Quiet, relaxing, easy to deal with, comfortable
Staff were very friendly and accomodating of late check out Taxi took 1 hour to arrive at hotel and found a stray hair in the bed
Ambience and location
Lovely old heritage building and period furniture added to the charm. Rooms were very clean with the added touch of small kitchen facilities.
It was our honeymoon and it was close to our reception and it was in a classic style.
Location close to public transport to Bondi Junction shopping and a short ride, distance and time, to the airport.
The hotel receptionist I believe was called George went out of his way to help u's with a late check out and kept our bags safe as we were not flying until late that evening. He was exceptionally friendly and helpful and is a credit to the hotel.
Proximity from NSWU none
cost and location parking
Close proximity to shops, transport and Coogee Beach. Room size was small, no parking facilities and well over priced.
Nice, green neighborhood, fairly clean and spacey rooms. Helpful staff. Good value for money. Huge room and very tiny 10" or so TV, so if somebody is into TV would be an issue ;)
The venue was clean and easy to find, being within easy distance of cafe and bus routes.
They were very friendly staff. no
Quiet central location in Randwick.Close to beach, shops, restaurants.Good size room and lovely court yard.
The room was spacious and clean, the en-suite was reasonable to good standard, the ambience of the hotel was like a high quality backpacker. The internet room description stated that a microwave oven was included. In fact the microwave was in a small kitchen type room up two flights of stairs!! In my view, this is a trade description abuse.
Convenient location, nice suburb, easy parking. Hot water not quite hot enough
Very clean and tidy... and it wasn't haunted.....
It was quiet, most of the time (except for Sunday night, after league final and with public holiday Monday) and we enjoyed the location with the gardens, trees and variety of birds. The smell of the cigarette smoke came in through the open windows form the courtyard so you could smell it as soon as you came in the front door. Also, would have liked hooks or rails to hang damp towels on.
Very close to university, very kind people. I booked a wrong room which was changed without extra fees. Uncomfotable bed. Very limited facilities.
easy access to the city centre.
It was very convienient to what we had planned for the w/e. close to public transport, shops and the wonderful beaches. thank you room a bit small, but that was ok, we only needed it to sleep.
Lodge is located close to shopping centre and cafes, so finding a place to eat at was no problem. Within walking distance of beach and easy to source local transport. Rooms on lower level was a bit small.
Location was good, a quick 15-20 minute bus ride into central Sydney I found Sydney rather expensive for accomodation, that is if you don't head for the hostels etc. At £62 per night in the shoulder season I wouldn't say this was value for money but in fact it is one of the cheaper hotels i came across in my searches.
Great hotel for a night or two, had fridge, kettle, toaster and sink in room. Fairly good value for money.
Room well equipt. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Close to local eateries and not too far to the beach. Public transport easily accessible. Lack of full length mirror in room
Location to the Sydney Children's Hospital and local eating places, very friendly and helpful staff member. Lack of parking - advertised there was parking - when there was only 2 spaces - Luckily we got one! The rooms weren't cleaned whilst there.
It is close to the Googee Beach and UNSW. The room is little bit small, but very comfortable and clean. The reception is very kind and helpful.
friendliness of manager and cleanliness of room would be nice to have disability ramp at front of building without having to enter by rear access- but also realize there may be some heritage restrictions in place to prevent this-otherwise great place.
proximity to UNSW for meeting, relatively cheap, relatively quiet, helpful staff, comfortable bed, heritage value of building TV too small
Checking out! Room was small like a prison cell. Beds are metal framed. Bathroom is tiny. tv is very old and chained to the wall! There is no hair dryer, no iron (except in laundry room on ground floor), no toiletries, no kettle. Wifi is very expensive. Only rubbishy fast food outlets nearby. They charge a ridiculous $6 aud one way for shuttle bus - you can walk to the domestic terminal, it takes 5 minutes.
no coffee/tea facilities, no toiletries, very poor standard, very basic, not what was expected. Only good side was convenience to airport.
It's very convenient to the Sydney airport; otherwise nothing too special. If you just want somewhere to stay before an early flight, it fits the bill, though staying near Central Station or Redfern would be almost as convenient. They really nickel-and-dime you: charging for wifi, for breakfast ($12 is way too much for what they provide, even in Sydney) and charging for a shuttle for the airport. I hate it when hotels do that.
