Went to Excellence Riviera Cancun for the fourth time and wasn't disappointed as usual. Great service, nice restaurants options and great location. You can walk alone the beach to the nearby town Puerto Morelos 40 min, you can take a multiple tours from the resort if you want to explore the area. Pros (+) Everything was great, nice size - not too large and not too small. All there staff were very pleasant and accommodating. They strive for the best in customer satisfaction.
Cons (-) Every now and then I could smell stagnant water in the water displays next to the buildings

Pros (+) The facility and people were generally really good. Very compatible to other resorts my wife and I have bee to in the Riviera Maya. This is our 9th trip to Riviera Maya and I believe when most people say this place is top of line they have not been to to many others. You can go to several other hotels and get 100% of what you want, not 90%.
Cons (-) If you like the beach and ocean, then do not go to this resort. Simply horrible! It's a shame because it really is a nice resort but the ocean water is not much better the the New Jersey shore. Very disappointing. You will not even want to go in the water with all the algae and sea weed. If you are strictly a pool person, you will be fine. We will not go back simply due to this issue. We have been...

Pros (+) The room was amazing, as well as the rest of the facility. Everything as clean and easily accessible. The staff was helpful and polite. The stars visibility made you never want to leave.
Cons (-) The food was just ok at most of the restaurants.

Pros (+) I loved the room, the restaurants, the pools, the beach, and the ambiance. I had a great time with my friends. Everything was easily accessible.
Cons (-) The only things I didn't like was the inconsistency of the service. When we ordered drinks it was always a surprise what we would get based on the waiter or waitress taking the order. Some servers were friendlier than others. Also, the Wifi and cell service was VERY bad. If you need to communicate with the outside world, you shouldn't stay there.

Pros (+) I was actually semi dreading this trip based on past Mexico experiences, but I ended up having an amazing time. The food, room, staff, everything was perfect. Will definitely go back some day.
Cons (-) This resort had no control over this...but the ocean was brown from algea! Was not able to spend any time on the beach! They did have a tractor trying to pick it up but there was too much.
