Overview

In the heart of Rouen near the pedestrian quarter and the old town, the Best Western Plus Hotel de Dieppe 1880 sits just opposite the railway station and has been run by the same family since 1880, with an on-site restaurant long known across Normandy for its pressed-duck specialty. The hotel pairs that long heritage with comfortable rooms and an easy, central setting, a characterful base from which to explore the Norman capital, with the station right outside for connections to Paris and the coast. Rouen is a city of half-timbered streets and Gothic spires, its great cathedral immortalized by Monet, the Gros-Horloge astronomical clock arching over the old town, and the square where Joan of Arc met her end now marked by a striking modern church, and the museums and antique shops of the old town close, with the chalk cliffs and abbeys of the Seine valley a short drive on. Timbered lanes, soaring spires, and the Seine are all a short walk away.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests overwhelmingly praised the hotel's excellent location near the train station and city center, making it ideal for exploring the area. The staff received many compliments for being friendly, helpful, and professional. Cleanliness was also a highlight, with several guests noting the rooms were tidy and comfortable. Some reviews mentioned comfortable beds, though a few found them less satisfactory. The main negative was noise, especially from the street or nearby station, and occasional issues with room amenities or service lapses. Overall, the positives far outweighed the negatives, making it a popular choice for both short and longer stays.