Very convenient to Airport we only stayed one night more than happy to stay again, compact room, helpful staff.
Quite close to the airport Small room the fire alarm ringed at 5am
Cheap tariff. Very comfortable bed. Easy to drive to from Canberra. Very handy to airport. Relatively easy access to bus service to City. Flexible about check-out time (11am was fine with them).
Convenience to SYD airport Walls too thin. Able to hear everyone else using their toilets all through the night.
At least it is clean Too many Staff was rude and incompetent - gave me the wrong room number n key card A silly design in shower causes false fire alarm easily Bed is not fixed but on wheels Make sure you have the right rate as one for day and one for overnight
close to airport and very quite actually
My room smelled, was tiny, and there was no privacy out my window which faced across the parking lot to a busy Krispy creme.
Close to airport The room and bathroom needed a good cleaning. Room was minuscule , bed and pillow disappointing and hallway dark dingy and dirty. Glad I couldn't sleep and went to eat at mcdonalds.
The Ibis Budget Hotel is close to the airport and there are a lot of fast food restaurants nearby. You can park in front of the hotel for 15$ per night. If you're taking a shower the whole floor of the bathroom gets wet, very inconvenient. There were a lot of ants in our room, but we got a new room with the same problem. I recommend to stay only one night if you really have to.
Location was great, hotel was clean, very nice room, better than I thought, I booked a twin but got 2 queen beds, was a beautiful room was next to the staff laundry or tea room or something which was very loud on sat morning
The proximity to all sydney has to offer. The staff were very helpful.
good service and very friendly staff no
Very nice hotel, rooms were very nice. Friendly staff and very helpfull. I would certainly recommend this hotel. The second and third level have a pool area, this can be quite loud.
Quiet. Had a lanai. comfortable. Narrow halls and not a user friendly lift
Clean, quiet and safe (close to police station). Staff weren't very friendly. Do not refill soaps every day. Location is not good (about 15 minutes from the central station). Although it was our honeymoon we did not get even a congratulation card (and was suggested to purchase an upgrade in full price). Breakfast was very poor.
It has the perfect location, close to everything, we can even view a part of the Sydbey Opera house from our balcony. Everything you need is just a few minutes walk away. All in all it was great.
The reservation of priceline was not in the system in the hotel. Only after the good staff at the hotel we could get our room
Mainly the location and the fact that there was parking eventhough it was a bit tight for medium size sedans and anythig bigger The meals were budget and reflected as much in the flavor
Nice setting and good for access to coastal walks and Sidney centre. Right next to bus route. Booked room with sea view. Did have a lovely sea view but our view on second floor was obscured by trees so would go for a higher floor if you pay the high tarrif for the view, and our immediate view was of public car park.
The location and price were excellent.I was pleased with the parking provided by the Hotel.
It is convenient and close to buses to get into the city and is very comfortable The shower is a bit antiquated and tired looking.
Location to university. Very honest staff after accidentally leaving my gold necklace in my room it was still there when I returned from the city
Easy to access with covered drive-in entry and valet parking. Friendly efficient staff. There was a discrepancy at checkout but this was rectified. The room booked sleeps 3 with the booking clearly stating the price is for 3. I was originally charged extra. They claimed that the on line site was misleading. While the 3rd bed was made up there was no extra towel, blanket or cutlery for the third person. Low level lighting with no makeup lighting. Would still stay there again.
the design of the rooms we booked online for 3 people for $239 and when we went to the counter she charged us $274est and didnt have a reason why.I feel like we were trying to be ripped off
the location was great - such a short walkf from Central Station. The place was nice and tidy and cosy and the staff at the bar were very friendly. one of the towels were soiled that was fiven to us as a new one.. and the surrounding pool area wasnt very clean. Also the treadmill at the gym wasnt working and there wasnt enough ventilation in the room.
Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Nothing.... Everything was to the standard we were expecting.
staff were friendly, helpful. room was clean and tidy. close to central station so easy to get around. the pillows were abit on the hard side.. other than that was good.
Mark and the young woman whose name I can't remember (started with a z I think) were so helpful and knowledgeable. The ambiance was great - very low key, funky decor - great. Loved George! 2Nd room small not enough light and the bathroom was too small
The excellent rooms and friendliness of the staff, it was like staying in a large friendly house.
