the staff, the bed, the view and the location for the cost the room was to small, no room to put your luggage or sit comfortable.
The view was amazing - but this was after we paid an up charge to get a view with a balcony. The Sea View that was booked originally - you had to really stand on something to see it.
Absolutely everything! Staff were fantastic, food in the restaurant amazing. Buffet breakfast fantastic, especially sitting out on the terrace overlooking the spectacular view. They went above and beyond our expectations, highly recommend staying here!
the building itself is gorgeous and so is the view!
Perfect view, perfect staff, perfect beach, perfect breakfast.
The hotel was spacious and restful. There were many guests staying but it was never at all crowded. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It is beautifully located and the flowers and plants are a major contribution to peace and enjoyment. Delicious, unhurried breakfasts on the terrace overlooking Amalfi town were memorable. We thought that the all white decor with little furniture and no colour was severe.
Convenience to public transportation in a town full of steps. Lovely breakfast room with view and helpful in suggesting smaller, less touristy restaurants. Although on a busy street facing the harbor, my room was quiet at night, which was a bonus. I would go back.
Helpful staff Very basic accomodation for the cost
It is close to the beach and in the middle of town. The room had sea view, and the price was reasonable. New doors to the balcony kept the sun and noise outside, the room was totally dark at night so we slept very well. Breakfast at a beautiful terrace.
Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Great location. Even though the hotel faces a busy street, when you close the french doors and shutters, it is very quiet.
The location was excellent. Seaside and right in town for conveniences. Traveling with my 85 year old mother and she uses a wheelchair. This hotel was very accommodating for her. Nothing
excellent location and facilities. quiet, comfortable, spacious and convenient. Helpful staff no complaints at all
Location was great - the breakfast area overlooked Amalfi beach and the hotel was so close to the bus and ferry terminals. The room was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly.
I stayed in one of superior double rooms. It was spacious and had beautiful view and a jacuzzi. Breakfast was fair, and I liked cappucino.
friendly helpfull staff
This Hotel was really beautiful : nice furnitures, typiacally italian. The terrasse for the breafast was great with the view on Amalfi and the sea
The view over the small harbour from the large balcony was fantastic. The staff were freindly and professional and really made you feel at home. Given the chance in the future I would love to stay again. Leaving ..
There service was better than expected
We were made to feel very welcome and the staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is very well located, close to town but to one edge of the harbour and is therefore peaceful and yet centrally placed. There is a lovely terrace looking out to the harbour for taking a relaxing breakfast in the sunshine. Thank you Hotel Aurora, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back to see you again.
The staff is very helpful. If you get at room towards the sea the view is wonderful. Lack of parking space, but the staff was very helpful in moving the car during the day.
Fantastic hotel in an excellent location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and gaves us lots of advice to make our stay extra special. The room was basic but spotlessly clean and the views from the balcony fabulous. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
The quiet location, cleanliness and very good service from the staff
the location and views over the Amalfi coast
The staff was very helpful and spoke English. Very clean rooms and great breakfast. Perfect location for beach access.
Great location overlooking Marina with incredible views of surrounding area.
It was quaint and the outdoor garden breakfast was beautiful. We had a lovely balcony facing the sea. Staff were very pleasant helpful with recommendations about the town. Mosquitos. Expensive for a small hotel. Mold in our bathroom.
The lack of vegetables and not very helpful dining room staff
The classic Amalfi coast postcard view is unique. The terrace restaurant combines this view with an excellent cuisine and service featuring fresh fish and seafood. Rooms are very clean. Beds are comfortable.
The ambience of Ravello itself rather than the hotel & its facilities For a so called 4 star hotel this left a lot to be desired. The attitude of the staff was frankly surprising. In Italy one expects empathy and understanding. The reception staff could not have cared less. When we arrived we asked for an upgrade for asea view, they expected us to pay the full rack rate despite the fact that the place was half empty. around the pool no umbrellas were provided; there was no service. In order to obtain shade w were expected to sit under trees. On asking to see the manager to complain, we were told they didn't know where she was and in any case she was very busy...
beautiful location, wonderful area for dining outside, views no tea making facilities in the room, slightly disapointing room for such a hotel
Excellent panoramic views from room, terrace and garden area. Free car parking. Friendly helpful staff. Small room and tiny balcony for "superior room" . Room furnishings and fittings showing their age. Sat TV but CNN and BBC World not available in rooms.
