discount we received Hotel Paraiso Inn had the highest price-quality ratio of all the hotels we stayed in during our 4 week trip in Mexico.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Carlos the owner - very charming man who has put a lot of love into this place The breakfast - great coffee, unusual, very fresh sweet bread and the BEST fruit of our entire trip The bed - very large and comfortable Jungle setting
Cons: The water pressure in the shower in the evening was non existent Bit out of town. I was worried about driving back into town for dinner at night, but it was fine
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked pretty much everything! Yes. The garden, the remote location in nature, sounds of the jungles and animals around, super friendly and helpful staff, clean room and comfy bed! We also upgraded our room to the one that has a jacuzzi inside, enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet place with great service and lots of privacy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Carlos is a very friendly, charming and helpful host. Lovely breakfast and very secure when travelling with a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Carlos has almost 30 years of hospitality experience and you can feel it from the second you arrive at this cute, jungle-surrounded guesthouse. We didn’t feel like it was a touristy hotel, more of a family run, extremely clean and very neat apartment far away from civilisation. Definitely a great choice for nature lovers and peace seekers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, patient, helpful staff. Spacious room. Nice setup to park our car below and walk up the inside stairs to our room. It happened to rain on our last day, so packing the car was a breeze in the covered garage. The location was nice for when we finished at the Palenque archeological site and museum. The breakfast was described as ‘continental,’ but so much *better than* just stale pastries and bad coffee. Big bowls of freshly cut fruit, yogurt, pan dulce (sweet bread), good coffee and a great setting under cover and in the trees. One week into our 2 week trip we arrived and were allowed to do a load of laundry here, which was an awesome opportunity.
Cons: Difficult to complain about this place, so I’ll say that it’s well defined as an auto hotel because it’s not a quick walk from anything but the jungle (we didn’t mind at all).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was just great for us! Carlos was super friendly and helpful. He showed us everything and you could really feel how much passion he has for the amazing area around the hotel. Also the room was really nice and clean. The Breakfast was a good start in the day, especially the regional fruits. Thanks for the good time and kind regards. Elisa and Mirko

Pros: The front staff and most of the restaurant staff were very nice and helpful. The pool was great.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and excellent staff.
7.0 Good
Pros: Sizeable room, good location, welcoming & helpful staff
Cons: Everything needed a bit of TLC & modernisation (of course whilst retaining its quirky charm)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Terrific place to stay. Everything was wonderful, private, secluded, and beautiful. Loved the natural beauty of the property and the rooms were perfectly decorated and very comfortable. All of the staff were top notch, but Gilberto and Misaell were exceptional. The owner is very personable and knowledgeable about the area - took time to talk with guests about the property and its history. Our flight was canceled and they arranged a driver for us for a 10 hour trip. Can’t say enough good things about the property and the people there. Thank you for a wonderful experience! And thank you, Sergio, for that drive to Chichen Itza!
Cons: That we only booked 2 days here. If you are there for the ruins, book an extra day just to hang out on the property. They will take excellent care of you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every thing about this place was great and even the owner who told us lots about Mayan history
7.0 Good
Cons: Breakfast was inadequate and excessively sugary. No protein, only fruit and sweetbread. No option of a healthy breakfast or a substantial breakfast. The least satisfactory breakfast experience of a three week tour of Mexico.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Courteous staff — proactive and helpful but discreet. Helpful owner, excellent restaurant with varied menu. Beautiful pool and grounds.
Cons: Liked everything.
7.0 Good
Pros: One of the very best, swimming pools "in nature" one could ever imagine! several beautiful pools situated in a well planned but natural looking jungle, we heard the howler monkey family and saw many birds! The main welcome structure is a huge Mayan sort of "tower" of reeds and bamboo. The mattress was excellent! my friend and I shared it and it was perfect for the two of use. The shower was BIG and had tons of great hot water and water pressure. Our large room had its own terrace with oversize chairs. It was super super quiet and there are only a few rooms here so it was a restful place to stay. The owner came to talk to us each day at our table and is passionate about the local indigenous culture and monuments. We loved the handmade soap in the bathroom and that a hairdryer was already there we did not have to ask for it. Sparkling clean! The natural part of the premises was so very beautiful! There were some really interesting old woven pieces as the artwork in our room and in the dining and reception that were very nicely chosen, beautiful, ceramics and such. The owner being both German and Italian spoke many languages and the dinner menu included cuisine from these places. We loved the dumplings and ordered them twice at dinner. Very ample breakfast.
Cons: There was one waiter who acted in an exaggerated way in order to ingratiate himself to us and actually stood at our table the last day saying that "this was his last shift" and hint hint we needed to leave him a tip. This was unpleasant. The AC unit when in high was very noisy. The light switches were really confusing and the room was overlit: also the fixtures themselves were all of different style types which broke the overall aesthetic in this hotel. The food was "OK" but a bit expensive we felt. There were no screens so you did not have an option to sleep in the normal night temperature. We did see in the photos when we booked that the place was kind of a Palenque "wonderland" in that there is a fake Palenque style tower on the premises and that the buildings are ornamented heavily with sculpted ornament. Some people might really love this, but as artists we found it a bit kitsch. Also the furniture in general was dark, very heavy in look and "Tiki" in flavor and seemed the size for very tall men, not for women of 5' in height: our bathroom sink was almost at shoulder height.

The air-conditioned rooms include a ceiling fan and a terrace with garden views. The bathrooms are private and come with shower and free toiletries. This property is 20 minutes’ drive from Misol-Ha and Agua Azul Waterfalls. Villahermosa International Airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes’ drive away and Palenque Local Airport is 10 minutes’ drive away.
5.4 Okay
Pros: It is within walking distance of palenque ruins, that’s the only plus point of this dated hotel. Service was dreadful, the ‘restaurant’ only serves breakfast and 3 simple options for lunch. It is closed in the evenings and a taxi ride into town is needed for anything. Being close to the ruins is good, but there are many other hotels near the ruins, stay in one of these.
Cons: Let’s not start, let’s just say I was glad when I left. Palenque ruins were good to see, not this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay at Casa Lakyum. It is a real jungle experience, we loved the pool, the views, the hammock at the patio and the sounds of the nature that were constantly coming from the jungle. Before our arrival the hotel helped to organise our transfers too (and the driver Eduardo was fantastic! ).
Cons: Unfortunately the restaurant does not serve any dinner. Also the receptionist wasn't really the chatty type with many recommendations.
6.7 Good
Pros: The steering is beautiful and it’s amazing being at the swimming pool with all the trees around you.
Cons: The staff essentially cannot be bothered so the service is below average.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else - big, clean room with huge window and balcony looking out onto the forest, lovely pool, great setting, an agouti in the front garden.
Cons: We included payment for breakfast in our booking but for US $15 we got the 'booking.com breakfast', as the waiter called it, of just toast, fruit and one cup of coffee (although we did manage to persuade them to give us a second cup). If we'd paid for breakfast separately, this would have cost us US $5. Will not be including breakfast in any more booking.com bookings. I suspect this is more of a booking.com problem than the fault of the hotel - the hotel felt good and I can't imagine they'd want this kind of rip off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large clean room. Huge veranda. Gorgeous view. Refreshing pool. Quiet except for the howler monkeys but that’s a plus. Stayed 3 nights. Don’t want to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, eco friendly, understated, charming. Well positioned for the ruins.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting with a lovely view, beautiful grounds and tasty food. Also very convenient to reach Palenque archaeological sites.
