Japan town
I liked that it was really close to everything, we walked everywhere and got to see everything we wanted so that was really convenient.
They had construction going on, yes they did stop at 5pm but it would have been since with out the noise.
Not quite what I remembered, but solid.
- Quiet location - Deep tub - Free wi-fi
The Japanese decor is calming. Nice neighborhood, walking distance to nice restaurants.
Room is oddly designed. TV not easily viewed from bed. And the bathroom is not typical -- I think it has a Japanese influence so perhaps it is a comforting design for those familiar with Japan, but for others it seems strange. A deep thin tub with shower, no shower curtain, then the sink in a middle area that has wall to wall carpeting, and then the toilet in another room that you have to step up and over to enter.
under renovation
Beds are comfortable and is in a good location.
Under renovation, the AC wasn't working so we had to sleep with the door open, which is loud outside
We liked the friendly staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I would definitely come back and stay with my family .
Nice location, great rooms
- Very pleasant check-in experience - Attractive lobby - Attractive rooms - Nice area of town - Decent rates
- Exercise room is about what you'd expect from a hotel - Free WiFi is slow, urges you to "upgrade" for a fee
Atmosphere, Location. A/C is perfectly setup. Great Shower/Bathroom combo
Room next to the ice machine and elevators was rather loud. Pillows felt used and hard. Bed was not comfortable.
Would have been 5 stars if restaurant/bar was open
bar and restaurant were closed
rooms were nice
Excellent Staff
The staff were the most friendly and helpful of most of the hotels I've expetienced. We stayed there due to a close relative being in Cal Pacific Medical Center unexpectedaly from out of the area. They were so accommodating and extended our stay when complications arised. The restaurant was great and we loved Bill the bartender. We never felt like we were not welcome. The shuttle to the hospital was invaluable and saved us money in extra parking fees. I would not hesitate to stay here again under similar circumstances. We also enjoyed the restaurants in Japan town. They were wonderful.
The only thing we didn't like was the road noise in the room. Our home is in an area that u Is extremely quiet so we are not used to city noises. Mew have traveled extensively and stayed in noisy cities where hotels are much quieter. I must say we are more sensitive to noise so take that into account. We would stay there again if we needed too.
Location, & staff.
Carpet in my room smelled.
The staff was very friendly, and the common areas (japanese gardens, lobby etc) were all well designed to create an upscale appearance
Our room looked like it had been neglected by the maintenance staff. The carpet was worn down and ripped, and the ledge along the window was scuffed and chipped. (room 2403)
Great value for money. Comfortable and Spacious rooms with balconies. Great location for sushi. Good resturant and breakfeast
Resturant and room service are off for monday and Tuesday
very nice hotel in japantown
location
the lady in the front was not friendly.
A very safe and friendly hotel that was although not quite in the centre of San Francisco was easily within reach of attractions.
the hotel toiletries were really good products.
the booking did not get sent from the site to the hotel and took a little bit more time to check in than i would have liked. However the hotel staff was very pleasant and did a great job of fixing the situation.
Nothing.
The hotel was not as great as advertised. There was mention about hand- painted shoji screen door in the room. However there was only normal shoji screen door in my room. The room looks old although it was advertised that it has been recently renovated. Can't imagine how it looks like before the so-called renovation. The room faces a terrible view too (facing other guest room).
The service staff was prompt and courteous. They dealt immediately with any issues that we had.
proximity to Japantown, soaking tub
many items are worn out and out of date, stained
Japanese influence and hip interior make for a charming and characteristic ambiance at Japantown's Hotel Kabuki, a Joie de Vivre. The stylish boutique hotel underwent a $30 million renovation in 2018 and now attracts a mix of leisure and business travelers with its trendy spaces and loft-feel.
Away from the crowds in the heart of Japantown, Hotel Kabuki is right next to Japan Center, a shopping area with a variety of inexpensive restaurants, a Kinokuniya Bookstore, and shops with Japanese antiques, bonsai trees, and more. The popular Fillmore District is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The boutique hotel is positioned in a great location for accessing many of San Francisco’s major attractions such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Haight-Ashbury.
Accommodations are small but stylish and make efficient use of the space. Natural light pouring through floor-to-ceiling windows make the rooms appear larger and some feature private balconies for extended views. Rooms are well-equipped with all the modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, 55-inch flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, mini-fridges, electronic safes, and Bluetooth-enabled alarm clocks. Sleek, modern bathrooms have wet room-style rainfall showers and include hair dryers and bathrobes.