Lovely surroundings in a very nice hotel
I liked the scenery most of all, the way the rugged mountains jutted out of the beautiful sea, and the design of the ancient architecture, and the beautifull plants and flowers that complimented the scenery, and the tranquil atmosphere of the area.
The location offered amazing views. The staff could not have been more helpful. We had pre booked some concert tickets they were ready for collection and a member of staff collected them for us without us asking! Nothing was too much trouble all the staff in every department we met were well trained and friendly. We were a bit dissapointed with our room.We had pre booked two months earlier but found due to the hotel hosting weddings many of the rooms were booked. It would have been useful to us to have know how busy the hotel was going to be when we booked, we could have arrived a few days later and enjoyed more peace. The hotel stay was a special birthday treat for my wife but we were not able to dine in the restaurant as the hotel was busy with wedding parties- however we dined out locally with amazing food and excellent views - this is why people go to Ravello!! Although we had a view we had requested balcony with sea view and we were offered either no balcony with good view or balcony with sea view interrupted by hotel rooftops!!
Magnificent views from the (superior)bedroom. Easy to go to and return from the centre of Positano by bus. In November, almost every restaurant is closed, also the resto from the hotel.
Helpful staff,Unique location,
the food and proximity to the sea. Thats a plus at Costa Amalfi. For the price, was expecting a bigger room and bathroom, but not a big deal, considering that is an old construction.
Staff were extremely helpful
The most beautiful location. Totally stunning. STaff very friendly. Should be more courtesy buses to Amalfi/Ravello.
Perfect location right by the sea, with uninterrupted sun. Ideal for exploring Amalfi coast. Unsuitable for those with dodgy pins!
The food was excellent and the service and staff were wonderful The location was great Its location is confusing - it would be useful if the website could state that the hotel is on the Amalfi coast road (ie not in the middle of Ravello) and that it's a Best Western - everything else was great.
great location, excellent friendly staff and and very good food.
the staff were very helpful rooms need a makeover - they are dated and tired. Shower wasn't big enough to turn around in
Great meals, views ,swimming, Enjoyed the hike up to Revello. The staff were kind and helpful. It would be nice to have the shuttle available in the late afternoon or perhaps at 2 pm rathr than having to wait until 6:30 pm
location and the relaxed atmosphere
Beautiful setting It is too difficult to get to Ravello for the evening - hotel should offer transport to Ravello and possibly other locations for the convenience of their guests
Its central location and ability to leave the car in car parking. Access to the internet was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hotel is very well located just below the main attractions and the main piazza. The staff was attentive and informative. We were most appreciative that arrangements were made for us to be able to have breakfast even though we were leaving earlier than the scheduled starting time. We really had no complaints.
1. The location of this hotel is just perfect. 2. The staffs were helpful. Nothing particular.
The pool and the locationl. Ravello is a beautiful town/village and the hotel is near the bus stop and only a couple minute walk from the main square. Once in Ravello it is very easy to reach the hotel. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. The hotel might consider running a shuttle service or offer a collection service from the port/bus stop in Amalfi. It is very hard to get to the hotel on the bus with luggage (the buses are small in order to navigate around the windy roads) and a short taxi ride from Amalfi to Ravello costs €30. It wouldn't put me off the hotel or Ravello though.
The location and convenience is excellent The lack of alternative areas to the bar to sit in. Whilst we were there there was a wedding party that closed the bar to other guests. This left us with nowhere else to go. The wedding party should have been put elsewhere in the hotel.
The location to the centre of Ravello was good. We had booked and pre-paid fully for the room as part of a deal. We were then unable to stay the first night, but because we had already paid I did not think I needed to inform them. They however sold our room as we hadn't shown up and we were given a lesser one the following night. I think as we had pre-paid it should have been kept for us. The staff were very unfriendly when dealing with this issue.
Food, service and the view. Room was a little small. Lounge bar area is archaic and out dated. A bit tight with the soap and shampoo!
