The interior of the hotel was basic, but smart and clean. The rooms were clean and comfy, if a bit on the small side. I was initially due to travel with my partner and it would have been a challenge for us both to manage in a room that size. Tea / Coffee / Water were replenished daily, which was a nice touch and the bathroom / shower was excellent with a ready supply of hot water.
Even though I read reviews of the area (Tenderloin), I cannot stress enough how horrific this area is. There is a serious homeless issue on all streets, you often have to walk onto the roads to get round large groups of homeless sprawled across the pavements. During daylight hours, people were openly injecting drugs and defecating, in fact the whole area smelled so bad it will be weeks before I can get the stink out of my clothes. I am really glad that my partner didn't travel, as I don't believe that she would have been safe, especially if she was wandering on her own. While the hotel itself was an oasis of tranquillity withing this seething cesspit, I do feel that it was overpriced, certainly compared to what I would expect to pay elsewhere.
They had a nespresso in the room
The neighborhood is noisy and dangerous, because are a lot of homeless in the street
Nice clean room, comfy bed, good shower, free Nespresso coffee, nice helpful staff
Room was on the small side but perfectly fine for a few nights
Not far from downtown. Water and cookies and coffre were supplied for free
Rooms are too small and windows were not insiulated could here noice from outside. Many homeless people around the hotel
The hotels is nice and clean. It is not in a nice area of SF. There are many homeless people around the streets and the streets are very dirty.
Hotel Epik is a fun and funky hotel located right in the middle of San Francisco, the City by the Bay. This edgy hotel is bursting with personality, right down to the Bill Murray-printed pillows. Since it is right in the middle of the city, tourists often book Hotel Epik as their home base while they explore the surrounding city.
There are several different room layouts for guests to choose from at Hotel Epik. The hotel's smallest rooms are quaint one spaces with one twin bed, while the largest is the King Suite with a king-sized bed and extra room for a plush sofa. Because San Francisco is close to the tech center of the country Hotel Epik also has several electronic-friendly amenities as well, like plenty of charging stations for all kinds of devices and complimentary wifi.
Hotel Epik is near some of San Francisco's most popular attractions. Just down the street is the famed Golden Gate Bridge. Davies Symphony Hall, one of the areas best concert venues is less than half a mile away, San Francisco City Hall is nearby and the giant San Francisco Zoo is a short drive away. Hotel Epik is near some amazing food as well. San Francisco is a melting pot of a city, so guests can find virtually any kind of food they want here. There are upscale Italian restaurants like SPQR, traditional Thai from Thai Idea, and contemporary Vietnamese cuisine from Pho 2000, which is located on the very same block.
