better AC unit. staff offered fan to help circulate AC
Internet speed was too slow to go online and load any pages. I also could not watch YouTube or upload my photos from my phone to my computer. Internet speed should be much faster to keep up with other hotels and even hostels.
I enjoyed the front desk guy and enjoyed the room quality, location and everything really.
It wasn't perfectly cleaned, the parking is very limited, and it was a bit expensive.
Updated Basic Value
This property is an older motel on a busy street that has been completely remodeled and updated. They have done so with great attention to detail and have stylishly created a space that feels like a quaint Latin American Village. The rooms feel modern with good beds and shower heads and accessories. Best of all, it is a really good value. Even though we needed to be on the opposite side of Santa Barbara, we have stayed here and enjoyed it on two occasions. You could argue that their continental breakfast is lacking because of a lack of a dining area but they have maximized a small outdoor patio for a pleasant 3 table setting if your plans allow. In this city of inflated hotel prices, we will return to Oasis Inn and Suites.
Nice renovated motel near shopping
Although my room was small, it had been updated. The bathroom was recently updated with nicer fixtures. The grounds, although small, were well-tended and a respite from the typical motel fare. This is just across the street from Gelson's market and less than a mile from the La Cumbre Mall, so it's close to shopping and not far from Downtown Santa Barbara. There is a very nice residential area behind the motel so I had no concerns walking at night. The staff was very friendly too.
My room was fairly close to State Street, so I did start to hear traffic around 7am. If you're a light sleeper or like to sleep in you might want to get a room near the back of the motel.
I think my stay here has no other choice
Best hotel for that price I had in Santa Barbara s
- very nice garden area that is unusual for hotels of that price category - clean - breakfast and free wifi included