Excellent Service from Fornt Desk, and stunning views. Good clean rooms
Views we were placed in the older part of the hotel, unfortunately the walls of these rooms were very thin and you were able to hear the occupants of the rooms around you, above and alongside. One night we were kept awake until 4 am
view, silence, location nothing worth mentioning
View, large rooms, great service The mildew on the walls and in bathroom
The location was exceptional. I loved being on the edge of the cliff. The ability to go down to the pool and/or swim in the Mediterranean sea was so exciting. We had probably the nicest room, end with the largest balcony it was perfect. We had rented a car and the signage from either direction was the best. The entrance (at the road level ) was unimpressive. But I don't think you can change that because the whole excitement of the hotel is the location on the cliffside. The distance into the main part of town was easily walkable and fun, although there was a shuttle service we didn't use it. Getting to the town of Almafi is not ideal if you need to use the ferry or bus (especially if its not high season). We had to take a taxi ride to Salerno for 100 euros in time to catch the train to Rome to make it to the airport in time. However we had time to take the ferry from Salerno to Almafi for 6 Euros each for 35 minutes, which was ideal and fun. (no worries about driving the coastline road.
There was a pool and access to the sea. Location. Timings of mini-bus shuttle service into town were not useful.eg.drop off for lunch but no pick up later.
The location was amazing. Every view from every angle was beautiful. The dinning room staff was also great. The hotel staff (outside of the dinning room) couldn't have been less helpful or less knowledgeable. They could have also used a 24 hour menu.
The view from our room and all over the hotel was incredible. We loved being very close to Amalfi (10 min walk) but not directly in town. The staff was very nice and attentive and knowledgeable. The pool decks built into the cliff were an amazing place to hang out for the day. The bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world but it was fine and made up for by the rest of the hotel
The views are some of the best we have ever seen from a hotel balcony anywhere in the world. The location is stunning
Hotel staff is very friendly and polite. We can see seaview from room.
Fantastic location, having superb views over Amalfi and its harbour. Good sunbathing facilities and access to swimming in its sea water pool or the sea. Good views from bedrooms as well as public rooms. Good variety in its restaurant. The staff were extaordinarily helpful and professional The standard rooms only have small balconies, some of which are enclosed. Neither your site or that of the hotel indicate this difference between standard and superior rooms.
We loved the fantastic ocean view. It was no luxury hotel by any means but nice & comfortable.
great location, views, pool / ocean area. parking a huge plus. restaurant well run. i would definetly stay here again.
The attentive staff, location and facilities. N/A
The staff and service was nice. I liked the pool alot. The price for any hotel in Europe is very expensive for what you receive in the USA. I was surprised they did not have any pugs to convert US powered electronics to Italian (all other hotels we stayed at did). The walk from the hotel to Amalfi proper although not that far could be harzardous due to limited side walks on the windy street plus walk through the traffic tunnel. Needs shuttle servic
Everything is great!
Really everything about Luna appeals but the family service and the location along with the history and charm of the building appeals most
Great atmosphere, spectacular views and good service.
Superb location with stunning sea views from our room. Very good breakfast buffet. Helpful and friendly staff. Good facilities including a great cloistered open air sitting area in the middle of the hotel. Limited choice of dinner menu options though food was pretty good. We stayed out of seaon so it may well be that in the high season they offer a greater choice. Good pool though the general area around it would benefit from a general update.
Location is spectacular, excellent staff service, unique pool situation with access to the sea. Beautifully clean, historic rooms. Great atmosphere and the restaurant food was wonderful (and the view amazing). Of particular note were the wonderful staff, all helpful, cheerful and genuinely 'sympatico' and appeared truly pleased to help us enjoy our stay. I would highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing, peaceful break and from which to explore wonderful Amalfi. It was recommended to me by a friend and Hotel Luna exceeded my expectations. If for no other reason, stay here for the pool! One very small thing, they need to provide more towel/clothes hooks or rails in the bathroom for hanging towels, swimsuits and beach clothes!
Beautiful place with great service. Bathroom was in need of an update but functioned fine and was clean.
We can be satisfied of wonderful scenery in Amalfi from among room in a hotel. It was a simple actually room only in the window though said that it would prepare the room where the view with the terrace was good when confirming it by telephone. It had time sad not to accept at all though May also was transmitting in the meaning of the confirmation. And It was made to pay 20 Euro higher than the amount of money confirmed by telephone. It seems not to have a too good impression for the Japanese.
It's location is superb. The views from both public and private rooms are spectacular. The staff is excellent and anticipates needs. It's ambience - converted from a convent dating to 1222 - is wonderful. Shower curtain.