We loved the overall feel and vibe of the hotel. It was in between a traditional hotel experience and a bed and breakfast. There are 2 dogs roaming about, we had breakfast at a single table with other guests and each of the rooms was different and unique.
The friendliness of the afternoon/evening staff; the breakfast/dining area with communal table, choices of coffees and flexible access to breakfast/snacks, and daily papers; location so close to the beach with the sounds of the sea at night; spacious room & bathroom. Bedroom was a little dark, bed was quite hard- would be better with a mattress top added
This is a very friendly and hospitable small hotel. We liked the pleasant and helpful approach of all the staff and we would definately stay there again. All together, a very enjoable and relaxed experience.
The breakfast options where great :) Our rooms where a little nosiy but nothing too major
The atmosphere of good design coupled with the pleasant staff and the pets Nothig
Friendly Staff. Staff pets- dog and cat. Close to beach and restaurants.
Relaxing atmosphere and good hosts No
personal service and attention No, it's fine
the big room & balcony
Convenience of getting to Randwick Racecourse. Room service for dinner was very good. No problem getting a late checkout. We stayed in the boutique rooms which are at the back of the hotel and not affected by the noise of the hotel so much. Nothing really.
Loved the location, loved you couldn't hear noise from pub, loved that my friends room was connected and that we could open our doors and share our space but could also be completely separated and lock our doors too. Love we were so close to the beach and a big choice of restaurants and still close to the city. Really nice standard of room. It met and was above my expectations for a 4 star hotel. no complaints at all!
I am a regular visiror to the Coogee Bay Hotel & stay there for the location/beach & budget room in the Heritage Part
We arrived early due to our flights, and intended to just leave our bags until we could check in but they were able to check us in straight away. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great with the beach and great places to eat just around the corner.
The fact it was close to the city. The staff were great and the breakfast was great too.
Good location near central station and transport facilities, shops and bars.
Location was ok My second night I had no power in my room and the staff were not helpful at all !!
Handy to railway station, markets, china town The floor was wet because people came in dripping from the rain outside, ramp was very slippery almost slid over.
New room was great Price for new year stay, on going renovation
The proximity to transport was great.
Location Staff Shower head was rain shower so not a great deal of pressure Wifi although free was very slow
central location, free internet (3 hrs/day), clean modern rooms would have preferred wifi in rooms, only ethernet broadband available
very convinient location front desk was under staffed during our stay. waited for 15 minutes to check-out
The lovely big bed and the movies Sauna was not accessible
Being able to get around the city without to much hussle. Having coffee and something to eat without going to far away from the hotle. The one day of rain but it did not slow us down that much.
convienience to everything restaurant & bar not open sun nights , little difficult with kids to find a place to eat & have a drink, other than chinese / macdonalds
Reasonable location - good bus connections Extremely basic accommodation for a "boutique" hotel. Room was single size with double bed
very cute boutique type hotel, modern rooms, great position for market shopping the unique combination of older style building with modern style
Handy for transport very close to Central station, monorail, bus routes. Walking distance to Darling Harbour - good shopping nearby. A little noisy, especially from the cafe/bar area but this did not detract from our stay.
The location of the hotel and the staff
not much tv shower view (another wall) no draws or chairs small bathroom sink but nowhere to put your toiletries.excessive outside noise.
The staff was EXCELLENT! Every person I interacted with at the desk was professional, friendly, and helpful. I think the lounge is over another restaurant and the aromas from that restaurant were a bit strong. But that was MINOR compared to the location, staff, cleanliness and interesting architecture of the bldg.
The close proximity to city centre and transport systems. Easy access to restaurants. Security system employed by the hotel especially after 10pm. Being near the city centre noise was inevitable but was very intrusive at times. Shouting and screaming by young people leaving clubs in the early hours was a problem most nights. Work on a tower block across George Street was also a problem after the Easter break had finished.
There is one lady who is extreamly mean at the reception. I was very upset to her since she didn't want to tell me how to get to the airport by bus and train. I saw her smoking in front of locker place during her work time. It was my last day in Sydney and she made me feel real terrible.
It's location in the city was what I liked best
washroom is quite clean and look nice..the hotel is in town, easy to travel around. Its very small hotel and hardly notice from the road.
