Supplier choice

The supplier choice is apparently an EV even though I didn’t select the EV option. They require you to bring the car back charged. For a one day rental to the airport, that is not realistic. I was also charged for gas, which I had stopped near the airport and filled up. I eventually got a credit but the whole thing was a hassle and didn’t leave me feeling good about renting from Budget in the future.

Full-size SUV

Pick up process was ridiculous. I'm not exaggerating--standing outside (not in any type of building or cover) for 56 minutes while they tried to figure out rentals for myself and 7 other customers. Ended up just giving me a size up, was not cleaned well, didn't have record of what fuel level was at, and staff spoke all of 3 words to me. I saw the poor reviews at this location and figured, how bad can it be? Yes I got my vehicle and it worked fine, but the entire pick up and drop off experience was horrible and I do not plan to rent from this brand at this airport again.

Supplier choice

Pick up was excellent, but returning/drop off was confusing and poor. if you have hybrid, EV the battery should be charged so we’re not using gas!!!

Convertible

We arrived at the desk and the booking process forced us to book under the same name as the card we wanted to use to pay. That meant we were not able to change the driver we wanted to have on the booking and they said they couldn't amend that and made us pay extra for it. The car was old, wasn't cleaned, and the staff generally were rude when we picked up the car. I've used sixt before and they were good but this time we were extremely disappointed.

Intermediate SUV

We were given a very scratched up car and there were not any other options. It made me a bit disappointed because I am a loyal Alamo customer and I often have great experiences. Also I checked in ahead of time, but there was no express check-in available, which I understand is not available everywhere, but it was still a lengthier process than expected to get our car.

Compact SUV

Europcar now requires an international driver’s license for US license holders - this was not advertised anywhere and almost caused a total disaster for our trip. Kayak needs to do a better job making this requirement clear if it applies.

I rented a Mercedes because comfort was the number one priority. It wasn’t disclosed anywhere that I would need two different types of credit cards, so Europcar downgraded my car to some Italian car comparable to an Hyundai and did not adjust the price.