Our room had a stunning view of the coastline. The food was excellent and staff were very helpful. The restaurant 'Ristorante la Torre Saracena' across from the hotel has terrible food especially for the price and the service is weak...
location 's very nice. Hotel's restaurant by the sea was very romantic. you can see the sea from room's window. Hotel's interior and exterior were also very very nice. a porte-cochere man was excellent!!
very friendly staff, nice location and comfortable rooms
Clean and comfortable. Good dinner and breakfast buffet. Garage.
The breakfast was poor. Yuo have to pay extra for most things
Spacious bedroom with good size bathroom. Lovely cool reception area. Good continental breakfast. No iron in room. Lack of pool and charge to use beach
The hotel was very clean and the room big and nice, however, this is not a 4* as we know it in the UK. More like a 2 or 3*. Breakfast very basic even by continental standards. Staff were helpful when we asked them a question but were moody otherwise! Free parking was a bonus in this area. Location of the hotel was good within Maiori. The hotel is set back from the road which means it's relatively quiet. Staff seemed fed up - not a smile in site! The reception staff were OK but those in the restaurant were very grumpy. Also the lack of facilities - no pool, no internet, no tea/ coffee facilities in the room, only 1 pillow each etc. The hotel is set back from the road and the sea view is obscured by another building, we were lucky to get a sea view. The noise between the rooms was typical of a concrete building - you could hear most movement next door but our neighbours were pretty quiet.
The staff were amazingly helpful and nice and I have never seen such a clean hotel in Italy before. The breakfast was a bit poor, however, the beautiful terrace and excellent service will make you forget that. Also the hotel review says it offers Wifi, which is not true. I hope this changes because I do want to go back!
Very good location, just by the beach. The manager was very professional and friendly. The staff at the reception barely spoke English.
The entire hotel and rooms were very clean and the staff were always willing to help.
Amabilidad del personal, limpieza, todo muy nuevo, cercano a sorrento con lo cual se puede visitar toda la costa .
The location downtown and the beautyful wiev over the sea from my room
Perfect view of the Duomo from my balcony, excellent location, amazing staff - definately 5 star treatment for a great price
The staff were very attentive. The room had some problems but were not essential. The atmosphere was very clean, good breakfast and all the staff made us feel "at home". The employees could not speak English, or very little, which made it difficult to contact and advice to restaurants, tickets, return, etc..On two different nights I used two rooms and both the water was not too hot for bathing. That was very unpleasant. And in the second bathroom, the shower was unregulated, water falls down (for bathing) and also at the roof. Result: The bathroom was flooded.
The location was simply perfect! Right in the Amalfi centre, less then 1 minute walk from the beach. Guests get special rates for the beach and for a good restaurant near there. Amalfi night-life is very crowded, so there was a bit of noise coming from the streets. Breakfast was ok but they didn't serve anything containing chocolate!
All Hotel staff were so kind and frendly. Hotel has really good restaurant. Hotel location was a bit complicated and messy area.
good value for money.such a central location.balcony with sea view.
Location, excellent continental breakfast. Noisy rooms onto the square, should mention the amount of steps for elderly guests, etc
location was perfect-right main square- Breakfast facilities were very basic-no tea/coffee making in room-tv didnt work
Excellent in every way - location, sea view room, service. The showers could be updated, but everything else is great. I love it!
It was very central
Perfect location, great staff, nice breakfast. The showers could be updated.
Large apartments at a reasonable price, Clean. Friendly staff. Apartments poorly equipped and no double beds. Not 4 star standard as advertised.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We stayed in one of the apartments and the rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The kids really enjoyed the pool which was quite large and very clean. We would really recommend this hotel as a wonderful base from which to explore the Amalfi coast region as well as Pompeii and Capri.
Location, staff, pool, tennis and rooms. Everything a family would need for a vacation. Beautiful views.
very nice hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are very neat and everything is in good condition. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. You can walk easily to the beach. We really recommend this hotel to everybody.
the staff was extremely friendly
close to ocean/beach We waned to swim, but was not allowed because we needed a swimming cap? No one wears those anymore - and I'm sure no one travels with one.....
This is really good.Friendly people. Low price, good quality. Swimming pool. About 700m from the beach of Maiori. Quiet location. Airconditioned. Good breakfast. We stayed there three weeks and enjoyed it very much. We can recommend it to everyone. R.Gruijters. Holland
Excellent and comfortable room , swimming pool , decent breakfast , friendly staff, free parking. Wifi only in lobby (Free).
