Very unfriendly staff, scary and dirty facilities I wouldnt recommend this place
Nothing Everything. The rooms looked dirty, there were bugs everywhere, towels had holes and were very thin.... the lighting was dim and the temp control looked like it was falling apart. The only reason we stayed was because we were extremely tired.
Cheap, room was clean, refrigerator/microwave Incredibly unfriendly staff who answered the bell/door in pajamas and made me feel like I didn't belong. Towels were skimpy -- slightly larger than hand towels. A few outlets didn't work.
Room had blood on door jam, pool was closed, internet didn't work.
The man working at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Poor location, lots of road/outside noise
Reasonable pricing. They don't have a blow dryer and a clock in a room, so it was inconvenient. I wish they could show guests what they have and what they don't have in a room. otherwise, everything else was ok.
Hotel Staff were friendly. Did not had a complimentary breakfast.
Closeness to old town Savannah ground floor rooms had ants everywhere.... they moved us immediately to a better room.
Hotel was convenient to River Street, shopping and restaurants. Considering was holiday, price was good compared to many other hotels in same general area. Bathroom was dirty; shower knobs were leaking and rusted, human hair in shower, in sink and on bathroom floor. Carpet was torn in several places. Bed was not a true "king" size and uncomfortable. Many rooms were occupied by permanent residents so noise level was high.
I liked that I had a bed to sleep in. The room smelled bad. It was hot when I walked in. The curtains were stained. The t.v. was way across the room from the bed. The chair was so old and dirt, I was afraid to sit on it. The bathroom was gross. The sink was cracked and stained. The bathtub was old and stained and the drain was broken. When I took a shower it didn't drain and shower curtain would fly up and stick to my body pretty much the whole time. I stayed 2 nights but only took 1 shower because of all of these things. The toliet paper holder on the wall was broken so it had to sit on the back on toliet. There was mold around the fixtures. When I turned off the light switch by the door and every thing went out, t.v., lights, everything. It was not a comfortable stay.
What I really enjoyed about this hotel was how "homey" it was. You see I am an unhygenic slovenly person and I hate feeling so uncomfortable at these ritzy places that charge you three times as much just for basic cleanliness. I mean "health standards" are really just code for "price gouging". I really enjoyed their cozy personal touches! They even leave some pubic hair in the bathroom and all over the beds just to remind you of home! And just in case you didn't notice them all over the shower (I mean it's not like I was really going to need to use that anyways, right?) they leave a few on the hand towels to keep you on your toes. I also really enjoyed the blood splatters on the walls, the blood soaked curtains, and bullet holes! The grease stains on the beds and all of the furniture as well as the acrid chemical smell emanating from the carpets were really not my favorite. I'm usually more of a food stains and wet dog smell kind of a person. Also, the woman at the front desk was no help in anything much less finding out how to get any of the appliances to work (though to be fair, the TV DID make some ominous clicking noises about 20 minutes after you touched its remote). These and curtains that didn't close, blood specks from recent bed bug activity, and fixtures that shocked you to the touch are really a small price to pay for an overpriced adventure into the slummy suburbs of Savannah! I mean safe and sanitary just doesn't give the authentic experience!
Close to town The doors were hard to close. Had to slam them to close them. Disruptive in the morning or evening
The staff was very nice Dirt in the sheets, found hair on the towels. Not a good area to stay in. Right next to a sketchy bar/club had to turn up tv to not hear music.
It seemed like a decent place to stay for the money. I wouldn't have watched the sunrise at the beach if I didn't have to flee this room so unexpectedly early. We were awoken by bed bugs. They gave us a new room and before we moved our stuff we checked the beds and found more bed bugs. We ended up checking out with a refund at 4am leading to a very exhausted day in Savannah.
Staff was very friendly and great pices for the room I liked everything
The staff was so friendly! Can't say enough about Monique in the front office. She was funny and welcoming and another guest was complimenting her hospitality as well. All other staff members were equally welcoming! Made our stay even better. Will definitely book this hotel again.
The people who cleaned the rooms were fantastic. The guy at the front desk was not so good. He failed to tell us that there was only a "Down" button on the elevator. We had no idea how the elevator worked. The room was clean and nice. The steps up to 2nd and 3rd floor were awful. It looks like they haven't been swept in years. I wanted to get a broom and sweep them myself. As in most hotels, the rooms were kept nice and clean, but outside the rooms (halls, stairways, parking) was dirty and grungy. Lots of construction junk was strewn around. Desk staff was NOT professional.