The hotel is perfectly situated, close to the railway station an city bus stop. Room (deluxe) was realy nice and clean, but too small. There is also a loundry and a lounge area, where you can prepare your own food. The hotel entrance is not nice.
Location for our purpose was good close to city centre Requirement for a bond - the property already has a credit card on file - this practice is not usual and certainly not experienced by us anywhere else in the World
there is major issues concerning the swipe cards, which barely even work, when first given, and later on during the night fail to work at all - which results in having to sleep outside in the hall way for an hour, waiting for the property manager to call our numerous calls back - and for the number on the swipe cards to call us back. If your company cannot produce satisfactory cards - then change the system!
Great simplistic decor, very convenient location, efficient staff, great shower and laundry facililties, the blackout curtains for a good nights rest, easy transport I would have liked a coat rack by the door to hang our warm jackets on. greater variety of tv channels
Quest World Square was close to central Sydney, rooms were spacious and modern and very reasonable priced.
Room was lovely, clean and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating N/A
the location was perfect, easy to get to anywhere in the city, it was clean and staff was great, and great to relax in and great due to the facilities ie: kitchen and washing machine etcc - fresh towels every day too nothing to add
the cards were difficult to use in the lifts...took a lot of tries before they worked
Spacious rooms with good facilities, centrally located. Needed a bath tub in the room for relaxing after a busy day exploring the city.
Location....dixon street as there was a problem at world square re fire sprinklers I stayed at dixon st and the noise the first night was so loud until about 130am from other guests
Enjoyed the helpful front counter assistance - room was very comfortable - we would have liked to stay longer.
The room I was assigned had old, broken furniture; there were candy wrappers behind the armoire; a cup of candy treats left in there from the previous guests; a dead cockroach in the corner; broken toilet paper holder; beds were overused and way too soft; the entire room was run down ad disgusting.
Very nice Yes,no pick up the dinner platte, the dirty dishers stay in the all way all night, not so good
The late checkout Proximity to restaurants/cafes Size of room The view out the window The cost of the buffet and a la carte menu at the restaurant
The proximity of the hotel to the Sydney airport. The $250 price tag per night was very excessive. Will stay at cheaper hotel in future. Hotel interior needs upgrading especially the carpets. No access to the fitness area or indoor pool unless we paid extra money. This was not specified when I made the booking.
the hotel staff as usual were excellent, the rooms are great I have stayed in this hotel before and always found it to be of the highest quaility, this time ther was was ono mini bar I found this strange and disappointing for a hotel of this stature
Great location for a stop over, lovely beach, excellent pool very convenient for airport.
bay view (you need to pay extra for that), you can walk on the long beach terrible cleaning, very old hotel needs a major renovation, common corridors and the room is smelling.
the staff were excellent!! the gaming room/bar staff made our stay extremely pleasant and the front desk staff were very helpfull and always carrying a beautiful welcoming smile :) these members of your team are a credit to you. thank you no hash browns at brecki!!! just kidding the food, staff, rooms, view were great!! would definately come back!!
The Restaurants & Cafes in the Area are great, the people in them understand customer service & great food. The room looked run down & is need of a refurbishment, the bed was saggy, the TVs too small, the carpet was worn in sections & the overall cleanliss of the Hotel needs to be addressed post haste. For the price we paid, we were not impressed at all. The Bar staff, especially the Duty Manager on Saturday afternoon, were not friendly & appeared to be disinterested in the customers. We paid for a Bay View Suite, but all we saw without going onto the Balcony, was the Unit blocks accross the road. Very disappointed overall!
View of the Airport and Botany Bay, nice restaurants nearby. Good breakfast buffet. Having to pay for extra for parking after paying for the room. Most hotels provide this as an inclusion. Need a display of the accomodation which demonstrates which room you are actually going to get, (similar to when booking seating at a venue, or for rooms on ship cruises) allows for more informed choice. The following two questions should not be multiple choice, it is more complicated than that. Let me just say that the hotel ranked among the more expensive for really no better facilities, it relies on location rather than service. I have stayed at better hotels, for example in Noosa Heads, where the location and rooms are far superior yet the price is far more reasonable.I would suggest that unless it is the 13th or 14th flor, $250 max