The hotel was very clean and the staff happy to help with all your needs.
A special thanks for Maria from Housekeeping. She made our visit to the hotel very comfortabel and pleasant.
It was mostly meant for elderly British couples.
The view is amazing from the hotel. It is a beautiful location.
views were fantastic
The view from the balcony. Pool size - Mouldy smell in the corridors. - No Safety box in the room. - Old towels. - Dry bakery goods at breakfast buffet.
The view, the view, the view! The large terrace alone is reason to stay at this hotel. Also, because of its location up in the mountain, the hotel accommodated for this - free daily shuttle bus service to and from the city centre (and the beach), and restaurants, internet available at the hotel.
Incredible location with an unbelievable view. Very helpful front desk staff when asked for trips or travel arrangements. excellent food at the Tato restaurant. The original room that was assigned to us was musty smelling and needed serious updating. We complained and were given a lovely room. This proves the old adage, the squeaky wheel gets the grease!
The view was very good. I was looking forward to seeing the sunset over the water but this was not the case - it set over the mountains to the right.
Excellent hotel located on the mountain side providing magnificent views over the amalfi coast. Amalfi town is reached in 10 minutes by the hotel shuttle service (free) or by SITA bus (2.4 € one way). The Hotel has a private beach (costs 10 € to visit) - the beach is very nice, but it's recommended to wear shoes/sandals in the water because the pebbles can be uncomfortable when bare-footed.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful in a very relaxed way. Although the hotel was quite a way out of Amalfi, or rather above it, there was a free and a frequent bus laid on by the hotel taking you both to the beach and Amalfi so you didn't have to take the car out. Views of Amalfi and coast breathtaking from the hotel. We had a garden suite which had great facilities and a garden terrace with fantastic views. Absolutely nothing.
A very unicque hotel...with a very own layout...with a perfect view from the room balcony and from all the other several windows everywhere...to a see in front....and a beach below us...200 meters straight down. Good to leave a window a bit open...and fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful and clean rooms, spectacular view!!! (La ninfa is one of few hotels which is directly at the cliff facing the sea = on the sea side of the main rode, so you have no road in between and nothing that spoils your view, its also more quiet); beautiful beach directly at hotel (free/public beach with access via stairs ~ 70 m altitude; you can also use a private beach service at the same beach where you pay, this one offers an elevator we think), good italian breakfast (no ham, no cheese) but very good coffee, fresh fruits, yogurt and wonderful fresh croissants; we stayed there for 2 days and had a great time and would go there again - recommended!!! Nothing really negative, only some hints for other travellers: the Economy/Standard room we booked has no window at all (only a/c), the room opens directly into the breakfast area (which has a great view); the distance to Amalfi is walkable (15-20 min down until you are directly at the harbour/centre, up it takes a little bit longer) but its not close and you walk on a road with a lot of traffic, at some parts directly on the road; public parking is directly along the main road, we always found a free spot (might be tricky in high season however)
Fantastic staff, very friendly and helpful. The view from the hotel is incredible! Would stay there again, just loved it.
The staff were very pleasant. Small friendly hotel. Great seaview location. Nice rooms.
Superb location, nicely decorated rooms, hospitable staff
The service at the hotel was excellent and the waterfront balcony offered a spectacular view. Interior room design was also very well done and although the rooms may seem a bit small at first, they come with all the amenities one may expect. It's a great hotel to stay at.
This hotel suited us perfectly for our visit to the Amalfi coast. The hotel setting was amazing with our room was a separate building with its own door away from the hotel itselfperched on the edge of a cliff with incredible views of the Mediterranean sea. The staff were excellent and very friendly
Close to the beach. Nice view from the breakfast area, nice staff for breakfast. Poor parking facilities. A bit far from town centre, took approx 25 minutes to walk - do not walk the streets when it's dark as the traffic and narrow roads make it very dangerous walk.
The ownwers were really helpful and freindly Magnificent views, easy walk to Amallfi and surrounding hills.
First, the view is awesome ! And the word is quite poor to describe it, it's really beautiful. Our room was clean and lightning. Hotel hosts are very nice and helpful, breakfast was great, and finally, there is a beautiful little beach between rocks just below the hotel. Thanks for this great stay.
overvew room. not comfortable hotel
good beach , good service , location near Amalfi , good shatale , good food air condiation , and slow / small elevaetors
Everything was so perfect!!!! We would visit again!! No, everything was so well organized!!