I like the decoration of the room. I loved the location! The staff were nice and I enjoyed my birthday there. Would love to come back. The parking is horrible. The spaces are way to close together.
I liked the location and the bed was very comfy and the shower was nice The fire alarm went off at 2 am and then intermittently throughout the night. The pool was right outside our door and people were not courteous of pool hours and were very loud. The staff was always not very friendly and had poor customer service skills. And I absolutely hated the parking situation.
The desk manager was very accommodating when I checked in on 2/5. My room was next to the elevator, with an obstructed view of the pool, but at my request he moved me to the only room on the complex that had a window view of the gulf, which really improved my stay. The parking spaces are extremely tight and my vehicle was damaged by an adjacent vehicle's door. After the first night, I took two spaces to avoid further damage, and the car beside me did the same thing, for the same reason, I drive a small car (BMW 328i), A full size is impossible to park and still be able for passengers to exit from both sides.
Staff was nice, but they were renovating the entire area. Only plus was location being right next to the beach, and having an air conditioned room to sleep in at night. Ok if you plan on being out all day. Room was in poor condition and not very clean looking. There were holes in the walls, the bathroom door was completely splintered at the bottom. No available hair blow dryer in the room. Parking was not the best, spots were super tight and someone scratched my car opening their door.
We enjoyed the proximity to the ocean. It's right off of Tybrisa, with shops, food, and the pier. The pool is a nice place to hang out when you want to get away from the salt water. We ended up renting bikes around the corner, which is a great way to get around the island. The rooms were outdated. The mattresses were extremely soft and have a dip in the middle. The walls in the rooms had splatters on them, there were hairs on the floor in the bathroom, and dust on everything. Overall it was a cheap hotel with a great location. Try not to spend too much time in there.
Close to the beach, clean rooms, comfortable bed, and friendly staff. A prime spot for the young party-goer looking for beach-side activities. Wet Willies, located on-property, serves up amazing frozen daiquiri's. Sunrise Diner, around the corner, is the place for breakfast! Amazing omelettes and breakfast buffet on the cheap! Noisy! Hotel was undergoing renovations -- tile cutters running until 10:30pm. Thin walls and noisy neighbors can also be a problem. Parking is horrible with limited space. Hotel crams 3 vehicles into a parking stall, causing potential damage to everyone's vehicles. Not good if you are looking for a comfortable, quiet place to stay. Be weary about eating at Lighthouse Pizza located directly across the street. Should you have the misfortune of receiving an incorrectly made dish or rotten cheese in your pasta, they will refuse to correct the issue, call you a liar, and cite their no refunds/exchanges policy.
Beautiful location, right at the beach! The hotel clerk/manager conducted herself very unprofessionally when I called her regarding my check-in time and OTA misinformation. I sensed anger for no reason, and she refused to take responsibility or show concern for how informational discrepancies with her OTAs can unintentionally negatively impact her customers. It's profits over people here. I recommend that you spend your money elsewhere for better customer service.
Black mold in the shower, room reeked of cigarettes, other guests were extremely loud, the lock on the door was broken.
Not clean at all and needs more lighting. The pillow top matress in our room was flipped upside down because of the condition of the top part of the matress so we slept on the very uncomfortable bottom side. The location was perfect but the room was so very gross.
The staff was great. Very friendly. The location was awesome. Was upstairs above wet Willies. Was on the strand and 10 second walk from the beach and pier. Nothing. It was great
While the room was not plush or elegant, it was certainly clean and comfortable. The staff were particularly friendly and went the extra step to make sure that our needs were met. The breakfast was seriously pedestrian--cold cereal and convenience store pastries.
Location is great! Service was wonderful. Hair dryer didn't work. Breakfast milk was spoiled but replaced. Cereal was old.
The room was very comfortable and clean. An excellent value for such a convenient location. Very comfortable beds and pillows, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had four devices on the wifi, and the connection was perfect. I didn't bring my dogs this time, but will on our next visit. I live very nearby, and will definitely revisit this hotel with my teenage children and relatives from out of town. The parking lot can be a little cramped with all the super sized pick-ups that frequent this part of the state.
