The location was excellent, although there were a few homeless around, but were assured that it was safe and it was. The staff were obliging and helpful. The room was cleaned and got cleaned everyday. Plenty of nice eating houses around and not far to walk to the city if one does not mind the undulating roads and footpaths.
Found out late that the place was undergoing repairs and could not enter from the front where we were dropped of. Had to walk up flights of stairs around the back to enter from the rear of the building - we made it clear that we needed assistance with our bags as there were physical issues to overcome. We got the assistance and this was pleasing. No breakfast as was advertised due to the renovations - a REASON we booked the place. Having said the above, we feel sure that when renovated this place would be a nice spot to book.
i liked the fact that the hotel was centrally located. I liked the charm of the neighborhood. I liked the old windows and fire escape. The staff was friendly.
The hotel was under construction and we were not informed during our reservation. The restaurant was closed. The main lobby was closed. There was noise early on in the morning above our room.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They upgraded my room to a much larger room.
There was no air conditioning in the hotel and the facility was going through renovations
Loved the size of the room and the comfy bed.
The shower pressure wasn’t good at all and the pillows we’re really flat.
The elevator is wicked cool!!
The hotel is being restored to it's old beauty, which I love. The people were incredibly nice. The only down side is don't take the water in your room unless you wish to pay $8. for it. To be fair they took the charge off. It's San Francisco, downtown so don't expect beautiful window views but I really did like it's old world charm. Bathrooms are wonderful, beds are soft and there is a blow dryer and ironing board tucked in a closet.