The hotel staff, especially the reception staff were very helpful and expalined the whole layout etc of the hotel on arrival. To get a full picture of the hotel you have to view this from the sea which is breathtaking Location is isolated & the nearest main centre was a cab drive away. Courtesy buses were provided but times to & from hotel were limlited to early morings or early evening. The resturant staff & breakfast staff were not very helpful or freindly. In the evening we took a meal at the resturant. Once seated I noticed a smashed glass under the table, but the staff just shrugged their shoulders.
Beautiful hotel in a breathtaking setting. Fulfilled my bucket list item of staying in a castle as this was built to replicate a fortress. Staff was friendly and service was great. Staying at a hotel with a private beach is worth it in Amalfi! Lots of ants- but expected at a beach hotel
Great accomidations. I was looking for comfort and a great view after touring Italy for two weeks. A place to relax. I found through research most hotels offer one or the other not both. Saraceno offered great views from the rooms up on the hill as well as great beach location. Food was good, bar open late till 12 midnight. If your looking for peach and quite this is the place. The cabs are expensive in Amalfi. Look into hotel shuttle. It is accomidating to use.
Everything, especially the view.
different Radio doesnt work in the room. NZ$500 per night should be 5 star but not. All Italian TV. Only BBC in english. Sky do have english programs. Small 15 inch TV 50 ft away from viewing??NO Tea or Coffe/milk/ electric jug facilities like in 99% of hotels/motles in NZ. Not value for money. No service. Only if you ask for it. At the pool/ would you like another or food or is everything o'k. Only stay for one night just for the look.
the hotel is beautiful, staff and service outstanding
the castle looks so dramatic, particulary looking back up from the beach. I didnt expect the lovely gardens and pots of flowers on the balconies which really added to it. it was over our budget so we only stayed 1 night in partial seaview, but laying in bed I could see the ocean, and the stars. I would reccomend it even if its a bit out of your price range just stay one day its worth it!
The hotel has a great location, and the free parking is a plus in this area. that is about it!!! They even charge your to use the internet, what first class, or like you rate it 5 star charges a guest to use the internet in 2010. You rated this hotel 5 stars, it is not!!! Maybe the location, but not facilities or amenities of a 5 star hotel. It does not even have a real blow dryer. you cannot use any electrical converters in the bathroom, and there are no mirrors in the bedroom. It has a small tv, real old, from a museum, the safe has a key, old fashion key, not electronic like a real safe, and it is inside the refrigerator, which means, every time you want to use the safe, you have to open the small refrigerator, which does not work when you leave the room, since you need to insert a key for the electricity to work inside the room. no robes, slippers, plastic cups... no proper hangers for your clothes. I would not recommend this hotel. Maybe as a 2 or 3 star
nothing Huge noise from air conditioning which is unnecessary for outside temperature of 15 degree celcius.
Good location, nice staff and a lovely boutique feel. Good location, nice staff and a lovely boutique feel.
view from balcony
Everything was fantastic. The staff was courteous, the lodging was fabulous, and the proximity to everything you want and need in Amalfi is the best. Absolutely not.
Everything was perfect! Very comfortable.
central location building site in front of hotel
the staff was amazing and made our stay incredible. The closeness to everything downtown was also a huge plus. it is noisy over a main street and has bottles breaking as the city recycling bins are just around the corner and picked up at 5:30am every day.
The staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel was ideal. We also enjoyed the breakfast provided. They had a good selection of breakfast items (both quantity and quality) and excellent service.
Location, view from terrace Early morning road noise
The views from the terrace at breakfast. Was extremely disappointed with this hotel having read good reviews of same in advance of booking. It was not clear that this hotel is very small, more of a boutuque family run hotel with few services, basic rooms. Rooms were not spacious and were very small. This was the last hotel we stayed at on the amalfi coast and by far the most disappointing and the least value for money, completely overpriced! Would classify it as more of a budget/backpackers than a 4 star hotel. We booked this hotel as we wanted three days of rest and relaxation at the end of our holiday and the website showed decking with loungers etc. Upon check in we were directed to a beach down the street where we were obliged to pay for loungers.