Location and cost. Looked like the room had not been cleaned in years. Bathroom was maybe the filthiest one I have ever seen. Felt like I needed to take a shower somewhere else after taking one there. Back up lock was falling off the wall. Not much parking. Value should be $40 for a room like that.
The staff The room overlooked the stairwell!!!
Room was clean. Staff were friendly. Beds were comfortable. Great location.
great location, friendly staff, plenty of parking. Had a full kitchen with dishes, stove, fridge, etc. not all do tho. had a leak in our shower ceiling when it started to rain, but they had maintenance out pretty quick - on a Sunday. If you want new, shiny and fancy, do that somewhere else. If you want somewhere friendly and clean for the family to comfortably land at night after the beach or pool, it'll do just fine! no coffee in room!!?? And lobby coffee didn't start till 8:00. Odd considering I did have an oven...
Nothing Poor quality and dirty
breakfast was good, the counter person was good and helpfull bed sheets were dirty, only had two pillows and not enough bath towels. since I paid online I was not able to get my military rate.
Room was disgusting. Hair on the sheets, something smeared on bathroom mirror and bathroom light blown. Overall nasty in look and smell. We checked out and received a refund immediately after seeing room.
The staff were exceptional! Any question was answered and all requests were immediately taken care of! Location was great in relation to the beach, restaurants, and shops. We will be back! 2 negatives to the stay: 1 was the floor of the room was on the dirty side but this is due to the amount of sand and would require a deep scrub so we just wore socks and flip flops and were fine and 2 was the breakfast options were very limited and mostly carb loaded foods (muffins, toast, bagels, cereals, etc.) -Lots of good breakfast restaurants were within walking distance so not a real loss
Staff was great. Exactly what I thought I was paying for. Not the fanciest place in the world, but clean, near the beach. nice people, place to park, continental breakfast. I'm pleased with my stay and the money I spent. Thanks! Sink backed up--needs some attention, but was still usable. Otherwise fantastic!
The reservation was not honored. We were transferred to a "sister" hotel. The sister was not clean, not staffed at night and had noisy air conditioning units in the room.
Cottage feel Friendly staff
You get what you pay for most of the time in life. I got what I payed for. It's an old hotel. Sometimes you can't get clean what is old, like carpet or the smell. There were a few bugs in the room, at least the ones I saw.
The staff was great! The room seemed clean. I accidentally booked a smoking room, but the room didn't smell as awful as I would have anticipated. I had to get in the shower with my two year old because the plug for the bath wouldn't work. My sons socks were filthy from the floor being dirty.
The night attendant I spoke to over the phone was very helpful and took care of business. For 89 dollars a night for 1 king size bed isn't very bad. However, when the bed sheets and comforter have stains that look and smell like 5 people have had sex on it right before you arrive it's a problem. I was disgusted by this and will not return to this Super 8 motel.
Courteous staff & friendly atmosphere Room key did not work for many hours due to low battery
This was the most horrible experience of my life. Room was not prepared, even though we arrive at 9 pm. Filth everywhere. Staff was rude. Made racial comments about the "white" couple in the room before us (and we are white). Covered up apparent blood stains on the pillows with cases. Then we found similar stains on the sheets. My girlfriend was accosted by a drunk man at the door. I had to threaten police to get him to leave (but wanted to do much worse to him). Couldn't stay and the manager slammed and locked a door in my face and told me she had cameras and I was making up my complaints. We left and found a clean, comfortable room down the road. Horrible! I'll never trust your ratings and staged pictures again!
Easy access to Savannah, direct route from the hotel. This is the best thing I can say about this place. Even the discounted travel website price I paid was too much for this place. Travel website classed it at three stars, but two is being generous. Bathroom dirty, tub looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Dirt build up in the corners, cracks and crevices. Toilet loose and wobbly. Breakfast is a joke. Store bought 2-3 day old pastries, one choice of cereal, no coffee, fridge with milk and OJ doesn't even keep it cool much less cold. No staff even acknowledged me when turning in my key because they never came to the desk. With a shameful "free breakfast" like that... I wouldn't want to show my face either.
The staff were rude, there was another person's hair left in the shower, and the overall atmosphere was bad and felt unsafe.
The Hotel was really clean and nice. Only complaint, it's not in the best area of town, a bar in front of the hotel was a little louder than I would have liked it.