Staff is really nice but the place needs work. we had ants in the room, safe didn't work in the room. the staff doesn't speak any english there was mold on the AC. the bed was uncomfortable the water didn't run properly. I wish we spent more money and stayed somewhere else. It was our honeymoon too
It was very close to restaurants, beach and activities. Very convenient.
The location of the hotel was great -right in the middle of town and an easy walk to the beach. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice terrace and a newly renovated bathroom. The ac also worked great (and was well worth the 10 Euro/day investment). The staff was very helpful in suggesting day trips and other things to do in the area. We had a car with us, but didn't need to use it during our 4-day stay as everything is accesible by bus or boat and it is impossible to find a parking space anyway. The breakfasts were simple, but good enough and were served on a delightful roof terrace. You are really getting value for money by staying here. Friends of ours recently stayed at a 4-star hotel on the water. Their hotel was fine, but they literally paid DOUBLE what we did! I don't think that's worth it for a sea view! We would definitely stay at Hotel Amalfi again. There were two things that could have been better: - My mom (a senior citizen) was on the trip with us and stayed in a separate room. Unfortunately her room had a bath that hadn't been renovated that included a deep bathtub with a shower hose that you had to hold in your hands. This type of shower is not great for older folks or anyone with a physical disability. When we left, we mentioned this to the staff, and they said that we should have spoken up sooner and they would have changed her room. - The second item was the elevator which is very small with room for four at a time (or two people with luggage). We got stuck in it twice where the power and lights went off and it just stopped for about 10 seconds. The owner assured us that there was nothing to worry about, but for someone with claustrophobia, it was not ideal. I used the stairs for the rest of our stay...
Really excellent staff, very friendly end helpfull. I love them !!! Great central lokation. At the night is the lokation (a street side) a bit noise, windows are not a sound proof...
Reception staff excellent, and very helpful, informative. Hotel location good, room clean, breakfast lovely! Cleaning staff start early, and are not very quiet...
I absolutely loved this hotel, it was one of the best l stayed in whilst in Italy. The staff were delightful, very friendly, helpful and informative. The rooms were clean and bright and very comfortable. Central location. Breakfast was great and the breakfast room has a beautiful terrace with a great view of Amalfi.
Very pleased, good accommodation very helpful staff, excellent location and great breakfast. Large paciaour rooms and plenty of hangers!
The hotel and location are AWESOME. It doesn't get any better than this No internet access but right at the bottom of the stairs there was an internet place that was open til 9pm. Not too bad.
Location was good, parking on spot, had to pay but it was convenient. Needs more cleanlines especially bedding, rooms need more furnishings.
We are amarried couple, who travelled with our two children aged 8 and 11. For us, the stay at Hotel Amalfi was very nice. We had a functional family room at the hotel, which is nicely situated; close to the sea - yet withdrawn from the most busy part of town. The hotel garden was very pleasant. Both children liked to sit there and read, pet the cat and discover the trees and flowers growing there. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking Amalfi and its surroundings was great! Furthermore, the staff was very helpful. The tour operator (bus + guide) they recommended for Pompeii-Vesuv was wonderful and made the trip a good experience for both childeren and grown-ups. The staff in general were very nice to children. An additional plus: The night watchman showed us where the light swithch of the roof terrace was so that my husband and I could there to read and write postcards after the kids had gone to bed.
very nice hotel, very clean. friendly, great staff.
Nice Residence, beautiful sea view, close to the amaizing beach, atractive roads, kind staff. Residence car park-mentioned on webside that parking is free, but after booking there was announcment that we have to pay for parking 20 Euro per day. Pleas check before booking- by calling to residence- if parking is free or not ....
food was lovely.views were amazing Staff most unpleasant, very unaccomodating, whenI asked why mini bar was empty I was told to get my own drinks at the bar. When I complained there was no iron, was told to come down and collect one at reception but that the hotel did not possess an ironing board. When I complained that there were ants in my room , there was no apology, I was just told a maid would spray them. Bar was closed every time we went to go for a drink.
Everything Better english speaking reception
staff was very friendly and hotel was nice and well situated for our holiday
We were delighted with the professionalism of the staff and its services. The employees went out of their way to ensure that all of our needs were looked after. The breakfast was excellent. The location & view from this hotel were exceptional. We would be pleased to return to this hotel but would reserve a standard room in the refurbished section of the hotel. Our rooms were quiet & very clean.
Brand new, friendly staff no sidewalks made walking to main hotel dangerous
Wonderful sea view with two big balconies. Rooms were clean quiet and spacious. Good location as well
The room was great, high ceilings with a balcony and What a view!! Staff was very helpful in how to see the local area by providing a bus schedule and directions. The great breakfast was on a lovely balcony looking over the sea. Short walk to the city center. Though pricey we definately recomend the resturant across the street. The mattress and pillows were poor quality. We had no problem using the bus from the Salerno train station to the hotel, but if you're not public transportation savy be prepared to spend a lot on a taxi.
Location was close to the beach and amenities. Hotel was quite noisy and the walls were thin. Bed was uncomfortable and rooms weren't very stylish.
View from the balcony and terrace was truly amasing! Room was spacy enough, with modern TV (10 music channels!). Liked private beach (10 EUR for two persons per day). They gave us superior room instead of standart with no extra charge. Didn't like archaic conditioner for making too much noise at nights. Room is pretty ascetic, with wooden shutters and no carpet on the floor. Ants crowling around both room and bathroom. By the way there is no bath in bathroom - only shower. Breakfast is quite poor, without hot meals and meat. In general, it looks like 3*, but with really nice view and SKY TV.
clean and comfortable, the sea side vew is good, service and parking good
The rooms are new, clean, beautiful. The entire hotel is like that. It's in a quite place, only 10 minutes walking from Amalfi downtown, and has a great view.
very clean and organized very strict staff.. they look at your bags/shoes before you enter your room you cant bring food etc... very nosy
Excellent location with free parking, easy to reach all the wonderful sites around. Very amiable staff ready to help with any trip to be planed. Very cleen room with privet terrace and good overlooking the sea. Antique TV unclear and noisy. Charge for Internet HiFi
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were newly renovated and very clean. The had plenty of parking.
The friendly smiling staff, very efficient and great breakfast.
Amazing views from balcony and within walking distance to town. Reasonable prices at bar and breakfast. I booked two rooms with view to ocean, when I arrived I was told only one sea view room was available but that I would be refunded for difference and be moved next night. I did not receive sea view room and upon checkout they didn't refund money but instead came up with other "fees" that they "would not charge me to be even". One night I did not have remote to AC in room, left it there that morning. Front desk person was not helpful at all and didn't care to go looking for another, said each room had a different remote and couldn't be shared. I did not appreciate his attitude, although in a beautiful location I will not be staying there again. There are plenty other hotels with better service and just as beautiful views.
IT was quiet. The room was clean. The owner was a littel bit pusshy to make the guests somethings to do.
The hotel was clean and the staff were most accommodating and friendly. The room had a great view and there was plenty of room, very comfortable. The only thing was we had a lovely room with a balcony and table but were not allowed to take food and drinks from outside the hotel.
The staff is proud of their hotel and you feel that, they do at great job making you feel well.
Good loicatiob if you're travelliing by car. Great view. Breakfast was pertty poor.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Free parking. Bus from right outside the door. We were on the first floor facing the street, so there was some noise from traffic.
Hotel staff helpful, attentive, informative, offered on more than one occasion to take us places in the hotel transport with no charge which was beyond the call of duty..Delightful friendly people. We only had dinner one night, the first night, we understand they had a new chef. The food was poor and small portions. They would be well advised to monitor this situation as other guests thought the same and this will lead ultimately to affecting their guest reviews if it does not improve.
The staff are very kind, helpful and pleasant to deal with.
hotel and staff were faultless i would recommend this hotel
We got a room with a huge terrasse and amazing view. Very kind stuff, always attentive, even though in low season. Breakfast quite rich in comparison to other hotels in the area. Room decoration charming. Location between Amalfi and Positano is very good and the parking offered just outside the hotel is very handy. Definitely recommendable.
Great family run hotel, staff really cares about their guests, great hotel with very good fixed price dinner for guests, menu changes daily.
The staff was excellent !! Margherita, the owner could not have been nicer. Our room was terrific. What a view !! The food was very good and the location for what we were looking for was great The hill leading up to the hotel is very steep if you have to walk it. How-ever, there is a shuttle service available most of the time.
Lovely staff, everyone spoke english very well. Although young, the dining room staff were very polished and polite. They gave us some super tips that really added to our pleasure.
Friendly helpful staff. Great views, quiet location. Beautifully kept. Lovely breakfast/restaurant area.Good value for money. If driving yourself the roads in can be a challenge.
